Hey All,
Just saying hi, I have been reading but havnt had time to post, which I know you can understand!
Quick question, I was up last night with Archie from 6pm til 12 midnight - 6hrs of no sleep as he had wind pain. I had eaten chocolate that day and had a coffee too which I have been steering clear of. How has foods affected your babies????
Help!
-
Jen, With Liam, I couldn't eat chocolate, coffee, tea, milk and dairy products, until he was about 8ish mths, other stuff was oranges, tomatoes, spicy foods (eg chilli) and fizzy drinks til he was about 5mths. It really upset his tummy and we would have him up screaming for hours. It just wasn't worth it to eat them. But now he can eat anything and he's ok. Though he's having soy only because Lily has a sensitivity to it now which affects her ears if she eats too much dairy, so we just don't give it to her. I just feed Liam the same because it's the easiest thing!

Hey all.....
Jen- good luck at the bf diet. I cant give you any tips but youre doing great. Have you got anymore pics of Archie up on fb? He's nearly 2 months?
Kel- did you have a better week this week? I cracked it with dh about going back to work because he just keeps spending and I dont see the point if i have to find childcare coz i dont want to put them into a different one. Hopefully we will get our extention done soon and am trying to see if my dad would move in with us to help out. He has to move out of his house in the next 6 months, so it might be a good opportunity for him and us. We will have 3 bedrooms upstairs and if the girls want to still share for a while we will have space. Its just a though:)
Hi everyone else. Kris....how long have you got left?
As for us....Rebecca is cuttin 2 more molars, so she has 12 teeth now, which is heaps more than liv at this age.Shes also got conjunctivitis...poor mite
Olivia is well. I just had to get her new tshirts...size 5 and shes just in size 4 pants. Shes pretty tall so we have decided to get her a single bed becase she doesnt have much space in the toddler bed. Shes very excited.
Me- I havent got af yet from the m/c. Its been almost 4 weeks since the bleeding stopped. So am going to give it another week if it goes back to my 36 day cycle. I feel like shes coming. I had a few streaks of blood in my cm the other day and thought this was it, but nudda! Also have been running. I ran for 30 minutes straight which is almost 5kms. Feeling good...just need the kgs to drop off...must be my eating habbits! Ok better run:)
-
Jen - I couldn't bf but one of my g/f had horrid problems with her daughter, she couldn't eat tomato without serious nappy rash.
Lil - no good on the spending. I'm the culprit in this house though :( And anyhows, if the money goes on the CC then you can always pay the emergency bill on the CC, else most accounts have a 14-day settle don't they?
Mel - wow, Pip's still in size 1 shirts and size 2 pants! Although they're all getting short, but size 3 pants hang off him something chronic. Well done on the running, are you going to enter Run for the Kids? There's a 5km course, it'd be a great accomplishment!
Us - same ol' same ol'. AF came Thursday. Doc worried about my thyroid levels, he's now decided to get them sorted before I (hopefully) get UTD. Interesting that my GP brought this up, my OB didn't even mention it when I was preggers with Pip. DH has been taping Chuggington, we now have 40 episodes of it! I wish we could find some Chuggington tshirts or other merchandise for Pip though, he just loves it.
Have a good day all.

Hey All,
Thanks for the BF info - I mean I expressed the bjesus out of my boobs with Beau and never seemed to get a problem with the milk and his reaction - maybe it was a co-incidence with Archie and the coffee/chocolate with his 6 week growth spurt?
Far out Kel, you eliminated heaps from your diet with Liam! I'm not sure about living without chocolate but diary is my life! Almost as much as carbs he he! How is DH going with the posting search?
Mel- Any decisions on the work/cc debate? We got the first baby bonus payment today and that will take the pressure off us for a while hopefully! Yep just put a pic of Archie smiling on FB - cant beleive he is smiling already!!!!
Kaz- Wow Pip is little still! Beau is in 3/4's too! You must be grateful when he wants to be picked up! Gosh how irritating is the Chuggington song? Sticks in your head all day!
Us- We are going ok, definately having my moments with Beau, he is a different kid since Archie came home, acting out so much more. He has had some whopper tantrums and a few smacks too - I am pretty calm most of the time but he is suffering from the lack of attention I guess. I was so unprepared for this side of having two!
Kris - How are you feeling hun? How long to go now/ Soon for you!
-
Well I've found Chuggington is "coming soon" to Target ... I don't mind the song, it's better than "Party in the USA" which I managed to evict after humming it for 3 days!
Hope all's calming down for you Jen. Kris, how's the belly? Must be getting so excited! Let me know if there's anything we can do to help!
Mel - how's the running, I'm so proud of you!
Us - same ol', same ol'. Except Pip told DH that he (Pip) had a "hard-on" the other morning, and asked if Daddy had a "big one" too! So we're studiously ignoring that comment ...
-
Thats too funny Kaz....Olivia is obsessed with willies! She tells us that daddy has a big one and that her twin friends have small ones! The other day I found her looking at my pg book and she found the pictures of the babies with little willies! They are funny things arent they!
Jen, Archie is beautiful and you look fab! Fantastic on the bf'ing though. I had already given up at this stage!
Olivia is in her single bed now and has slept through every night. It is so comfy that I fall asleep on it too...thats a good thing! As for the running, I havent doen any for almost a week. Its been way too hot and I dont know if I could manage running. The weather is supposed to be cooling down soon so will take it up then. I can do 30 minutes...i am stoked! As for the work issue...still unresolved. Am thinking I will just have to bight the bullet and do weekends. That way, I get to financially contribute and Adam gets to spend more time with the girls (the car has gone back up to #1atm). Can feel some heated words coming soon about the amount of time he spends of that money sucking piece of.....mmmmm
Do any of your kids eat constantly? Olivia especially is always hungry. I feed her and 10 minutes later...mummy i am hungry. She eats so much...loads of fruit, yoghurt dried biscuits vegies. Some times she has muffins or a sweet bscuit, but its mainly good food. I just dont know if its normal! Shes been doing it for a while!
Still waiting for af....so hanging to go and by a hpt, but really I should just wait. Its probably just my body taking its time....oh and the other thing is my hair keeps failing out. I have some serious malting issues....any suggestions?
Kris...how are you? Have you got your new car yet? Yes, anything you need a hand with? I wonder if we will be able to see you before jaydens arrival? You are so busy...super woman!
-
Jen, it's so hard to make time for the tow of them isn't it? On one hand you want to get to know your new little person and have snuggle sall day with them, but on the other hand you want to do things with your big little man too. To focus on him a bit and have time with him. You can feel so torn. I know the conundrum well. It's easier now they are bigger and play together alot I can spend time with both of them together. As well as them playing on their own pretty well too, so I can play with one or the other or do stuff that needs doing like washing dishes....
Kaz, we love chuggington in our house too. Lily is the one who likes it most, she loves Thomas too. She loves her tv! She would watch alllll day if we let her.
Lil's still in size 2's, some 3's for shirts/tops, but mostly 2's for pants/shorts/skirts. 3's are still big for her and fall down if she's not wearing a belt.
And so begins the male penis obsession, huh?? Liam is starting to notice his already. His hand shoots down there as soon as his nappy is off. And when he has nappy free time, he's always touching it! I suppose it's inevitable!
Mel, Olivia is already noticing penis'?? I mean if she were a boy then ok, I guess they can't help but notice it, it's attached lol! But, wow! Lily has no clue. She looks at Liam's occaisionally, but not really in an interested kind of way, just a 'hmmm, that's different' kind of way, lol! She does, however notice boobies! She tells me every morning when I get dressed- I have big boobies and she has little boobies and Liam and Da don't have boobies because boys don't have them. And Liam has milk from my boobies. This is what I hear every.single.morning.
Yes Lily eats constantly. All day she's asking me for food. Just this morning, since 6.30 she has had- a peanut butter and honey sandwich (her best favourite, or so she tells me!), a box of sultanas, a whole punnet of strawberries, a drink of soy milk, and about 200mls of 70/30 diluted juice. Just now she's also eaten 1/2 of Liam's peanut butter sandwich which he didn't eat too. She eats ALLLLLL day! For dinner last night she had a whole sausage, about 4 tablespoons of pumpkin/potato mash, some pasta, and 1/4 large cob of corn. Then later before she went to bed, she had another whole sausage, 1/2 punnet of strawberries, some of DH's yohurt (about 1/3 of a tub), plus her 350ml bottle of water. I think she had 3 wafer bickies in there too. P-I-G-G-Y!
Mel, how's thing's going, how's work? How are your lovely little ones? I imagine you're busy!
Kris, how are you and your beautiful boys? Any luck with the car hunting? How's your bubby in belly going? Gosh that time is going soooo fast! You're nearly ready to pop!
Ok, gotta get ready for the day. Hope all is well.
-
Well its good to see that its not just me who seems to be feeding them constantly! Seriously though, how can they be hungry? Must be all that growing. As for the penis obsession, Olivia has been obsessed with her dads because they will all have a bath together...dh, liv and bec and earlier on in the piece she noticed and tried touching it several times, so we had to explain! She still stares at her dads and has the odd moment of trying to touch it...but most of the time she just happy to look at him while hes showering or going for a wee...nothing like privacy hey. She knows boys have penisis girls have vaginas and boobs and that babies come out of mummies tummies. She nows the real names for body parts but calls them willies and ginies! Picks up a lot of stuff!
Well they are both at occassional care thismorning, so better get cleaning. Today was the first time Olivia didnt want to go and both her nad ec screamed as I left...so i had some tears!
-
Hellllooooo!!! I'm here - I'm soooo sorry I've been mia for ages...been neglecting my poor forum friends and missing out on all the chatter!!!!
I'm not going to try and catch up tonight...need an early night...am a bit sleepy - I even fell nodded off this arvo for 10-15min - LOL!
All good here!!! About 5-6 weeks to go...very exciting and nerve wracking of course! I've been feeling quite good after going to the chiro every week - she's helped my back sooooo much!!
Car shopping is going ok...have a couple we're looking at at the moment but nothing solid yet...hopefully in the next week or so cross fingers. We're looking at the chyrsler grand voyager and I must say I'm in love with it! It even has buttons on the keys that open the side doors - LOL!! Very fancy...hehe.
Been busy with the kids - Louis has started 4yo kinder 3 days a week as well as swimming, drama and sports class, Dylans doing sports class and Ethans doing gymbaroo!! Lots of running around but they're really enjoying it! Dylan cracked it when we had to get Louis from kinder today and I had to wake Ethan up so that's the only downside - they get very sick of being in and out of the car.
They're going so well though! Dylans doing so well on the computer and with his learning and talking. He's recognising most letters now and counting really well and is still mad for puzzles...I need to get him the next level up now so will probably be looking for a 100 piece for his b'day..I know it sounds crazy, but even the 48 piece he's working out relatively easily...funny little thing.
Ethan's growing up fast too - running around and really trying to get his words together! I can't believe how fast the time goes!!
Anyway...I've got a bit of a sore throat so I'm hoping I don't get sick!!! That's the last things i need - I had a migraine on Sat so that wiped me out so hopefully I stay healthy!
Hope you guys are all well!
Jen - how are you going with bubs and beau??? Hope you're all settled in now...
Kel - How's your sleep going?? Hope the kids are settled for you!
Mel - How are the girls?? How are you going - are you ttc again now? Gosh - we must organise a catch up - what were the days you were free again??
Kaz - How are you going with ttc? How's Pip? Hope he's past his biting stage for you!! Would love to see you soon!
Dis - How are you going??
Ok - beddy byes for me! Sweet dreams everyone! xo
-
Hello ladies,
It's been so quiet around here!! You must all have lives, lol. I have been awiating for someone to write something I can respond to, hehehe!!
Well, we are doing ok. Kids are pretty good....same old same old. Work has been a bit stressful, we went through accreditation Monday and yesterday, meaning we had someone at our centre watching our every move and evaluating our service and interactions with the children. We are a great centre, but it's always nerve wracking having someone breathing down your neck! Plus we had to prepare a heap of paperwork and other preparations so it's been a stressful few months. My back and neck are killing me because I have been so stressed out. I need a massage! I might get one tomorrow, I should be earning a bit of extra $$ so I might treat myself to a massage and pedicure....ahhh, heaven!
Kris, our sleeping has settled mostly, thanks. We had a few horrific nights there, with Liam waking up for an hour at a time through the night with his teeth. Resulting in one tired and very grumpy mumma! Even nurofen didn't seem to help him much, poor little man. But they have cut now, except one (this time, he's been getting 5 at a time!) so he's been better. Now it's just the 2yr old molars to go....
Good luck with the car hunting. We would love a new car, but it's not going to happen for a while. Our car is about 12/3yrs old I think!! But she's a good little old car :) I can't believe how busy your boys are! Wow, I don't have Lily in anything, but I will be starting her in dancing this weekend. She so loves dancing! And I would like to get swimming lessons started for them both too. They are both such water babes and Liam will jump into any body of water without hesitation. Lily is more cautious and will wait for an adult to go near deep water, but Liam is fearless! But for us it's a matter of affording it at the moment. Mum said she would help with paying for Lil's damcing so we could probably affors the swimming, but it's so exxy! And it's the initial outlay of a few hundred $$ that we don't have! But it's worth it for swimming lessons.
Well, I have a week off work next week. We are going to Bourke to visit. There is a position going there that DH has applied for, so we could be moving in the next few weeks/months!! He has to actually be accepted for the position first, so we might not be going, but it's likely he will get a position in that area of NSW anyway if we are going to go remote, so we thought a little holiday would be a good opportunity to go and have a look. I have never been out that far. It's a 9ish hour drive which I'm not looking forwards to. We will stop overnight half way, but that's still 5ish hours with stops.... the kids are good in the car though and we have the car DVD thingo, so hopefully it will be ok. We have gone to Canberra which is a 3 hour drive so we should be ok. Any suggestions though for a long car trip???
Ok gotta go and get lunches and iron and do that daily stuff.....oh the monotony, ick!!
-
Yay, some ones posted! I am the same Kel...wait for someone to post so I can reply! I check in every day.
Kel- Bourke hey...thats a big drive. I hope you like it and I hope dh gets a job there. As for the drive, we have only been 5 hours max drive with the girls. We just tried to work in with sleep time and dh has hooked up his lap top and dvd player so we pop that on. I also take books and pencils and lots of snacks. Have a great time. Hows the weight loss going? Are you running yet?
Kris- great to hear from you. You are such a busy woman. Are you ever going to slwo down? Throw me some of that energy:) I dont have the girls in anything. Except occassional care. We have that 2 days a week, mums on tuesdays and mothers group wdnesdays. It keeps us busy. I was looking at callesthenics or gymnastics for Liv. Also would like them to get into swimming. Just looking at $$ now. Hope you get your car soon. Did you look at the one in Mill Park?
Hi Mel, Kaz and Jen...hope youre all well.
As for us...girls are going well. Olivia is in her single bed and has slept fantastically in it. Yesterday she fell asleep for 20 minutes in the car and I struggeled to get her to bed by 930 last night. Shes growing so big and her language is great. I must get her onto whatever Dylans doing on the computer. Rebecca is great too. Her sleep is crap at the moment. I think shes about to cut her eye teeth. Her poo is revolting and burns her bum. Shes walking/running/climbing. Her words are coming along, so much so the other night Adam and I heard her say clearly as she was screaming in her cot...i want to get out....twice! I have since heard her say get out while shes in there. She hates going to bed at the moment and its taking her and hour and a half just to go to sleep at night. Hopefully tetth will change it all!
We finally got our completed house plans back today after 4/5 months of being stuffed around. Now we are sending them off for quotes and hopefully within the next 2 to 3 weeks we should have a price...then bank then build! Yay!
As for the ttc.... well! I hadnt got Af back from the m/c. We just went for it like rabbits! My hair has been falling out and then over the weekend my nipples were burning, I have been weeing a lot and am a bit tired. So i tested on Monday...wouldnt you know it...BFP. Then again yesterday...BFP. Its very strong. The positive line came up before the wee covered the window and before it got to the control line. Its so much darker than the control line too. And compared to the tests that I did with the m/c, its very different. I am not excited yet, not going to get too excited. I have booked in an appointment to see my gp next tuesday. I will definately need to have a scan because I have no idea how far I would be. I did have some blood stained c/m at the start of the month, so ? implantation bleeding? I suspect I am 5 weeks along. I feel different to the m/c with more symptoms. I actually feel pregnant. Scared! I havent told anyone yet, just a few different threads here. I wont make an announcement til the scan. Its kind of funny because my friend whos son is 2 days older than Becca, she also had a m/c at the same time as me. Then on tuesday morning over the net she asked me to do a test....shes also pregnant again! Anyway. thats me. I am utd again. No telling anyone though;)
I have been on a health food kick which I will continue within reason. Just changing my eating habbits, lest high carb foods and more salads/green vegies. Our family diet consists of way too much potato, rice and pasta. So am hoping to eat really sensibly and not gain a stack of weight. I finished the c25k but havent been for a run. Am trying to do other stuff to (paranoid about bouncing out a baby). Lots of walking.
Oh I have written an epic. Wish me luck:)
-
OMG, Mel, wooohooooo!!!!! Congrats babe, how exciting! :confetti:
-
Hey Kel...thanks...my question to you....have you changed your signature again? You know that last line? I thought it was the end of 2010.....?
-
LOL, not for a while Mel. DH decided that if we've moved by then, or near to it, then we can ttc. Really the only thing stopping us at the moment is living here. We just can't afford another baby living here. Living in the sticks we can. Plus the deal was I lose at least 10-15kg before another bub, and well that seems to be going nowhere! I do need to lose weight before getting pg. I had enough trouble with my back carrying Liam and I was 10kg lighter then and only had one baby! I was good today, then got home and DH brought doritoes. I had a few more than I should have, but less than I normally would. I was going to go swimming too, but I have another migrane and I'm feeling nausious again, think I might have an ear infection, so no swimming today. Maybe in the morning. Hopefully I'll feel better then.
-
Woohoo!!! Congratulations Mel!!! I know your not being excited but I'm excited for you! LOL! Crossing fingers and toes for you that everything goes well! xoxoxox
Poor Becca and her toothy pegs...Ethans still got the 6 he had before he turned 1 and no sign of any others just yet! LOL! Hope her sleep settles down for you soon...
Yeah on the health kick - you've been doing so well to stay so motivated with it all! I'll be looking to get fit once the first few months with bubs is over with and summer looks to be on its way again...no point pushing too hard too early. Also, I've only put on 7kg so far this p/g so not going to badly anyway!!
How great your house plans are starting to move forward!!!
No car just yet...Michaels going to Mill Park tomorrow...and we may check out that one at Narre warren...there were a couple of good ones in a car yard but they were just too expensive...it's quite scary spending so much on a car - we've never done that before! LOL!
Kel - You poor thing - hope you feel better soon!!! How exciting going on holiday to check out a new place to live! I don't really have much advice regarding the driving - the most I've driven with the kids is about 3 hours...they're normally good - they snooze and snack...we don't even usually do many toys etc...will be interesting driving to qld next year with 4 of them - LOL!
LOL - we've got a 96 fairmont at the moment but we just can't fit all the kiddies in with bubs arriving soon! We've always had older cars - it's never really worried me really...as long as it's reliable and comfy!!
Had a super busy day today and actually dozed off for 20min this afternoon again...it's all catching up on me I think! LOL! So will have an early night tonight and another busy day tomorrow and then our "weekend starts" - we don't have so much on Fri - Mon...It's just catch up and chill out time!!
Chat soon!
-
oh wow Mel, that's brillo news!!!
Kris - if only I could bottle your energy!!!!
us - yeah still TTC no luck.
-
Catch up and chil out time sounds like the plan. Thanks Kristie... I am excited and nervous, so glad someone can get excited for me. I wont be saying anything to the family just yet. If I can hang out til I am 12 weeks all going well, then that would be great. I am not supprised we managed to catch the egg with the amount of bding we have done! Finally I get some relief!
Adam is in sydney from tonight until sunday. so doing it alone again. hoping the girlsbehave for me. Rebecca is still awake in her cot tonight despite being put to bed 45 minutes ago! Olivia fell asleep on the couch so that wasnt too hard
Kris...we must catch up. Fridays are great for me or can do weekends:) Let me know. Think I might have an early one....hope Becca will go to sleep soon
-
Kaz...posted at the same time.... hows things? How is pip?
I wish i could bottle some of Kristies energy too!
typing in the dark here...
-
Morning!
Kaz - Hope it all happens for you soon! Big hugs to you...I'm not sure how long it's been for you guys now but have you thought of IVF??? I hope it doesn't offend you for me to say that...I just know my brother & SIL were trying for 12m and then got p/g first go on IVF!! Takes a lot of the stress away that's for sure...xoxo
Mel - LOL at all your bding - and you say I have energy!! LOL!! I can tell you not much of that's going on in this house at the moment!! Big hugs being home alone for the next few nights...do you find you get used it?? I cope better now when Michaels away than I ever used to but it's still lonely...
Fridays are good - Where do you want to meet up?? Happy to have you here but it's up to you!
Another busy day - Louis has brightstars so I'll take the kids to the library while he's there (some of theses classes are so awkward when I've got all 3 kids with me and there's not much else around to do while we're waiting!) and then he scoffs lunch in the car and heads to kinder for the arvo. Michaels heading out to look at a car this arvo so I'll have to do kinder pick up as well. It's not such a stress but it's just getting the kids in and out of the car all day that's a bit tiring (for me and them - LOL!) Can't wait til I have my mummy van!! Hehehehe.
Ok - better organise brekky...
Chat later!
-
Maybe thats why I dont have energy during the day!!! I cope well with Ad being away, especially since I have the girls in a good routine. Last night I got 10 hours sleep...it was a little broken....the dog was the main reason!
Great Fridays it is. I cant do tomorrow because I just booked in for a dating scan. I wasnt due to go to the drs til tuesday but caved in and made an appointment today. Mainly because I feel crap! My vision is bad, everything is blurry. I think its because I wake up tired. I feel sick in the stomach and have lower back ache. I was getting bad cramps in the front of my leg last night. Must be a good sign ....yeah?
How about next Friday? I will bring the girls over to you, just so you dont have to leave the house:) Let me know if it suits.
-
Just an update...thought I would go in to see the gp today to make sure I havent got a uti...I dont! The pg test he did came up positive straight away. I got my bloods taken and my hcg levels are 8482, which indicates that I am somewhere between 6 and 7 weeks pg!!! So am going to have a scan tomorrow to have a look and hopefully see a beating heart and give me an edd! Its all very exciting now! Just to give you a comparison on my m/c pregnancy, my levels reached maximum of 750ish...so its a good sign:) And I feel ordinary today! Ok I am getting a little excited WOOOOHHOOOO
-
Hi!
Woohoo - All sounds great Mel - Yeah on having a scan tomorrow - look forward to hearing how it all goes!!
(maybe there's 2 in there???)
Next Friday for a catch up will be great!!
Must go and pick Louis up from kinder...Chat later!
-
Yayyyy Mel, so glad to hear things seem to be all good hun!!!
-
I couldnt get on to BB all yesterday for some reason! I had my scan, all was well. She was able to see it from the outside and a heartbeat too, but the machine couldnt pick up the heartbeat, so she did the "dildo cam". I am measuring 5 weeks 3 days. So effectively the day I stopped bleeding is sort of what you would classify as my LMP going on a due date of 18th October. So she saw the heart beating and it was a bit slow, however she reassured me that it was ok because its more than likely that the heart has just started to beat. She said I was on the borderline of seeing it or not...so I am lucky. I got pregnant off my right ovary, which sounds right because I had pains there! So I am feeling somewhat confident! Especially with high hcg levels. Anyway better move...my girls are making a mess!
-
Oh Mel - that's sooo great!!! I'm so happy for you! You know once they see a heartbeat all the risk factors go down by like 95%!!! Very exciting!!!
Kids were up early today and I woke up really cranky and had a meltdown - LOL! Poor dh did so well though and let me have a teary and said all the right things so for the meantime I'm feeling much better. Stupid hormones...I've got nothing to be cranky or cross about it just feels so out of my control - like I"m majorly pre-menstrual...anyway - I hate feeling like this and hopefully will snap out of it soon!!
I'm feeling super tired as well which isn't helping...dh kindly pointed out that he doesn't think I've been this tired and cranky before in p/g but then I've probably never been so busy either and never had 3 kids to run around after while being p/g!! LOL! Anyway...I'm sure I'll be fine! Just need to make sure I get a bit of rest before bubs arrives I think...
Anyway...looking forward to a chilled out weekend. Louis has sport this morning but Michaels home from work so I only have to take him not all of the boys...then we're just pottering around the house - dh has got to build a carport for his cortina because I've finally convinced him that the new car is going in the garage!! Will be soooo nice! I'm sure it will stay much cleaner and will be so nice to have a cool car to hop into!!
Anyway...better go and do some stuff I suppose...hope you all have a fantastic weekend!! Chat later!
-
Mel, I'm so glad to hear things are good and bubs has a h/b! That must have eased your mind a little. I hope you can relax a bit now and enjoy it all.
Kris  I can remember those emotional breakdowns. There is nothing like them! Feeling so out of control over your emotions and crying just beacuse! Glad you're feeling better though, I hope it lasts!
I don't know how you do everything you do! It wouldn't surprise me if you were a bit exhausted. Maybe it's time to slow down a bit and relax a little before bub comes. Let DH do things for you and try not to rush around so much!! I get exhausted just reading about what you do, lol!
Well, as for me....we go to Bourke on Monday. Well, Dubbo actually, overnight and then onto Bourke. I've never been out that far, it will be good. Though hopefully the kids are ok in the car. I think they will be, we will leave at 11am (ish) and they will have thier day nap in the car, hopefully for at least an hour. then we will stop for lunch after driving for about 2 1/2 hrs and the kids can run around a bit, then another 2-3hrs to Dubbo. We will have the dvd player in the car, so it should be ok. They are tv addicts and Lily will sit and watch a whole episode of Playschool or Dora, which is 1hr. Such a life saver at dinner time!
Well, I have an ear infection and vertigo. It feels horrible, like my ear is full of water which is sloshing around and making me off balance. If I move too fast it seems like the room is spinning. Luckily it's not paiful though. Should make folding clothes, vaccing and mopping today fun...not!

Thanks girls...yes very reasring to see the hb! Plus the symptoms I am having! All very exciting now. Just need to keep it a secret for as long as possible! Mum cam e and looked after the girls yesterday while I went for the scan! She thought I was having a follow up from the m/c. I just want to get through the next few weeks and maybe by Olivias b'day I will tell them. I think its about 6 weeks til her b'day, so maybe I can have my 12 week scan and then announce:)
Kris- it doesnt supprise me that you had a melt down! You have taken on so much this term and in your last trimester. You basically dont stop all week. I know you know this. You really should be trying to slow down a bit. You have 3 young children and nearly a full term bub. I honestly dont know how you do it! Try and rest up. You really do need it before life becomes super busy and chaotic with a newborn. Are you going to be doing all these activities when Jayden comes along?? Ok enough of my lecturing....I do mean well... I just dont want to see you run yourself to the ground.
Kel- hope you feel better soon. That must be a terrible feeling. HAve a great trip too. Am sure you will enjoy yourself.
MMmm..I dont know whats going on but my eyes are blurry. Must have low bp. Think I need a cup of tea! Adam comes home tomorrow. Yay! I have had a good run with the girls, except this morning I yelled at Olivia in particular. Breakfast lasted for for more than an hour. I am so sick of her every 5 minutes being hungry. She had crumpets, half a punnet of cherry tomatoes and a tub of yoghurt, then a cheese stick. Is that not enough? I made her wait 30 minutes after yelling at her. She sobbed the whole time and kept saying "I'm hungry mummy". Shes having water as well. I dont know what to do. So at 10am I gave her strawberries, grapes and a teddy bear bscuit. Any ideas? Rebecca eats just as much! I hope that she can last til lunch because i will snap! I know shes growing...but this is grr. Last night before bed she had 2 crumpets...coz 1 wasnt enough! Plus her milk and I think she also pinched a banana! As well as dinner!
Luckily I dont have boys!

Mel, Lil is the same. This morning she had a vegemite sandwich, half of my cornflakes, an egg on toast. With in about 1 1/2hrs. Then wanted more. I told her no that she has to wait. I'm going to try teaching her to wait for food. Last night she had a big bowl of spaghetti, a long bread roll with half peanut butter and half vegemite, half a punnet of strawberries, some milk and water, and 3 little wafer biscuits. Within 2hrs. That is alot of food for a little kid and she needs to learn to wait. It's not like I'm starving her. She will alos sob and cry like she's never eaten before, but it's time she stopped demanding stuff and getting everything she asks for.
-
I'm wondering if this is a phase or just that they need to learn to control their....i dunno I am at a loss! Olivia has just raided the cupboard and got popcorn out! Its only been 1 and aquarter hours since she had morning tea. She cant wait for lunch. Am I being to soft or should I just put a lock on the cupboard? Oh and she also had another banana!
-
Woohooo, looks great Mel! YAY!!!
Kris - no offense hun, the doc's going to reassess in March if I'm not UTD by then. After all, I'm currently 38 and Trev's 47 ...
Pip is so cute! We do the whole "kiss it better" thing, and yesterday evening we were walking around Sherbrooke Forest and he was complaining he had a sore head (we thought he bumped it) and he kept asking us to kiss his hair better.
Then a little while later he asked me to kiss his chin better, but kept moving his chin up until I was kissing his neck. That continued until it occured to me to ask where his neck hurt - inside! So he had a sore throat, but couldn't tell us, only that he had a sore neck that needed to be kissed better :)
Same as when he had a tummy ache, he told us he needed moogoo on his tummy to make it all better :)
Aren't they just the cutest?

Hi!
Feeling much better this arvo...kids are very tired and feral though so hopefully will have a sleep - Ethans fighting it and we've put Dylan down so cross fingers he'll sleep...
Louis is chilling out watching tv...
I know I've commited to heaps this term but I just want the boys to have some fun before bubs comes along! Ethan won't be doing gymbaroo after the baby arrives and the rest of the activities we'll be playing by ear...
I guess I don't want them to miss out because we've got so many kids iykwim?? It was very easy with just the 2 of them to take them here there and everywhere for activities and I just don't want it to be too different now that another babies on it's way. Louis has had babies arrive one after the other and has been such a great big brother and he is such a responsible boy I want him to be able to be rewarded!! Also, he goes to school next year so this is my last year with him at home - where has the time gone??
Anyway.... I'll be right - just needed a good teary I think!!
As for dh, he really is so super supportive!! I can't complain there at all really...
I really do appreciate all your support guys!! xo Means a lot to me that I can come on here and vent and have you guys listen (as such!) Don't have much of that in my family that's for sure!!
Kel - Have an aweseome trip!!! I hope the kids go ok in the car! The dvd should help I would imagine - I always wondered if they'd get car sick watching it??
Hope you feel better soon too - I've never had an ear infection so I can only imagine what a horrible feeling it would be!!!
Mel - Fair enough keeping it quiet for a while - hopefully the time will go super fast!! Yeah at Adam being home tomorrow - that will be nice for you!
In regards to food...it would do my head in getting food all the time as well...I majority of the time do brekky, snack, lunch, snack and dinner...Occassionally I will give Ethan a bikkie or a bit extra because he's fussy with s/wiches at lunch but other than that, that's it!!
So for my 2 big boys it's normally - banana, yog and 2 x toast for brekky, piece of fruit or such for snack, s/wich and choccy milk for lunch, muffin or fruit or bikkies or combo for aft snack and then dinner with sometimes a cordial/juice but most often just water. Obviously this varies but that's basics...if they ask for more I say it isn't snack time or it isn't lunch time and that's that. They're offered water in between those times if they're hungry - oh and if they don't eat their lunch it goes in the fridge and they can eat it later - I'm not going to all that trouble just to throw it out that's for sure. I also find it's best if they're hungry for dinner because then they have a big meal and are happy. I never make them finish their plate I just ask if they've had enough and if their tummy's happy...if they don't eat much I just tell them there's no more food so they may as well eat what's there! LOL! I probably sound like a mean mummy but it makes like much much easier!!
I must say that they def don't have free access to the pantry/fridge for helping themselves...if they want something they ask...the only time they get their own stuff is in the early am when they both grab a yoghurt each to eat if I'm still in bed or in the shower...
Personally I think it's important that they learn to regulate within reason what they're eating but most importantly that they don't learn to eat as something to do when they're bored or are not sure what else to do...such a bad habit us adults get into that if we can help them avoid that when they're young it's got to be of a benefit!!
Anyway...enough of my rambling - good luck with it Mel - I'm sure you'll work it out!!
Kaz - Great to hear from you! Here's hoping your utd by March but otherwise it's great to know you have another option!! I'm all for it for people when you see the stress they go under ttc...big hugs to you guys - hope it all happens soon anyway!! xo
Pip sounds very cute with his sore throat and sore tummy! (hmm that sounds odd - LOL) They're all getting so big now!!
Ok, better go - I have the most feral house but can't really be bothered cleaning it - might get a load of washing on though while the weathers so hot and windy!!
Chat later!

Its funny Kristie...up until a couple of months ago I would have that same routine. I dont know how that went out the window. Do you lock your fridge? I dont want to lock everything because I want them to be responsible enought to go in and get things. I suppose for me its a good learning process and I have to find what works! I am wondering if she has worms! I think i just need to be more disciplined!

Hi ladies, so lovely to hear from everyone!!
Mel, I have been giving Lily what ever food she asks for, or if she says she's hungry, I give her something to eat, even if it's close to meal time. But I am starting to stop this. She isn't allowed to go to the cupboard for herself and I have locks on the fridge and cupboards they can reach. I am teaching her to ask to go to the fridge. At my mums she will go to the fridge and cupboards on her own and I make her put whatever back and ask mum first. I was never allowed to take anything from the fridge without asking first, and at almost 32 I still don't!!
I had beengiving her what she wants with the thought that she knows when she's hungry and will eat, which she was, she was just a grazer, but now she's telling me she's hungry 5mins after she's eaten a big meal. There's no way she would be hungry every time she says she is! I will be regulating her food more now. I don't mind her grazing, but I won't be giving into her every whim now, particularly near dinner time, I'm so sick of cooking and they don't eat it! Like Kris says, she needs to learn about hunger and regulate their own food intake. Now is a good time for us to do that here. I think sometimes she is definately eating out of boredom. I need to challenge her more!
Kaz, how cute of Pip needing his tummy and neck kissed better. It's actually quite clever that he could identify that it's sore and needs to be kissed better, especially his throat, a sore throat is kind of hard to identify, lol! I hope he's feeling ok today.
And good luck with ttc for the next few months, I will cross everything for you!
Kris, glad you're feeling better now, sometimes a good cry is so cathartic!!
Ok gotta go and try to sort my house out before we go away tomorrow!

Hi!
Had a lazy morning this morning - no sleep in but have spent so some time lazily reading...won't be doing too much for the rest of the day either! LOL!
Dh and I chilled out last night and watched a movie as well which was nice...
Mel - Nup no locks on the fridge/pantry - but then the boys have never got into it...
Kel - Have a great trip away - looking forward to hearing about it when you get back! Drive safely!
Enjoy your Sunday's!!
-
you see i have locks on everything. Olivia was terrible right from the word go and would get into stuff. Rebecca is just the same! I dont have a lock on the pantry or the fridge...well i do on the fridge but we dont use it. Olivia has the door open every 5 minutes...i'm hungry mummy! I have had a really crap day with her and food. More sobbing, I have made her wait. She just stands at the fridge with the door open, trying to climb the shelves. Then becca gets into it too! I'm quickly loosing it in reguards to this whole hunger issue. I think I need dh home...5 more hours!
Today I have tried hard to sort through the endless amount of toys we have. So far I have chucked 2 bags in the bin and have a huge bag for the op shop. I still have loads inside and dont know what to get rid of. I am also over the girls having so much stuff that they hardly play with. I think if I got rid of most of it they would hardly notice.I hate clutter it drives me mad. Tomorrow I have more bookwork to do and once that is finished I am going to get down to business. We really need things sorted before we start the reno. especially seeing we are more than likey going to move out!
-
Hey Mel...sounds like persistance will be the key here - she's probably just pushing because she knows you'll give in!! (no offence of course!!) Have you tried distracting the girls with other things - such as let's go and do this first and then it will be snack time or 30min until lunchtime why don't you go and get some stories or colouring to do until then?? etc...Or even letting them know what the plan is for the day in advance - after brekky we're going to have some play time or art and craft and then we'll have a snack...then they know what's coming??? Just some ideas - I'm sure you'll find something that works for you guys!!
I hear you on the toys! I still haven't completely finished sorting out their stuff. I've got homes for most of everything but I still have a pile that needs to either be given away, thrown out, ebayed or we find a home for...They tend to play with most of their things if I draw their attention to it but when their room's a mess then they just don't know what to play with!
Speaking of which, I may go and have a sort out now while Ethans asleep and the boys are absorbed in playhouse disney on the computer!!
Chat later!

Hugs Mel. Olivia, Lily, Liam and Becca sound like they are all the same children. My kids are the same as yours. We have locks on everything too. I had locks on the kitchen cupboards since Lil was little but since Liam's been getting around, EVERYTHING has a lock on it, or the door to that room is closed (he can't open doors yet!), drawers, fridge, we have a barrier for the kitchen, plus locks on the cupboards in there. Lily will stand in front of the open fridge or cupboards if the locks aren't locked. She will pull things open and Liam joins in the fun too. I remember once whne I was pg she got into the fridge and pulled out the grapes, milk and vegemite. I was in the bathroom. She had it all everywhere! I have tried to teach them to just not go into places I don't want them to, to learn to be responsible but if I did that, all I'd be doing all day is saying- no, get out, go away, stop touching that...it's so so exhausting, and I just can't do it. So everything is locked. Today has been a good day for us though. She's had 3 pancakes, 1/2 vegemite sandwich, punnet of strawberries, and some milk and water. Oh and some 'parties' a little tube of mini M & M's as a treat. Lunch is yet to happen, they've been sleeping (yay!!) but it will be a ham cheese and avo sandwich and some diluted juice. Pasta for dinner, maybe yogurt/custard for dessert if they want (Liam is usually fine, he doesn't eat all of his food, ever! But Lil will eat more after dinner). Small snack at about 3.30ish I think, maybe more fruit and a muesli bar or something. I think that is soooo much food for a 2 3/4yr old!
Kris, glad to hear you're taking it easy today. We're having a pretty lazy day at home too. If you can call cleaning and doing mountains of washing and dishes a lazy day! DH has another night shift tonight, which I absolutely HATE! The kids never sleep well when he's on a night shift. Well they don't sleep great when he isn't (Lil will sleep through now, but Liam is a nightmare still) but it's worse when he's not home, Lil wakes 2-3 times crying for him and Liam wakes more than usual.
We have too many toys here too. I went through them last night and put some away that the kids aren't using and got rid of the junky stuff like the old colouring books and broken toys. I try to rotate the toys occaisionally so they have 'different' toys every so often. I also find when I set them out nicely only the shelves and in the toy box, then the kids will be more constructive with them.
Ok gotta go and do things.....

Hi!
Had a pretty quiet day today which was nice! Took Ethan with me to the chiro this afternoon. He did pretty well considering he's a little wriggle worm. Dylan had a meltdown this arvo and I put him on our bed for time out for a minute and walked back in to get him out and he'd fallen asleep! Hopefully he goes to sleep ok tonight though as that was about 3.30pm he fell asleep...obviously needed it though!!
Kids managed to keep their rooms tidy today which I'm sooo happy about! Hopefully they keep it up!!!
Kel - Have a great trip!
Mel - How are you feeling??
Hi to everyone else!!
-
Kristie it must have been an arvo for meltdowns. Olivia had one tonight over dinner. She told me she didnt like it and she was going to put it on the floor...then the bin! Then she screamed for about 45 minutes after that. I tried putting her to bed for a rest, on the couch...nope. I settled her with some mickey mouse! So tonight she had a few pieces of steamed broccoli and caulifower. That was dinner. Then I gave in and made her a milkshake. I was trying to be tough and say to her that she wouldnt get anything...especially a special treat for eating dinner...so she didnt get that. I dont like the idea of them going to bed hungry...I am a sucker! They are both out for the count now!
Time for a cuppa! I have been feeling somewhat unwell! Moreso with this pregnancy than with the girls. I just feel crap. My stomach is sick, I feel dizzy, hungry tired, my nose is snotty. I dry wretched making lunches this morning. I eat to feel better then I feel yuck. I suppose its a great sign:) How are you feeling?
