Willow - what's the teeth count now? Don't have any suggestions with food as you are way ahead of me. Actually you have given me some inspiration. Cass - how many kids would be your ideal number? Sometimes I think another would be nice but realise I have my hands full with the 2 I have and work etc. My biological clock is also ticking loudly...... Cheezel - glad that Moo is back eating. The pamper session was lovely. We all agreed that we should do it again sometime. My mother's day present will be some sort of beauty salon voucher so I don't have too long to wait until my next pampering. Issy - I found a dream feed equals sleeping through too. The last few nights she has slept until 5 or 6am.
AFU - M is crawling about everywhere and pulling herself up. DH is going to have to lower the mattress in the cot as she is pulling herself up on it! She is also a major squirmy bub on the change table. I've got used to DS who just lies there now. I could really do with an extra two arms to pin her down.
Nothing much else happening. Have an eye infection at the moment so I look dreadful with a red swollen eyelid. Had to go to an after-hours Dr today. Don't these things always happen on a long weekend?
Cass - I didn't realise that your boys are from your DH's previous relationship(?) You never know what the future will hold. Maybe he will have a change of heart?!?!?!
Off to a zoo today with the kids, taking advantage of the public holiday. Hope everyone is enjoying the long weekend.
Hi everyone! Sorry I've been so slack and not been in here . Three kids makes it hard to sit down long enough to type a decent post!
Saffi - M sounds like she's doing so well! I have to think about lowering the cot mattress too, Alana is doing the same thing. It's so cute to see them standing up smiling at you when you go in isn't it?! I hope your eye clears up quickly .
MummeNurse - Wow, I am blown away that Eli can walk That's amazing!! And you sound like you have been SO busy, well done on doing a great job
Willow - D is a teething machine LOL! I'm so glad he is back to sleeping well again . Thanks for helping keep me sane the past week .
CheezelMonster - That must have been so stressful when your DS was refusing food. Was he unwell or could he be teething? My boys used to go off food for a while when they were teething.
Issy - Wow @ Lochie cruising! They are growing up too fast these babies! I hope the warm bottles have continued to improve his sleep!
Koru - Yay for Orla crawling! Good luck going back to uni, good on you!
Misty - Baz sounds like a very talented little guy! I hope you are filming it all!!
TT - How is work going?
AFU - Alana is going well although she has a bit of a cough atm. She's crawling so fast everywhere these days and she pulls herself up on everything. She is a NIGHTMARE to dress! She will not lie still and will roll over, try and pull herself up and complain at me. It's so frustrating! She's still a happy little thing, but is going through a separation anxiety phase atm. She loves to chat, give high fives and can wave, so cute! She also loves to put her head down and snuggle soft toys, it's so sweet to watch!
Our main problem with Alana is that she HATES the car . She will scream and cry after a short time and long trips are a nightmare. It took us 3 hours to get home from our Easter trip (due to bad traffic) and she was hysterical the whole time. When I got her out she was saturated from sweating. We have been planning a 6 week caravanning trip over to WA in September/October, but we are having second thoughts now. I don't fancy putting her (or us) through that for such a long period. I'm so dissapointed. I think we may have to wait another year when she's 2 years old and can be entertained easily in the car.
Saffi - we have 6 teeth now, another two showing but not yet through.
Trish - Awww, I know you were so looking forward to your trip! Do you think there's a chance she could improve between now and September? They can change so quickly. But I understand there's a lot of planning involved and just 'waiting and seeing' probably wouldn't be ideal! How much does she weigh now? Any chance that you might be able to face her forward soon-ish? I know it's not ideal but I do know some babies settle in the car once they are facing forward.
Issy/Saffi - Are you giving EBM in a bottle or formula?
Trish - my DD was like that in the car since newborn. Some things that I found calmed her (which aren't ideal, and many people probably wouldn't like) firstly music - playschool, etc, and secondly a portable DVD player. She was only a baby, but was completely mesmerised by this. obviously not ideal, but better then constant screaming and stress. She did improve once she was older (over 1) and music was enough.
Willow - formula. We down to 2 BFs a day now, first thing in the morning and either before or after dinner. If I do get up to her overnight I will give her a BF but I'm not sure if she's getting much or just comfort sucking. Either way it settles her and she goes back to sleep easily. Trish - oh no about the trip. No suggestions here as both mine are happy enough in the car. Turning her around may make the difference?
Eye does seem to be getting better. Still looked deformed tho LOL.
Had a great time at the zoo. My DS loved seeing all the animals and he will be talking about it for weeks to come. A lorikeet even sat on his head. Was too slow to get a photo of it, but same happened to DH and I got one of him.
Saffi - Glad you had fun in the zoo! Sounds like a great day out :
Willow - (i know you didn't ask, but thought I would put my two cents in hehe) I give my EBM in a bottle while i was on prac. (the tommee tippee booby looking one) ... But now the days arn't going to be as long, I am going to see how she will go just using a cup at her FDC...
Trish - Sorry about the trip, thats a bummer! Don't know what I could suggest! maybe some nice shining toys, mirror, music thingy in front of her?
Staffi - Yea, my two boys live FT with us, but biologically not mine :-) Could always dream :-)
Is anyone on FB? I have a video up of Eli walking, if you would like to have a look send me your details and i'll send it to you in a msg :-D Just make sure your msg's are available
