Alison - its awful to think of this bug sweeping through the house!! I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. I'm just hoping that what M had yesterday was the same thing and it just affected her differently. I'm actually wondering if it's the rotavirus they get vaccinated for which might be why it was so much milder for her. Don't you hate that third person baby talk that MIL's do? Mine does the same thing. It's so subtly undermining and difficult to say anything when they do it. Don't worry give her a good slap on bellybelly.
Hannah - I hope you're feeling a bit better. Try and rest and eat good food and drink lots of water. I think that's all you can do for viral things unfortunately.
Beany - I know a few people that have been really happy with family daycare. Maybe its a bit more of a normal environment too. I haven't even begun to think about it. I doubt I'll actually go back to work before number 2 but I'm going to put my name down anyway. Apparently its crazy trying to get daycare places in Sydney.
Rose - Colds suck! It's miserable having to plough on with them. I wish parent's were valued more too. It's such a full on job if you want to do it properly and give them all the time, stimulation, and love they need. I'm sure Liam will get more independent as he gets more and more mobile and is able to explore more. But then you're running after them anyway worrying they'll come to harm! A good reason to get away and do some work when you've got people there. But I know what its like. I'm the same. My aunt will leave and I'll think why didn't I do x, y and z while she was here instead of sitting around chatting.
AFM - well through the worst of it! Alison, you were right, pretty much 12 hours. I think I hit rock bottom at about 5pm and was asking M's godmother to shoot me but I've been on the mend gradually since then and I'm actually keeping some fluid down now which is good. I was starting to worry about the affect on my milk supply. Thank god it happened on a Saturday when DH was at home. I seriously couldn't look after M. I fed her and tried to spend a few minutes here and there with her but I was pretty much bed ridden for most of the day. That's the first time that's ever happened. Poor little thing wasn't sure what was going on and was a bit unsettled. It was nice to be missed but I hate seeing her unsettled. I am dreading giving it to M's godmother!!!! Timing sucks!!!! We've put her up at a hotel around the corner to try and minimise the chances but difficult...
