Lani sweetie - they are all natural feelings, everyone copes in their own way, my sister's husband cheated on her 3 years ago (they're coming up for their 25th wedding anniversary) and she forgave him but she still isn't over it and says things all the time, it's very awkward at times. Personally even if my ex gave me the choice I wouldn't have stayed either, I just don't think i could've ever trusted him again or looked at him the same again. Sometimes too much happens to go back. But, just give yourself some time, sometimes you just need time to reflect and think about things, you do have a child together now which makes things much more difficult. I am disgusted in him and if I was there I'd track him AND her down (what kind of woman would do this) and I'd make sure they never did it again. Sorry, as you can see I'm still, 10 years later, carrying the scars from being hurt the same way. Please call me if you need, but if you need some alone time i get that too, I didn't tell my family for 3 weeks because I was too ashamed, just told them he was away (which he was) - my situation was confirmed by a friend, not the nicest news to be told unexpectedly......but then after I had time to grieve and process things myself I had to talk talk talk so I'm here if you need. I'm so sorry this has happened to you both, b*stard. Sorry.

And Rose - how rude of me to not mention it earlier, I'm also very sorry and sad to hear about your dad, did you get to say goodbye? He really tried hard this past year didn't he. I know he's in a nice happy place now and he'll always watch over you with such a big and proud heart, let us know when you're up for another Perth girls visit, Beany and I will cheer you up. xx

Hi to everyone else, hope you have a Happy New Year, although it feels very wrong even suggesting it with all the horrible news lately. Love you all.

Oh and Tilda - you'll have to post pics of your bump when you announce it hee hee.
    xx

Just a quick one girls...is everyone's bub still on 2 day naps? I'm finding it harder and harder to get Michael down for his 2nd nap...he can be whingeing/playing for up to an hour in his cot before I go in and get him up. I didn't think they're meant to stop the 2nd nap just yet?

Hi Beany - I've been asking people the same question, Amelia is still on 2 naps but I think she's starting to transition as she's sleeping in longer and so can stay awake longer in the morning. Most of the girls in my mum's group bubs are just going to 1 day nap now, they say the average is 14 months give or take so it's pretty much on time really. I would just go with it, my friends who are are putting their bubs down at 11.30 for 2 hours so perhaps give it a go - no point fighting the inevitable and at least it gives you more time in the day to get out and about - although there goes going out for lunch! One of the books I have says the signs they're ready is them fighting going down so just start by decreasing his morning sleep so he's tireder if you don't want to drop it completely (ie wake him after 45 mins), and then after a couple of weeks drop the morning nap altogether and put him down at 11.30ish and he should sleep for a couple of hours. Hope that helps!

Hope everyone is well, Amelia is walking all over the place now so I spend my whole day chasing her around ha ha. Off to work tomorrow, groan groan groan.

    xx

Hi Beany Harry has still been having 2 day sleeps, but,the second one he's been having so late I'd rather he didn't! He's been falling asleep as late as 3-5pm which means he's up until between 10-12pm.
I tried today to get him to have an early sleep in the hope the second one wouldn't be too late. As it turned out he had a sleep at about 11.30am then didn't get tired again until about 4pm, so I managed to keep him awake and he went to bed at about 8.30pm I hope I can keep that going! Although I suspect it won't last as when the ILs have him while I'm at work they completely over stimulate him which is half the problem
I would be happy with one day sleep and an earlier bed time. DS1 had stopped having any day sleeps by the time he was 12 months, and wasn't in bed before midnight. DS2 was only having 1 day sleep at 12months but it was a good 2 - 3 hours, and then was in bed by 8pm at the latest not to be heard from again until morning. So I guess they're all different *exhausted sigh* DS2 really was a dream baby. . .

Hi Kanda - yay TTC #3 good luck! We are planning to start around April for number 2, I'd like 2 years or a tiny bit more between - only because I don't want another baby so close to Christmas, we already have 6 family bdays in December, don't think I could cope with another ha ha....would love a January 2012 baby so fingers crossed I don't take too long to fall! Bit scared about doing it all again and when you tell people you're having a 2 year gap they start giving you all the advice and it puts me off, but when I look at people around so many have kids with a 2 year gap so it can't be that bad ha ha ha! Anyway, keep us posted xx

Thanks for your replies, sorry for the short post, was stressing about the sleeping stuff (whats new?!)

Kanda - nice to see you in here again! gosh, I think there are more of us TTC or pg than not! Good luck! I think I'm going to give it another 6-12 months before TTC #2. Are you still looking for a house?

Alison - thanks for the advice. I think we have the same book! I read about shortening the morning sleep too...but I'm scared to because thats the sleep he goes down relatively easily for! I'll give it another week and see if he sorts himself out. I also read somewhere that they can have a sleep regression around 13-14 months which can last 4 weeks, after which they may return to normal 2 naps.

Willow - its amazing just how different babies can be! Sounds like DS2 really was a dream baby! 2-3 hours during the day would be lovely, imagine the stuff we could get done! What time does Harry usually get up in the morning?

AFM - I've been so busy the last few weeks, ever since Michael's bday really. Its only now I feel like I have some spare time! Michael took to his needles pretty badly. We actually suspect he was coming down with something the day of the needles, and that coupled with the needles themselves was just too much for him. He's been sick on and off for about 3 weeks So his walking was almost non-existant during that time, its only now he's starting to feel better he is trying to walk more.

Hmm...I attempted my first at-home hair cut for him...we bought some clippers in the sales. Went a little bit too short! Eeek! He looks like a skin-head! DH calls him 'Bruiser'. Oh well, it'll grow back. I'll use a longer attachment next time!

Hope you all had lovely Christmases. It was another stinker in Perth...always happens on Christmas Day. Good job I wasn't cooking!

Hi Beany - just see what happens, he might switch back like you say. Amelia's had a couple of weeks of not sleeping so well, she went back to the occasional wake after 45 minutes during the day, most of the time I left her and she'd go back to sleep but then she'd go back for another 1.5 hours so her entire day was out of whack then! Then she was waking at night around the usual 3.00 am, but the last 4 nights she's slept straight through no sound and sleeping till 7.30 am instead of her usual 6/6.30 am! I'm not complaining believe me. I don't know if it's Wonder Week or just starting to go into the next stage, either way I'm trying not to stress as there's not much I can do about it ha ha. Quite a few of the girls from my November forum told me their bubs have been on 1 day nap for months now......the girls in my mums group have just recently gone to 1 nap (they're 3-4 weeks older than Amelia) and the ones who are her age are either still on 2 or just starting to go down to 1 nap now. I was always told to keep it as long as you can because the sooner they go to 1 nap, the sooner they drop them altogether and I don't know about you but I enjoy my break, as much as I love Amelia and all! Sorry Michael was affected by his needles, Amelia didn't get anything at all, not even a temperature so we were very lucky. Hopefully he's on the mend again now.

AFM - Amelia's walking all over the place now so I spend most of my day chasing her around. Oh and I'm on my lunch break at the moment but I'm at work today and it sux, again!

    Hi everyone

    Just a quick one...

Lani Hope you're going ok, as ok as you can be don't forget to come in here and vent or get as much comfort as you want!

Rose Hope you're going ok too ...as much as chocolate helps you know we're here for you too

Alison work is a lot different a year on hey! I'm still trying to get a feel for all the changes and there's more coming with me oh well we'll see how we go...And it seems Amelia is waaay ahead of Harry not only in the talking department but the walking too go girl!

Beany Oh yeah I used to get heaps done while DS2 was asleep it was awesome! DS1 was great at independent play too so I could whiz around and get loads of stuff done. Harry is not good at either sleeping or independent play, so my house is pretty gross the majority of the time and I really struggle with it
As for getting up in the morning, he's always been a late riser. It depends a bit on when he goes to bed, but generally between 8 -9.30am sometimes 10 if I get him up earlier he is really grumpy! It's a good thing I can start work late, but some mornings are a bit pushed for time, and mood.

Hope all the pg mum's are well!
I'll catch up with everyone next chance I get.
I'm off to try and read some of my book I started about 3 months ago, before boob call.

    Hi everyone!

Sorry for being so MIa - I have been reading but was in the mountains with the worst internet connection ever and could not stay connected long enough to post anything.

Rose, I am so sorry about your dad

Lani, I am so sorry about your DH! What the f????? That is just awful and what an awful way to start your new year He is ungrateful and irresponsible. After trying so long for a baby, instead of stepping up and being a good father, he goes and does something selfish like that. I am so angry for you! As if it is not hard enough to have a baby at home, to have your partner not present...I have lots of stiong workds I would not mind throwing around but I'll restrain myself!

Alison, yay for Amelia walking, love your new profile pic - she looks so pretty and like a little girl - her face has gotten finer and she is really starting to resemble a girl, not a baby! I am glad she is walking all over the place - you were always worried since she started everything else later, but goes to show you that each baby does things at their own pace! She figured out the transition from pulling up to standing to walking fast, didn't she, that clever little girl And as for spacing more than two years or two years, I don't see the issue...I think that is pretty ideal actually. I prefer closer together as a preference but I started TTC with the thought that it might take longer and I would have been fine with up to 3 years diff, which Is till think is great for the siblings to relate to each other etc...I think even more space is no prob and in the long run, it only has to do with what you and DH want. And I think that different spaces are best for different people. You have to also do what you feel physically comfortable with and only you can decide and feel that.

Tilda, how is the bump going?

Suz, kanda, Willow, Sesame, Carmey everyone, hi!!!!

I can't be on for too long right now and had no time to read back, so sorry for lack of response to everyone, but I just wanted to get a quick update online before I get back to work.

Vacation was nice but I got really sick and was on antibiotics for the second time in three months - this pregnancy is wearing me down a bit - With Eva I was never sick and never grumpy but with this one I am less tired but my immune system seems to be shot, or maybe it is just the fatigue since I already have one to run after or maybe the season has to do with how sick I am getting (My preg with Eva, started in the spring...)...

Eva took her first steps on the the 23rd and walked unassisted a few times but she seems to only do it when she is not concsious of it. It is wierd - while she is playing and preoccupied, she will stand and walk with a toy in her hand for example but if we hold her hand then let go she stops and drops to her butt...I think she is mentally blocking herself - she is pretty delicate and does not like getting hurt, so I feel like she stops herself. It is funny when I see her with my best friend's daughter who is a little daredevil, because she has no fear at all and started walking at 11 months....I think it is coming any day now. She already has taken her first official steps but I don't count that as walking wuite yet...I'll keep you guys posted on that. She is talking loads though, saying no, apple, mama and papa, making animal noises, doudou (which is her lovey in french), bain (bath in french), that, this, up, some names of family members, and she babbles a lot, it sounds like conversation but babbling. Like not dadadada, she actually babbles with diff sounds, vowels and inflections in her voice as though she is really talking to us...I think she is more interested in that for now )) She is sort of mixing french and english so I am curisou to see how she talks once she starts really speaking well.

I coming up to 14 weeks now, so out of my first trimester, and telling people openly about it. That feels nice I went to find out the sex yesterday and he goes to me from this angle if I have to say then it is a girl for sure then he changed position and said, wait from here it would def be a boy...so I am still not sure of the sex but will know on Jan 27 on the next appt. Bub is getting so big, moving around in there, and well formed. My down's syndrome risk was at 1/10,000 so doc was very happy since 1/fourhundred and something is what is needed to be safe.

Tomorrow I go in for stitches, so not so happy about that but DH will be with me until they put me to sleep then go pick up Eva and bring her home where my friend will watch her then be back to pick me up so at least he is going tobe by my side - it is a standard procedure but still stresses me out....As long as bub is fine, I will do anything I need to do.

I am trying to get through some xmas photos and get them slowly online - I saw that some of you have already seen them, so that's the news for now

    Hi Girls!

Gosh it's been ages since I've been on BB, but I was reading and keeping up until we left for our caravan on the 28th.

Lani - Honey, no words for you but big big *hug* Hope you're doing better and getting some perspective.

Rose - More *hug* for you too, so sorry to hear that your Dad lost his battle with cancer.

Willow - Glad you're surviving work, but it's not nice that you copped it from a *****y co-worker. No one needs that. I loved reading about how Harry communicates without words. Was just thinking today how Ryan makes himself understood perfectly well too, although he has a few words. He says Craig, Dad, Mum, Go, Hello, and 'eh' for Yes. But his favourite is 'uh oh' when he drops something over the side of the high chair.

Kanda - Woo! TTC #3 here too. Hoping for a girl, maybe we can trade notes

    Tilda -

Beany - Poor Michael, needles are not fun when they're starting to go down with something. Michael's hair should grow back quickly, Ryan's had a couple of awful haircuts that we've had to use the clippers on. Yay for Michael walking! No walking here, but maybe a few steps over the last couple of days with a lot of encouragement.

Ali - Ryan's been on 1 day sleep for ages now, can't remember when he switched over. I must've missed that convo with the November girls.

BS - Congrats on getting through your first trimester! That's a great result for your Down's risk and I hope that your appointment to get your stitch goes well tomorrow.
