Babies born~December 1st-15th 2009 # 4

Argh, I haven't had any time to get onto BB lately. I don't think I have the mental energy for proper replies to everyone :(

But congratulations to you, Tilda!! I can't believe that two of us are pregnant again already! It makes me want to be TTCing again :) Funnily enough, DH let slip a comment about TTC today which indicates that he's been thinking about it. But realistically, we need to wait a little longer.

And happy birthday to all of the babies who have celebrated already. So hard to believe that they're all turning one already!

We've been having a bit of a rough patch - Liam was teething last week, so all of his sleep went to hell. He's started sleeping better again, but he's crazy clingy instead. If I even put him down for a second, he has a full blown tantrum. Poor little bub. And I've been having a bad time, too - depression has been getting bad again, which has resulted in a switch of meds. And my autoimmune issues have flared up a bit as well. Hoping that I'll avoid heavy duty meds.

Oh Rose you poor thing. I really hope you can avoid the heavy duty meds. :crossfingers:
Poor little Liam. I haven't experienced the teething yet I still have a gummy bear. Hope he and you are both feeling better very soon.

Not much to report from me, busily organising Jett's party and trying to get organised for Christmas, I am usually really good but not this year haven't even finished shopping.

Hi everyone, been a bit MIA with my brother here and running around getting ready for the holidays and leaving this WE for Paris again...Eva is doing much better now and her four top teeth are descending...it changed her smile so much, and they are not even all the way in. I am teaching her how to brush her teeth :)

Rose, I am sorry to hear that you're not doing so well. I hope you can avoid heavy meds too :( I know the clingy baby thing...It is hard when they are like that - you feel like you are just a baby chair all day and they are in pain so you just feel bad for them. Hope he gets through it fast. lol, DH talking TTC??? You might also be joining us soon. Maybe not tomorrow, but hopefully you feel ok physically soon and can TTc whenever you want, without having it depend on health issues.

Hello everyone else! Happy bday to all the babies turned and turning one!!!! I am trying to keep up on FB but am really not online so often - I tried to put up some new pics but am even slacking on that...

Belly is starting to show...It just popped out so fast with this one - it is prob just bloating but DH told me I don't look just fat, I look pregnant because my belly is like a round ball. I have not gained an ounce but my pants are so tight....I get sort of not in the mood for food then at one point in the day STARVING, so I have been eating one proper meal a day and just trying to snack on fruit, or little bread slices - I can't handle anything too flavorful now, but am not sick so it is nothing debilitationg...Just feeling generally not hungry until my stomach hurts, at which point I just need to put something in there. I am trying to hide it under clothes for a bit longer but we are anouncing to the grandparents this WE and a few close friends.

Have a gorgeous weekend girls and bubs, as I don't think I'll be back on until next week!

suz - Glad you are on the mend and that its not cancer. Must be a relief! :hug: for Ryan weaning already. At least you know it was on his terms so he must have been ready.

Lani - Congratulations on your pregnancy! Sorry for not getting on and posting sooner. I can understand your reservations about having two so close together but as others have said, Matilda will do so much growing up between now and when the next baby comes. She'll be old enough to be of help and interested in her sibling, but not quite old enough to get really jealous. I wouldn't worry about Jett's slow weight gain in the last few months. He'd been burning a lot of energy crawling around.

sesame - I don't think its selfish at all to want to be able to celebrate your birthday freely. Especially with all the changes in your life the last couple of years.

BS - Poor Eva getting sick on her birthday. But four teeth at once! Wow what a little trooper she is. Glad everything is going well with number 2. Have a gorgeous time in Paris (again - I'm so jealous).

Rose - Sorry you haven't been well :hug: Hopefully the change in meds will help your mood although it might take a couple of weeks.

willow - I don't think I've answered your question on how we're going getting Amelia into her cot. The short answer is we're not. I don't have the energy to try when I'm on my own in the evenings. Plus I love having her in our bed. I am trying to put her in her cot for day sleeps, but sometimes its just easier putting her down in our bed if she's already asleep. The good news is that she is capable of getting out of bed safely. On her birthday on Tuesday I was about to go in a wake her from her nap when I heard that she was awake anyway. As I was heading to the bedroom I heard her hands slapping on the floor boards. I thought I was hearing things but then she poked her head around the corner and gave me the cheekiest grin. I tried to get her to show me how she did it, but she wouldn't do it then. So at least I don't have to worry so much about her falling out of bed.

Happy 1st Birthday to any bubbas I've missed on FB. I'm finding it hard to keep up.

Oh, and there was some discussion a little while back about left or right handedness. I read somewhere and MIL who is a reception teacher confirmed that the favoured hand isn't decided until around age 4. Until then, kids are fairly ambidexterous and might switch back and forth until it settles.

AFUS - Amelia is still a lousy sleeper but at least she has fallen into some sort of pattern. She'll be up from around 10pm until 1am. She just wants to play and cries and screams if she's put in bed. I wouldn't mind so much if she could be happy to lay in bed and chat away, but she has to be crawling around, pulling herself up on furniture and getting into everything. Of course she isn't happy to just play with her toys, she has to be involved in what I'm doing (which is usually work that I'm too tired to do during the day when I am actually at work). It seems she has 2 speeds: 0 and 100. She just keeps going and going until she crashes. I wish I could help her to wind down but I don't know how (if its even possible). It'd be lovely to be able to cuddle and read her a story before bed without her crawling all over me, the bed and tearing pages out of her books.

I must sound awfully grumpy and ungrateful. But its almost 3am and I'm supposed to get up at 5:30 so that I can go to work. She's up late even for her, but I think we've hit a wonder week because she's been having a lot of nightmares.

My depression has been getting bad again too so my meds have been increased. It seems to have helped some, but its hard figuring out what is depression and what is grief. I'm finding Amelia's birthday and Christmas very hard as it was around this time last year that we found out Mum was sick. I'd put off increasing the dose for a while now, but my memory and concentration were getting quite bad.

Also, DH and I have been working things out. I've been feeling very alone, especially when it comes to parenting. DH has so many projects on the go that he spends as much of his time at home working on them as he can. Yes he can make money from his projects, but at the end of the day they are his hobbies. And I don't get time to spend on my hobbies. We just don't have a balance. And I feel like Amelia is missing out on her dad. Plus it sh*ts me that we don't even have a yard for Amelia to play in. We don't even have anywhere to set up a playpen. So we can't even go out and play in the backyard while DH works on his cars. I'd stopped talking to him because I didn't have the energy for arguments and didn't feel heard anyway. But we had a good chat last Friday and we had a really good weekend. It helps that the Ashes are on, so DH can watch and play with Amelia while I get things done around the house.

But then we had our first visit to the emergency department on Sunday. I'd tripped and fallen in a carpark while carrying Amelia and her head hit the bitumen. DH thinks she didn't hit her head that hard (I was expecting blood when he picked her up) but we didn't want to take any risks with a head injury. We spent 3 hours in the waiting room and it became apparent that I had taken the brunt of the fall. My ankles, knees, right hip, left wrist and neck all began to ache. Thankfully I'm seeing my osteo this weekend anyway. But Amelia was the waiting room entertainment. She was playing peek-a-boo, waving, giggling, singing and earned the nickname "Mischief". She was fine apart from a slight graze and even slighter bruise on the back of her head which were both pretty much gone the next day. I had the day off work on Monday. Just as well as I'm still stiff even now.

Ah finally. DH has taken Amelia to bed and after about 20 seconds of crying the house is silent.

Oops...apologies for the long post. Good on you if you read it all. I guess I've been avoiding posting because I didn't want to just dump a lot of stuff. It feels good to get it out though. I am looking forward to Amelia's birthday party this weekend though. We're having a casual BBQ at a local park. We'll also be having a naming ceremony as well. Which I still have to sort out. Maybe I'll do that now since there doesn't seem to be much point in going to bed.

Hi Hannah I think Amelia and Harry are two of a kind Harry also has only two speeds 0 and 100. There's no wind down either the tired signs come at 30seconds before the crash. He seems to be getting worse too even feeding now is more of a baby yoga exhibition with his legs everywhere and he twists himself into different positions until he's finished then he flips himself down pats my boob telling me to put it away and he's off again. But like Amelia there's no playing on his own if I so much as look like I'm moving to leave the room he's up crying and chasing me. Anything is done in the kitchen either with him holding my legs crying or him trashing whatever drawers he can get in to, or me holding him doing things one handed so he can see, which is getting harder the heavier he gets!
He's still waking every 2 hours, sometimes more at night some days are harder than others, but I think my body is getting used to the lack of sleep. Well kind of lol.

I hope your change of meds helps you, it must be hard to work out what's what with still grieving and not to mention not getting proper sleep that can be a killer for depression.

I know what you mean about the cot bed scenario, Harry for the most part has day sleeps in his cot now but night time it's just too hard! I get more sleep if he's in bed with me. Although he takes after his brothers and takes up the whole bed, constantly moving around and coming in for a cuddle every now and then leading with his head! I had a fat lip last week from one of those encounters :D

HiRose I hope your new meds give you some relief too, I think I saw on fb you had been feeling a little better which is good.
Hopefully Liam will be over the worst of the teething soon too. Poor little man. We've had the same troubles here too, and his worst day was his birthday, so it wasn't the nice happy celebration we thought it would. Oh well, hopefully he's more cheery for his party.

Hi Suzi Wow weaned already, Harry's not even close! In fact I think he's stepped it up a gear, I didn't think it was possible! Maybe he's making up for the days I'm at work and he goes with out :dunno:

:hello: to anyone I've missed. I really should be cleaning up but I haven't been on for so long I wanted to drop in so I'm probably rambling on now sorry.

Well AFUS I've been back at work for 4 weeks now. The start was pretty horrible the new woman there (she replaced me when I went on leave) was not happy to see me back and was actually outright rude to me. I was a bit shocked, I've obviously been lucky and never come across that before at work. She seems to have settled a bit now, I think it was a bit of not liking change, as things needed to be re arranged when I got back, and she may have seen me as a threat, most likely because she and the other lady hadn't been doing the job properly. It's not rocket science, just cleaning so no excuse especially when it has been VERY quiet for the last 8 months so things should not have been as slack as they had been. Anyway that's life I guess.
Harry is pretty happy with the ILs while I'm at work but has become even more clingy than he was before now I'm back at work (I really didn't think that was possible either)

We still don't have any words here, but he signs when he wants a boob, and has developed some of his own signs for when he wants food or has pooed, as he hasn't quite worked out the real signs yet lol. He also clicks his tongue to tell you he likes something, reminds of of those tribes you hear about that communicate with clicks and noises lol He meows, moos, and he makes a face and an 'oooo' sound when you sneeze, which I think is telling you bless you :) So even though he doesn't have any actual words he does manage to communicate!

I think I've babbled for long enough sorry girls, I"ll go and try to get some tidying done before he wakes up.

Hi Girls, as per usual I haven't been getting notifications, this is really annoying me now! I'm so far behind I won't even attempt persies - other than to say OMG Hannah that must have been scary tripping in the carpark, I always have fears of doing that while carrying Amelia, glad she's ok and hope your ankle and knee etc came out ok.

Hi BS - how far along are you now? Obviously not quite enough to put pics up on FB, can't wait to see your belly. Did you not get nausea/morning sickness with Eva? Lucky you! It's horrible though isn't it, how you feel is how I felt all day every day from week 4 to week 13, urgh, gross, not looking forward to that again. How exciting a possible move to New York!!! :o)

Hi Willow - doesn't it suck going back to that kind of reception. The girl doing my job is a bit the same, she's nice and is much better now but I can tell there's a bit of animosity there. My lovely lovely boss left this week, the new guy doesn't start until end of Jan and he's Thai, coming from Bangkok, he's never lived in Australia before so not sure how the cultural difference will go. It will be my deciding factor on whether to stay or go. Until DH gets more work I'm going to stick at it for a bit longer, I don't like it but it's doable for the money.

AFUS - been soo busy lately, Amelia's party went great as you've probably seen all the pics on FB, was 38 degrees though so was disgustingly hot but never mind. She had a great day and got very spoilt. She's been going great guns, aside from last week my sister kindly visited us full of a cold and passed it onto the both of us so her sleeping went to crap - she'd been doing 11 hours straight for the last 6 weeks without so much as a sound until then grrr, she's also teething - she now has the 8th one coming through, they all seem to be coming at once. We're also in the throws of the final Wonder Week so she's started fussing at night again - it's so text book - this happens every time! At least I know it's temporary and won't last more than a week usually. I tell you last week the first night of her cold I got a total of 3 hours sleep, I was a mess the next day and really started to doubt having another any time soon - I can't handle the sleepless nights - but that has passed, we are just deciding whether to start trying beginning of the year or wait a few months. I'd ideally like Amelia to be 2 before I have another, even a couple of months after she's two but not knowing whether I'll fall straight away or not means you can't pick and choose. So still deciding on that one. One of the girls at mums group just had her 2nd (12 months apart), she brought the baby who is 2 weeks old on Thursday, my goodness you forget how small they are. She said it's really tough having the lack of sleep, she actually looked completely bombed out and it put me off again lol. Her other one isn't a very good sleeper though either so probably doesn't help, that and the fact she had to have an emergency c-section this time (natural first time) - she said she takes her hat off to me for going through that and said she doesn't know how anyone would elect to have one. I would have to agree ha ha. It really takes it out of you and as she said for a lot longer than a natural birth. But Amelia is really coming along, she's saying so many words now, not walking yet but standing on her own and taking steps when I hold her hand so I don't think she's far. She points to babies in books and says baby, the other day she stood at the newborn's pram and was saying baby baby, everyone was like oh how cute is that. My favourte is when she says "bup" for up when she wants to be picked up, so cute hee hee.

Right, best go, have my MIL's 60th this arvo, really can't be bothered but anyway and hopefully my last for a while 1st birthday party tomorrow. This is such a busy time of year isn't it, as it's the first without a proper pay (this time last year I was still getting maternity leave pay from work) I am noticing how expensive Chrissy is, not to mention the 6 birthdays (all family) I have in December as well!

Hi Alison Yes it did suck big time! Not only was I leaving my baby, but then to get there and have to put up with that was crap! Even though she seems better now I'm still having to watch what I say so as not to upset her, it's a bit pathetic really.

How are you all?

Well Jett's party was on Saturday and went very well, he was really spoilt, I have no idea where I am going to put all his new things.
The cake turned out great even if I was up til 1am in the morning icing it, it was really worth it. Everyone loved it, it was all gone and I did get a tiny piece to taste and it did taste great. The only thing I am a little upset with is I didn't get a chance to take any photos :( Usually I love the camera and take heaps but I didn't even pick the camera up. I will have to get some from my friends that took them. I had a girlfriend that has taken heaps of pics so will get them off her this week.

I had such a hard week last week a really close girlfriends brothers little girl passed away at only 6 days old. It was soooooo sad, so a week of mixed emotions for me. I had her funeral on Friday it was a beautiful celebration but so sad. It makes me so grateful to have a healthy little boy. I can not even begin to imagine the pain and suffering the parents are going through.

Well this time last year I was very pregnant waiting for my little munchkin to arrive and now almost 12months on I can't remember what it was like to not have Jett around.

I am only working 2 days this week as I am taking Jett's birthday off (wednesday), then from 4pm Thursday I am on annual leave for 3 weeks. I am really looking forward to it.

Well I must go and get some work done. Will hopefully be back on later.

So girls - the girls in the November thread are all falling pregnant, who out of this thread is next (besides Tilda of course)? We're still deciding when to start trying, so many things to think about that I'm probably thinking TOO much about. I wasn't sure I wanted another one before Amelia was 2, but then if we hold off and it takes ages then it will be a bigger gap than I liked. Plus I was concerned about having another the same time as Amelia, not only do I want her to have that time to herself but I really don't think me or my family could cope with another birthday so close to Chrissy, we have 6 bdays already!!!! So, what to do, what to do.....................If only you could know how long it will take huh lol.

As for TTC, I think GO FOR IT! There is really never a perfect time, even if there was you'd be lucky to get it timed right so just do it! Regardless off when #2 arrives you know how you fall instantly in love and it won't matter when he or she gets here :)

Well I'm starting to feel completely unprepared for Christmas! We've had 2 very unsuccessful shopping trips and don't even have the tree up yet. I'm at a bit of a loss as to how and where to put it so that Harry doesn't destroy it. We only have one living area now and no playpen. I used to put the tree in the playpen when my big boys were little but we don't have one for Harry and I don't want to buy one just for the sake of tree protection. Aaargh! I need a Christmas fairy to come in and shop and decorate! :lol:
Right now I'm supposed to be hanging up nappies and getting Christmas cards organised, so I really should get my butt off the computer and get on with it!

Hello everyone! I've been so busy lately, I've been reading but no time for replying.

Tilda & BS - How are the pregnancies going? I hope you're not feeling too rough! I think I felt much better by about the 13th or 14th week.

Willow - I'm joining you in feeling unprepared for Christmas. I've only just posted my cards off to UK today, hopefully they'll make it in time with all the snow :( We have just put our tree up tho...so far so good with Michael not destroying it yet! He tends to avoid it if anything. Hopefully Harry will do the same :)

Alison - It won't be me next, thats for sure! We're prolly gonna start trying mid 2012 (gosh, that sounds so far away!), or possibly beginning of 2012, depending on how I'm feeling! Great to hear Nugget is doing better, he sounds like a fighter! I think just start trying whenever you feel ready too, the gap will be whatever it will be. It will all work out :) Gosh, Amelia is just flying with her words! Michael still isn't saying any. Tho, we think he's trying to say "more" like when we're playing with him and stuff, he'll go "mo, mo". And he's started making a "dooooo" sound, which is so cute cos his lips just pucker up and I wanna snog em! And I agree too...c/s certainly takes a lot out of you, prolly more than I realised at the time.

Lani - Your cake looked FANTASTIC!!! Was that a mould you used to bake it in? I might use a tractor mould for next year. Soo sad to hear about your friends baby :( Oh I don't know what I'd do if that happened to me, I'd be an absolute wreck. Oh no, shame about not getting any pics. I know how you feel, we've hardly got any of his Christening :( Hopefully you can get some from someone else.

Hannah - I think its perfectly normal to feel grumpy at 3am in the morning! I think most people would feel the same, I know I would. Has her sleep got any better since you last posted? I hope so :crossfingers: And thyanks for the advice re left/right handedness. It sure will be interestign to see which hand he finally settles for! DH is hoping its left...apparently left-handed cricketers are in higher demand or something?? :lol: Oh my gosh, I'm so glad Amelia is ok after your fall. It just takes that little something to send you over, doesn't it? I've had a couple of near misses myself. And one time I sent him face-first into DH's feet because I didn't see them. How did the birthday party and naming ceremony go?

Hello to everyone else!

AFM - Michael is taking heaps of steps now. The most I've seen him do at once is 6. Its just the coolest thing to see him pull himself to standing and then start walking!

Took him for his 12mth needles last Friday. They were awful, there was 3 this time, previously there had only ever been 2. He had a mild fever on Saturday and has had a runny nose since then, not sure if thats a cold or from the needles. Apparently one of them has a delayed reaction up to 5-12 days after the injection of a fever or rash. So 5 days will be tomorrow, must get the carer to keep an eye on him.

Work is going well, really enjoying it. Tho finding it very hard to perform payroll when I'm only in 2 days a week. Hopefully things will work themselves out.

Madly trying to finish making Michael's Christmas Stocking. Its taking aaaaaaaaaages, I'm prolly past half way I reckon, but still so much to do! less than 2 weeks left, aarghh!

Hey everyone, just a quickie because I am so strapped for time....Eva has been sick for over 10 days and we found out this weekend she had a double ear infection! Last time she had one was with the bottom two teeth so I guess four teeth equals 2 infections :( She has been a mess, waking up with 40 fever every day, except for today which is the first time she has no fever and has napped in her bed in almost two weeks!!!!

Plus my bestie and brother are here, so between airports runs and chatting, no time for anything. I won't do persies but am thinking of you all. Alison, Amelia's baby video is so cute :))) Eva is saying stuff too, I should make a vid...her animal noises are so cute... I'll try to get that online this WE. For TTC I say just go, you're ready you're just hesitating because you're trying to control the date and all that. It will happen when it happens and you'll be ecstatic regardless! Tilda, how are you? Lani, I will go check out your pics...Beany, yay for Michael walking, Eva is starting to just let go and stand - she is physically prudent and does not like falling so less quick on going gung ho - her little bestie that is three weeks younger started walking 3 weeks before her 1st bday!!!! But that girl is a daredevil and falls and hurts herself all the time (it's genetic I think - her dad was an extreme dirtbiker who got hurt all the time too!). Get a video please! Willow, the tree issue is difficult - maybe get a little tree that you can put up on a mantle or something? My MIL had a really cool one last year because she got tired of cleaning up pine needles...and it was actually nicer since it was colorful and lit up....

I feel good - a bit tired, but I do feel pregnant. Got some bad news that when I get back from vacation I have to go in for stitches (On the 5th) I knew it was coming but the general anasthesia and all that stresses me out. Whatever, I have to do it to keep bub healthy....I asked to do it after the holidays since I have no time before but I would have liked to just do it before and get it done with, although that might not be best if there are complications - we are leaving for the mountains so I won't be by my doctor.

I am thinking of all of you and sorry for not posting more! I have not even organized anything for our departure!!!!

Hi girls!

Argh, I haven't been getting notifications lately, so I keep forgetting to come here to check posts. Have been thinking about you all and checking up on FB when I have the time. Sorry about the lack of persies for everyone.

I *think* we're over the worst of the teething/wonder week now. The last few weeks have been really rough - I've been unwell and Liam's not been sleeping. I think we had a stretch of about four or five nights when we needed to give him Nurofen for teething pain (and he was still waking a lot). It's taken him a few nights to start sleeping for any decent length of time again - he slept straight through the night before last, which was amazing. Typically, my insomnia is acting up as well, so I've been a zombie anyway.

And today is the first time in ages that I've actually been able to sit at the computer while he plays near me. He's been needing to be held or entertained all the time he's been awake, which has been exhausting.

Feeling very jealous of you girls who are pregnant or beginning to TTC soon. I think we'll probably be looking at another six months or so until we think of trying again. My health is being crap again (back on steroids at the moment, which are helping at least) and I need to get my depression sorted a bit, too. Though I'm starting to feel really clucky ;)

Hi Rose - I'm starting to get clucky again too, we've decided to start trying again around April in the hope I fall straight away, or soon at least. I'd start sooner but I'm trying to avoid having another bub so close to Christmas, we already have 6 birthday plus Amelia on the 30th Nov so not sure I could handle another.....DH doesn't care though so.......but in reality April's not far and it gives me a few months to prepare myself for the whole journey hee hee.

Hi Willow - I'm not ready for Chrissy either, luckily Amelia's pretty well stayed away from the tree but ours is around the corner from where we sit (it's the only place we had room) so it's not in her constant view and temptations lol.

Hi Lani - glad Jett had a lovely birthday, he's such a cutie pie that boy of yours, mwah!

Hi Babyluv - congrats on the birth of your little girl. You are more than welcome to join our gang, although we had our bubs in 2009 hee hee......but please feel free to stick around, we're a great bunch and perhaps we can offer some advice and vice versa, you can remind us what it's like to have a newborn again. Welcome to the wonderful role of motherhood though (assuming she is your first)....it really is the best thing on earth.

Rose, I am sorry to hear about your health - it is awful not being able to sleep when he is finally sleeping...Eva was also majorly clingy for two weeks, which just ended - it is exhausting (as if you've been busy all day) while really making you feel lik eyou got nothing done at all. I am glad to hear you guys will discuss TTC in 6 months, that is no time! :) If you're feeling clucky, your body will follow suit and prep itself. I am sure it will all be fine.

Alison, April! Yay! Keep us posted. It is good to have some time to prepare, detox, and enjoy your baby all alone :) Two is going to be so amazing, but it makes you really enjoy the first a lot and enjoy having one all to yourself :)

I am keeping up with everyone's pics on FB...so hello to everyone else who does not have time to post.

Eva finally went back to happy on Tuesday and back to daycare Wednesday where everything is going very well. I am trying to get everything done in the day before picking her up because we def have to prepare a massive amount - I already sent over a ton of stuff with my ils who drove down today so her snowsuit and toys and all that have been shipped, I just need to get the clothes in order...they also took down all the xmas presents so that is out of my hair except for two more little things I need to pick up.

I went to get a wax today and almost died from the pain - I forgot how sensitive the skin gets when you're pregnant.... :( Luckily this time the beginning of my preg is in winter and I can get away with less intense wax sessions...at the end of my preg it hurt less so for the summer it should be ok...

I am almost at the end of my first trimester....this went by so fast since I am not sitting there obsessing over it and have Eva to take care of....it is wierd...there is nothing like a first preg :) I finally changed my ticker back to a preg ticker - how wierd is that????

Miss you all and sending love to all the mums and bubs! Once I leave Tuesday if I don't post it is because we have crap internet out there but I'll try my best to get online with my phone a bit and follow everyone's holiday pics etc...

Hi BS - I'm so glad Eva is feeling better, Amelia had that ear infection (let alone a double one) and it was the worst thing ever. Poor poppet, glad she's better in time for Christmas. Wow can't believe you're almost at the end of your first trimester that has gone fast! I hope that happens for me when it's my turn, I HATED that first trimester with Amelia because I felt so disgusting all day every day ha ha.

Well in case we don't get to speak to you have a fabulous Christmas beautiful, look forward to an even more exciting year ahead for us all.

I have had the worst 24hrs ever. My whole world has been crushed Paul told me yesterday that he has been having an affair. I am truly crushed. I have deactivated my Facebook account as my parents are currently holidaying in Hawaii and I can't let them know til they get back in 2weeks. I am hurting so badly but need to stay focussed for Jett. Sorry to tell u all like this.

Lani! That's just awful!! I'm sure there are no words to describe how you're feeling right now. What was Paul thinking?? Do you think you'll try and work things out? I hope Paul has ended this thing whatever you decide to do. I'm sorry, but its just so immature (to put it nicely) to go and have an affair when you have a beautiful wife and baby at home who love you. I hope he's feeling absolutely terrible about hurting you like this!! And what a time to decided to be honest! Right on New Year and when your parents are away and aren't here to support you. Sorry I've been MIA for so long everyone. We've just had such a full on couple of months. When I decided to stop night feeds Matilda got VERY clingy and stopped sleeping properly during the day. Most days she'd only do one half hour nap. It was exhausting! Especially since I'd just got pregnant and had that classic pregnancy fatigue wash over me. Everyone kept harping on at me about how much easier it would be once I stopped night feeds but it didn't really work out that way and she ended up waking at 4:30 for a feed and I couldn't stretch her much more. And then a few weeks later she got soooooo ill with what I think were three separate viruses all in the one week. We'd been at a couple of birthday parties on the weekend and I think she picked up everything that was going. Vomitting, diarohea, fever, cold, rash and headache. I actually had the stomach thing first and then she gave me the rash and headache. Just to add to the nightmare we were moving house!!!! And then I had my mum, dad, sister and BIL arrrive. So I really haven't had time to even keep up with everyone's post's let alone post myself. I've caught up a bit but apologies all around for getting to no personals yet. I'll start from here!! Anyway, cross my fingers but I think we're on the cusp of an easier time. Matilda has all of a sudden become more independent and happy to explore and play on her own much more. I think being a confident walker now helps a lot. And she's started sleeping during the day again! Bliss!! She's becoming such a little character. She's been keeping us all entertained over Christmas with her little dances and singing. And she's just hilarious if you let her loose with a hose! Only 10 weeks pregnant but I'm already showing a bit. I think the muscles are a bit slacker this time around....Anyway, have a wonderful night tonight everyone! Happy New Year!

Lani sweetie - they are all natural feelings, everyone copes in their own way, my sister's husband cheated on her 3 years ago (they're coming up for their 25th wedding anniversary) and she forgave him but she still isn't over it and says things all the time, it's very awkward at times. Personally even if my ex gave me the choice I wouldn't have stayed either, I just don't think i could've ever trusted him again or looked at him the same again. Sometimes too much happens to go back. But, just give yourself some time, sometimes you just need time to reflect and think about things, you do have a child together now which makes things much more difficult. I am disgusted in him and if I was there I'd track him AND her down (what kind of woman would do this) and I'd make sure they never did it again. Sorry, as you can see I'm still, 10 years later, carrying the scars from being hurt the same way. Please call me if you need, but if you need some alone time i get that too, I didn't tell my family for 3 weeks because I was too ashamed, just told them he was away (which he was) - my situation was confirmed by a friend, not the nicest news to be told unexpectedly......but then after I had time to grieve and process things myself I had to talk talk talk so I'm here if you need. I'm so sorry this has happened to you both, b*stard. Sorry.

And Rose - how rude of me to not mention it earlier, I'm also very sorry and sad to hear about your dad, did you get to say goodbye? He really tried hard this past year didn't he. I know he's in a nice happy place now and he'll always watch over you with such a big and proud heart, let us know when you're up for another Perth girls visit, Beany and I will cheer you up. xx

Just a quick one girls...is everyone's bub still on 2 day naps? I'm finding it harder and harder to get Michael down for his 2nd nap...he can be whingeing/playing for up to an hour in his cot before I go in and get him up. I didn't think they're meant to stop the 2nd nap just yet?

Hi Beany - I've been asking people the same question, Amelia is still on 2 naps but I think she's starting to transition as she's sleeping in longer and so can stay awake longer in the morning. Most of the girls in my mum's group bubs are just going to 1 day nap now, they say the average is 14 months give or take so it's pretty much on time really. I would just go with it, my friends who are are putting their bubs down at 11.30 for 2 hours so perhaps give it a go - no point fighting the inevitable and at least it gives you more time in the day to get out and about - although there goes going out for lunch! One of the books I have says the signs they're ready is them fighting going down so just start by decreasing his morning sleep so he's tireder if you don't want to drop it completely (ie wake him after 45 mins), and then after a couple of weeks drop the morning nap altogether and put him down at 11.30ish and he should sleep for a couple of hours. Hope that helps!

Hope everyone is well, Amelia is walking all over the place now so I spend my whole day chasing her around ha ha. Off to work tomorrow, groan groan groan.

Hi Beany Harry has still been having 2 day sleeps, but,the second one he's been having so late I'd rather he didn't! He's been falling asleep as late as 3-5pm which means he's up until between 10-12pm.
I tried today to get him to have an early sleep in the hope the second one wouldn't be too late. As it turned out he had a sleep at about 11.30am then didn't get tired again until about 4pm, so I managed to keep him awake and he went to bed at about 8.30pm :hooray: I hope I can keep that going! Although I suspect it won't last as when the ILs have him while I'm at work they completely over stimulate him which is half the problem :(
I would be happy with one day sleep and an earlier bed time. DS1 had stopped having any day sleeps by the time he was 12 months, and wasn't in bed before midnight. DS2 was only having 1 day sleep at 12months but it was a good 2 - 3 hours, and then was in bed by 8pm at the latest not to be heard from again until morning. So I guess they're all different *exhausted sigh* DS2 really was a dream baby. . .

I dont recall the last time I was here but we are now all living with Mum and Dad and also TTC again....yep, number 3! maybe a boy this time? We did really like them close (Lila is 21 Months older than Sienna) and would love something similar again.

Hi Kanda - yay TTC #3 good luck! We are planning to start around April for number 2, I'd like 2 years or a tiny bit more between - only because I don't want another baby so close to Christmas, we already have 6 family bdays in December, don't think I could cope with another ha ha....would love a January 2012 baby so fingers crossed I don't take too long to fall! Bit scared about doing it all again and when you tell people you're having a 2 year gap they start giving you all the advice and it puts me off, but when I look at people around so many have kids with a 2 year gap so it can't be that bad ha ha ha! Anyway, keep us posted xx

Alison - thanks for the advice. I think we have the same book! I read about shortening the morning sleep too...but I'm scared to because thats the sleep he goes down relatively easily for! I'll give it another week and see if he sorts himself out. I also read somewhere that they can have a sleep regression around 13-14 months which can last 4 weeks, after which they may return to normal 2 naps.

Willow - its amazing just how different babies can be! Sounds like DS2 really was a dream baby! 2-3 hours during the day would be lovely, imagine the stuff we could get done! What time does Harry usually get up in the morning?

AFM - I've been so busy the last few weeks, ever since Michael's bday really. Its only now I feel like I have some spare time! Michael took to his needles pretty badly. We actually suspect he was coming down with something the day of the needles, and that coupled with the needles themselves was just too much for him. He's been sick on and off for about 3 weeks :( So his walking was almost non-existant during that time, its only now he's starting to feel better he is trying to walk more.

Hmm...I attempted my first at-home hair cut for him...we bought some clippers in the sales. Went a little bit too short! Eeek! He looks like a skin-head! DH calls him 'Bruiser'. Oh well, it'll grow back. I'll use a longer attachment next time!

Hope you all had lovely Christmases. It was another stinker in Perth...always happens on Christmas Day. Good job I wasn't cooking!

Hi Beany - just see what happens, he might switch back like you say. Amelia's had a couple of weeks of not sleeping so well, she went back to the occasional wake after 45 minutes during the day, most of the time I left her and she'd go back to sleep but then she'd go back for another 1.5 hours so her entire day was out of whack then! Then she was waking at night around the usual 3.00 am, but the last 4 nights she's slept straight through no sound and sleeping till 7.30 am instead of her usual 6/6.30 am! I'm not complaining believe me. I don't know if it's Wonder Week or just starting to go into the next stage, either way I'm trying not to stress as there's not much I can do about it ha ha. Quite a few of the girls from my November forum told me their bubs have been on 1 day nap for months now......the girls in my mums group have just recently gone to 1 nap (they're 3-4 weeks older than Amelia) and the ones who are her age are either still on 2 or just starting to go down to 1 nap now. I was always told to keep it as long as you can because the sooner they go to 1 nap, the sooner they drop them altogether and I don't know about you but I enjoy my break, as much as I love Amelia and all! Sorry Michael was affected by his needles, Amelia didn't get anything at all, not even a temperature so we were very lucky. Hopefully he's on the mend again now.

AFM - Amelia's walking all over the place now so I spend most of my day chasing her around. Oh and I'm on my lunch break at the moment but I'm at work today and it sux, again!
