Yeah sounds like we all having nightmares at the moment!
Meg- enjoy time away, maybe change scenery will get E sleeping well.
Nai- its the worst when they're sick, so exhausting, must be hard going to work too when they keep you up at night, thats what I'm dreading when I go back having minimal sleep then rush around all day at work.
Olive- yeah means Df is back full time with me, lol. Emily been in the cot in our room but Df prolly sleeps 25% with us and other time in spare room. I'll prolly regret having him back full time, he snores sometimes and is such restless sleeper.
sending sleepy vibes to all the babies in here! Behave for your mummies!
-
Did someone say 'drink'....if only...I've resorted to 'sniffing' DH's drink...seems a lifetime ago...and a lifetime away!!!
Sounds like we've all got 'stuff' going on...same here...A cut her top tooth and the other is almost through...not waking during the night but screaming and crying in her sleep...don't know how she doesn't wake herself up...so I'm just patting her tummy till she stops crying as it's breaking my heart...or maybe that's the preg hormones...
Here's hoping we all get some sleep tonight...fingers crossed :)
-
how did A sleep the other night ellie??
shell did you move E out??
anyone else having huge issues with nappy changes??? we do the crocodile death roll here and its driving me nuts
-
Olive - I get double leg kicks to the bb's and it is driving me crazy.. She also pushes her belly out as fat as it will go so when she goes back to normal after the nappy is on, it's too loose! It was great to see you and the girls on Saturday!!
We had our first night in a week where Miss J actually slept in her own bed and only woke once during the night! I think she is getting another tooth as she is chewing on everything and drooling all over herself.
-
I feel like crap, I just feel so exhausted and run down, my whole body is aching, I'm sick of feeling like crap! On the upside Emily has been alot better today and yesterday. Thank god too many sleepless nights.
Nai- Yay on that! Has she been having some seperation issues?
olive- nope still in my room! As for nappy change I always have noisy toys on hand, start rattling them get her wanting them and she plays while I change.
Ellie- the other tooth come thru? She more settled?
How is everyone else going? been quiet in here, prolly all still struggling with sleep!
-
I'm here been reading but not posting sorry....
Shell,, i'm tired too! I actullay want to sleep and not catnap!! I am OVER little moments of sleep 2 hours here, 2 hours there is just not cutting it anymore!!!!!
All I want for Christmas is a full 8 hours of sleep.....please Santa please Sorry for the whinge
-
im the same!! need more sleeeeeeep, i even let DH sleep in yesterday i now wonder when the favour will be repaid!
the noisy toys dont work here!
oh and we had to lower the mattress in the cot :( she was standing up and i was scared she would topple out!
pinny S was talking about A today!! A is my friend!
nai ouch on the kicks! M often kicks DH in the groin if he dresses her on the floor after a bath!
yay on the bette sleep!
my hips are atching, like they did when i was pregnant!
-
Standing Up:o mu goodness what a clever girl!!
-
tis sad, she looks so far down now :(
-
Olive- Could you be preg?! Or wishful thinking? Emily not quite standing yet gets onto her knees and pokes her head over, very cute.
pinny- hope santa is listening!
I ended up having bit fever last night, explains why i felt so crappy. Still achey today and sore throat, bet Emily has passed on what she had! Mums can't afford to get sick!
-
hey girls.. just came by to say hi and wish you all the best of days
Went to a sleep class this morning and Alex was MR Party. He's had about 20 minutes sleep today since we woke at 6am - I'm waiting for him to crash.. he's entertainign himself in the loungeroom, with the TV controller - I figure DH can fix up whatever buttons he presses (because DH was the first to let him play with the remote!)
-
walking! Wow, he is so early! Life was easier when you layed them somewhere and they stayed there.
How was the sleep class? Did you learn anything helpful?
-
Hi girls, Only 4 work days to go but let me tell you the amount of things I have to get done in those 4 days is absolutely crazy!!!!!
Still waiting to hear about what year I am teaching next year! Really hoping for year 2!!!!!!
Ash has been good. She cried for the first time when I left to go to work this morning!! :( Was quite heartbreaking.
BBL to catch up.
-
Hi girls!!
Been awol as internet was capped and couldn't get access to BB.
Just a quick catch up as to where we're at....
L now has 5 teeth - 2 bottom, 3 up top
He is not crawling yet, not even trying, however he is finally sitting up by himself!
We are still co sleeping and he still wakes umpteen times a night  I am waiting til DP takes annual leave (hopefully in Jan) and we're going to try and move him into the cot!
Olive, omgoodness, the nappy changes have seriously become a nightmare! He cracks the sh*ts and screams the house down, tries to do a 180 turn and roll away, kicks with both feet, bucks up and down like a bloody angry horse! It has really become a two person job to change him!
Have come to the realisation that L is one moody kid. He has the worst temper and quite frankly seems like a brat! Going through some serious separation anxiety and he wants no one but me. Ahh the joys!
What's everyone doing for Christmas? Any ideas on what to get the bubbas for their first xmas? I want to get something special but not sure what...have ordered him a lovely handmade quilted xmas stocking with his name embroidered on it. For the extended family we're doing photo calendars with pics of L - I can get away with it now seeing as he's the first and only child of my generation so far! When my brothers/sisters/cousins have kids I guess the baby thing loses its novelty  Hehe no offense!
I get my uni results on Friday, I'm so nervous! But I'm really enjoying the time off. I go back to work on the 13th of Feb and uni starts 1st March so I'm just wanting the next 2 months to go reeeally slow!
Hope everyone is well. Will check in again soon xox
-
Hello everyone!! I've been gone from BB for a WEEK!!! Feels like forever. Been away and then came back but had house guests.
I am hearing everyone on the sleep issue atm. Had some shocker nights lately with J. Feeding 3 hourly at times, not going down at 6:30-7pm like usual, shorter day sleeps, waking up heaps etc etc. I think it's a wonder week - week 36 or 37 is the World of categories. I also think his teeth have been giving him grief.
 to all the sick babies and mums in here!
AJP - We are starting to get the crocodile roll during nappy changes but he hates being on his belly so doesn't go all the way over. He has worked out how to take off his nappy and wee on everything around him (except the nappy of course!!) and every change/after baths etc he kicks me in either the belly or the boobs or both!! So over it! We just lowered the cot too cause he finally started moving around in there!
Putting aside the crap sleep everyone is going through at the moment, is anyone else's bub still feeding 3-4 hourly overnight? How many in here are normally 'sleeping thru' yet?
-
Kaz- Lewis can feed 3-4 hourly most nights although we do occaiosnally get a 4hour block then a 5 hour block so I love those nights....
-
Kaz, no such thing as sleeping through here. Although I partially blame myself coz I've had no tolerance persisting with the cot and I've been feeding him to sleep. I will be trying to break the habit soon though! L is on bbs all night!
-
We have been sleeping through here, but the last two weeks - NOPE. I can see her top teeth bulging. One has sort of cut through. last night, I got sick of getting up and resettling, so put herin with us. She would only sleep if she could touch me. No feeds though.
Went to Costco today. Got a heap of stuff. was pretty good actually.
Taking J in to the city tomorrow, to reward him for his wonderful behaviour over the last week,. Just wish they would be good at the same time.
I am sooooo tired. Sounds like we all are. DH is back at work next week. e has had the last month off. Not looking forward to that.
OK I am watching tv while typing so excuse all the spelling mistakes.
Night all
-
HEy girls
Kaz- welcome back hun! :D
Holly- My internet gets so slow the second half of the month as I have normally gone over my download limit.
We have been sleeping through since 6 months about 11.5 to 12hrs a night :hide: Dont hate me.... :hide: I hear her wake sometimes but she puts herself back to sleep. We also have a heartbeat machine that makes the noise all night that she likes so maybe that helps also? Its quite soothing actually.
I think I have worked out why we are not having the sleep issues YET though. DD doesnt have any teeth and has no sign of any coming through in the near future. I have noticed that everyone elses in our group has teething bubs or bubs with teeth and are also experiencing sleeping issues. Could that be the link???
With feeding, everyday is different. When I am at work, she has less milk then when I am around. She probably averages about 5 b/f a day when I am around and if I am at work, 3 b/f and 1 220mL bottle. She also has 3 meals a day. Brekky- porridge with fruit, lunch- toast or veges (so not creative) and dinner- a mango or pear or banana & a yoghurt.
Big  to everyone. I'll get DD to have a chat with all of your bubs and send some sleepy vibes.
Please dont hate me, I wasnt going to post but thought I might have found the link. I am sure when DD gets teeth everything will change. :o
-
Ali- Of course we don't hate you!! Don't be silly...my DD was the same sleeping through at this age too!! Any to be honest never changed with teeth either she was late getting teeth. But now I have one that doesn't sleep so I've got to experience both worlds!
Although I was out all afternoon and got home and decided that my children are just so precious and I am blessed to have them!! L was a dream and compared to the other children we were with Abbey was perfect!! I'll have to remind myself of this when I'm pulling my hair out with Miss A attitude other days!!;)
-
ali sophie was sleeping 8 hours at night at 3 weeks and by 8-9 weeks was doing 12 hours! i was very spoilt!! we sleep through sometimes, but not often!
meg how was bright???
kaz good to see you hun!
holly back to work :o and uni :o , lol at leon being moody!
pinny your kids are always great!!
we had a bad night last night, im thinking teeth she was up numerous times so tired today hoping tonight is better!
-
I can't complain too much with sleep, generally she wakes about 4am for a feed, just when she is unwell everything goes to crap and she wakes often and cries in her sleep, usually lasts for 10 days to 2 weeks.
Ali- thats great we don't hate you! I actually don't feel too bad with Emily waking once cause Ash at this age was alot worse so Emily waking once seems easy in comparison. No teeth here either! Wonder if they'll ever arrive.
Olive- hope tonight is better for you!
Pinny- its great moments like that, you keep that thought in there when they start being cheeky!
Meg- great to hear J has been good, have fun in the city, you planning on seeing the windows? I'm looking forward to when Df is on holidays, its nice to have them around to help.
Kaz- does he take a dummy? Can't remember if he was or not, could you try that instead feeding? Or will only booby settle him?
Holly- good luck with uni results! For xmas we've bought off e-bay cubby as combined gift for the girls and then I just bought a couple little things for them to open under the tree.
K-mart open every night til 10 which is great cause put kids in bed and went, so no crowds, no kids, easy hassle free shopping! Seeing as its just kids only quite easy just wandered round the toy isles. Df been slack with working out his neice and nephew so he'll have to do that alone now (generally our rule is each one is in charge gifts for our own side family) just need something extra for Ash and I'm all done.
-
Hi ladies,
So sorry for my extended absence. So tired, running around all day after Isabel, not sleeping much... not good!
I've read this thread from the start (most of it) and I am so glad I'm not alone with the sleep issues.
Generally, most nights once Isabel is asleep she will sleep until some time around 6am... but the time she goes to sleep varies from 7pm to 9pm. We try every night to put her down at 7pm and some nights it works, more recently every night has been screaming and crying for an hour or two. Sigh!
Then guess what I noticed on Monday - first tooth! So yes Ali I think you're right about teeth being the link!
She was shocking last night - really grumpy from about 4pm to 6.30pm when I fed her to sleep, then she woke up at about 9pm (I wasn't home - was at Book Club) and when I arrived home 2hrs later she was still awake and crying. DH basically threw her at me and said "I'm tired and need to go to sleep"
So then I sat up with her until she went back to sleep at 1am. Then she was awake at 6am.
A bit exhausted today. She's down with my MIL at the moment so I'm going to go have a nap when I'm finished this!
Off to the Obs on Monday, it has come up so quickly! Hoping the rest of the pg passes this quickly...
Hi to all, have read most of the posts but haven't got the energy for personals sorry. Going to crash now!
-
BBL but millie is crawling :o
-
Yay for Millie!!!!
-
Just got back from the city. Had a good time although. J wouldn't sit on santa's knee, but he LOVED the train in MYER. He went on it 4 times! Got a lovely train photo, and that will have to do as the santa photo for this year.
E was pretty good too although would not feed at all while out. Too much to look at. Ate her lunch, so she did have something in her tummy.
She was up for about an hour last night, just chatting and a bit of crying in her room. I ignored her the best I could, but she still kept me up, as I could hear her!!!
Anyway my SIL had a baby boy today, so I will go visit her tomorrow evening.
-
Hi everyone
Congrats Aunty Lilima! New bubby cuddles...yummy! Enjoy!
So glad to hear I'm not the only one with crazy sleep stuff going on...A has always gone down around 7pm and woken about 6am...we have been so spoilt...but now....can't get her to bed till about 8.30pm and last night resorted to rocking her to sleep...she had crossed over to that crazy place and there was no coming back lol!!! And she's suddenly waking at 5am and sitting up in her cot and crawling around...all this has changed since she started crawling....and she has all 4 top teeth on the move at once...two have cut and the others not far off...day sleeps I've resorted to the pram and she's maybe having 2 of 45 mins...so no nanna nap for me....I am so TIRED :( So today I'm going to give her more to eat and see if that helps...we kind of dropped morning tea but think she might need it now she's moving....anyway....sorry for dribbling on....thinking out loud...some good news...can feel bubba 2 moving...relief :)
-
shell were lucky out local kmart is open 24hrs all the time!!
OP you 12 weeks already :o wow thats flown!!
Ellie we have similar issues with moving in the cot! sitting up, its gets worse when they can walk  M still goes down at the same time though.
AFU holy moly i just resettled M with a cuddle on the couch instead of boob! tis easier to give boob but ithought id try and what do you know shes gone back down  will see how long that lasts though
-
Nai- :happybirthday: hope your day was fantastic! DD1 is so gorgeous in her ballet photos! You have made me want to make sure DD gives ballet a go!! :)
Olive- Ashlyn has really taken off today as well with the crawling/commando/drag/downward dog yoga pose movements! It is def an eye opener to what I need to do to babyproof!! That is so lovely that you setteld M ith a cuddle.
Shell- How lovely to go shopping without the kids. Have you finished xmas shopping for the girls?
Lilima- Congrats on being an aunty  Think it will be a long time before I am. No one else seems close!
Ellie- How exciting you are getting movement from the little one inside you!!!! I miss that!
OP- I am not looking forward to the teething. :hide: quite scared of it really. Do you have an amber necklace? I am thinking about getting one if they really do work. I googled them though and they are quite expensive!
Pinny- You've given me hope that her sleep wont change! Thanks hun! I'll let you know.
Kaz- How are you hun? Hope J is going well. How are things with your sister and mum? Hope they still arent using you as the go between.
:hello: to everyone else.
AFM- Still going well here. miss A has a new favourite food....hokkien noodles!! She goes nuts over them!!!! I mixed them with some pumpkin soup and she was sucking them up!! I need to get it on video. I have been very naughty and have got her up a few times at night when I miss her and want a cuddle. I just love the way she cuddles in when she sleepy and I'll never get this time back so figured I'll enjoy the cuddles while I can get them! :) Hope everyones having a good weekend!
-
Ali- Ooh thats sweet! I only really get cuddles when she is sooky lala. I try cuddle her at night after a bottle and she cuddles for few seconds then is looking around, playing with my hair, trying to reach things so have to put her down before she decides its playtime!
Nearly done xmas shopping, just need to get Ash something small for under the tree. They're getting a cubby but thought still need little something to unwrap.
Olive- did she stay asleep? I love 24hr k-mart, I remember years ago when I first starting working and at like 2am friends and I decided to go to 24hr k-mart and have shopping spree, lol, was actually surprised that there were quite few ppl there.
Ellie- hopefully once she settles with just learning to crawl that her sleep will improve. Always something interferring with our sleep!
Meg- I should take ther girls in, was it really busy when you went in? I hate crowds.
OP- How is the sleep going? Is she bit more settled now the tooth has come thru?
I forgot to tell you my drama other day. Well it was huge drama to me, we lost Emily's blankie while down the street, she threw it out without us noticing. And cause we had walked a fair bit before we noticed I nearly cried. There is no way she can sleep without it. So went into every shop asking and finally found a baby shop someone had handed it into thank god. Now mum is back onto her mission of knitting spare ones!
Hey Melb girls do you all remember years ago the myer rooftop and it had rides and stuff? Open over xmas and summer. I have vague memories of going as a kid.
-
Shell- I remember the Myer rooftop having rides and Christmas theme!! Wow you've just given me a reminder of some lovely memories of my Nan, she used to take us every year. We went to the city on Friday to the Myer windows and it was not crowded at all! My DD just loved it she was ata really good age.
Ali- I can understand why you want snuggles, I took a photo of DS asleep in the car seat last nights, coz all I could think is he will be all grown up before I know it!!
Nai- HAppy Birthday for yesterday! Your DD look so beautiful at her Ballet concert!!
Olive- Might try the cuddles to resettle, I'm always offering boob, just automatic...
Ellie- I hope the tiredness eases soon.
lilima- How's your nephew?? HAve you met him yet?
op- Wow this pregnancy seems to be going fast! Is it for you?
Hi to everyone else... we are off to another christmas party today...L been ok with sleep, gettin a five hour block most nights! From 12am to 5am, Yay!!
-
shell she did stay asleep til 4.30am, will be trying the cuddles more often!!
i dont remember myer rooftop stuff
glad you got the blankie back, we have 3 here, all flannalette but different colours, she doesnt mind!
ali millie does the downward dog too!! i love bed cuddles too!!!
pinny sophie loved the myer windows too! im glad l is sleeping longer!
we have DH's work christmas party this arvo too!
-
Thanks for the birthday wishes everyone! I had the best gift ever - my DD1 did her first ballet concert, she was the lead and she did such a wonderful job. DP and I were crying. My mum and my dad both came and saw her too (don't think my dad ever saw me do anything!). Miss J behaved herself and she even slept from 11.30 - 6.30 which was a treat!
Sorry for the lack of personals but am rushing around trying to get ready for birthday drinks this arvo and I'm still in my undiesand the house is a mess!
-
Hope you have a great day today Nai! I saw DD1's ballet pics - just gorgeous! You must be so proud, she looked like an angel, and a lead role too!
Shell, glad you found the blankie! Nope don't remember the myer rooftop thing?
Pinny, have fun at the Christmas party! I had to rack my brain as to who that person was adding me on fb and then I saw the gorgeous DD and DS and realised it was you! Beautiful family you have :)
Ali, lol hokkien noodles!! Saw your most recent pics on fb...your dogs are sooooo cute with DD!!
Ellie, how's DD been the last couple of nights? Hope it's improving for you. Can't believe how time is flying - soon the next one will be here!
Lilima, congrats on being an aunty again! Too cute about the Santa photos! My mum has a photo of my brother and I on Santa's knee and you should see my face - I was not happy!! Haha! We are hoping to get some Santa photos sometime this week, hope L is in a good mood.
OP, hope your sleep improves too! Yay on the first tooth!
Lol at the downward dog pose these babies are doing! L is still getting there, I'm not sure he will crawl at all lol.
Hi to everyone else!
L is doing well. He is really wanting to talk! He loves to make his voice heard and has such a cute babble, I have to record it :) I've been cooking new meals from my baby/toddler meal planner and so far so good, he's liking them (and me and DP too!) We've sorted out L's presents for Christmas - we got him a walker (yeah yeah I know, apparently they're not good!), a lovely handmade stocking and a reindeer plush toy that's bigger than him (in the fb pics). I'm so desperate to put the tree up but we are having renos and tomorrow the plasterer is coming and next week after the painter is coming so the rooms have to be empty
Well that's it from us! Hope you all had a great weekend, will check in again soon xox
-
Hi girls!!
I've been MIA again lately - sorry
Nai - HAPPY BIRTHDAY darl! Hope you're enjoying those drinks!!
Ali - How could I hate you?? I think it's awesome Miss A is sleeping through so much for you. I wouldn't wish 4 hourly waking on anyone! I know they're all different I was just wondering where J fit in this group. Seems most are sleeping for much longer stretches and it's the same in my mums group IRL. Things have calmed down in my family - thanks for asking hun. Christmas should be interesting though cause under the surface it's still not any better with my mum. I am trying to steer clear of it all though.
Shell - What a PITA about Miss Es blanky! At least you found it again though. J has a dummy and a ducky lovey - a lot of the time he wakes and is crying around the dummy though  He only has the dummy/ducky for sleeps and I'm ok with that but it won't replace a feed unfortunately.
Olive - wow! Crawling. Go Miss M!!!
OP - Oh that settling sounds like hard work -at the end of the day too when all you want to do is collapse in bed yourself!! Your pg is moving quickly!
Holly - Oh renos suck while they're happening! It'll be worth it once you have a nice house for Christmas though :)
Meg - Great that Mr. J had a good time on the train. Hope that Miss E sleeps better for you soon.
Pinny - It's hard to be woken so often week in week out huh?
Sorry everyone - I've been on the phone since starting this post and I can't remember what else was said!
AFU - A couple of nights ago J slept through :hooray: Went from 11:30pm feed to 7:30pm feed with one wake at 6am but he resettled himself. I felt awesome all day. But he's been back to 4-5 hourly mostly since. Last night he fed at 7pm then 9pm then slept through til 3pm but I couldn't sleep so lay awake that whole time  and :wall: So frustrating!
-
Ummm I caught Ash eating a dog biscuit today :o :o :o
Saw her commando crawling towards them yesterday but forgot to move them then today I was on the computer  and I heard this racket in the kitchen and went in there and Ash had picked up handfuls of the dogs biscuits and had them all over the floor and had 3 in her mouth!!!! :o I got them all out but yuk!!!! I looked at the packet and there is nothing dangerous in them but its the whole thing that its dog food!!! I also caught her with my thong (footwear kind ;) ) in her mouth! Going to have to seriously watch wear we put stuff now.
Kaz- that is great that he had a night of sleeping through and even better that he resettled himself. I think once they get the hang of that, you wont have to get up to him as much during the night as he wont need you to help him get back to sleep. He will get there  Glad things have setteld down on the family front.
Holly- glad things are going well with L. How cute that he is talking. We have a squaker not a talker yet!!! Loves to do high pitch squeals! Does my head in when its at 7am!
Nai- Hope you enjoyed the drinks. I would be in tears as well. everything about her says ballerina. She has that beautiful skin, hair & delicate look about her. Just gorgeous.
Shell- We have lost so many things from our pram!!!! We even managed to lose a book that was actually attached to the pram! Go figure. We have gained a few things as well of recent times! It wasnt until we were out of best&less on the weekend that I noticed ash had taken some hair things at the counter. I took them back (they weren't very pretty anyway) but thought it was quite funny. Might go start a thread about it.
-
Oh Ali that's  You poor thing, that would have been horrible. I bet it's the first of many horrible things she'll eat though. I'm dreading when J starts eating stuff. So far it's just been a bit of grass and paper and I'm so very thankful that his nappy wasn't dirty when he managed to get it off last week! She'll survive, I'm sure there was nothing too harmful in them.
ETA - Oh and he's also put one of my footwear thongs in his mouth too!
-
i caught millie licking the bottom of my thongs
-
 Its so not funny but it is!
-
 i know she was licking it like it was an icecream!
