Malyna - :lol: at A going silly when he walks! I hope you get in to sleep school - it sounds like you are doing it tough :hug:

Ali - I hope your dog is ok and that you get some sleep.

Meg - I am doing 4 feeds a day: morning late morning, afternoon and evening. No feeds overnight. Plus 3 meals and snacks - it seems that she is eating all the time!! It's hard to say anything these days without someone taking offense so I try my best not to offend anyone but if I do I just apologise and move on. I can't live my life walking on eggshells. Congrats on the job!

Kaz - I would probably wait until you are back from holidays with the sleep thing. I waited until we were back from ours so that I could put in a big effort and know that we could stick to it for a few uninterrupted weeks. It might work but then get all mucked up with being away etc and you then have to start over.

Ali - Sending you a massive :hug: Teething really sucks. At least it does in this house so far and we've only got one that just popped through. I hope you had a good time with your mum today. Sorry I didn't get in here this morning - we slept in!!! I said yesterday when DS got up at 5am, I bet he sleeps in tomorrow! My alarm didn't go off and he slept til 8am so it was a mad crazy rush to get out the door! I was very disappointed not to meet you and DD but completely understand. We'll get to meet one day :)

Lilima - No offence taken at all. I think this sort of stuff goes in cycles. It happens every now and then - a few times a year. Nothing wrong with lying low for a while if it's doing your head in! Please let us know how you and the kids are getting on though :hug:
Congrats on your job too. Very exciting! Is it in the same field? I think I remember you saying a while back that you were after a change. DS's feeds are all over the show but I'm blaming teeth atm! Normally he has about 5 too. I'm going to try and night wean soon too and would love if he would drop back to a morning and night feed. That's my dream anyway he's probably got other ideas ;)

Kailani - Read Lilimas!! You've got a great attitude too btw. It's so true, if someone means to offend a person, they usually make it pretty clear and direct! :)

Malyna - walking and crawling, no wonder he thinks he's hot stuff :lol: DS isn't moving much yet although he tries very hard so it won't be long. I'm sorry you coped the attitude from the nurse! They can be a bit insensitive at times. I hope the next 6 weeks flies!

Shell - we had a 5.5hour block of sleep last night - first one that long in about 2 months so maybe it's working already??

Nai - i'm going to give gordon a go when we get back from sleep, if I don't have any luck with their ideas.. Alex just screams when he goes into his cot, I have absolutely no idea what to do about it.

Kaz - yeah he's been walking/crawling for ages now - the last few days, he's been free standing (when he's not thinking about it, distracted by toys etc), so he can walk, I think he's just being too lazy or maybe not enough confidence.. that will teach me for saying that I wanted a baby that didn't walk until he was 19mths - LOL I should have learnt when I got the opposite of the birth plan :rolleyes:


What have you girls got planned for 1st birthdays? Any thoughts? I have no idea, was thinking about having a BBQ, or just a picnic somewhere, nothing big and splashy - only know one other baby that would come along

Olive- is she usually TT at night? Thats pretty good, Ash still needs night nappies, think will be long time before night TT.

Malyna- nothing big here for the 1st birthday, BBQ with few friends and family.

Kaz- how did the meet up go? It can be quite daunting meeting people for the first time.

Well we had a crap night! It was alright until 3.30am but then she wouldn't go back to sleep until about 5am!! I don't know what it is, this is the second night in a row. Usually she just feeds back to sleep easily. Teeth maybe. She keeps pulling on her ears and sticking her fingers in there too. How would I know if she had an ear infection??

Heaven - pulling ears can be teeth - you could take her to the dr to get them looked at to be sure.

Olive - sounds like your going to be busy.

am laying on the floor typing and Alex just 'crawled' over my back like a car going over a hill - LOL - he didn't stop, just kept going..all the lure of the wires behind the TV

shell she got day and night TT on the same day :o been TT for 8 months onky had 4 accidents so pretty good!!

we havent night fed in a whole week :dance: been sleeping 9-12 hours straight average being around 11!!

heaven hope you get a better night tonight!!!

AFM - I have sent the boys otu of the house for a few hours - I wasn't coping and I'm finding that the gap between episodes is becoming more frequent. I'm so angry at everything at the moment, battling depression without meds is really tough - i think i forgot how hard it is...

Well alex is still not asleep, and he's bawling his eyes out in the lounge and I don't have it in me to settle him..but that's life hey.

Friday was shocking, Saturday shocking and today has been half okay but she is just clinging to me so much. Wont let anyone else except DP sometimes (but thats only if she cant see me).

Kaz- How are the beads? I am ordering some this Wed (payday) as I will do anything to stop the pain.

ali arrhhhh bad few days for ash, we have beads and either they dont do too much for M or she would be worse without them but shes not a good teether.

AFM crap night last night, she woke at 12am and i was still trying to settle at 2am so i fed her, woke at 5.30am DH settled then up at 6.40am, so tired today tooth is still breaking through

Olive- Teething sucks! Dont think I ever understood it until the last week and a half! Looks like another one is trying to cut through!

We were up at 11pm, 2am (I was so tired I didnt hear her, DP bought her in), fed her tried to put her back down and she creamed the house down which is very loud at that time of night, so I bought her in again and just went topless to bed so she could help herself through the night. She woke again at 5am. I didnt sleep at all really as I am paranoid about her crawling off the end of the bed again. :wall:

I have had a productive morning though. I have tidied kitchen & dining. Folded up and put away 2 big baskets of clothes and did the ironing for the week. Now I am going to go cook dinner while she is asleep. I always cook in the day as at night I am too tired to do it then! LOL!

And I have to go into work today as have a few things I need to set up in the classroom for this year.

Malyna- I am worried about you too. Is your DH being helpful and supportive? What about family are they around and supportive? Are you in therapy or anything like that? Would you consider going back on meds? What about some occassinal care for A just to give yourself time?

Malyna - how are you today? I wish we were closer so that we could help out :hug: Let us know if there is anything at all!!

Ali - I'm glad those teeth are coming through. I hope they are all over and done with quickly. I think we are off the hook for a while until the molars and canines come in - I hope they wait a while!!

My mum is coming down today to help me finish cleaning out the house - only 2 weeks until i goback to work :(

Well MR L has learnt some new tricks over the weekend down at the van... He now pulls him self up to a standing position and even went from abbey's little chair to the couch yesterday... He is also sleeping a bit better, generally not waking betwen 10pm and 5pm!! very good for him.. he has also learnt to dance along to music which he has not done before! Very cute to watch...

I hope everyone has some better days ahead!! We are heading back down to the van over the long weekend.

Ahh I'm so tired today. I can't remember how m any times DD woke last night but it was at least 6!! Put her in bed with us so we didn't have to keep getting up and slept better. But at least I know the cause now, definitely teeth! Number 5 has come through and we're waiting on number 6! Hurry up stupid tooth!!

ETA - Not sure how much effect the necklace is having. He's had it on since Thursday but that's the day the tooth finally broke through too. He's continued to whinge and whine a lot though. Dunno why. Don't think it's teeth - possibly frustration that he wants to move and can't yet but some of it seems like seperation stuff too. (Worse when I walk away from him or first reappear. Wants me or DP with him constantly etc). Nights have been marginally better (3-4 hourly waking only) the last couple that I can remember anyway :lol: but he still doesn't want to go to bed at 7pm like usual :rolleyes:

gosh ali i hope tonight gets better, how did she sleep today?

AFM - still feeling crappy and blah still... don't have a support network as such, the last time I trusted people with that (two of my sisters) they used it against me - after I left my ex and was diagnosed with PTSD, but I'll get over it, always manage to haul my sorry butt up the steep hill of life somehow.

Olive- I was saying same thing this morn, 2nd tooth has just come thru and been a nightmare for both. Have fun tonight, I love having a night at the pokies, rarely get to tho.

Malyna- Maybe look into some type support group?

Kaz- Emily is quite clingy too, last few days I have seen improvement tho, but we had terrible times. I used to just sit on the floor that way she was happy she could play and I still be right there.

Pinny- thats great with the sleep, good solids space there.

Well here we have been clearing out our house of crap, plus starting to clear out alot baby stuff seeing as thats it for us! Put some stuff on e-bay.

Oh and I have Finally moved Emily out of my room! I miss seeing her cot in there already tho. I feel bit sad I won't wake up to her cute face there.

HI girls.. back from the MCHN visit. Alex hasn't put on any weight since his last visit... the nurse suggested I go see a counsellor and gave me the idea of putting alex in his cot and sitting in the same room as him for him to settle.. trouble is he is crying his little heart out now (well actually screaming the house down). I've tried the nice way to explain to her that the reason I'm depressed is because I don't get a decent night sleep but she doesn't seem to get it. So I have to visit her again on the 9th feb to see if Alex has put on any weight.

I posted a video on FB showing how fast he moves with his walker, he's been on the go since he was 6mths.. I really am ready to scream at the MHCN but she wouldn't listen. I think i'll ring tomorrow and go and see a different nurse, perhaps one with children.

Sorry am very annoyed at the nurse.. and I'm over going to bed at 7.30 and staying awake til 2am so I can have a few hours to myself (although i can't leave the mattress)... I&*&&)&)&^%%

Pinny - yep I'm going back 3 days a week to work and doing half a day swimming teaching so 3.5days all up.

Kaz - Mr J sounds just like Miss J was about a month ago! She has been so much better the last week or so - it does pass!!

Olive - haven't cracked the vodka yet (for those who don't know - I found a full bottle at the back of the pantry when I was doing teh spring cleaning. Made it all worthwhile really :D ). Miss J thinks she is so clever with her walker!

Malyna - :hug: I hope you get a better MHCN tomorrow who will listen to you.

Malyna- Def ask to see someone else. :hug: I wish I could come and give you a hand or just take Alex off your hands so you could have some time for yourself. I'll send you a PM as I dont have you on FB. I shouldnt really be one to talk as I am not a professional but I dont think Ashlyn has put on any weight in the last month but I put it down to all the crawling, pulling herself up and walking with her walker. All of that would be burning a lot more of the baby fat.

Shell, Kaz & Jols- I think this teething thing is def the link between bad sleep!!! Arrrh hope it eases soon.

We are also going through seperation stuff as well. Its so exhausting. Throws herself back if I pass her to someone else.

DD also has an obsession with nectarines (she says thanks Nai for giving mummy the idea to give me a nectarine) and blueberries! Far out! At least its healthy I suppose.

Still having lots of night wakes but at least I am on holidays so I shouldnt complain.

Ali - don't thank me, thank Juliette - she was the one who just took one out of the bowl and helped herself :lol:

L has been dosed up of nurofen for the past 3 or 4 nights. He is really irritable and sore and the teeth are driving him and me nuts :( Nothing will settle him. I'm feeling really bad, like I'm going to snap. I just have to put him down on the floor, let him scream and cry, walk away and sit down resting my head in my hands. I feel like a zombie just walking around hardly awake. I need sleep!!!

Sighhh...can't wait for this to pass :(

AFA (as for Alex) he slept like a log last night when he eventually went to sleep at 10pm - didn't move at all - but getting him to sleep involved 20 minutes of CIO in the cot (I kept laying him down and he kept standing up, then he threw up and I thought DH was going to cry he was getting so upset about it).. it was so rough last night - the worst night ever, even panadol wouldn't help him sleep.

Arrh we have vomit here!! Lewis been vomiting since 5pm!! Has stopped now, but is so unsettled, not sure what he has got just :pray: it is not Gastro! We are meant to be going away again tomorrow.....My poor little man

I tried cows milk on his cereal (only a little) today was the first time he has had it, he had a loose bowel motion about half hour later but seemed ok during the day just not that keen on food, do you guys rekon it could be that???? I'm not convinced as it was so long after but won't be trying it again for a while????

Holly_- maybe teeth :hug: Hope it passes soon

Malyna- glad A slept through but :hug: for the rough time settling him. DD is now doing the stanidng thing in the cot. Hope that you are all okay.

Girls I have been thinking so much about Tracey and Milana lately. I thought Tracey might have left BB but I found out she has just changed names but I dont think she comes on very much at all. I want her to know that we are thinking of her and also acknowledge that Milana's birthday is approaching but dont really know how to go about it without being intrusive. Its just so sad that she isnt here in our group. :(

Malyna - I really hope you get a better MCHN next visit. DS didn't put on any weight at all (30g) between 8-9 months. But then last month he put on nearly half a kilo. They go up and down. Please don't stress about his weight. He's a little speed demon!! I hope you start to get somewhere with the sleep. Once you're getting more sleep you'll definitely feel better. I'd love to take that bamboo off your hands if it's still avail. Do you still have my addy? I'll pm it to you again if not.

Nai - Thanks for the light at the end of the tunnel. I keep thinking that things should improve (hopefully!) by the time he's 12 months old.

Shell - That's sad that DD is no longer in your room! But you got 11 months. Be glad for the time you had, I only had 4 months :(. It's also a bit sad that you're clearing out baby gear (IMO) - hope you're keeping a few things for the memories.

Olive - Enjoy the pokes :rofl:

Pinny - Oh poor L. I dunno much about babies vomitting - DS possits on me all the time still (twice today) after feeding but that's not vomitting. Cows milk should be ok at this age. I thought it was between 9-12 months ok?? But if it's not cows milk, then it's gastro and I'm not wishing that on you guys!! Hope he's feeling much better overnight and your trip away is relaxing.

Holly/Ali/Olive and others I've forgotten with non-sleeping, in-pain babies sending you all a massive :grouphug: Look after yourselves girls!!

Olive, L has been a clingy baby since day dot!

I must say, the last night and tonight he's been pretty good at going back to sleep after waking. He just wants a little comfort suck and then he comes off the bbs and rolls over and back to sleep. He prefers to face away from me!

Malyna and Pinny - eek at the vomit. Hope it's nothing serious.

I never knew Tracey as I wasn't in this belly buddies group, but it breaks my heart thinking about it. I can't imagine what she must be enduring :(

Gee, I don't know why I do this to myself, staying up so late and then I'm still so tired in the morning when L wakes up :doh:
