Olive, when you typed that "where is everyone?" post I was trying to write a reply on my phone... much like Kailani it got lost and I got frustrated and went to bed instead, LOL. I'm such a rager these days... this weekend I was in bed 8.30pm Fri, 10pm Sat and Sun.
I don't even know if the Bombers won... must go look it up. Tried to decipher it from Shell's post on FB but could not...
This new format still messing with me a bit - currently typing in the "Go Advanced" reply mode and I can't see the right-most section of what I'm writing, the cursor just disappears under the smilies! Most confusing.
Olive - grr on the bad sleep still. You poor thing, must be so hard. DD has been sleeping well for once ATM, which I am so appreciating. Last night I went to the loo at about midnight, then didn't get out of bed til about 6am which was lovely. Was busting by the stage though
You asked about words too - DD's vocab is amazing, we are impressed - she says Man-ma for Grandma, Nanna, A-bel (for herself, so cute), Boo for book or boob (lol), Moo for milk, Bo-bo for botle (as in water bottle) and Moh for more. Also says "tur-tle!", "up" if she wants to be picked up, "nown!" if she wants to be put down, "off" if she's trying to get into her toybox... Sometimes she says things and I'm like "what are you saying?" but other times she's clear as a bell.
Maybe that's because I talk so much??
Kailani - clearly AF came back for me :D Aaaand now it is gone again :D Prob when L stops feeding as much as he still is (if he ever does hehe) it might come back then?
Aww Nai - that's a bit sad, but I agree - definitely a good innings! DD almost didn't want a feed this morning and I was thinking "Is this it?" but then she had one so maybe not quite yet. But I do get the feeling that she's not as keen anymore.
Lilima - great that J is getting back to normal. I know what you mean about getting onto BB - I can only really get on and spend time catching up when I am at work, which is terrible, I am a bad employee. No I'm not bad exactly, I am just not motivated to do anything at work. Why would I be?? Anyway...
We have a little climber too. Every time I turn around she's found something else to hoist herself up on. The other day she tried to stand on a box of blocks (the red little box with the yellow lid, that you put the shaped blocks through the shaped holes?) which is clearly not big or stable enough to stand on, I told her no and pulled her off, went into the kitchen and she got back up onto it then pulled a whole box of toys over onto herself when she fell off the box. Sigh. At least she might learn now NOT to climb on that particular box.
Ali - yay on your holiday! I want to go to Fiji!!!!!!! Maybe if DH's work is going well we might be able to go early next year... sigh, so far away! Have you started a count down yet??
Kaz - you poor thing on the sleep. I don't think sleep school would hurt - the worst that could happen is you go, they tell you something you don't want to hear, so you leave. Otherwise it might be really beneficial! You can't keep existing on so little sleep.
Woooo for Ellie!! I was wondering if she'd popped yet! Did I reply to the BA? Might have to go check it out...
Pinny - LOL at the handbag! Too cute!
Hi to everyone else!!
Update from me - not much to update except I pulled a rib out apparently so now I feel justified for whinging about my back hurting! So now I'm trying to find a good osteo to go and see... apart from that, counting down til I finish work, looking forward to the Melb dinner on Fri night (with a bit of trepidation I must add hehehe) and struggling through each day. I'm generally exhausted by 3-4pm ever day... ahh the joys of late pregnancy!
Hope everyone else is going well!!
-
Oh yay, Bombers won!!!! Woo!!! :confetti:
Bit slow on the updake here...
-
I just wrote out a long reply and lost it cause I hit the purple reply to thread button!!! :wall: I made comments for everyone too :( Now I CBF'd and have run out of time :(
Thinking of you all girls. Great to hear your news. Congrats to Ellie!! Well done hun!
No real improvements in sleep here. We're seeing the CFHN later this week but I don't have a lot of faith in sleep training so my hopes aren't very high. We've been away for the weekend without DP so am really tired. DS has another cold now too so we're off to the doctor soon.
-
Hello all! It's freezing here today! Terrible night last night. I thought something was seriously wrong with DD but I think it's just teething. This is the worst we've had it yet. She's getting 2 top molars at the same time. She woke at 10.30 and screamed like she was in so much pain for an hr. NOTHING would calm her, we tried all her favorite things. Eventually DH took her outside and she stopped and was calm enough for me to feed her to sleep. Booby usually fixes everything, and a bath always cheers her up but not last night. There's nothing else I can find wrong with her and today she has red cheeks with a bit of a rash on them. :( Poor baby. Apart from that sleep was going great, we were getting 6 hr stretches and then another 3-4 which is absolutely amazing for her!! As you all know! She has been a shocker with sleep since she was born, lol.
Now to catch up!
OP- you asked about food. DD is the same. Eats a lot during the day but not too fussed on dinner. I want her to eat more at dinner so I know she's not hungry during the night but nope, won't have it!! Even stuff she usually likes. I think I might be giving her a snack too close to dinner but I can't hold her out til dinner, she's always hungry just a bit earlier. Maybe I need to move dinner earlier and then give her a light snack before bed, hmmm... but then she wouldn't eat with us.
lilima- how are you feeling? Being sick for a couple of months isn't good!!
Kaz- sorry to hear sleep isn't much good there atm, I can totally sympathise. I have no suggestions though, only night weaning has seemed to improve things for us and you've already done that haven't you?
Ellie- I posted in your BA thread but CONGRATULATIONS again!!!!!!!! Two little girls now, what a blessing :hooray:
Ali- I have missed something about your trip?? Was it on FB? How could I have missed it? lol. I keep up with most of you on FB way better than here! It sounds awesome though, swing by here and pick me up on the way ;)
Pinny- pmsl at DS's first steps with a pink handbag  so cute.
Shell- yep, climber here too. And we have tiles everywhere so it's not fun when she falls!! She keeps getting on her bike and standing up on the seat and rocking it and then standing up with no hands. Recipe for disaster. When I tell her 'no' she just does it anyway or has a tantrum bc I told her no, lol.
Olive- You asked about talking...DD has recently just taken off with it. She understands so much and now she's starting to just say new things all the time. She listens intently and watches my lips when I say something and next thing I know she's saying it. She really only said mum and dad and puppy for ages and it's just the last few weeks all these new words have come out. So, let me think, she now says: Mum, Dad, Puppy, Nan, Harry, put on (for shoes, hat, etc), more and done WRT food, boots, ball, ticka ticka (when tickling you), pool, pooh (as in, winnie the pooh), no, pillow, ta, get down, bye bye, no-na (yoghurt apparently??), booey (booby), bird, duck, bath, bow noe (blow nose, whenever I go to the toilet she comes in saying 'bow noe!!' and gets some toilet paper to blow her nose, pmsl), here! (when playing peek-a-boo), bess (for 'bless you'), baby, nana (banana). That's all I can think of. There are a few things she says a lot that I haven't worked out what they are yet. That does seem a lot now I've written it down but it's literally only been in the last few weeks, talk about language explosion alright!
Nai- Oh, how sad, but at least it's her decision!! That's great!! We are no where near weaning here, lots of feeds still, boobyholic.
Kailani- I just got AF back 2 wks ago!! Thought it was never going to come but it must have been the night weaning that was enough to get it back. DD is still feeding around 5-7 times a day though!!
-
Looks like I spoke too soon - she wanted a feed this morning :D
-
 nai!!
OP you type too much  you too heaven!
we have that same red toy/shape sorter too, im surprised m hasnt tried to stand on it!!
im glad sleeps going better!!
heaven, wow lots of words!! M understands heapsm has down for ages, but doesnt feed the need to talk!! doesnt really need too with a big sister!! how is G this morning??
M has ANOTHER ear infection :shakehead: cant believe it :(
one the bright side i got to see Pinny and L today :D
-
Kaz- I did the exact same thing last time I posted. So frustrating. great to hear from you.
Olive-Thumbs down to another ear infection. Hope it doesnt last long.
Heaven-Yep we are going in September so cant wait.
Nai- You have done so well. I guess she will just finish when ready
Hi to everyone else.
My poor baby has been so clingy and whingy lately and waking heaps at night and I just saw today she has cut 2 top molars plus another top and bottom tooth (so 4 teeth coming through at once). Poor little poppit. DD hardly says any words :( Its more just dadada, occasionally mum, for up she just makes the quick 'p' sound with her arms in the air (LOL). She dos kind of sing row row row your boat but saying "row, row, row" and a bit of mumble jumble. I guess she will talk eventually and hopefully be less frustrated.
-
Olive - That totally sucks DD has another ear infection. You must be so over it! I hope she gets better soon.
Heaven - Wow that's heaps of words!! DS has just started in the past week to add more than just mum, dad, nan, & bub. I asked him to pick up his socks this morning and he said "ok" clear as and then picked them up! Apparently he also said his name today too. There are heaps of words coming every day now. I only tend to hear them once though!
Nai - Whoot!! maybe not weaning after all :)
Bella - Oh man 4 teeth at once! I can't imagine. Poor bubba!
AFU - Just had to come in here tonight and do a little happy  DS slept for 11.5 hours last night :leap: :leap: :leap: It's the longest stretch he's ever done and I can't remember the last time he "slept through" before now. He is sick, didn't eat much dinner and I was expecting a rough one but got 8 hours of uninterupted sleep!!!! I actually went and checked he was still breathing this morning. Got fingers crossed for tonight but not holding much hope. It's way too much to expect it two nights in a row. My secret? Nurofen! First time he ever had it in his life was last night. Pity I can't give it to him every night ;)
-
Meg- Glad to hear J is on the mend, has taken its time hasn't it. Hope you find some free time to pop in here, we will miss you otherwise! How cute on the go roos thing, lol.
Holly- yeah we get tantrumns here, tiny things can set her off sometimes. When do you move house or have you done so already? Our poor saints can't believe we blew our chance last year. Wonder if we'll pick up again, hoping its just a slump.
Op- yes bloody bombers did win, not happy! Lol. I'm not surprised you are so exhausted, so much harder being preg with #2, I think I felt more tired at the end of my pregnancy than I did after she was born. When do you finish work? How many days left?
Kaz- Hope you're getting some sleep there.
Olive- With all these ear infections are they planning to do anything about it? Will you need to see an ENT or something or just hope this is the end of it? No wonder you're so tired, and when they're sick it always seems to stuff up there sleeping.
Nai- Hope you get a few more BF's out of her. DD1 was this age when she weened, was quite sad.
Heaven- How is she doing today? Poor thing, its horrible when they won't settle. You feel so lost then. I'll keep the fresh air in mind next time one of the girls is upset, see if it works for me.
Ali- Those molars are a pain aren't they, Em always gets terrible teething poo too and that upsets her more I think. Don't worry Em doesn't say all that much either, she says some things that I think are words but she does understand things so I'm not worried.
Took DD1 to Wiggles concert this arvo, she seemed to enjoy it, was nice for her to have a day just her and I, got my mum over to look after Emily so took our time out, had maccas for lunch, so Ash had lovely day.
Emily getting cheeky, took them to the park yesterday and she kept trying to wander off, would look at me laugh then wave and run off! Then when I'd say no she'd crack it and would start all over again.
-
Kaz, you posted when I did, woohoo on the sleep, I hope you are mentally and physically feeling a little better for getting a decent night for a change. Hopefully one good night leads to more.
-
Morning all,
Kaz, wooooohoooo on the sleep! Bout time you got a good one - even if it was with a bit of assistance from Neurofen :D How did you go last night?? Don't fret too much about the words, you are right he will talk when he is ready, but don't forget Mr J is a few weeks younger than our bubs and I reckon DD has only started saying all these words in the last few weeks.
I keep forgetting how much difference even small age gaps can make - we have an almost 2yo (my niece), then a couple of 15mth olds, then 9-11mth olds in our playgroup and I am amazed at how different the three groups of kids are. My sister can say things to my niece like "You can't hit a little baby like that because they are small, you are bigger and you can hurt them, even if you don't mean it" and I'm there saying to DD "Gentle, GENTLE!" as she beats up these littler kids because she doesn't understand the concepts of hurting or being bigger/smaller. Well not really anyway.
Shell - go Bombers :D I'm amazed they won... their form has been so spotty this year. And last year, and the one before, LOL. I'm not too enthused by footy at the moment... DD is a cheeky thing too, sounds like like Em! She stands up on the couch then looks at me to make sure I'm watching and does her "I'm so cute" face where she grins and wrinkles up her nose, she knows perfectly well she is not supposed to stand/walk on the couch!
I've got 7 more work days left - tomorrow and then two weeks of three days. Not that I'm counting... much ;)
Ali - no good on your little bubba being a bit more clingy. Those 4 teeth must have hurt! Hope she is back to happy baby soon. On a side note, how tricky is getting now to actually see how many teeth they have?? I have to try and peer in when she is laughing or yawning - fingers in DD's mouth get automatically munched now! See what I wrote above about words...
Olive, I had the same thought as shell - are you going to see an ENT or paed or anything? Poor M, seems like she's had a bit of a rough trot with the infections! Poor thing. Poor you too, with lack of sleep...
Looking forward to catching up on Fri night - you're coming right??
Heaven - how's DD been sleeping since cutting those molars? Hope she is settling a bit better. So you've got AF back huh? How is the TTC thinking going?? FYI - AF came back for me when we night weaned too - like you, DD was still feeing 4-6 times during the day and back it came. Different for everyone I guess.
AFM: I'm working from home today, had my ribs treated by an osteo last night and feeling a bit sore today so set up computer on the dining room table so I can go lie down on the couch when I need to. Also meant I could sleep in, take DD down to my MIL, have a leisurely shower for once, dry my hair properly, have a proper breakfast instead of eating on the run, all good things.
I think DD is finally starting to transition to one day sleep - but its hard work. She wakes every day between 6.15am and 6.45am, if we are at home just playing around, its like she gets bored and tired around 9 or 10am, but the last couple of times I tried to put her down at that time she'd only sleep for max an hour, or less, and then be up again. So I'd try for another sleep later in the day and no go, she'd just scream. Then she's falling over delirious baby by about 5pm because she's been awake for 6 or 7 hrs.
So my new strategy is to try and do something in the morning, go out or visit someone, she seems to get not so tired then and I've been putting her down at more like 11am-noon, she's been sleeping for 1.5-2hrs, then she's great in the arvo.
Anyone else noticed the boredom thing being at home? Its probably not helped by me being so uncomfortable and not my usual bouncy self wanting to play with her... bad mummy...
-
Sorry I have been a bad buddy - I just can't keep up and am so sleep deprived it isn't funny! Miss J has been waking for a bottle during the night - every night for the last few weeks and it is driving me crazy! She is refusing food so I think she might be hungry but she seems to have stopped being able to self settle and needs me to come in. It is getting ridiculous!
Kaz - yay on getting some sleep!
Bella - the teeth are such hard work - I can't wait until the teething stops!
OP - only 7 more work days woohoo!!! How exciting!
Sorry -J grizzling - have to run
-
Hello peoples,
Nai -I really hope things get better soon.
OP - I would be counting toO!
Kaz - Yay on the sleep through.
Holly - It was great to hear from you!
Shell - mum took my two to the Wiggles yest too, they both had a blast! (10am session)
I don't remember who was asking about words, but E says heaps - Too much to list. I am sure that we are the only ones that understand her though.
J spiked a temp last night, and I had to take today off work to stay home with him, as he couldn't go to childcare. (still sent E though) It was so quiet at home down one child! And here I was thinking that J was the noisy one! A nyway he is fine now, though both of them have runny noses again. In fact they have had runny noses for about 2 months now. Any good recommendations on vitamins or supplements that I could give them to assist?
I am going to try and go in to work for a couple of hours on Friday so not to eat in to my sick leave. I don't have that much accrued yet as I have only just gone off a casual contract.
-
Kaz- Awesome work on the sleep.
Lilima- We have been running temps lately with teething, etc and we seem to constantly have snotty noses all due to Daycare I am sure.
Nai- DD has been waking for a bottle at nights as well. Normally around 12 which isnt so bad. I always have a small one (just 80mL) made up in the fridge as that seems to be enough for her. DD went all day today basically refusing food. She had a corn thin cracker thing this morning at 9am and then nothing until 5pm when I actually got a decent dinner of spag bol and some broccoli into her.
OP- We are down to one day sleep now. (sigh)...Some days we might get 2 sleeps but that is maybe once every 2 weeks. I normally put her down at 11:30-12 at the latest and she will normally do 2 hours if she is at home (1 hour if she is at daycare). I am boring at home as well it seems. We have to go out each morning as DD will just whinge if we are at home. She loves being outside at the moment and chucks a tanty if we have to come in.
Olive- How is M today?
:hello: to everyone else
AFM- DD and I got our passport photos today. DD was great. She got the exact right photo on the 2nd go. They are so picky as well. Lips must be closed, eyes straight ahead and wide open, head the exact right size. She was great. Mine looks **** but CBF having it done again. All was going okay today until tonight when during bathtime, DD slipped (she was standing as she is always up, down, up, down) and smashed her head on the side of the bath, Massive egg on her forehead straight away. Massive cry, lots of cuddles and she is okay but far out the egg is big and coloured!! Havent told DP yet. The worst thing is, I was right there with my hand in the bath with the facewasher in my hand splashing the water and I jsut couldt grab her in time stop her falling.
I am off to work again tomorrow and then will be around on the weekend. xo
-
I find E much prefers to just feed herself. She is obsessed with Bananas at the mo. Always going to the fruit bowl and saying Nanna. Would she eat more if you just let her eat whatever on her own?
-
Hi guys sorry i have been reading just not posting!! A quick one L is cutting six teeth atm!!!! poor little man we have major dribble too!! Be back to do personals later.. Dd is sick too a virus so not a lot of fun at our house the past few days!!
-
I'm finding DD obsessed with feeding herself too! We try and have one spoon for her in the bowl, one for us that we try and shove in her mouth when she isn't paying attention... we manage to get a fair bit in that way ;)
Ali - big hugs  about the bath slip... happens to all of us...
Back in a bit, off for lunch right now
-
Wow, I'm so far behind...
Nai - sorry to hear that Miss J is not self settling.
OP woot on nearly finishing work.
Kaz - Alex doesn't say a lot of words either - cat, what's that, dadda, occassionally mum..
sorry have read the posts but my brain is in gaga land.... :grouphug:
Alex hasn't let me feed him for months. Occassionally I get a spoonful in but he's been doing it himself for a long time... his latest is he wants to pull the pieces of banana off and run around with him (one in each hand). One of these days I'm goign to find where he stashes all that banana.
he's still not self-settling at night, and I'm sleeping with him on the mattress on teh floor again. The one upside is we replaced the falcon stationwagon with a second hand car. I was driving home and some roadrage person decided to overtake me and cut in front of the car in front of me (even though we were all doing the speed limit).. Had to brake sharpish and the car made a really strange noise and I lost all confidence in the safety of the car. I love the new car. It is the absolute best car I have ever driven.
-
 Ali on the fall - it gives you a shock but they seem to forget it pretty quickly.
OP & Olive - it was great to see you two on Friday! OP you look gorgeous - I love your belly :D
I discovered why Miss J has been so horrid - I can see 4 little white points so it means all 4 canines are coming through at once. Yay once these are here we get a break until the 2 yo molars - woot!
J says a few things: Hello, Mum, yoyort (yoghurt), nana (banana), duddle (cuddle), dad, Ben, woof woof, toot toot (train noise), up and eyes. I think I heard NO come out of her mouth last night - which shouldn't surprise me really as it's probably the work she hears most from everyone  She said doo-lee-ette (Juliette) once but hasn't said it again :(
-
Nai- oh those canine can be horrible, and knowing how fast she teeths, she will prolly get her 2yr old molars at 18months or something. How is the eating going? She still refusing food?
Malyna- yay on new car but grr at that guy that cut you off, I so hate drivers like that, gets me angry, I don't want my kids injured cause of impatient idiots. Are you getting sleep if you co-sleep? Does he still wake often or sleeps better cause your there?
Pinny- seems the time of year for virus's, keep going round and round. How is your DD now?
Ali- Its awful when they hurt themselves like that but they are so tough and resilient. Try not feel bad, E is always standing in the bath, I'm amazed she hasn't fallen I have to growl sit down all the time.
So when do you go to Fiji? Gonna be so nice, will be good for your relationship too to have time away from everyday life, I find when we go away even if just few days it does our family wonders.
Meg- Not sure, maybe try those kids multi vitamins? Yeah Wiggles was great for Ash, bit boring for me lol, but she had great time. Was nice your mum took them. The merchandise was so exxy!
How is the new job going? How many days week is it?
OP- how's it all going there with new plan with day sleeps? I find more Ash gets bored here, Em just loves playing with everything, and following her around, lol. Hows the pain in your ribs? Settling down?
Glad you Melb girls had fun Friday night, I went out with friends from work so couldn't come to BB meet, but it was great having night out, dinner, drinks, non alcoholic for me seeing as I was driving. Matt complaing he was stuck with the girls 3 nights straight lol, well Wed thurs I worked so not like I was out having fun and I don't exactly enjoy working afternoon shifts, too bloody tiring!
-
Shell - i Hope ypu said to Matt "boo hoo - suck it up!!" As I paid for the Wiggles tix, mum ended up buying them seomething each, as she said since she didn't pay, she wanted to get them something. I am working 0.5. SO 2 days one week, and 3 the next.
Who was it that said they got a new car??! - Whoever it was - Yay on the new car!!
Nai - Owie on the teeth, but you are right, then they are over with till 2.
Anyone from Melb any good at Netball and can travel to Sunbury? We are short player this Thurs.
My sis took a MASSIVE tumble down her stairs while carrying her bub. Managed to keep the baby upright, but bruised her bum really badly. In face I have never seen a bruise so big!
My best friend had a baby boy this week. I am going in today for cuddles.
I got hit by a care yesterday. I was a pedestrian walking along and he came out of a driveway. Not fast, but enough to knock me over. He didn't even stop! Just drove off. I was sort of pushed to the side. It was all a bit surreal. It was like he saw me, had a chance to brake, but didn't.
-
My goodness this is playing up! I tried to edit my post, but it keeps bouncing back to the middle and not letting my type any more, so I have had to post it incomplete and start a new one. I was meaning to say it was not a residential driveway, but a shop driveway. Anyway I still don't get why he wouldn't ahve stopped. And I was a bit surprised, so I didn't get a chance to get his plate. Anyway I was not injured at all. Not even a scratch, but you are not meant to leave the scene of an accident.
I was meeting my SIL to look at wedding dresses. The dress she has chosen is lovely, but she has a bit of a pot tummy and it shows. She keeps saying that she will lose the weight for the wedding, and she might, but I think that she should get something that flatters her NOW and there is no guarentee that she will. I tried to explain this to her, but she thinks that she will get the weight off. (She is not fat BTH, it is just a very figure hugging dress that means anyone without a super flat tummy will have a bulge)
Just a few Q's - Anyone remember how you request a new AV? I want to change mine as Miss E is no longer a bub in my arms any more!
Also I have a question that would really only be suitable for the AO section,. I requested to become a member about a week ago, and I still am not. Anyone know who I should ask? Maybe they have denied me as I said I only want to join to ask one question, then after I have some people post responses, I will probably leave again, as it is not an area that I am generally interested in.
OK enough rambling. I just took the kids for a long walk (about 10 km) so want to go get a drink and some lunch.
-
Meg, maybe see who the mods are for the area and PM one of them? Maybe its got lost somewhere?
You know I was having that same prob with my post earlier I found I had to use the arrow keys on the keyboard instead of the mouse to get to where I wanted.
AV's I e-mailed to something like avatar@bellybelly just double check in platinum area, there is Q&A's somewhere in there.
Can't believe that car didn't even stop to apologise and see how you were! Sucks you didn't get his number but yeah I reakon I'd be a bit in shock too. Hope SIL is doing all those sit ups!
-
hey girls

my mum had her operation last weeks so glad that is done- she is doing really well - so that is a relief!!

other than that- life is hetic but good

-
Morning ladies,
Well I had a great time at the meet up on Fri night, I'm so glad I went! Nai and Olive, so good to see you guys again - can we track down that photo??? Thanks to both of you for finding me and making sure I was ok :D Much love to you both xxxx
Det - nice to see you're still alive!! Are you coming tomorrow? We miss you! DD hasn't got a playmate :( She keeps trying to play with the younger bubs but she's still a bit rough...
Lilima - there is no telling some people, no matter how hard you try. Were the sales people helpful at all??? I cannot believe you were knocked aside by a car and they didn't even stop???? How rude and a little bit scary for you. Hope you're all ok. Also hope your sis and bub are ok - ouch on the fall.
Shell - lol @ DH with the girls three nights in a row. Isn't it funny how sometimes they just assume that mummy will be around for looking after, but when we want to do something its a big deal as who is looking after bubs? I found that on Sunday - DH had just organised a whole day of scuba diving, he was going to be gone before 8am and not home til after 7pm... so when I reminded him that I was planning to go to movies, all of a sudden its my issue to find someone to look after DD, or not go! Why is it always assumed that it is the mother's job???
Nai - are the canines the ones that come through after the eight in the front and the first molars? Are they next to the four top and bottom teeth? If so, I think we are getting them as well - DD has red bulgy gums top and bottom (bottom worse) and she has been a bit whingy off and on. And her nose won't stop running. Its been running for like three weeks now - but she isn't sick.
Might go google teeth... that'd explain the average behaviour. At least her sleep doesn't seem toooo affected...
Malyna - woot on the new car! Fantastic :D Not fantastic about the sleep but at least you are trying to find something that works for you guys. I hope you are able to get some rest???
Ali - hope you've all recovered from the fall. I saw on FB that DD had been sick as well - hope she is feeling better by now.
Olive - how has Miss M been with sleep? How did they behave for DH on Fri night??
Kaz/Heaven/Pinny/anyone else? - hope you guys are going well!
AFU: well we have had a mixed weekend with DD and milestones!!!! Some of this has been on FB so sorry for the doubling up...
Good milestone - she's into the big bed! Had her last night sleep in the cot Fri night (DH did try to put her down after I'd gone into the meet up but she cried so he chickened out and put her back in the cot LOL) and since Sat day has been in the big bed. Seems to be going pretty well so far - but we have been careful to always pick her up, lie her down and put her to bed, then pick her up when she wakes, as opposed to letting her get into and out of the bed herself.
She can get in and out herself, when she plays she climbs up and down on the bed all the time, but when its sleep time I don't think she's quite realised she can get out! Fingers crossed that keeps up for a little while...
Seems to be going well, so we're hoping it'll be a nice easy transition. She'll be in a cot today at my MIL's house though... hopefully that won't change things at our house.
Bad/sad milestone - I think she's weaned  I've posted in the infant-led BF section... I'm a little relieved as I was worried about how she would cope without a feed for the time that I was in hospital and in labour, so its good to know she is ok - but I am still sad. Got a little teary last night when I realised she'd gone to bed with no "boo". I know you guys will understand...
Heaven - I'm sorry, that's prob not what you want to hear as I know you are keen to continue BF right through - but she's just not interested anymore.
-
Hi everyone
I've found you! I don't think I can possibly catch up on everything but I will try!
Miss A is coping really well with being a big sister to her not so little sister...4225grams...no way I was pushing her out...head circumference 38cm...no wonder I'm feeling better than I have in months...DH...not coping so well without sleep but has heard my suggestion that he should just SUCK IT UP!!! LOL!!!
Will do my best to be a better buddy...Ex

Ellie! Great to see you!!! Congrats on the safe arrival of Tehya!!!
-
great to hear from you Ellie!!
i'll try and get back tomorrow, sleep is crap, porbably the worst its ever been :( off to the ENT next week, man i hope they say she needs grommets, currently has glue ear again, so very over it all :grouphug:
-
Det- good to hear from you! sounds like things still hectic there but slowly getting better. Hope you're getting some sleep or you still up at ungodly hours of the night?
Ellie- Congrats again on Tehya! It can be very tiring with 2 littlies but things will settle, take one day at a time, does A still have day sleeps? Hoping they sleep at same time so you can have a lay down.
Olive- I hope they say she needs grommets too, how many times does she have to get sick with same problems before4 they do something. It seems like your whole year has been filled with ear infections!
OP- Sorry to hear she has weaned, it is sad when that journey comes to an end. Has she had anymore feeds since you posted? Its alot at once for you with her, weaning and going into big girl bed, be nice if we could keep them as our little babies. Well I guess we'll always see them as that!
I hope you got to go to the movies sunday, yeah they can be annoying, Df always just announces he is going out but I have to give notice usually so he knows to plan it in his life!
-
Morning ladies,
Olive - hope the ENT give you some answers and they look seriously at grommets. How much can they expect one little bub to endure? Not to mention her exhausted mumma. Really feel for you right now, wish there was something more I could do for you!
Shell - yep, managed to get to the movies on Sunday. Was so nice to have an afternoon off, even if I was extremely wriggly the entire way thru due to my sore back :( But it was still nice. I did a few shopping things while I was there which was nice without having to wrangle a pram and a kid with me!
Det - so bummed I didn't get to see you yesterday! Again!! Never mind, we will get there at some point.
AFM: not much more to update. Went to the osteo last night, she tried to pop my ribs back into place as she was unhappy with the lack of improvement, which freaked me right out - such a loud cracking noise! But it is still really sore today so :dunno:
DD still seems to be doing well in the big bed (touch wood!) and hasn't figured out she can get out yet (double touch wood!). Shell you are right - lots of big changes, weaning, big bed... its all happening too fast :(
But only 5wks give or take til new bubs so I guess its a good thing!
-
Hey girls - wow there's so much to catch up on!
Ellie - Congrats again hun!! lol at your DH, he must have forgotten what he was in for!! Hope everything is still going well and you are enjoying all the newborn cuddles!
Malyana - Whoot on your new car!! Great stuff.
Det - Great to hear from you - glad that there is some light at the end of the tunnel with all the ops and stuff.
Lilima - :o at the car who hit you and didn't stop! That's full on. So glad you are ok though.
Ali - hope you're having a good time tonight. It sucks when they fall. DS has done the same thing in the bath with me right there too. He constantly has eggs and scrapes now.
olive - I really hope DD2 can get grommet or some kind of treatment. I've lost count of the number of ear infections and problems you guys have had now. You must be so over it and your poor DD in pain all the time. for your sleep situation too. It's not fun.
[COOLR="darkred"]Nai[/COLOR] - Hope DD2 has gone back to sleeping through. It's hard when you've got to go to work the next day and you feel like you've been up half the night!
Shell - Glad you had a good night out! Your footy comments on fb always make me smile!
Heaven - Love your photos hun! You are seriously talented with a camera and I am so tempted to buy it off you so I can learn to take great shots like that! Do you edit them at all?
OP - Sending you a massive  I think although it makes rational sense that your DD has weaned now and it's "good timing" in one way, emotionally is always a different story. I have been feeding DS through pain for the past 2 months just about (mostly only once a day) because I don't want to wean him. Rationally for me it would make sense to wean but I just don't want to yet so I think I know how you feel. It's great that she's going well in the big bed! Hope it lasts for you.
Who else did I forget? I know there'll be someone - hello Pinny, Kailani and anyone else!
AFU - I don't want to jinx myself but we've had a pretty good week with sleep. Still not perfect but such a huge improvement on where we were at. I'm really hoping it lasts and continues to improve. I actually feel more like a normal human being now! Thanks for reading all my constant whinging in here too girls :hugs: It really did help me retain some sanity!
-
Hi Everyone!
Kaz - Yay on the sleeping - I hope it has been contuinuing to be good for you and that Mr J has turned the corner. It just makes such a huge difference when you get a few nights of unbroken sleep.
OP - how is your back today? Has I being staying in her big bed? DD1 took about 6 months before she realised that she could get out of hers - I don't think Miss J will take that long once she gets into a big bed. She is nowghere near ready though yet as she still rolls all over the cot - she would be falling out a couple of times a night!
Olive - how is Millie's ear? Have you been tot he ENT yet? Fingers crossed you get some results and you can get it fixed :(
Meg - How is everything with you? I have to get a new avvy too now that Miss J is walking - I have to think of something good to have in it.
Ellie - good to hear from you! How are you coping with the 2 girls? I agree that your DH just needs to suck it up!
Det - Good to hear from you too! I hope your FIL's op goes okj and that that is the end of hospiatl visits for you for a long while!! You have had such a rough trot!
Malyna - Yay on the new car - I bet you are loving it! Our car has been away for the last 2 weeks getting fixed from all the hail damage from the big storm - I hope it's back soon.
AFU - I think that Miss J has weaned, actually I know she has weaned and I'm probably still in a bit of denial :( She hasn't had a feed since Sunday and wakes up now asking for "bobble" - a plastic object has replaced my bb's in her affections. I guess it had to happen some time.
-
I CAN NOT KEEP UP!!!
lol just popping me head in once again, hope all is well with everyone xxx
-
RR  hun hope your ok, bet you cant wait for QLD!!!

lilma i have issues editing as well, go in to advanced edit as that works!
Ali
Ellie how are your girls going??
AFU ........ crap-ola weeks  M is constantly fluidy at the moment, being assessed tuesday for grommets, hearing test monday.. over the servere lack of sleep, though the past few nights have been better re settling but still waking 3-4 times and to top it off i have a sore throat tonight
-
Just popping in to see how everyone's going...I am really struggling to keep up!
I've just got home after a second stint in hospital...OB calling it 'retained product'...yukky made me very sick so had to have a D&C...was a huge mission getting back to hossy with a 2 week old and 15 month in tow but it's all over now...sooooo happy to be home and feeling better thanks to loads of antibiotics :)
-
oh gosh ellie, take care hun
-
Ellie- Oh god, glad to hear you are feeling better tho, you must've been so sick. How is it all going with 2 littlies? Getting much sleep?
Olive- I hope the do the grommets for her, its ridiculous how many ear infections she has had they had better do something! Might even help her be alot more settled too if her ears aren't irritating her.
RR- I hope you're doing ok? Look after yourself. Your holiday will be good for you.
Nai- That end of the road is sad, I always tried to look at it as I'm glad she decided to wean and not me having to make her.
Kaz- How is the sleep continuing?
OP- How is everything your way? Ribs and back? Hope you're nearly finished at work, don't know how you drag yourself in there with all the pains.
I've been lucky found some things dumped outside for hard rubbish so cleaned them up for the girls, Fisher price Dolls house, Little mermaid dressing table and other week I got a plastic seesaw.
-
Very quick one here as can hardley functrion!
E was up for 4 hours overnight. Then slept till 9:30. *sigh*
Ellie - I hope you are ok.
Nai - sad that she weaned, but a new chapter to move on to.
Shell - yay on your find
Everyone else hi!
