OP - Sorry to tell you but this is just the start of more to come! Most kids display this sort of behaviour. On the weekend E hit a baby on the head with a toy and eye gouged another. I just don't think that they realise that it hurts.
I think e has learnt some of it off J though.
She is quite sick atm. Has been vommiting for the past few days. I have reverted back to putting her in the sling sitting on my hip so that I can get some stuff done/ She is asleep in the sling at the moment. Unfortunately James has had to watch a stack of TV as I basically need to hold her all day. She has quite a high temp too.
Shell - I really hope things improve soon.
Hi to everyone else.
Goingto sign off now, as my hand is in a awkward position due to thr sling so it is hard to type.
OP - Alex learnt about gentle from an early age - with one really affectionate, patient cat, who does the most stupid things with alex. But he still hits, but if we say gentle he wont' hit as hard. - I came out of the bathroom one day to find Alex kneeling on the cat, bouncing. The cat was just lying there with eyes that said "See what I do to get fed in this house?" I told Alex off, pulled him off the cat and she just layed there, refusing to move. But then this cat is more of a dog, she comes to see Alex when he cries and will come up to him to say hello and they play together. I've never had a cat like her before, she's such a softy.
OP- I was thinking maybe try a play pen that you can move her too when she starts getting rough? I think I watched it on tv once and that way they removed the kids from the situation and they soon learnt hang on a sec if I do this I get removed. its just hard at this age cause I don't think they fully understand how much they can hurt someone. And gets tricky for you too dealing with newborn and toddler!
Meg- oh the poor thing, does she have like a gastro type bug? She keeping fluids down? Is the high temp causing the vomiting or the vomiting come first. Hope it all clears up soon, hard for us mummies too trying to get stuff done, I love my hip sling when they're like that.
Needles went ok, she got over crying pretty quick. We'll see in a weeks time how the reaction is.
My birthday today and DF is sick after dodgy chicken last night (lucky the rest of us ate proper home cooked meal!) so I've had to buy my own birthday card from the kids and bake my own cake. Ash is very cute her belief is you can't have a birthday without a party so I've had to decorate the lounge and play party games.
