Isn't it cool when they really interact? E has been chatting to J a lot lately. She really follows what he is doing. Hopefully she really loves him, as he adores her!
She woke up delightfully happy today. It was almost liek she was singing in her room.
tarkine- nice that you could get out into the garden for a bit.
Kaz - hope the babysitting went well.
Holly - I have replied to you on our other thread.
BBL.. gotta go do some wii fit while E is still alseep
-
Meg- ikwym, just recently Em has really started to notice Ash, always smiling at her watching what she is doing and I've also felt her trying to lean herself forward like she wants to jump over to her, I feel she wants to get moving now.
Tarkine- Oh thats so cute! Do you show A the mirror? Em loves it, sees herself and gets this huge smile then its like she gets shy and buries her head in my shoulder.
Kaz- How did the baby sitting go? Tire you out?
Holly- was it high or low 90's? Thats not too bad but dropping to 70% not sounding good at all. What is the plan next? Do you have a follow up appt? How much longer is he on the meds for?
I think the vapouriser is doing well, Em seemed not as bad last night and today, so hopefully we are over the worst, she still waking few times overnight but settling bit easier each time.
Mum looked after the girls today and Df and I had lovely lunch out and went and saw Bruno. Was very nice, I can count on one hand the times we've been out just us since we had Ash nearly 3 years ago!
-
Shell - Alex lays on the floor, looking at his reflection, then gets very excited and moves his arms and legs around, then chats to himself in the mirror.. its adorable! What did you think of Bruno?
-
Hi girls,
Just a quickie before bed.
Ashlyn has been really really grizzly after her needles yesterday. THis morning she woke up absolutely crying (never has done that before) and she woke so many times for a feed during the night the poor little sausage.
Been too tried to exercise tonight. :(
Will be back tomorrow to write more.
-
Ah Ali - I feel your pain darl. J hasn't been his usually happy chappy self lately either. It's tough. I hope it's out of her system soon and you get some sleep!
Tarkine - at your cat sitting on a rose bush!!!!! OUCH!
Meg - James sounds so cute!
Shell - That's awesome you went on a 'date' with your Df!! Whoohooo!! I think Jacob wants to be moving too. He's always moving his arms and legs whether he's lying down or being held or in bed - it's constant kicking/swimming movement!
AFM - Babysitting went well. He really is a very good little kid and we've known him since he was born. DP came home at 3:30 and took over the major entertaining - he's very good with kids. I do feel tired though and got a taste for what some of your lives are like with two kids! Jacob finally work up at 11:15am so I did make it to MG after all! Off to bed now. My sis is coming up for the weekend which will be nice. Hope you all have good nights girls! Hugs to all the bubbas.
-
hi girls
just a quickie
BE READY FOR THE 6 MONTH UNSETTLE TIME!
- feeding heaps
-little sleep
-growing pains
-change in wake/sleep times
bubs get really unsettled just before a developmental milestone and heaps happen around this time- so now i am waiting for them to all fall into place!!!
it was around 4.30am until boof was finally asleep for good- he was waking heaps to feed and unsettled- sore legs and body- stretching heaps. He is changing his whole natural routine again!
so get ready for it girls! Sorry to be the bearer of bad news- the last time this happened was just before boof turned 4 months old!
mwah
hang in there
-
 ali i hope miss ashlyn feels better today!!
kaz life with two is harder but not as hard as i thought i would be! i love oour age though!!
det 4am :o wow !!
shell glad the vaporiser is working!! hope the sniffles leave the house soon!!
tarkine millie loves the mirror too!!
meg sophie gets the biggest smiles from millie, its so cute!!
holly when do you get the oxygen results back?
ARM millie had a great night last night!! 7pm-6am fed then back til 7.30am! pity i didnt sleep well and have been awake since 5am with sore boobs
-
Finally!!! BB is working for me! I haven't been able to get in for 24hours :(
Det - oh no surely it can't get worse?? Miss J is not sleeping well at all. Arrgh speak of the devil - she's awake again!
-
nai weve had a few average days but she's making up for it today!
of course daddy is home
-
Once the colds get better I have to take her for her overdue 4mth needles so expecting more sleepless nights after that!
Tarkine- Yeah movie was pretty funny, I know it didn't get very good reviews but we had a lot of laughing thru it, be ready to see his penis too!
AJP- I wish Emily would go that long between feeds, she gets bit distracted in the day with her bottles then wants them at night or she won't go back to sleep!
Det- oh god don't tell me that! I'll just be getting over one thing and then that'll sneak up on us. Didn't notice so much with DD1 cause she had a whole bad 3-6mth period!
Ali- How did your night end up? I have heard these needles they upset them more, dreading getting them. Did panadol help?
Horrible weather today. Matt picking up FIL to bring him over to watch footy so we'll be doing that today, kicking back. So dark outside its miserable.
-
Shell - yeah the weather is pretty ordinary. We're just kicking back at home listening to the Triple J Hottest 100 of all time. DP and DD1 are making me an omlette at the moment.
Geez - every time I get on this thread Miss J wakes up! She must be psychic  I have changed her wooden cradle over for the portacot in the hope that it makes her sleep longer. I thought maybe she was banging her hands on the wooden bars of the cradle and it was waking her up. So we will see if my theory is correct *sigh* Maybe I'm clutching at straws...
-
Det - thanks for the heads up
Kaz - :D that you survived the baby sitting
Nai - yep they know when you get online - Alex is getting whingy.
AJP - always the way when bubs sleeps well.
Shell - hope there's some rain in the dark clouds.
-
Yes, the vax have really mucked her around. I feel like crap today. Doesnt help that DP is in a bad mood and whinging about everything and its rubbing off on me. I am having one of those days where I feel like I cant do anything right.
DP says sometimes I dont tell him about things but I do, it is obvious to me that he just doesnt listen sometimes.
I am tired and I do work around the house and look after Ash, sometimes it just feels like its not enough as he works 2 jobs. *sigh*
Sorry for the whinge.
-
Ali- do we have the same partner, I could've written that exact sentence myself about telling them something! I have whole convo's with Df and then the next day he'll turn around and say I didn't tell him! Drives me nuts I think I may as well talk to myslef.
-
Shell they need a kick up the behind. I dont know how many times I have told him things adn to be told that I didnt tell him just frustrates the crap out of him and I am just choosing now not to argue back. I hate fighting over stupid stuff and sometimes its just easier to let it go. Bloody men! to you and me!
-
Mine is the same. I can tell him stuff and he forgets 10 mins later. i think he is more interested in the TV!
-
Wow so much to catch up on!!!!
I've read it all but will be back later to do personals...
Meg- I hear you about the TV my DH is so preoccupied with it I have to repeat myself at least 3 times before i get a response.
We had a good time away, just nipped down to our family onsite van, was so great to get out of the four walls.
L slept well and we went for nice long walks along the beach collecting shells & building sand castles, weather today was average so came home early...
MIL just invited us for dinner tomorrow, going to sound like a cow but about time!!!
-
Ali - oh hun!
Shell - oh sweetie
Pinny - sounds great getting out of the house!
There always seems to be one of our husbands/partners who is playing up.
AFM - put Alex in the sling, first time. He wasn't sure but he was just starting to fall asleep and I had to take it off. Will take him down the shops in it tomorrow maybe. Still nothing on the job front for DH, his internet business has slowed to zero, so the only income we have is the fortnightly baby bonus payments - life just keeps on getting better..
-
You know one thng I do to Df sometimes if I am telling him something important is make him repeat what I've just said. Lol. he hates it but it proves he only half listens so I make him sit thru listening again and tell him he should've paid attention the first time!
Tarkine- I hope he finds a job soon, thats not very much to live on. Have you any savings or anything? Such a worry this economy I am just so thankful Df and I are in jobs that will never go redundant (him teacher and me nurse) Have you family that can help financially if things get really tough?
Pinny- That sounds nice, Ash adores the beach, whenever she sees it she talks about our trip to Phillip Island last summer.
On a downside FIL looked terrible yesterday I actually got a bit of a shock, don't think he has much longer to go, Df and his bro had to carry him in from the car, he can't walk, he slept most of the time he was here, his clothes just hanging off him his face gaunt, I thought he looked bit yellow too, so sad. I always think how cancer is a terrible way to go. Plus I'd hate to think peoples last memories are going to be of someone looking awfully ill. I'm just glad he isn't in pain. And Ash is just all funny around him now, like she doesn't know what to do with him, she won't really go near him or give him kisses or cuddles anymore unless we take her and push it a bit, its sad cause she adored him.
-
can someone please tell millie 30mins isnt a sleep ...grrrrrr!
shell sorry to hear about FIL :( must be tough on you all. Go bombers!
BBL going to do the food shopping
-
Shell - sorry that he is looking so unwell, but like yo usaid he isn't in pain.
Tarkine- I hope things pick up for you soon.
AJP - E jsut did a 30 min sleep, and started whinging. I ignored her, and I *think* she has gone back to sleep. Not game to go check as it might get her started. I speak too soon. I can hear her now. I tell DH to keep the nosice dawn as she is resettling, as he has clomped around, slammed doors and dropped something.
Last night E woke at 2am. I ignored her, and she started signing in her room. She must have falled back asleep as I didn't hear from her again till 6am. Quick feed and back to bed till 8:30am.
I am sick. I think e is too. She has done about 4 poos today, and has chucked after every feed. I have a splitting headache, for more than 12 hours now. i also fell asleep on the couch this morning. Unheard of for me.
-
Meg- It sucks being sick, we are still getting over everything here. I think Df is looking forward to going back to work tomor, his 2 weeks holiday just been us all unwell. Get onto panadol before headache turns worse.
AJP- Yeah they were very happy with Bombers great win, Df didn't even tip his own team!
-
Girls, I think all our dp's are the same re listening and repeating things! Lol shell, I always get dp to repeat things too and guess what...he always gets it wrong  Sorry to hear about your fil :( And regarding L's monitor the other night, while I was awake it was mostly in high 90's but I did wake up to see it change to 70 for a bit, but who knows what it was like when I was sleeping. Not sure when I hear back from the hospital.
Det, L has been like you described all his life!! LOL. He's not even 5 months yet and for the past 2 days he's been sooo so grizzly, restless, won't sleep, wants boobie 24/7 and I just don't know what to do with him. He is on me right now! I am running out of things to do with him. This morning I just wanted to eat breakfast and go to the loo! I had to stick him in the pram grizzling and wheel him around with me.
Kaz, glad the babysitting went well. Enjoy the time with your sister.
AJP, I so hear you with the 30min cat naps! In fact, L has been doing 15min naps the past 2 days and it's killing me. Just when I think I can get something done and he starts crying! Hope Millie does some more nights like the other night!
Nai, lol at clutching at straws! Did it work??
Ali, hope you're having a better day today  Men are so thoughtless at the best of times, it's no good when you're stressed and tired!
Tarkine, glad you could get stuff done when mil was around, lol at your cat! My cat loves to sit on my books and papers when I'm trying to study - attention seeking perhaps?? So cute about Alex and the other baby interracting!
Eek Megie  Hope you're feeling better. Sounds like E has gastro or something? Poor thing :( Hope it's short lived and you can get a good night tonight.
Pinny, glad you had a good time away. Enjoy not cooking tonight!
Hi to everyone else!
AFM, as mentioned before, having a rough time with L. Just when I thought his sleeps were getting better, it seems like he's going through a growth spurt or something... wants boobie ALL THE TIME, although I'm sure it's more for the comfort than the milk. He is so irritable and is finding it hard to stay asleep. Lucky to get half an hour out of him before he wakes. Even now, he's in my arms and he's wriggling about. Just wish he could get a sound sleep :( Anyway, they say growth spurts only last 48hours, so in that case, tonight should be better if it even is a growth spurt!
Catch up soon xox
Eta...omgoodness, I had a really bad dream last night that someone I know found me here on bb (a friend of dp's) and he started stalking me and telling dp everything that I posted on here! LOL anyway, thought I'd share... I used to have L's full name in my sig, but realised when it's googled it comes up with all my posts so I took it out and also, dp's mum told me a while ago she googled L's name to see if it was the name of anyone famous...I was like :o
-
Shell - sorry to hear about your FIL.. cancer is cruel for all concerned.
meg - sorry to hear ur not well
Holly - I hate bad dreams - I often wake up in crappy moods when I've had a bad one. I had a dream the other night where it didn't make any sense but I felt all the emotions in the dream - bizarre!
AFM - well shell - I don't know what's going to happen.. in the past I've been the one who has ran out and got a job at the drop of a hat to get money through the door (I once worked full time and studied full time for a whole semester - and I was exhausted at the end of it).. but this time I'm not going to go back to work - DH has to sort himself out and take responsiblity for a change. I wouldn't ask the family for help - MIL has already helped us out in the past. gotta go.. A is upset.
-
nighty night chickies!!
be back in the morning!!!
-
OMG, I just googled my children's names as I used to have them listed next to their dates of birth and they came up!!! ARRRHHHH scary stuff!!!! but when I do it seperately it doesn't....so I gues that something....I had to use first and second names too...
Shell- It must be so hard for you & your family....Cancer is so cruel..
Tarkine- Good luck with the job hunting for your DH,I hope something comes up ASAP
Meg- Try & rest I know it can seem impossible but I hope you get better soon.
Holly- No good about L sleeps, it's so hard when they catnap, they are so determined sometimes but they don't realise mummy's know best!!! Sleep Vibes to you..
AJP- Hope Millie had a better afternoon and decided to sleep for you!!! 30 mins not good!!!
Going to bed will catch up with everyone tomorrow!!!
-
Hi everyone - sorry I've been MIA but seriously EVERY time I jump on here Miss J wakes up! She has been just awful sleep-wise the last few days. She seems to have a cold and the poor little thing tries to suck her thumb but can't breath so wakes up crying. It's so sad :( She was awake crying until 10pm last night when I decided enough was enough and she co-slept next to me all night so at least we got some sleep. She's not taking to the portacot as well as I had hoped but it has only been 2 days...
Shell - I'm sorry to hear your FIL is not good. Hopefully he remains pain-free.
Meg - How are you all feeling? Hope you are better!
Tarkine - I hope something comes up for DP soon! Maybe he needs to branch out and take a job wherever he can get it even if it's not in his field of specialty. I remember DP counting people on trains for Dept of Infrastructure once when he was between jobs - not the most scintillating work but it brought in some money.
Jols - I hope Millie is sleeping a bit better for you!
Ali - I hope you have a better day today and that DP cleans his ears out and listens a bit better (I can smack him on the back of the head to loosen the earwax for you if you like ;) )
Holly - I hope Leon is more settled. How are his oxygen levels going?
-
I still feel ROTTEN and to make matters worse, J was up for about 2.5 hours last night, petrified that there was bees in his room. His eyes were darting around and he was looking for the bees. The n he howled every time we left the room. He finally went to sleep around 3 and E woke at 3:30 for a quick feed. They both got up at 7am.
E had her jabs this morning. She didn't even cry!
I amd soooooo tired today.
-
Nai- I hope J settles in her porta cot soon, we took ours away with us & L didn't do his normal long day sleeps either, maybe just have to get use to more space!!
Meg- Sorry to hear your stil not feeling well, can someone take your DS this afternoon for you so you can have a nap????Hope E goes ok with the needles..
-
PM - I was thinking that she would be happier with more space but you are right she may need time to get used to the extra space. She has been asleep for an hour now so that's a good start!
-
pinny she had crap sleeps all yesterday, but is great overnight now, only one feed, she had 45 mins this morning so thats already better than yesterday! i emailed you some pics too!
nai maybe its the feel of the mattress or something :dunno: hope she sleeps well today!
meg sounds like a bad night  hope you can rest today.
-
nai - did she sleep well when she co slept?
AJP - glad Millie is doing well overnight.
OK - who here does a dreamfeed? I have tried it for the past 4 nights, and honestly I don't think it makes a difference. She still wakes at about 3am for a quick feed.
Just gonna lie on the couch today with the laptop. Too tired to do anything. J will ahve to be amused my palyhouse Disney.
-
OMG :o i just had millie weighed, she put on 740g in 4 weeks :o she now weighs 6.97kg
the nurse was a little shocked!! said my supply must be fantastic!!
meg i never bothered with the dreamfeed and now were down to one feed overnight im happy!
-
AJP- Fantastic effort on M's weight gain....Full cream milk in those boobies:p
We have the opposite here L is fantsatic a day sleeps not so good over night still wkes twice!! at least... He has just woken from a 2 hr 45 min sleep...Good boy..
Meg- I tend to agree with you, I don't think the dream feed makes any difference, I have tried them a couple of times but does not seem to work here!!!
Be back later the little man is awake...
-
Meg - she woke a few times during the night for a feed/comfort. I think her nose is blocked and she may have a sore throat if she has the same thing that I had the other week and DD1 has had for the past 2 weeks.
-
Kaz- I seem to be having the same probs that you were with J after the vax. I just dont know what has happened... Hope things are improving for you guys
Thanks girls for all of your support. :grouphug: It has meant alot. Things just seem to have been upheaved here and I am feeling a little ovewhelmed. And really I shouldnt be. I feel like my stress might be rubbing off on Ash.
Sleep at night has deteriated (sp?) the last 3 nights. We are sleeping from 7 until 10 and then we are waking every 2hours up until 7:30 to feed. Cant settle her any other way. She is back in bed with me now as well from about 10pm as I am just so tired.
Holly I keep thinking of you and thinking I really shouldnt complain. In fact each time I am up at night, I have been thinking I am sure Holly is probably awake now as well.
Then today I went to lunch with a gf at a cafe and this little boy probably about 4 came over and was looking at DD and then all of a sudden he hit her in the face :o WTF! The grandma was so apolgetic but I was in shock. I wanted to yell at this kid but I was so shocked I was speechless. I mean he was 4 not to 2 or 3, its like he was this nice child and then all of a sudden hit her in the face. The grandma was very overwhelmed as well. I still cant get over it.
Anyway we are off to Canberra tomorrow for DP's uncle's funeral so will be back on Wednesday.
Tarkine- I hope your DH fnds a job. Stick to your guns hun, you are already working fulltime with A, you dont need to add anything more on yor plate. The job situation in this country is ****ed though. My poor stepdad got made redundant and has been out of work since DD was born and he goes for so many interviews but there is so much competition out there. Why is it that bad things happen to good people???
Jols- awesome weight gain on M!!!
Nai- You poor thing. Your fam has had so many bugs that are going around. Hope Miss J gets back to sleeping well.
Pinny & Shell- how is the n dummy thing going?? My hat goes off to you girls.
OP- How is Miss I going on solids. That is great she is loving it. DD is so interested in food I am thinking of trying her on something.
Megie- We never did the dreamfeed as DD would still wake a few hours later but now she is waking at 10 anyway so :dunno:
Det- How was the hols with the twins home? Is your DH a small business owner? Ine is and I have no idea what to do about this tax thing this year as I have heard we now need to do it together for FTB but he doesnt get a group cert so not sure what I am supposed to do. I am so dumb when it comes to paperwork. You sound good at it.
I cant remember what else. There was more that I was thinking f writing whilst typing this but I have forgotten! Sorry its been a bit long and disjointed!
-
Hi ladies, still here, just having a rough time with DD. We're trying to get rid of the dummy and I am questioning whether it is even worth it... she has been screaming pretty much all day today and we've been rocking her to sleep.
Is that better?
Who knows.
-
Hi Girls :grouphug:.
Just popping in to give you all a
-
OP- Its hard isn't it. I wish I had words of advice I think some babies just go better than others once its gone. Does she scream for long? Emily carried on for maybe 30mins then went off to sleep I would sit next to her and pat her roll her on her side and rock her or pat her back. I hope it improves for you. I have found she sleeps so much better now, actually having a longer sleep in the day and sleeping 5hrs at night between feeds.
Ali- Thats terrible about that boy, I'm glad the grandma was apologetic. Its terrible tho, I get nervous with other kids around Emily, they just so impulsive you don't know what they gonna do. I hope you start getting better night sleeps. I wish I had some great advice, will she not take the dummy? Just wanting booby?
AJP- Great weight gain!
Meg- we used to do dreamfeed for ages at 10-10:30 each night which helped a little depending on how much she took, but not long after we got rid of the dummy she started refusing the feeds. So don't bother now. She goes from 7pm til 1am then til 6:30-7:00ish. Considering at 6 months I was still getting up 3hrly with Ashleigh feeding once a night is a dream!
How you feeling by the way?
Nai- poor Miss J. How is she going? Maybe give her some panadol at bedtime help her settle if she isn't feeling well. Do you have a vapouriser? I got talked into getting one and worked well.
Tarkine- well I hope he does sort things out and gets work, hope he is not expecting you to rush out if its normally you that picks up the pieces. Could he just get soemthing temporary even if its not something he is interested in just til he finds the right job? I worry for you living on that does it even cover rent?
Holly- I look forward to the day when L is sleeping perfectly for you. I know one day it WILL come, just keep telling yourself that, once his breathing is all sorted you can concentrate on the sleep issues.
Emily had a moody morning, grizzly grumpy, finally had good sleep this arvo and was alot better mood. Df back to work today so I can get back into my routine.
-
Back now.. Alex is down for a few hours...
Ali - that is shocking that the 4 year old came up and hit Ash... I get ropable when I see kids playing games in the supermarket (one kid was kicking a soccer ball in the middle of Coles!! I mean what on earth are these kids going to be like when they are teenages?)
Shell - I don't know what's going to happen with us.. We have some money in our mortgage.. I'm NOT rushing back to work - its DH turn to do what I've done when he's been sick in the past and I've dropped everything and worked in some really terrible workplaces... but knowing him he'd redraw all the cash off the mortgage and maybe then do something about getting a job...
AFM - nothing happy to say, so I'm not going to say anything :D
