Kaz - I'm reading the Dali Lama biography, just finished the first two books in the Sookie Stackhouse series (trueblood TV show), Jane Eyre and My sister's keeper (which I'm having trouble getting into). I have books all over the place and pick them up with A is going on one of his sleeping sessions... I'm also writing a book myself, which is keeping my mind occupied.
Shell - put me down for whacking DF over the ears.
meg - 3.45? I might give it a go if i remember.
Ali - that high chair sounds great - we were looking for one that is compact (we don't have any space in our place) - maybe getting one of those that clips onto a table.. dunno.
AFM - just court stuff.. don't want to go into it on an open forum.. lets just say I'm mad beyond belief at the moment. My attitude at teh moment is fight her until there is nothing left in the estate - then she can half of 50 cents!!

hi girls- boof just got to zzz and i am buggered so no time for personal
day sleeps are 2 x 45 mins all day everyday here and then he naps from 7ish till he finally crashes for the night between 10pm-12am! so he is doing the 3 1/2 hours in between his naps anyway - just doesnt need alot of sleep during the day- he is happy enough awake and as soon as he shows a tired sign he snuggles in and falls straight to sleep- he is the easiest baby to get to sleep but a bugger keeping him asleep!
by the time i did my jobs last nite it was 2am again b4 i got to sleep grrr
off to the rollerskating tommorow with the kids- going to the 10am session so up and out early -great!
Tarkine hun. Court is never a nice experience, unfortunately I know too well.
Shell how did the vapouriser go? I've been saying for ages I need to get one lol. Sounds like Emily might be teething!
Megie, I might try the 3h45min up thing! Not today though, I've already stuffed it. L woke up at 8:20am and went down for a nap at 10:00am (still sleeping phew!).
Ali lol at squeezing the whole family into bed! Poor Ash, hope she's recovered from her jabs. I was at Kmart the other day and saw those mesh things you put food into and bubs can suck on it...heard they are really good and am going back to get some. I think I'll get a sippy cup too and just bypass the bottles. Good buy with the high chair!
Lol Nai! Are you a regular lotto player? I played once just last week but of course it wasn't meant to be...so that's it for me, not playing anymore!!
Pinny, have a good time away!
Sorry, can't see any further back so hi everyone else!
AFM, L is starting to have more sleep in the days though, however they range from 30mins to an hour and a half and he'll have about 3 of them a day. I'm happy with that! At night, not so good. If we're lucky he will sleep a solid 2 hours but more often than not he just does the small sleeps and wakes for feeds very often like he does during the day.
Last night a nurse from the RCH came by to drop off a breathing/oxygen monitor and explained to us how to hook it up to L. We used it last night and recorded the oxygen levels in his blood while he slept. The hospital will get a pretty inaccurate reading because a)He didn't sleep much, b) I fell asleep feeding him and not sure for how long (oops!) - he was unhooked from the monitor when I changed and fed him...and c) his breathing is a lot better when he's lying on a particular side, and he was lying that side the whole night (I couldn't bear a sleepless night and watch him struggle on his other side, even though it probably would have made the doctors realise how much of a problem it can be). So anyway, don't know what happens now, the courier picked the monitor up this morning, so I guess I just wait? They will probably be wondering what I am complaining about! The monitor showed how "optimal" his breathing was by using a percentage and it was in the 90's most of the night, it did drop down to 70% but not much.
Anyway, better go get stuff done while he's sleeping.
Well done Meg with the day sleeps but 3hrs 45mins Although, that is what Jacob is doing in the evenings now - staying awake 3-4 hours and he has slept better at night since he's done that.
Tarkine - Sounds like you have every right to be so annoyed darl. Hope you can distract yourself. What's your book about?
Ali - Hope Ash is ok with the shots! Whoohoo on the cheap high chair.
Holly - I'm sure they won't think you're making it up darl. I really hope it leads to solving Leon's breathing problems.
Nai - LOL at Lotto!!
Shell - You sound like you're doing much better mate. It's good to hear.
AFM - I have been waiting since 9:45am for Jacob to wake up so I can go to mothers group!! I really don't want to wake him because I'm looking after a friends 4 year old this afternoon so he might not get much more sleep but now I'm missing out on some much needed socialising He had an awesome night last night - awake until about 11pm but then slept til 3:15am then til 8:15am and now still asleep!!!!
Holly - ain't it always the way - you get the machine and then bubs doesn't do what bubs is supposed to, for monitoring.
kaz - How's the 4 yr old babysitting going? Fantastic sleep Mr J! I hear you with the waking up to go to mum's group. book is a crazy ass thing that I'm writing to keep entertained, kinda romance mixed with supernatural, dash of history and plenty of ridiculous .. Love your saying in your signature
AFM- forgot to mention that we went back to the mums group on wednesday (have to wait next term for the other group) and Alex had his first real interaction with another baby - they stared at each other and the other baby (4 weeks older than Alex) was chatting away. MIl came over yesterday and I managed to get into the garden for 30 minutes, pruned all but one of my roses - one of our cats decided to sit on one of the bushes while I was pulling out weeds crazy cat!
Isn't it cool when they really interact? E has been chatting to J a lot lately. She really follows what he is doing. Hopefully she really loves him, as he adores her!
She woke up delightfully happy today. It was almost liek she was singing in her room.
tarkine- nice that you could get out into the garden for a bit.
Kaz - hope the babysitting went well.
Holly - I have replied to you on our other thread.
BBL.. gotta go do some wii fit while E is still alseep
Meg- ikwym, just recently Em has really started to notice Ash, always smiling at her watching what she is doing and I've also felt her trying to lean herself forward like she wants to jump over to her, I feel she wants to get moving now.
Tarkine- Oh thats so cute! Do you show A the mirror? Em loves it, sees herself and gets this huge smile then its like she gets shy and buries her head in my shoulder.
Kaz- How did the baby sitting go? Tire you out?
Holly- was it high or low 90's? Thats not too bad but dropping to 70% not sounding good at all. What is the plan next? Do you have a follow up appt? How much longer is he on the meds for?
I think the vapouriser is doing well, Em seemed not as bad last night and today, so hopefully we are over the worst, she still waking few times overnight but settling bit easier each time.
Mum looked after the girls today and Df and I had lovely lunch out and went and saw Bruno. Was very nice, I can count on one hand the times we've been out just us since we had Ash nearly 3 years ago!
Shell - Alex lays on the floor, looking at his reflection, then gets very excited and moves his arms and legs around, then chats to himself in the mirror.. its adorable! What did you think of Bruno?
Ashlyn has been really really grizzly after her needles yesterday. THis morning she woke up absolutely crying (never has done that before) and she woke so many times for a feed during the night the poor little sausage.
Ah Ali - I feel your pain darl. J hasn't been his usually happy chappy self lately either. It's tough. I hope it's out of her system soon and you get some sleep!
Tarkine - at your cat sitting on a rose bush!!!!! OUCH!
Meg - James sounds so cute!
Shell - That's awesome you went on a 'date' with your Df!! Whoohooo!! I think Jacob wants to be moving too. He's always moving his arms and legs whether he's lying down or being held or in bed - it's constant kicking/swimming movement!
AFM - Babysitting went well. He really is a very good little kid and we've known him since he was born. DP came home at 3:30 and took over the major entertaining - he's very good with kids. I do feel tired though and got a taste for what some of your lives are like with two kids! Jacob finally work up at 11:15am so I did make it to MG after all! Off to bed now. My sis is coming up for the weekend which will be nice. Hope you all have good nights girls! Hugs to all the bubbas.
hi girls
just a quickie
BE READY FOR THE 6 MONTH UNSETTLE TIME!
- feeding heaps
-little sleep
-growing pains
-change in wake/sleep times
bubs get really unsettled just before a developmental milestone and heaps happen around this time- so now i am waiting for them to all fall into place!!!
it was around 4.30am until boof was finally asleep for good- he was waking heaps to feed and unsettled- sore legs and body- stretching heaps. He is changing his whole natural routine again!
so get ready for it girls! Sorry to be the bearer of bad news- the last time this happened was just before boof turned 4 months old!
Once the colds get better I have to take her for her overdue 4mth needles so expecting more sleepless nights after that!
Tarkine- Yeah movie was pretty funny, I know it didn't get very good reviews but we had a lot of laughing thru it, be ready to see his penis too!
AJP- I wish Emily would go that long between feeds, she gets bit distracted in the day with her bottles then wants them at night or she won't go back to sleep!
Det- oh god don't tell me that! I'll just be getting over one thing and then that'll sneak up on us. Didn't notice so much with DD1 cause she had a whole bad 3-6mth period!
Ali- How did your night end up? I have heard these needles they upset them more, dreading getting them. Did panadol help?
Horrible weather today. Matt picking up FIL to bring him over to watch footy so we'll be doing that today, kicking back. So dark outside its miserable.
Shell - yeah the weather is pretty ordinary. We're just kicking back at home listening to the Triple J Hottest 100 of all time. DP and DD1 are making me an omlette at the moment.
Geez - every time I get on this thread Miss J wakes up! She must be psychic I have changed her wooden cradle over for the portacot in the hope that it makes her sleep longer. I thought maybe she was banging her hands on the wooden bars of the cradle and it was waking her up. So we will see if my theory is correct *sigh* Maybe I'm clutching at straws...
Det - thanks for the heads up
Kaz - that you survived the baby sitting
Nai - yep they know when you get online - Alex is getting whingy.
AJP - always the way when bubs sleeps well.
Shell - hope there's some rain in the dark clouds.
