Jols - like the new name. I didn't know who it was at first I hope everyone is on the mend!!

We have been very busy lately - it's silly season early! Yesterday we went to the MHCN for Miss J's 8m check up. She's 7.9kg and 69cm so all average. The only thing she did say is that she isn't "babbling" enough in saying things like "mummum, dada, baba" etc so she wanted to refer her to an audiologist to get her hearing checked We were a bit hesitant as she is making lots of noise and sounds and can clearly hear as she wakes up if DD1 coughs during the night Maybe we should have got it just to rule anything out.

Last night was awful as I was up every couple of hours with Miss J crying and wanting feeds and then DD1 wet the bed - so I'm tired and cranky today! Early night for me tonight I think.

Yeah she passed the hospital test just fine. She makes noise and sounds just not the "right" ones apparently.

I forgot to add she has just started waving - it is so cute. It sounds like she is saying "hi" when she does it too.

Hey Jols - New user name! Nice. I am going ot change mine too. Thinking of changing it to Lilima as that is what J calls E.

Nai - E says mum, bub, ga, dad, but she can't wave, doesn't crawl..... So I think it is a bit of an over reaction. Hopefully everyone sleeps better in your house tonight.
Yeah - they never told us about the railway works. THe only reason I know that it wil lbe going on the rest of this week and possibly next is that I called Vline and complained about the lack of communication. Honestly all night you hear "beep, beep" as the trucks reverse, then "CRASH" as they dump a load. At one stage they were hammering, and i incorporated it into a dream and thought someone was knocking on the front door!

Jols - Poor little pet with an ear infection. I hope it improves soon,.

Doesn't it feel like winter here again in good old Melbs!

Olive, love the new name. Sorry to hear you're unwell. It so sucks big time. Hope you're getting some rest this afternoon.
Meg - Gggrrr at train work near your house! DP used to live near trainlines (industry ones) and they were heaps noisy with squealing brakes etc at all hours so I know what you're going through. Can you talk your DH into going away for a few days?
Holly - whoot on getting your uni assignments done!
Nai - I think if you're not worried about J's hearing then it's fine. Honestly, they want all the kids they see to fit into the textbook and that is so unrealistic. If she's making noises and 'talking' she's doing great. There's an 8mth old in my mums group IRL who never makes a sound. I'd be more worried about that personally. J says adadad, adee, dididi, blahblahblah. A whole range and it changes every day it seems. I have heard mum but not for a long time

    to everyone else!

AFM - I am finally starting to feel a bit human again although my cough for the first hour I'm up would wake the dead After whinging in here the other day about J not sleeping much during the day he's breaking records now!! Yesterday we had a 3 hour morning sleep (then three more 40mins naps) today we've had a 2 hour sleep and he's now been down another 2.5hours again. Can't believe it. It's so random, I have no idea what is different about the past 2 days. I should have got heaps more done but I kept expecting him to wake up so I've wasted the time

Olive- love the name change! Hope your feeling better, glad Dh remembered your birthday in the end...i bet you would eb crabby as for your brother..that's not on..See u tomorrow

Kaz- glad ur finally feeling better, yay on the day sleeps

Nai- I wouldn't worry too much about the hearing especially as u had her heaing checked in hosptial..Lewis doesn't make the typical mum dad sounds but has heaps others...I'm waiting for his check up so he has more time to "achieve" their goals..Go with you mummy instinct..

Meg- will loke out for the new name- so cute with DS saying DD name like that

We have had a super busy weekend and week was DD 4th birthday yesterday so spending today recovering from all the excitement!! Lewis slept so crap last night, but it was a bad night out of 4 ok ones so I shoudn't not try to complain too much

I'm loving the weather here atm.
Ok going to sound dumb but I have only got Olive on facebook, how do I add anyone else..sounds like you guys chat in there too.

Nai- I didn't realise there was right noises they are meant to make, Em mainly says mmm and sometimes sounds like mum but thats cauyse she always whinging for me, otherwise she growls or yells or does ba ba.
Is miss J unwell or anything or just decided to have bad night?

Pinny- I've PM'd you who I am so you can add me on FB. Happy Birthday to your daughter! Enjoy her party.

Kaz- yay on day sleeps! I've given up trying to work out whats different, they seem to wait til your used to something and then change just to keep you guessing! Did you end up seeing that independant midwife with your hospital notes?

Meg- oh god that would really pee me off! How is J and his behaviour going? Do you think it is coinciding with when he gets unwell?

Olive- Happy birthday for the other day! Whats the meaning with Olive? Poor Millie, can't believe another ear infection poor bubba, is she starting to feel better now its being treated?

I'm still getting driven nuts by Emily's being so attached to me, hopefully she will be over it soon.

Pinny - I'll pm you my name so you can find me in fb!

Shell - yup. Saw the indep. mw a few weeks back. She put a completely different slant on things and I got answers to all my questions (as much as you can answer some of them). So I feel better in some ways and worse now in others because it confirmed what I suspected about some bad decisions I made when in labour that didn't seem bad at the time..... I'm just kind of sitting with it all at the moment and not ruminating too much. I think (with hindsight) better advice from my caregivers when I was in labour could have possibly avoided the c-section. mw said "they did the right thing" in that, they needed to section me to avoid being sued if anything had gone wrong. So in a legal sense they did the right thing. Apparently what came after was just bad luck and couldn't have been predicted - they managed things according to standard protocols and it still went pear shaped. At least I don't feel like I'm wondering any more, I kind of "know" if that makes sense. Just got to reconcile that "knowing" now and forgive myself for the outcome.

Pinny - I'll PM you too

Shell - apparently there are "right" noises according to the MHCN but today she started saying "papa, lala and baba" so she's just a few days behind in her development The sleep issue is because the girls are sharing the same room and DD1 keeps whinging and waking her up GRRR!

Kaz - sometimes the knowing helps stop the "why" but it can still be hard to accept - be kind to yourself

Kaz- I hope now with getting all that knowledge you are able to get some closure. Don't be hard on yourself or blame yourself for decisions made. You did what needed to be done at that time. Hindsight is a wonderful thing tho.

Kaz- we are all here for you hun. You did everything you could and planned so well. Please be kind to yourself. I know things didnt go how you planned and it cant be changed now but please dont think that you did anything wrong. Lots of love and support for you hun.
Nai- DD doesnt say any "words" either but I know she has good hearing. She can hear me in another room. My mum told me I didnt really speak until I was 2 because I had an older sister who did all the talking for me and I could never get a word in! I cant believe the MCHN would make you stress like that.
Pinny- You might have to PM me your name as I think my profile you can not search for. If you PM me your name I will add you.
Shell- We have this attatchment phase going on here too. Its so tiring! Let me know when Emily finishes it so that I will know I dont have much more of it to go.
Heaven- The video of Grace crawling is so cute! She is so clever! Did it take her long to work it out? We are doing the rocking things here up on the knees and weight on the hands and we sometimes move backwards and she can shuffle around to turn 180 degrees so I am thinking its not far away!
Ellie- Hows number 2 baking? I hope that MS is getting better. I meant to ask you, have you told family and friends yet?
Meggie- Hope all that noise stops soon and you guys get some sleep. Sounds awful!
Olive- How are you and Millie going? Been thinking of you guys.

I cant see any further back but hi to everyone else.

AFM- I am still sick! Am now nearing the end of the 4th week of being sick. I am fine during the day but when night comes and first thing in the morning it hurts so much to swallow. I really should go to the doctors but I dont want to take antibiotics. They stuff my body around way too much. Ash is okay, but I am worried about re-infecting her again!

We still dont have any teeth here! Kind of enjoying it as hen she smiles she still looks so little with that gummy smile!

I might be a bit quiet over the next few weeks in the forums as I am going to have to start writing school reports and marking lots of assessments for the kids. I will be lurking though and try to post when I have time.

Kaz - I hear you with the decisions that were good at the time, but now seem bad. You know hun you did the right thing at the right time, even though the outcome wasn't what you thought it would be. It is so daunting to know what is the 'right' decision, particularly with medical personal all standing around going "Well you could do x or do y or do z" and when all you can think about is "I want my baby in my arms safely" its hard to logically progress through each option.

In hindsight, I would have done a lot of things differently... but then different decisions may lead to different outcomes, or they may just have lead to the same thing happening but just as a result of a different path...

I like to think that these things that happen to us, are sent to test us or are sent as lessons for us to learn, to resolve something in our past, something we needed to address or remedy - like karma and other buddist philosophies... I'll go back to my corner now.. I'm getting a little too way out there even for me!

Ali - sorry to hear that you're not well.. you should go to the dr... I wonder what it is at night that gives you that reaction... could it be like a food allergy? I know there is a lot of hayfever here at the moment.

Gotta go, got a whingy clingy baby... sigh...
