Kaz hun :hug: i dont resettle during the day either i just get her up, sometimes i leave her for say 15 mins if shes happy, very rarely she'll go back to sleep but i give her the chance too, over night DH just shhhh's her, she woke last night at 4.45am i fed her one side and she went back til 7.45

Kaz - :hug: :hug: :hug: oh sweetie I hope that J settles down soon. I looked at the woers nderweeks book and between 32 and 37 weeks they are getting ready for their next developmental leap, so they are poor clingy, cries more often and is frequently bad tempered and cranky. According to the book as bubs approaches 37 weeks they will start to calm down. In regards to cutting out feeds etc, I would just keep going with what J wants.. he's still a small baby.. I have gone back to settling A onthe boob for hte moment, its just not worth the tears (on my side).

Thanks girls. I will just keep at it. Overnight is usually ok cause I just feed and he goes back down. I was thinking the grumpy stuff might be a wonder week thing but I hadn't looked it up yet. He's only 30+2 weeks but was a week and a half late so is approaching 32 weeks according to how they work it out from conception. This afternoon he just won't let me put him down. He's never done this before. Happy in my lap arms but not in the same room. How do you get anything done? He's knocked my keyboard too and now all the fonts on bb are tiny :lol:

Hi ladies
I don't resettle during the day either...just get her up and try again later. We've been really lucky with night sleep...A will wake up and talk/sing to herself and wait to see if we get up...when we don't she does this BIG 'sigh' and goes back to sleep...funny...but she knows it's different in the morning because Dh alarm goes off and she knows the drill from there...a real little routine freak!
Today has been a long one... A fell asleep on the boob at lunch and has been clingy and all out of sorts this arvo...thank goodness Hi5 is on and she's dancing around in her activity centre thingy while I have a rest on the lounge with my bucket...only 3 hours till bed...I feel so bad for counting down...but I'm wrecked!!!

We took the girls swimming yesterday and Juliette had her first lesson - she LOVED it! She was kicking and splashing and laughing the whole time. The teacher asked if she ever stopped smiling. I don't think we will have any problems with getting her to go in the water :D
Then we went and finally got our tax done - woohoo! We get some back this year - yay, the benefits of only working half a year. After that we went and saw Blooming Roses in hospital with baby Seth. Laura (Rainbow Raver) came in too so it was lovely to see her again.
Is anyone going to the baby expo in Melb next weekend? I am going on Friday if anyone wants to catch up xxx
Ellie- can you get something for it, maxalon maybe? That'd be so hard.
Kaz- I think too around this time they can get bit seperation anxiety, Em gets so upset sometimes if I walk away from her, crawls after me crying to be picked up then is happy as. Hope weekend going well with yr parents. They like to feel helpful don't they but sometimes you don't want the advice! Just do what works for you and what you feel comfortable in doing.
Holly- just go with the flow, Ash was never a big eater for awhile. Can't remember when she got more into it.
Went out yesterday to the casino with my mum (and won!) then saw 'couples retreat' so nice day out. And Df said he had lovely day with the girls so worked out well.
Now Em is crawling everywhere makes me see how dirty floors are! Df just mopped yesterday yet she still has dirt marks over her top!

Nai- I'm thinking of going not overally sure bout 2 kids and the crowds tho. After 3 years, Ash had her first swimming lesson yesterday, saw your pics on FB of J's so cute!
Shell - I'm dragging the 2 girls along eeek! I think there's a show at 11am so that will keep DD1 amused for a bit.
Nai - I am going. I am taking the two kids along, as well as my sis and her 7 week old and I think my mum is gonna come along as well. Just make sure you printfor free tix off the net.
Shell - Great that Em is rawling. E isn't. Not interested whatsoever. She likes to roll around to get things.
Malyna - Not into the nascar's here. But I am sure J would like to watch it if he knew it was on.
J and E were both up is in the early hours of the morning. E woke for a feed at 5 then she sooked when I put her back down, waking J up. He then got upset. E went back to sleep and I put J in with me. He tossed and turned, but went back to sleep around 6 till 8:30. E woke again at 8am. Not too bad in the scheme of things. I can handle 5am as long as it is not every single day. I did manage to catch another 2 hours from 6am to 8am. So I really was only up an hour at 5am.
Just popping in to say we made it through the christening!!!!
Ashlyn was so overwhelmed but all my family go ton apart form my two sisters having a massive fight before hand and avoiding each other, it was fine. I have my little sister staying with me now as she didnt want to stay with our older sister and just got Ashlyn to bed!
Have already had some panadol but feels good that it went well and is done! :)

Ali- Glad everything turned out well, did you find a good godfather after the other one couldn't make it? I need to organise Emily's at some stage, might wait til I return to work as I remember Ash's cost a bit by time we gave the church a 'donation' and put on food for everyone.
Meg and Nai, you girls are game, I'm still not sure about attempting it with the 2!
Em been funny she gets so cranky if she sees me eating, I might have to offer more finger food cause as soon as she sees me eat she acts like she is starving and gets excited if I give her something.
I was just reading on another forum that I am on that this is the age for seperation anxiety, to the p[oint that sometimes they wake in the night worried that you won't come back.
E has taken to crying every night when I put her down for the evening. Maybe that is why?! They said that sleep issues in bubs that have never had sleep issues before can go on from 6 to about 9 months,
Ali - Glad the day went well, and that your sis's make up.
Shell - but I will have my mum with me as well. She will amuse J. Nai I will PM you my number if you want to catch up.

I was looking in the Wonder Weeks book and they say that these weeks are the seperation realisation weeks so I think you are right about that! Miss J has just started looking for me when I leave the room and starts crying when she can't see me.
Ali, I'm glad the christening went well! You can relax now.
Shell, Miss J is the same - I have to give her a crust or some other finger food to keep her happy while I eat something otherwise she cracks it.
Is anyone giving snacks for morning/afternoon tea? I have found that Miss J likes to have a bit of fruit or something in between meals now (no wonder she's getting so chubby!!)

we have just been though the separation anxiety thing for the past 2 months and i think we are now coming out the other side- right on cue he meggiemoppit!!
i can now leave the room without the world falling apart and he will now happily go to my DH and my mum!! Phew
Yes sleep has been suffering b/cause of it- he wants to sleep in my arms in the middle of the night- esp around 4am!! great- so it can take anything up to 2 hours to resettle and me get back to bed- night time sleep for us has sucked for 2 months now. He is also feeding heaps overnite still - every 2 hours most nites grrr!!! HE just wants cuddles with his mum!!
Boof likes food whenever its handed to him- anytime of the day! He just eats everything.
gonna try him on yoghurt soon - great as a snack. Otherwise he eats whatever we do- in the same state- i.e not mashed. He ate a hashbrown today when we went out for brunch lol funny
Went to MCHN on friday for our 8 month check up- he is now 75cm long- the size of a 12 months lol - still around 10kg ! So still a big boy even though he didnt gain much weight for the past two months- appararently quite common not to gain much between 6 and 8 months!!
still thinking about the P & B expo- onyl thing that is stopping me is that i have pilates on a friday so would have to miss my class- hmmm will see
I get my new car on tues- i am sooo excited- this is the car i have always wanted- a Honda MDX- its second hand but still ace for me- and a 7 seater WHOOT!!!!

other than that DH is nearly over glandular finally- although still has off days every now and then so things are settling down here. my mum is still doing it tough , but she is getting there and hangs out here a bit which is really nice

wahhhhhhh miss m is a little off today :o just took 2 hours to get her to sleep, io had to lay down and feed her to sleep in sophies bed. she had rosy cheeks this morning so not sure if its teeth, but she was hysterical, soooooo over tired poor chook, i just hope she sleeps for more than 40 mins.

AFM - Parents visit went well. J had a great 24 hours while they were here (about time!) and mum kept saying how good he was so no unwanted advice thank god. Since they left J's been back to his usual :rolleyes: So frustrated this morning cause the phone rang and woke him and I didn't get to it cause I was in the shower :doh: Got a sore throat here and feeling ordinary so am just going to go with the sleep flow (or lack of) for a bit longer and then start getting serious next week.
shes been asleep almost 2 hours, she was snoring before :lol: ment to be going to m/group but depending on when she wakes as whether or not we go!
glad j was great while your folks were around, hope your throat gets better soon!
kaz - i went to sleep when they had about 50 laps to go. Alex has been so testing lately - really clingy, whingy etc that I too kthe opportunityh to have a sleep.

supposed to go to swim classes this morning, went to sleep at 9 and woke up at 10.40, takes 40 minutes to drive to swim class - I'm 15 minutes late, so I just turn around and come home again.. reallyh shouldn't have bothered, but thought I could make it across in 30 minutes.. am really loosing the plot here, everything is jus so overwhelming at the moment... sorry for lack of personals.. I'm a slacker and I know it :-D

Shell - Isabel is the same - she is eating lots of crackers, cheese sticks, toast crusts, yoghurt, cucumber, basically anything I can offer her while I am eating! She cracks it otherwise! Quite cute really. Unless I have nothing to give her, then it is a bit distressing!
Ali - so glad the christening went well! Looked at the FB pics, Ash looked so cute :D Nice cake too!

AFM: We are dummy-free now and have been since Sat morning. Last night she settled at the in-laws house (in a proper cot they have there that she has slept in lots) in about half an hour and stayed asleep as we transferred into the car and then to home and she slept til 5.30am!!! No resettling required!!! Resettled at 5.30 as she was grumpy and tired, look aaaages but worked eventually.
I don't resettle during the day - if we are at home on a good day she will sleep about an hour and a half in the morning and anything from 40 mins to two hours in the arvo. If we are out she will do 40min naps. But at night I resettle and don't feed.
My current technique is to rock and cuddle her until she is asleep or almost asleep, then back into the cot, if she stirs then I hold her hands on her chest with hand and with the other hand I pat her groin, quite hard. She turns and nuzzles into her snuggle bunny and drifts off. Seems to be working, for now anyway...

I really wanna go to the baby expo but will have to see how I go. Sounds stupid, but I still haven't taken L anywhere by myself and I'm certainly not getting a train by myself! So will have to see if I can get mum or someone to come with me :redface: Would really like to go though!
Have been really busy with uni and will be all this week coz 2 assignments due. I'm scheduled to go back to work mid november and I need to give 4 weeks notice if I want to change the date - which I do, so I really have to get onto writing that letter. I plan to go back in Feb, take it up to 12 months leave. Also have L's dedication next month so I have to hurry up and organise the invitations - I was hoping to post them today but I haven't even bought the card to print them on yet. I swear there are just not enough hours in the day :rolleyes: So things to do this week: assignments, print and post invitations, and type out letter to work and post!
Oh and I don't know if anyone remembers, but one of my sisters is serving a sentence in a youth justice centre at the moment and she gets a day leave on wednesday so they are bringing her home to see us so I have penned her in for wednesday. L is meant to have his 8 month check that day but that reminds me...I better reschedule that tomorrow for next week!! Time to put some reminders in my phone I think.
Just quickly, Nai, I saw your pics on fb of J swimming...she is just divine! She is so gorgeous and looks like such a delight. You are very lucky :) I'm so scared of taking L swimming. Giving him a bath is traumatising enough :rolleyes:

OP- Throw them out! I was told that so if you have a bad day you're not tempted to use them again. I threw Em's out after the first sleep without them. Life is so much easier without them once they learn to sleep on their own they don't wake as often.
Tarkine- :hug: doesn't sound like you are having the best of times recently. Can you get a break from someone? Just take each day at a time, maybe just go for walks to get yourself out of the house and its something you can do in your own time.
Jols- So how is miss M? After all that sleep she ok?
Kaz- You might have to get your parents back so J is on his best behaviour! Hope your not coming down with anything. Early night for you, honey and lemon drink.
Det- yay a new car! Boof is big boofer, yeah they do start to slow down on weight, sad in a way when they start losing that real chubber look. Love baby chubby legs and cheeks. Ash is now stick thin so can't really remember her as a chubber, lol.
Nai- we still aren't quite up to 3 meals yet, some days she'll have 3 some days only 2 so not up to snacks yet, tho I guess i do give her something to munch on if I am eating to keep her happy!
So with this seperation anxiety thing anyone notice its just them and not your partners? Df had the girls all day sat, Em was fine, whenever hes around she'll play and be happy, if I am around she wants me, I'll be in the kitchen, she'll crawl to the gate and grizzle with her arms up waiting to be picked up! So hard to get anything done!
Holly- lol at that being a 'quick one'! I remember after having Ash it took me ages to go out alone, now after number 2 I end up going everywhere alone.
Thats great with your sister, how long a sentence does she have? Can she get early release?

ali i think were having the same issues :o millie feed twice last night and wouldnt resettle for DH, then wouldnt resettle after the second feed to she came into our bed, im buggered, was up hourly for 3 hours between both girls then awake from 4.30am.
she slept fine yesterday arvo, might be teeth :dunno:

Hi guys!! Haven't been in here, DD has been sick and I can't get her off me so had no time to catch up. Went back to the Dr yesterday and she had Roseola. I had never heard of it but apparently it's very common at this age and by the time we're adults we're all immune. She had a temp for 3 days, then a rash on her body for 3 days. She doesn't seem to have any symptoms any more but is seriously cranky and clingy. I thought it was coz she's sick but now I see lots of us are dealing with the same thing. I am freaking OVER IT!!!!!!!!!!!!
Is this what's happening to everyone else??
-she cry's all the time (she never usally cries) and it's like a really upset cry with tears because she wants to be picked up.
-she can be playing fine and then as soon as she sees me will cry bc she wants me
-I can't do anything without her crawling over to my feet to be picked up
-even sitting in her highchair eating and I'm right next to her she screams coz she wants to be picked up.
-she wants me to hold her while she plays!!
OMG the constant whinging is doing my head in. Where is my happy girl?? She has been cosleeping too when she was sick and it was a nightmare trying to get her to sleep in her own bed last night! So is this normal or is she still sick??
Sounds like some seperation anxiety too Heaven but also as she is sick it is probably making it worse :(

Miss J has been up twice during the night too so it seems to be the thing at the moment. I resettled her without feeding at 12.30am but then brought her into our bed at 5.30am when she woke again. Then this morning she did the biggest poo!! I am soooo glad she was wearing a wondersuit as it came out of the nappy leg holes and filled up the legs of the wondersuit (sorry TMI) - I was in shock!

Heaven, yeah L is like that all the time. Unfortunately for us, I think that's just him and not a phase!! :rolleyes: If DP or someone else is holding him and I walk past or he spots me somewhere else in the room he starts crying and wimpering and reaching his arms out. If I walk towards him but then past him he starts screaming because he thought I was coming to get him :lol:
I bought a scootababy hip carrier the other week and have been using it - it is great!! I am forever carrying L on my hip and it's breaking my arm so this has really saved me. Comfy too. He is just too heavy for the hab now, so putting that away for the next one :p
Shell, yeah the separation anxiety is definitely only with me here. L couldn't give two hoots if DP was here or not - he's a mumma's boy for sure! As for my sister, I think she will be eligible for parole in the coming month or two, but if not, she will have served her time by Feb I'm pretty sure. She is 18 next month so if she stuffs up again, it may not be juvie next time.
We're having a bathroom bashed out at the front part of the house near L's room so it is full of dust!! He's currently napping in the pram next to me as I don't want to have in the dusty part of the house. He is making funny noises...hope he's not waking up :doh:
Oh and some exciting news on the solids front...last night he woofed down a bowl of pumpkin, freshly cooked and not pureed - I don't think he likes the defrosted pureed mush! And this morning for breakfast he had banana mixed with avocado and loved it! Ate the whole bowl. I then gave him half a cruskit and he ate that too. Woohoo!

DS had roseola when he was about this age. He got over it in about a week or so. I agree it sounds like seperation anxiety.
Bummer Nai on J being up. If it is makes you feel any better I had j in with me all night. He woke at 10pm with a raging temp and was VERY upset.

I am really peeved an annoyed today. After being up so much overnight while DH slept in the spare room, I was looking forward to a lunch with a friend today. As DH has the day off, was thinking even though J is unwell and can't go to childcare, he would be at home so I would take E and leave J. Anyway his work rang this morning, and he took an overtime shift! He thought that J could still go to childcare as even though his nose is running like a tap and that he has a hacking cough, he no longer has a temp. So I have had to cancel my lunch to stay home with J. He is not well enough for childcare, and anyway he would make other kids sick.
The friend I was having lunch with leaves to go back to London next week. so I won't see her for another few years. It is not like we desperately need the money. I think he does it to get away from the whinging kids. I am so tired, I have coldsores from being run down, and he already did the night before as overtime, meaning that I had been home alone with the kids for the past 5 or so day/nights.
I am so annoyed and upset. In fact I might go paste this and post it as a boo hoo.
ETA - Is E the only one still not crawling?? (she is not even close)

Separation a HUGE issue here at the moment too...and last night was a SHOCKER. DH away for work and A was waiting for him to say goodnight...ended up having to get her up and show her he wasn't in the bathroom or our bed and she finally went to sleep but woke up every two hours unable to settle herself which is really weird? So fed her at midnight and she still woke every two hours but managed to settle herself...just hoping it's not the zofran I took for the first time yesterday for ms??? I am sooooooo tired!!!!

So funny to hear we are all going thru the same thing! Just got home from MG and a few of the bubs there are doing the separation anxiety thing as well! Isabel's in the high chair next to me right now playing with her drink bottle (I know, its not a toy, but its keeping her happy!) but if I leave her eye line she cracks it!
We had a shocker last night - woke at 10pm, screamed for over two hours. So tired but so fighting sleep! Then awake at 6am!
Heaven, I ask the same thing - what happened to my happy baby???

Also Isabel isn't crawling, neither is Levi! Only three of the eight bubs in MG are crawling if that helps...

I agree it is comforting to know that we are going through the same things and hoping these phases go away as quickly as they came on.
I am so sad about DD being so sick. I have taken photos of her rash as it is really bad. She looks really really sore and yukky. It is not nice. We are back at the hospital for DP tomorrow for anothe ct scan and god knows what else. I also have to take DD back to the doctors as well so they can seee what her rash is like in the morning. It is even on the soles of her feet and her palms. She is covered. I was so scared this morning, thinking meningicoccal or meningitis but thank goodness its not one of those.
Jols- 10000!!!! WOW!!!!! When did Soph get teeth??? Do you think Millie will get them around the same time Soph did?
Nai- DP gagged the other day when he changed a pooey nappy as it was so disgusting! You made me giggle though!
Holly- I am thinking of getting a new sling, I like Heaven's one! Think I might ask some friends if I can try theirs out so I can decide what to get. DD is gettign so heavy!
OP & Heaven- the seperation anxiety is killing me! Lets hope its over soon! I want my happy baby back as well!

Yep sounds like we all having same drama, drives me nuts sometimes, if I'm upstairs doing something she is fine as soon as she either sees me or hears me upset wants me, also had a wakeful night here last night, she wasn't happy.

Meg- I don't blame you being ****ed. I know when Df is on holidays and the kids are sick he makes mentions how he looks forward to going back to work cause easier. It not fair cause he has had his weekends away so why shoudln't you have this? Its so hard when we can't get a break but whenever things get too much for them they can easily get away from it all while we have to soilder on.
Holly- hopefully she'll get out soon and stay on the straight and narrow. Enjoy the day with her tomor.
I'd been meaning to ask how your scootababy is going. cause yeah our HAB I wear her facing out but gets heavy quickly, so with yr scootababy do you find you can wear for a lenghth time without pain? How well does weight go on the shoulder strap any pulling?

Heaven- could be a mix of seperation and being unwell, poor girl is the rash settling? yeah that whingy is what pushes me over the edge! Its just constant.
