Tonight he is having zuchini fritters for dinner - just (made with) cooked zuchini with cheese and covered in bread crumbs. He's never had cheese before!

So I didn't just make them - the Italian restaurant down the road did :ROFL: It was his first takeaway...and dare I say, many more to come knowing my cooking reportoir! They look easy enough to make though so I will give them a try. He LOVED them - the breadcrumb outer was a bit chewy so I just squeezed the filling out and he ate the filling of 4 golf ball size frittas.

Shell, yeah I'm thinking I have to condition him somehow to stop the biting - that sounds like a good way!

We went to our local street festival today.. was a great morning out with the kids, amazing to see how much L is taking in now.. seems so interested in everything..he has cut down to two sleeps a day now of usually 2- 2.5 hrs each, occasinally he will have 3 sleos but not often, actually works quite well, though he is still shocking at night, last night was another not so good night!! :pray: that he has a better night tonight!

Ali - Gland Fever can also cause Epstin Bar virus which can lead to tiredness etc. I also have times when I want to have my own space... Are your iron levels okay? Have you thought about having a full blood workup to rule out anything else.

he is very vocal. Most babies will either be physical ( move early) vocal ( talk early) or some other skill- they cant devlop all these skills at once- hence why our babies are at different levels - boofs main skill that he is really good at is eating lol- he eats everything - he was eating corn chips last nite as an example - too funny- no texture worries him
all babies are different and develop at different times and ages
dont stress that your babes arnt doing things that others are- that is just babies! Its not a race but so much pressure is put on esp first time mothers if there babies are not doing things that others arnt ( the downside of mothers groups)- it is not a reflection of you as a mother- its just how babies develop!! That is why i hate those damm blue child health centre books!!!


Went to the twins spring fair today- was great fun and they had a ball- i even managed to get some sunburn - although i put sunscreen on everyone else- i forgot myself- typical

got my new car a few weeks ago and loving it!! been crusing a bit in it and boof is happy to cruz in the back- as long as i have his brainy baby DVD playing through the built in DVD player!! The same one over and over again!!!

hmm might get to bed before 2am tonite- gonna treat myself!! LOL

i got a sleep in today :o went to bed at 8.40, fed millie at 1am, resettled at 2am woke at 6.30am when the giels did then slept from 7.30 to 9.50am :o the most sleep ive had in around 12 months!

Det - I agree with the comparision thing but it is interesting to see how all our bubs are developing differently. Just goes to show how different they all are. Far out u are so busy.. I'm just exhausted reading what your up to.

AFM - not much to report here. Yesterday I had the "Oh this is my last birthday that I can say I'm 30 somethings". Happy to report I'm over it, thanks to some organic chocolate (how easily am I bought off). Have organised to spend my birthday doing what I want to do, which is laying on the grass at the botanic gardens with Alex using me as a play gym (weather permitting). Not worth getting upset about my age, ain't nothing I can do about it. have started to write my 3rd book

Now I just need to find a group of mums to get together with... wishing you all a great week!

Sorry for another absence - just haven't had a chance to sit down and jump on here! There's always so much to be done when Isabel sleeps... I can't find the time somehow!

I do have some news - I'm pregnant! Yay!!! :D Very strange - did a test this morning, was convinced I was not and then got a BFP! Haven't really had any symptoms except starting to feel very tired... guess that is what happens when you're still BF while growing another bub!

It must have thought daylight savings happened this weekend! Grrrrr! Might go get a blood test. Feeling much better today but to be sick for that long, something isnt right.

Can't believe I finally have some time to post. With this kid on the move there's not much spare time!! Crap, she's getting into the cupboard now, better make this quick!!

2. Crawling? Is it called commando crawling? Most of you have prob seen her on FB. She's really fast and goes all over the house. The last few days she's getting up on all fours rocking back and forth though so she will crawl properly any minute I think!!
3. Standing up holding furniture? Yes, not pulling herself up though. Can stand by herself if I put her there.
4. How many meals a day? 3
5. What do you do for play time at home? She crawls around exploring things, plays with the dog LOTS, we read books, go for walks, sing songs, etc.

7. Saying words? Just dad dad dada daddy dad dad ALL....DAY....LONG, waiting for mum mum!!!! LOL

We're down to 2 day sleeps too for the last week or so. One at about 8.30/9am and then again at 12.30/1pm. And still only 45min-1hr!! But she is sleeping on her own so I'm very happy. And the other day she fell asleep BY HERSELF in the CAR!!!!!!! Absolute miracle for her, she has always hated the car and can never self settle. So she is in mummy's good books right now, LOL.

OMG, got to run, she's wrecking things!!

Ali - I hope you feel better soon. It is so hard going back to work and being sick on top of everything! The reunion was great. There were about half of the people from the year group there and it was not nasty at all. I didn't speak to a couple of people but that's about all (and those ones I really didn't have anything to say as I didn't actually remember them :redface: ). I think you should go to your 10 year - mine was fun but once again I drank too much (seems to be a pattern :lol: I have now lost 13kg so I was feeling pretty good (although I have probably gained this week with the huge weekend that i had!)

Det - Once again, you hit hte nail right on the head in regard to baby's development. That is one of the anxiety issues that I have is around my children and their development. I am convinced something is wrong. COmes from working in the disability field I think.

Peeved with DH again. HE starts work at 1pm today. I really wanted to go the gym, but he went off and is playing golf! THen because he is working this arvo/evening, I won't get to go at all.

Emily improving but still not right, no more temps but she still looks bit pale and is sleeping alot more, yesterday between 7am and 7pm she spent 7.5hrs napping (not all at once) today shes had 5 day sleeps! Still quite clingy and totally off solids, having bottles but not alot. A worry when they're unwell!

L is still sick. I am convinced he's got asthma. I also think he might have bronchiolitis again so we are off to the doctors this afternoon. Everyone is sick in my household at the moment, including me! This is the last thing I need as I have so much study to do for my exam on Friday :( *Sigh* So typical! Moreover...I have misplaced my retainer so I'm scared my teeth are going to move and I'm pretty sure that my wisdom teeth are making a move as my jaw is aching on the left side and I remember my last xrays a couple of years ago showed they were going to be a problem soon. Great! So tomorrow I'm off to the ortho so they can take moulds and make a new retainer, get a referral for an xray and then see the dentist to find out the damage!

Sorry girls I've been MIA again lately - so busy!!

2. Crawling? Nowhere close!! He does try to fly when on his belly though :lol:
3. Standing up holding furniture? No but will support most of his weight when I hold him upright.

5. What do you do for play time at home? Floor time, toys, the latest game is banging things together (drums, aligator xylophone, random objects he can reach etc) and he also likes to flick things with his fingers, kicking his legs (ALL THE TIME), patting the dog and laughing at her, reading stories, toys with moving parts, he also enjoys riding in the pram and around the supermarket!!
6. Still have a dummy? Yes - only for bedtime and occasionally if we're out for hours on end and he's tired but won't sleep :rolleyes:
7. Saying words? ah-da and ah-dada is the fave but also deedee, heydar (sounds like hey there), googoo, dar, doo, blah blah other indistinguishable noises as well. Heard mumum a long time ago (months) but not recently - thinks it's funny when I say it to him. Also, it's not really a word but he does this trilling gargling noise in the back of his throat sometimes and has recently started making a growling type noise too (similar to when he's pushing a poo!!! lol).
8. clapping? no but likes it when we do.
9. waving? no but thinks it's funny when we do.
10. teeth? no thank god!!

Sleep - day sleeps have been much improved lately - he's doing 1.5 to 3 hour sleeps now Whoot!! and generally has 3 with the third sleep a short 40mins nap between 4-5pm. At night he's just started going a bit longer too - has dropped the 1:30-2am feed and goes down at 6:30pm, feeds at around 10pm then through til around 4:30-5am. Up by 7am.

OP - A massive congrats darl!!! I was just thinking of you the other day and wondering if you were utd yet. Such great news!!! Will you find out the sex?
Malyna - I know what you mean about decision making. I didn't really get given any options along the way (as in they weren't presented as choices) and then all of a sudden they were saying, "if you want a live baby we need to go to theatre now" I have since been told they misdiagnosed the CTG readout so Jacob wasn't as distressed as they thought he was. So frustrating but I am trying to take that view you talked about where things happen for a reason to teach us something or show us something. I'll get there. Hope the weather is fine for your birthday!! Whoohoo on your third book. How do we read the first two? Are you publishing them?
Olive - Whoot on the sleep!! Hope your ear is getting better.
Shell - Must be worrying that DD isn't back to her usual self. That is a lot of sleep. Hopefully it's helping her fight whatever is going on in her body. The sore throat hangs around for a while doesn't it? I have been meaning to ask you for ages how her legs/hips are? Have they evened up over time?
Ali - Glad to hear DD is getting better. How are you feeling now? That's a long time to be feeling unwell. You must be so over it! Yay on your weight loss too mate! btw, you're unreal to have bf this long without feeling resentful before now. I feel that way from time to time too - not all day but just some feeds some of the time. It's better now he's not feeding 2 hourly all afternoon though.
Holly - I might try DS on cheese soon too. You've inspired me! Sorry to hear everyone is sick! Seems to be the month for it. Hope the docs visit goes ok and your wisdom teeth stay put for a while longer (at least until the semester is over!) Good luck in your exam too!

Thanks again for all the congrats! We probably will find out the sex yep. That way we'll know if we need to go shopping for BLUE or if we can reuse all the thousands of clothes Isabel doesn't fit anymore!

I can't help but be a bit worried already... all the dramas we had with Isabel at our 12 week scan... but we will have to wait and see what happens down the track.

Just a little vent...an 8 month old...bushfires...pregnancy...MS...4 dogs...hubby away...I feel like I'm going to cry and not stop for a week...this can't be good for Anika or bub...at least the fire is contained...MS sux...dogs driving me mad but really just protecting us while DH away...'sigh'...try again tomorrow...please please sleep through baby girl!!!!

Nai - Hope the girls slept well for you last night. I could feel my thighs yesterday from squatting and crab walking around in the pool and I was only in for 30mins :redface:

Thanks Kaz...feeling much better...Anika slept through from7pm till about 5am then...(amazingly) settled herself and slept through to 6.30am...I was waiting for her to wake up!!! Amazing what a good nights sleep can do...hopefully DH home tonight too :)

Congrats first of all to OP and Ellie on your news! So awesome! I must admit to wanting another baby but would have to talk DH into it first. He's adamant that 2 is enough.

As for us we are doing well. Heidi has cut her first tooth in the last couple of days, sleep is changeable! Think I had it too good from 8 weeks to 5 months and then the long stretches of sleep at night stopped. Not too bad though - normally down at 7pmish, sometimes a feed at 10.30/11pmish and then sleeps till 5am.

Well shes awakes so will be back later.

AFM - Alex is teething and we have hayfever, I've got a milk pimple thingie (sorry can't remember the technical term), so we are all the the wars here. Went out for dinner around BILs house, got there at 5.45, left at 8.30 (I basically grabbed alex and just left, coz DH sits there and says "we have to be going soon" for about an hour and won't go), got Alex into bed at 11. Have decided that people can come around to our house for dinner if they want to catch up.

Alex has started to walk along things - chairs, drawers in the kitchen, I'm not ready for him to walk!

Far out Malyna - walking!!! Miss J hasn't even started crawling yet :lol:

Nai - Al maybe doing the sidewalking (occassionally, i might add) but we have no teeth yet, and we are not very chatty (at, ar, daddda muuummmm).. and TBH I wish he wasn't up on his feet...but hey that's life :-D

Today was Emilys first day of being back to her normal self, but still not eating solids exceot for maybe 2-3 mouthfuls sleep has gone to crap, nights she wakes often and is back to having 2 bottles overnight plus all the other wake ups! So very tired here.

Meg- how was work? Are you doing casual shifts at the moment? Are you planning on going back permanantly?

malyna- we rarely go out for dinner. Its too much of a hassle with kids, we do go to mil's cause she does set up porta cot but thats it really. I remember when we just had Ash and BIL would plan dinners and always late like 7pm they have kids of there own (older) but you think they'd remember what its like with young ones.

NZGirl- good to hear from you again, there sleep is always changing isn't it, never know one night to the next what its gonna be like.

Ellie- I always alternate the milk and solids for example early morn bottle then breakfast about 8, bottle bout 10:30ish the lunch couple hours later if that makes sense. Hope the good nights are continuing, I remember how exhausting pregnancy is.

OP- I was thinking about you the other day regarding the stressful scan last time. Do you think you will do the scan again? I didn't bother getting it done with Emily. Good luck with it this time if you are getting it done.

Kaz- thats great the sleep has improved, huge improvement to what you were going thru, you must be feeling alot better at the moment.
