I seriously dont know what to do with myself. Want to go have a bath but have a feeling she will wake just as I get in. I have even been in there twice kissing her and she is still sleeping.

ali how long does she go between sleeps? id put her down as per normal
millie gets up from her last sleep around 6pm and is back down my 7pm!
She woke up just after my last post. i bathed her and she;s feeding now, normally 1.5hrs between sleeps. i might try and put her down after this and see how we go
Eta- just got her to sleep after alot of patting!
Hey girls,
Sorry I keep just popping in randomly, I feel like such a lousy contributer and baby buddy! I don't know how you all get the time to post! DP has Leon at the moment so I can try and catch up. It's so good having DP around, he has tomorrow and Thursday off after working 9 days in a row!
Heaven, L's poos have been watery too - like pumpkin soup! Although today they appeared more pastey, but recently, more often than not they're watery...weird. Not sure what that's all about.
Ali, maybe she's making up for the lack of sleep she's had lately. Hope she continues to have nice big blocks of sleep (especially during the night).
Det, omgoodness - Levi did that to his ear?! Poor thing! Not looking forward to teething stage. Hope the twins are right for school tomorrow, seems like you need a break!
OP, yay for Isabel's sleeps!
Shell, that's good that you get a 4 hour block of sleep! So jealous :p Not so good about the lead up to the sleep though...hope she stops the screaming episodes.
Nai, hope the sleeping is better tonight. Maybe she is teething early!
Hi everyone else :)
AFM, still nothing on the contraception front, but don't worry, we haven't had any time to ourselves since I last posted anyway! Still thinking it's unlikely I'm utd and too scared to take a test so I'm just going to continue being ignorant and no more bed time action.
L is having a lot of trouble with his nose still...very noisy breathing and it gets worse at night where he can't breathe at all through his nose. When I feed him I have to pull his cheeks away from his nose so it opens his nostrils up a bit (if that makes sense!) just so he can breathe a bit through his nose. We are going to see a paediatric dermatologist to further investigate his haemangiomas (strawberry marks and the growth in his nose). The one in his nose might have to be removed.
He doesn't seem to have reached some of the milestones you all are talking about. Hasn't rolled over yet, or even tried to lol. Doesn't reach out for toys or anything like that. His neck/head control seems really good though (but what do I know!)
I've sent a letter into work to request longer leave (until mid November, where I'll only go back 2 days) but I might change my mind closer to the date and request even more! I was meant to start back next month but that is just way too soon and I never really imagined how hard it could be to have a baby and how time consuming it really is! PLUS I couldn't be bothered expressing milk lol. But uni starts next month so looking forward to that. I can't believe I miss studying, but I do. Weird. Now that my mat leave pay has run out I am living the poor uni student life, and relying on DP's wage  Now I have to ask to go shopping! Hehe ;)
Anyway, that's all for now. Will try to come back online tomorrow. Hope we all have a good night (unlikely!)
holly sophie has a hamageoma on her arm! i hope they sort out leons nose!
glad to 'see' you back! what are you studying?
glad to hear ashlyn went to sleep for you ali!!
millie woke at 6.05pm bathed, fed and went back to bed at 6.50pm!
grrr- just looked up the websites and apparenty its 7 days isolation with piggy disease- grr!!!
so i guess no school for twins again tommorow
I am slowly going to end up in the nut house!!!!
oh gee det id be going insane too! :o i feel for you been tired ,having a non sleeping baby and two kids who are bored!
and the best part is that they would be OK for school on friday- except its a statewide curriculum day and THERE IS NO SCHOOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!
GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
Bummer Det, plus cold winter weather means that you can't even send them into the backyard.
Holly - Funny that you say how time consuming a bub is. It is so true, but you know what? You get used to it, and by the time the second one comes along, wven when they are unsettled, they don't seem as hard. I really want to go back to work now. But the sort of work that I do really requires at least 3 days a week, and I am not wanting more than 2. Funny that I want to go back. Last time I didn't go back till J was 15 months.
Ali - I hope she behaves for you tomight,
OP - Glad you have seen some improvement.
Shell - I hope you get some improvement oon. How is Ash going? Any better?
Ok - Thats all from me for tomight. I am tired. E has already woken once tonight, as her nose is so blocked. I had to suction it out with the fess thingy. Ewwwww. Poor little poppit, I think I am in for a long one tonight.
BOO!!!!
bbl for personals!
:juggling: :nahnah: :loveshower:
Where is everyone today???
Isabel and I have had a lovely day at Mother's Group, we missed you Det! Its quite funny - everyone at MG thinks Isabel is a great sleeper, she always has one or two naps when we are there and never cries. If only she slept well at home/night!!!
Meg - how was your night??
Det - how's your sanity, or lack thereof??
AJP - how's Millie going?
Ali, how did Ash go after her big sleep?
Holly - poor little L, I really hope you get some answers/relief soon  I know what you mean about work - my mat leave payment has gone and I feel like I have to ask/explain when I spend money because DH is bringing home the bacon! Hope you work things out soon. How was your night??
Hi to everyone else!!
AFM: not much else to report. Feel like bad parent when I realised today that DD hasn't gone to bed at 7pm and stayed in her own bed since last Thursday :o We've had dinner at friends' houses, a wedding, a church thing, etc etc! Those things considered, I think she's doing pretty well.
Last night she had a feed at around 6pm, 9pm, then a dreamfeed at 11pm once we got home (she stayed asleep) and slept til 3am, quick feed and back to bed, slept til 7am. That's pretty good - two four hour blocks. I think that's pretty good and I'm hoping she starting to turn a corner and get better.
Fingers crossed!
Megie, how do you suction her nose? Is it really effective?
Det, hope it wasn't too hectic today!
AJP, is Sophie's haemangioma just the strawberry marking or is it more of a protruding growth/lump? Leon has both types! I'm studying psychology and it seems I'm going to be studying forever at this rate  I need 6 years full time study to be a qualified psychologist, but I'm not doing uni full time!!
How is everyone else going today?
We had another very bad night last night. Has anyone seen those nasal strips advertised on TV? The ones to open up the nasal passage to allow for easier breathing during the night. They need them for babies!! Going to the paed tomorrow. I didn't want to opt for removing L's lump but I feel like it's the only way. He can't even get a decent sleep and feeding is so difficult. Sighhhhh.
Well, not sure when I'll get on again, hopefully tomorrow. Have a good night everybody xox
PS...L is in cloth now! Finally!
HollyM - Let us know how you go at the paed. Hope you get some good answers. I've had Posy in cloth for a while but it's getting really difficult to get the Baby Beehinds dry. DH is having to take them to the laundromat to dry which seems to undermine the whole trying-to-be-enironmentally-friendly efforts. We don't have a drier at home.
OP - you've been really busy! Hope you're enjoying seeing lots of people at social do's.
MM - I'm also v. interested in this suctioning device you mention. Posy manages to sneeze out some enormous boogas but I've always wondered what you're meant to do when their nose is really blocked.
As well as enormous boogas, Posy does the most toxic farts. Anyone else experiencing this with their bubs? MCHN says its because she (Posy - not the MCHN) is now pooing so infrequently. She's happy as a lark so obviously all these noxious gases aren't bothering her (just me and DH!)
Det - hope you stay sane. What's all this paperwork you're doing? Your own business? Sorry if you've already told everyone else?
hi girls
just popping in to say i'm still here-super tired atm. jimmy has not been sleeping well at all during the day which is sooo tiring
oh and the nose suctioning thing that mm was talking about is called 'fess little noses' and it does work-it has saline drops with it and a litte suction thing. i find the best thing over winter is a vaporiser in their room too to help them breathe
I too was going to post about the poo thing. E ussed to poo every day, but it has now been 3 days. Should I be worried? She if fully BF.
Yep I have the Fess Little Nose. You get it at the Chemist. It is great. We too have a vopouriser that I am using at the moment.
OP - Hoping it is the start of better sleeping.
Holly - I really hope it goes well at the paed.
J useed cloth nappies from 6 months old, so I will do the same with Miss E, as I don't want to buy smaller ones. Si she will start soon.
Had a pretty ordinary night last night. Not because of E (she slept through till 6, with once me going in at about 3 and reinsetring the dummy) J was up twice, as he had wet the bed, and DH was up most of the night, as he too now is sick. Here's for a better night tonight.
Emily is also a toxic farter, we always jokingly ask her what she been eating! And she poos every 2-3 days, last time I saw my MCHN she said BF babies could go a week without poo! :o
Holly- How is everything with your sister? Let us know how the paed appt goes and what the plan is, it must be hard knowing he can't breathe properly and the sleep deprivation too.
Hello yummy mummies!
For some reason I am not gettign email notifications about our thread. Hopefully it will start to work again after this.
Was DP's and my anniversary today. 8 yrs! Still spins me out. He got me a voucher for my hairdressers and a 1 hour massage and facial. How good is that! I feel a bit bad because I jsut got him a body pillow! Long story but DP had a back injury and needs to sleep with a pillow in between his legs and I thought he would like that. He did which was good but I was thinking I should have got me one when I was pregnant!
DD is sleeping better now. We are getting our day sleeps sorted. Still waking 2 or 3 times a night for a feed. Feeds at 6pm, 12am, (sometimes 2:30am), 4:30am & 7am. I thnk it is pretty normal. I read somewhere that babies of this age are classed as "sleeping thorough" if they sleep for one six hour period. Mmm interesting.
Mhami-the farts are crazy! Although DDs seem to be more noise this day than pooey farts. She is now going number 2's less frequently. Used to b after every feed!
Rainy- hope the sleep improves. DO you think a growth spurt? How is your other little man coping with a new little brother?
Jols- I read your other thread. I really think your blood loss and transfusions have really knocked you for six. I know you are taking iron tabs but am wondering if anyting like accupuncture or something would help you as well. I am so unmotivated and exhausted sometimes and I only have one little rugrat to run around after. Lots of  to you. I hope things get better.
Meg- sometiems men are worse patients than children. to you and hope you get mroe sleep tonight.
Holly- You really need some help hun. Do you have a good Mchn? I hope there is somethign to help little L and you. I think you should keep your idea in mind. You could be on a winning ticket with that idea about nasal strips for babies and kids as I am sure there must be other mums that have children going through what L is.
OP- sounds like DD is gettign a good sleep pattrern going. Good work.
Kaz- 1 week until I meet you and little Jacob! :hooray:
Det- Oh no on the kids being off. I hope you are all alright now and havent killed each other. I seriously dont know how you cope on such little sleep. Are you jsut used to it now?
Nai- Is DD1 back at pre-school or is it still quarenteened? Hope you are all good.
Raver- Loved your photos from the meet up sounds like you all had a cracking good time.
Arrr I cant remember what else.
Love to you all and your little ones. xo
Hi All,
I hope no one minds but I?d love to join your thread, I too have a baby the same age my second child Lewis born on the 18th Feb 2009 weighing 6lb 10oz.
I have been following this thread for a few days and wasn?t sure if anybody could join as I thought you may have had to join during pregnancy. It is great to read that the babies are doing similar things to DS, and to share ideas with people going through the exact same things that I am.
A bit about us. Well we were in hospital with AJP, I was the lady that Jols could here giving birth really loudly next door:redface:. We ended up in the same room together in a four bed ward and have become friends.
DS isn?t the best sleeper in the world but does settle easily he just does not like to big blocks of sleep for me like my DD (3.5yrs) did at the same age, He likes to drink and weighs around 7kg.
I?m looking forward to getting to know you all online, Hope you don?t mind me joining in.
Hi girls!!
We were away over the long weekend and it seems like I've missed heaps in here. Have quickly read over everything.
Shell - It makes sense that your supply might have dropped a little considering how little sleep you're getting. It's weird that mother nature requires us to get sleep in order to make milk. Once you're in a bad cycle it's hard to break. I hope you've broken it!
OP - You need a big  and a medal mate. You've had a rough week with Isabel - hopefully it improves soon. Yay for 4 hour sleeps!! btw - I think you're amazing to have EVER had Isabel in bed and asleep for the night at 7pm. Jacob has never been in bed before 9pm and it's usually later.
Heaven - I've got BBH Magicalls and Greenkids nappies too for Jacob. They're both great - I esp love the Greenkids. BBH take a while to dry - I have to turn them inside out. They're made to poo on you know  The sunshine will get rid of any stains.
Ali - for your rough night with Ashlyn the other night. And Grrrr at your DP refusing to help! Hope you've had better nights since. I'm really looking forward to meeting you next week too!!
Nai - Yay for no more quarrantine. I was thinking of you on the weekend.
Mhami - Are you turning the BBH inside out to dry? We don't have a drier either. We're using the fire atm but it gets on my nerves sometimes to constantly have clothes hangers in front of it!
Meg - Jacob has done the same thing recently. Gone from a poo in every nappy, to every second nappy, to a couple a day, to one a day, and now we haven't had one since Monday afternoon. They're huge when they arrive! BF babies can go 7-10 days without a problem and its extremely rare that they ever get constipated.
Sorry girls, this post got interrupted to feed Jacob and now I can't remember what else I was going to say. After a good day yesterday where he slept for 3 hours in the morning and another 2.5 in the afternoon with a 40min sleep at lunchtime in between :o Jacob has been super fussy and cranky today. All day. It's driving me nuts. He is grumbling and whinging and wanting to feed a lot (even had an extra feed last night) but not feeding for long periods. He is down now but grumbling and crying everytime he loses the dummy. Not sure what came first but I've had a pretty crap day myself as well. Seems like nothing is going right, feel like I get hardly anything done and just generally grouchy. Can't wait until tomorrow to start again.
 you all have good sleeps tonight girls!
ETA - Hi Pinny-mum - welcome to BB and welcome to this thread. Of course you can join. The more the merrier! Lewis sounds like he is doing well. That's great weight gain.
Pinny-mum- Great to hear from you and you are more than welcome in here. It is great to share things. These girls have all become my rocks. Kind of like a little rock garden! ;) I was pretty loud giving birth as well and was telling the midwives to apologise to the other ladies who were about to give birth as I felt like I might have scared them to death! DP said I wasnt that bad but I know it was. Looking forward to hearing lots about your little ones :)
ETA
Kaz- Tomorrow will be here soon enough hun and you can start again. I think all our hormones still aren't normal and its understandable to be grouchy on little sleep. I hope your weekend away went well
Hi Pinny, lol I remember swearing, alot "F" words coming out in labour so don't worry! There are lots Melb girls in this group too.
holly heres sophie hamagioma at around 12 months, it was red and raised and hot to touch, but around 18 months it started to breakdown and go away, i have some photos but will have tofind them and post later. i think the treatment to remove is done by laser.
http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/e...y/DSCF8179.jpg
op hope isabel starts sleeping those blocks for you everynight!! i wouldnt feel bad a bout her not sleeping in her own bed, its better taht she gets used to sleeping in other places!!
mhami we have toxic poos here too  there bad!!!
rainy which vapouriser do you have??
meg its normal not to poo, it means bubs is using every last bit of the breastmilk to grow!
hope the sickness leaves your house soon!
shell  i sometimes think the same thing when millie farts!!
welcome D!!! good to see you in here!!!! we have to catch up!!
kaz hope you had a great weekend!! we have some days good some bad!!!
millie had her injections yesterday so is a little cranky today!!!
how do you guys type so much  im embarassed with my short but sweet post! though having said that, the lack of motivation isnt helping!im sure you all understand!
D let me know if you want to come to the meet up were having next week!!
(we are still meeting arnt we)
Hey girls
well i survived- just!!
DD was feral
she is still tired- but not tired enough to sleep so was appalling all day
DS was Ok till nite time and got tired
and levi was a angel
he just freaked and started crying when i yelled at the twins at one stage- poor poss!
OP- surprised you didnt hear me peaking from your house!!
Levi finally just settled for the nite now-think he wanted to stay up just to spend some one on one time with me
not used to sharing me lol
Are we meeting next week?
I'm up for it- lunch time is good for me- plenty of time for school drop off etc
OK how do i survive on so little sleep- the thing for me after have the twins and not getting a full nite sleep for 3 years- i learnt to fall asleep in seconds and sleep really solidly when i am asleep. I can wake and sleep - from zero to hero in a matter of seconds- and that is why i can survive on so little sleep
my body has gotten so used to sleep deprivation that it thinks that 3 hours a nite is normal! I actaully feel crappy now and more tired when i get 8 hours. The only bad thing about sleeping so little is that you put on weight !! Yep the more you are awake, the more weight you gain! LOL i also tend to get 3.30itis around 8.30pm lol so my whole day is outta whack constatly!
So going to sleep at 2am and waking up at 7am is my normal nite for me- waking usually around 4 to feed my man!
i just start to feel it a bit more when the twins act up at nite as well - some nites i spend more nites out of bed than in it!
i just write them off and catch up when i can. Learnt not to stress about sleep deprivation as it just makes it worse
So yes girls you will get use to it!
OK time to start paperwork- gotta get this damm tax done now- it was due in May and centrelink and ATO are riding my butt about it. Set myself a goal to get it done by Monday AM!!!
mwah!
:hello: all,
sorry for no personals again.. just a bad BB buddy.. Alex slept from 9.30 til 7.30am, but was on/off from about 12 yesterday til 9pm last night - had the second round of injections yesterday and I had to give him panadol last night coz he was warm - and i think that's what zonked him out. he's on the floor at the moment, but I'm going to have to get him soon.
Gotta go
:grouphug:
Hi just aquick one, will be back (L is grizzling as I type, have to type fast before he starts screaming!)
AJP, if only L's haemangioma was on his arm, not in his nose!! Although it certainly isn't aesthetically pleasing - was it a problem at all?
Meg, I have fess little noses but just the drops, it didn't come with a suction device! Really considering getting a vapouriser now, even though I've heard they are a pita to clean.
Oh great, gotta run he's cracked it...back soon!
its been no problem at all holly! im just glad, as you probably are, that its not on her face!
tarkine your not a bad BB friend! good sleep by alex!!
det hope the kids behave today for you!!
Hi girls... the meetup next week?? i could only come if it was friday :(
Am I missing something? What meet up?
Ali- Thanks for the warm welcome
Det- I don't know how you cope on such little sleep every night, but your right if you don't stress about it it doesn't seem so bad. Good Luck with your tax
AJP- What days are you guys meeting up? My weeks get busy with kinder drop off etc, Can I let u know?
Shellbell  about the F words, I think the F bomb came out of mu mouth twice too!!
Hi to everyone else, we also have very smelly poos/farts here!! I was starting to think it may have been something I was eating but looks like it may have something to do with the age.
A little woohoo from us. Lewis slept for a 6 hour block last night he has only done that twice before, and it is usually from when I put him down around 8pm to 2pm, But last night he slept for a 4 hour block then he slept from 2.30am to 8.30am!! Horray I got to sleep the whole time too coz Abbey slept in too!! I feel like a new woman!
sorry i forgot to add Welcome Pinny-mum :)
shell pm me your email addy and ill forward an email from op, you may have just missed a post about it!!
d will let you know!! woohoo on the sleep!!!
Hi Pinny-Mum! Woohoo, that's a great sleep! Sooo incredibly jealous :p
Ali, happy anniversary! It was mine & DP's last week - 3 years, although feels like forever (probably because we knew each other for a while before we started our relationship  ) Oh and my brother sleeps with my pregnancy pillow!! He says it's really comfy lol
Rainforest, we have pretty crap day sleeps as well - at least at night L tries to sleep, it's just the breathing that stops him most of the time. But day time is always party time
Shell, my sister is still in remand :wall: She has court every week but doesn't bother applying for bail anymore and the magistrate keeps requesting more medical assessments and it's just a real waste of time. At least it's time coming off her potential (and likely) sentence... but thanks for asking, it's been really stressful!
Tarkine, don't feel bad. I hardly ever have time to get on the net too  Hope you had a good rest while Alex slept.
Kaz, how did last night go? Hopefully J tired himself out and had a good sleep.
Det, eek, good luck with your tax. You're doing so well considering the sleep (or lack of) you get
OP, were Isabel's sleep consistent last night? I hope she's onto a routine too! Yesterday DP suggested getting another computer and thought I could go halves...I had to remind him I don't get paid anymore and I'm using "our" money now! Good thing tax time is coming up, as should get most of it back woohoo!
Mhami, we are using BBH as well. Put the first lot out to dry over the ducts last night, still wet though. Hope it doesn't take too long! How many do you have? I think we have around 25, plus some flannel squares if we run out.
Got the paed today at 4. Bringing my mum along to back me up. Every time we seem to have a medical appointment, Leon miraculously recovers and seems perfect - in fact he's almost always asleep! :wall: I must look like a lunatic and here I go asking for his nose to be operated on...fingers crossed my concerns aren't dismissed.
Hi all - i'm bad BB buddy today! DD1 back at CC so am rapt :D Nearly 2 weeks without a break so I have heaps to catch up on around the place.
I am wondering where my good sleeping baby has gone :( Last night she went down at 7.30, woke at 8.15, 9.30, 1am, 3am at which time I brought her into bed with me and she slept until 7am.
I am up for the meetup - looking forward to it!
ETA - Welcome Pinny-Mum!
Welcome Pinny.
nai - Gl;ad your hosue is getting back to normal, but bummer about the constant night wakes.
Holly - I really hope it goes well for you at the paed. Yeah my fess came with this little blie suction device. It is really good. Worth getting one.
hi Tarkine.
AJP - I am the same. I always feel my posts are really short.
He, he, he Ali - I am a silent birther. I barely make a noise!
Kaz - I hope your little 'un is more settled to day.
Ok - so E did the hugest poo about 10 mins after I posted! She i feeling much better form it.
I am looking forward to the meet up next week, although someone will ahve to confirm the exact details, as I have forgottemn
meg ive emailed everyone regarding next week so we can decide what the go is!!
Well I'll definately be there with both girls so people with toddlers bring them along so Ash has friends to play with (so then I won't have to entertain her ;) )
Holly- Good idea taking your mum, don't let them dismiss you, I know what they can be like, take a galnce and think they know when you are with him all the time! Hope everything with your sister works out, must be such a worry for your family, hopefully she won't be in there for long.
Pinny- Its amazing how a decent block sleep can do you wonders, I was bouncing of walls the other day, Df commented he thinks he prefers when i am tired!
Tarkine- How is he now after the injections?
Det- I need lessons on going from zero to hero in sleep, lol, I find some nights I'm so tired yet I'm still tossing and turning.
Kaz- Today is a new day and hope yours is alot better than yesterday. How did he go overnight?
Hey Shell - he fed twice again overnight at 12:15am and again at 4:45am. I am not used to getting up twice so hoping that doesn't last long. Today has been better though. He is still a bit grumbly going to sleep but nothing like yesterday. Three 1.5 hour sleeps and a period during the middle of the day where he woke every 10-20 mins and cried for his dummy. His cheeks look a little rosy but there's no temp. I am praying it is not teeth already!! What else could it be?
Meg - I'll bet J's poo today was bigger than E's  His covered the entire inside of the nappy (bamboo pre-fold) and was coming out both legs of the cover (one made by Maz). It took forever to clean him up and get him into new clothes and it actually stank out his nursery for a good half hour after I'd taken it to the laundry. It was really hard to little squirt because there wasn't much clean nappy to hold
Holly - How did the Paed go today? I hope your concerns are recognised darl and you get a plan of action to help Leon with his nose.
Nai - that sounds like a rough night! Hope you enjoyed your day today with DD1 in CC.
Tarkine - I knew there was more I wanted to say in my last post! Thanks heaps for the package. I have been slack and lazy and haven't been down the street for ages but hopefully tomorrow when I'm out and about.
I'd love to be coming to the meet up but don't live in Vict :(
Kaz - :D happy to hear that the package made it to you! Go J with the poopie nappy!
Shell - alex was fine after the injections - got a bit warm last night (not really a temperature) - was more clingy than usual - not sure if he was just growth stage.. I still couldn't watch when they gave the needle.
Holly - how'd the dr visit go?
Went out and bought a safe and sound car seat for Alex - just about cried when I returned the capsule.. he'll be starting high school tomorrow (or maybe that's the way it feels!)
