Bec - I am very glad they finally got a clue that it was appendix! But am still baffled why that wasn't looked at just because of the pain being abdominal and appendicitis being rather common. Oh well it's over... just hope I have no complications from it.
Littlebear - sorry to hear about your LO's reflux, glad you found out and that he should be doing much better. I seem to be in more pain with this than I was with the C-sect but then I have come home earlier than I did after the c-section too. Fortunately it was keyhole surgery so not another incision to worry about.
mariahswind - Just curious how long you were in hospital after the csection? I was able to go home (by my choice) on the morning of day 3. All my family & friends said that was too early!
little bear i went home on day 5 (private pt) post c section, i wanted to go earlier but as Bub was small and drowsy and poor feeder the ped suggested i stay the full time.
I was then back in hospital 2 am of day 7 with a nasty nasty infection.
I havent managed to get on the computer up untill now!! Ive really had my work cut out for me. My little girl will be 1 month old on friday, I cant beleive how fast it has gone! She is doing fantastic and getting bigger by the minute. Im still BF and giving 2 top-ups of formula a day. My 2 year old is adjusting well with the new addition but seems to have 10 times more energy, so is constantly running around the house jumping on the furniture and beds Anyway I hope everyones doing well, ill try and do pm's on my next post.
littlebear - day 5 i went home... would have like to have gone earlier but my bp wasn't behaving.... it still wasn't when i left... gp sorted it out. plus i had staples that couldn't come ou til day 5.
i came home on day 6. wanted to stay another day as Hamish was still in special care nursery but decided to come home and get some rest before he came home.
DS did not like his needles at all! It was horrible because I knew what was happening and he had no idea until he felt pain He liked the drink though! He was really sooky and sleepy for the rest of the day but that's it. How did everyone else go?
DS is smiling and chatting so much now, how cute! Hope everyone is well xx
i havent had DS done yet. having trouble getting hold of my gp. if i cant get hold of her by wednesday gonna make an appt with another gp at another clinic.
teresa - Noticed your in adelaide too, you could take your bub to child and youth health, they do immunisations on 2 certain days a week depending on which branch you go to, and you don't need an appointment you can just walk in?
yeah the child and youth health nurse did mention that but i need to see my gp anyway. when DS saw the paediatrician a couple of weeks ago she mentioned i could go to the hospital and have them done too.
well, DS is 3 months old today Can't believe it's gone so fast...
We have a feed play sleep routine, except at night he goes straight to sleep after a feed, not sure how he worked that out but I'm not complaining!
He comes off his medicine for reflux in about a week, so that will be interesting! Still BFing but it's getting a bit hard, he doesn't seem to be full afterwards? Or he is and then about 5 mins later he's hungry again, not sure what's going on there!
How is everyone else?? It's so quiet in here!! If anyone wants to add me to facebook - thisisnotoneword@hotmail.com
Littlebear - I had to stop bf about 2 weeks ago coz DS decided he didn't want me anymore. He kept crying and wouldn't latch and would push me away. Became too hard to keep going so he is now on the bottle full time. Hard decision to make tho. Other then that he is good. I have been walking him to sleep but decided enough is enough and he is now on a routine with bed and nap time. Would love if he slept thru the night but oh well. Fingers crossed it happens soon tho . He is busy smiling and giggling now. So gorgeous.
DS has also been fussing crying and pushing away when i try to feed him and his latch is also not very good anymore, but it's not everytime so i'm trying to persist. It is exhausting though isn't it?? It is hard deciding whether to switch but it's really about what feels best! If things don't improve soon I'll be switching to bottle too.
The giggles and talking are just adorable hey? can't get enough!!
it got to the point with the feeding that i was exhausted to keep trying. it was happening every feed and i didnt know what to do anymore. my supply started to drop off and even if i did express, it still wasnt enough.
