Smithy - Good luck with the move hope it all goes smoothly I can only imagine the packing to do lol since I have been packing up a few rooms and it was enough for me lol I also have a feeling your lil Charlie is having a growth spurt - I had Jayde going so well routine and all and then all of a sudden out of no where she is waking every 4 hours for her bottle (I changed the teets to allow more flow as she was getting the poops with the slow flow for newborn) and I swear she has put on a kg and grown so I am hoping thats all it is, as I finally had her half self settling...
Emma - I have been reading books researching on the net and a friend of mine suggested to me to keep a diary of baby's movements for 5 days and see if there is some patten and work on the patten. So far to me its working and then try all the different methods under the sun to get them to sleep. I also read Save our Sleep and it has some really strict routines but alot of helpful hints so it has definatly helped. My communtiy nurse was also telling me that you should always put a baby to sleep where the baby is going to wake up so that place becomes a "familiar" sleeping spot for them - I have 3 places for Jayde to sleep and am trying to narrow it down to 2 (apart from the pram)
One is her cradle, her swing and the other is her "day" bed (sunggle bed) which she sleeps in during the day I use the swing if she is unsettled or if its early morning.
One thing I have noticed is that the more Jayde sleeps during the day the more she sleeps at night and the better she sleeps. Hope your lil one sleeps well soon for you.
Jayde needs patting to sleep and unless she isnt well or her reflux is playing up she rarely wants me to rock her to sleep. I can sit her in the cot and pat her to sleep and more often now she will put herself back to sleep.
To everyone else hope your all ok
AFM Jayde seems to be getting over her gastro bug and has gone back to her usual pooping patten and is not throwing up no where near as much as she was (and its normal reflux up not anything that looks nasty or makes her cry)
Emma - I have always let my babies self settle. It works pretty well, they get the idea that when they get put down that it is sleep time. We do however have dummies for our kids, so they have that and usually the music on the mobile. If we need to go in we might pat them for a sec, but it has worked with all 3.
Study - When I had my girls the sharing of clothes worked great as well, especially since one was a summer baby and the other spring and the spring baby was slightly bigger, so we got a lot of use out of the clothes we had. I don't think Luka will appreciate being dressed in pink however, so the only things I can recycle are white singlets and bodysuits!
Smithy - I had a look at your picks, I love Charlie's little cheeks, so cute!
K1 - We have used only the cot this time around, but the girls both went into the bassinet and then the cot. We had a little blankie for them, so once they moved they had a familiar smell. I can't remember having any dramas. How are things going for you?
Cole - Glad Jayde is back to normal, yay for normality I say!
to everyone I have missed.
Not much news with us. Had a quiet day, just kindy run at lunchtime. So hard dragging kids around in the rain. I have decided to give up playgroup this term for that reason. Bad enough getting to kindy 3 times a week, let alone adding playgroup as well. I am such a home body in winter!
Been out to a meeting, so should get off of the computer and go and spend some time with my hubby!
Hi girls, sorry I haven't posted in a while, i've gone back to work so it's been pretty hectic. Vaeda refuses to take a bottle so I'm walking up to the daycare every 2.5 hours to feed her. Luckily daycare is just up the street, and my boss is very understanding. Plus wohoo! Excuse to go on a break!
Well if you're on my facebook you'd have noticed that Vaeda is sleeping through! It's been about a week now of 8-10 hours during the night. Perfect timing for going back to work and my boobs have adjusted nicely. Of course she has just had a major growth spurt and also we've been sick, so it might not be permanent...
I've had a cold and also nausea and extreme dizziness, massive headache, feel like crap! Vaeda just has a slightly runny nose and coughs every now and then. Always follows up a cough with a huge smile haha oh well at least she's okay and giving me the rest I need to get better.
Anyway hopefully I'm feeling better by Monday!
Re:settling, I usually just put vaeda in her cot when she looks tired and she'll go to sleep after a few minutes of gurgling. Occasionally she will call out for extra cuddles. I sometimes need cuddles to get to sleep too, so I know where she's coming from.
Vin - sounds like you are adjusting well at being back at work, and yay, who wouldn't love the breaks where you get to go feed and get a bit of a cuddle in hey! Lucky you have a great boss. Hope you and V are feeling better soon, the flu is going around. Luka has a chest cough and a snotty nose, still.
I am feeling a bit average with the impending arrival of my af and I have the worst ! Over it already, best thing about being pregnant is no af.
Anyway ... to everyone, hope you and bubs are well x
Zazaraz - Although if you like me, its like 'dont touch me' lol. One bonus about bf no af for quite some time, it was 6mth with Amelia but only came cause I started comp feeding, this time plan on not doing that at all so it holds out a little longer. Poor little Luka still not well, it really sucks when they get prolonged colds, Amelia has them to, Dr thinks allergies, we use the fess little noses to help her breath.
Vintrar - I was going to leave Chloe with my mum while we went to Ikea (i like ikea) so I decided to try her on a bottle a couple of days prior cause its been a couple of weeks since I gave her one and omg she screamed the house down. Luckily turned out she changed her preference from a no-leak (we use pigeon) to a medium flow, phewww, good thing I tried though before leaving her. Amelia was much the same, when I started trying to give her the avent bottles she would scream, then a mcn/lc told me to try pigeon, she took it instantly, which was good otherwise I dont know what I would have done having to go back to uni, its a 30 min drive. Hope you feel better soon to.
Smithy - My secret?? My awesome parenting skills, haha, just jokes, I think its genetic , their daddy can sleep anywhere anytime. Its good to learn tired signs though, I think its the key. Chloe only spends an hour to hour half awake tops, that includes a feed before she is ready to go back to bed, it might take her another half hour to settle herself to sleep slowly by grunting. We use dummies to.
Colestar - me agree, my bubs sleep better at night the better I get them sleeping good during the day, and one thing I learnt was to put them 'down' where they sleep for their sleep otherwise when they stir the go 'what the beep' where am I. I also discovered when Amelia was older what I did to teach her to self settle is called controlled crying, never heard of it before, just did what my nan and mum taught me. She never really cried thought, it was more of a whinge that would wind down.
AFM we bought Chloe her little comfort blankie yesterday, she loves it, now when I put her down, she rolls over, scrunchies it up and hold it to her face and dozes off nicely, she was flapping her arms around like a fool this past week so I thought it was time to get her one, just like her big sis.
I have been excitedly preparing Amelia's new bedroom , so I have been very busy. Its her second bday in 2 weeks so I want it ready buy then, just have to finish the picture frames and sew the curtains and runners and we should be done. Yeah, will put piccies up when I am done.
aww study your funny but i bet its true hun,you sound like a wonderful mummy and also like you have you s**it together there sweety with a nice routine ..good on you.our girls sond the same though as now charlie has a sooky ,thats her new blanket she snuggles up to when going to sleep and as long as its near her face shes ritecharlie also only stays up for around 1-2 hrs then shes ready for bed again,im also finding that shes now having 3 very good sleeps through the day so thats awsom its giving me some me time yay,and were back to sleeping 6-7hrs at a time through the night (touch wood lol)but she seems to be going really well again .
cole...so happy your little bubba is feeling much better poor little darlin, and yep same here the more charlie sleeps through the day the better my night is ..hope everything else is going ok for you huny .

Hey guys, last night in this house and then we fly out Tuesday. Getting really stressful.
Had a bad day today, I was on our balcony talking with our friend and Munchkin was with us. When we went to go back inside, we realised she had locked us out! And little Nao was inside. We couldn't get back in.
I was meant to be watching her. I felt so awful. It was the longest 20 mins of my life.
I bawled the entire time our friends Dad was breaking in. All I could hear was Naomi crying. It was so awful. She was fine when I picked her up, but I still feel so awful.
So stressful.
I hope everyones going well. (Sorry for the downer post, just had to get it out)
Oh Kamarine how awful!! I would have been so stressed as well!! I have locked us out of the house plenty of times, so we now have an emergency key hidden in our yard. I've used it more than once I can tell you, and your story has outlined it's importance.
I had my first "what about the baby" moment today when I did the grocery shopping myself then had to return the trolley. Shopping solo + baby = hard!
Yeah. In our new place I'm going to do that with a key. The locks used to only lock with keys but they got changed recently. I'd been so careful but the stress of moving must have got to me.
aww tam you poor girl, yes it would have been stressful for you hunny but dont beat yourself up these thing happen to the best of us and yes it would be stress trying to moove and think about everything else is dam stressfulcheeky munchkin pmsl..wishing you all the best with the moove hun ,we go thursday.
vin..yes its hard hey hun sometimes i have to think too what to do with bub we need 8 arms thats for sure.
My poor buba had a bad day yesterday, did some serious grunting after his evening feed and then squeeling and thrashing about as if he was in pain. We rocked him off to sleep and he got through the night. He does seem a bit better this morning although he is still grunting a bit in his sleep. We travelled in the car yesterday for a fair time so I am wondering if he just has some tummy pains from being cramped up too much, I have tried some wind massage strokes but they don't seem to be doing much. I was feeling a bit crappy a few days ago myself so maybe he is just feeling a bit under the weather.
Studymum – those needles are no fun at all, but glad little Chloe is ok now. 6kgs - how fantastic, she is defiantly tipping those baby scales. I could listen to baby chatter all day, I think its sooo funny that they look like the know what they are saying, you gotta wonder whats going on in their heads!
Kazaraz - It took a few days but Max is now happily sleeping in his cot for his day sleeps, we still have him in the bassinet for night sleeps. Haven't tried him in the cot at night yet, but he is getting big so it won't be long and we will have too! We sat a little soft toy dog to the side of the cot and we use it in the bassinet as well so that he had something familiar to see if he wakes. We used the soft toy in the port-a-cot when we stayed away from home a few time and he has been sleeping great.
I am so going to be a homebody in Winter too! - I am laping up this sunshine, cause I can't stand the cold!
Ohh the dreaded AF, I haven’t thought about that coming back yet, I’ve been enjoying the AF break
Vin - Yep, we all need a little cuddle to get to sleep sometimes.
Kamarine – how scary to be locked out and not get to you little one, glad it turned out ok
Hope everyone else is doing well and has a great week.
hello to you all beautiful girls,

Kaz- I can only imagine what it must be like as when I had Jayde the lady in the bed next to me was telling me with every kid you have the more painful your first "real"period is - Mine was nasty so much pain, and I couldnt lay and wait it out I had to go about my daily buisness - hopefully it has since settled down and your feeling MUCH better
Smithy- Charlie is looking SO cute (was having a quick squiz at your blog) her cheeks are simply awesome hehe I wanna pinch them hehe and as for the situation I am in, I managed to find a house for Jayde and I to live in so we are just waiting for the previous tennants to move out in May and we can move in *claps* and FINALLY I can make a nursery/room for my little girl
Karamine - OH dear at least everything was ok in the end. It must have been so scary...I often fear the same thing when I got out to do washing and leave Jayde inside that a gust of wind may lock me out or something...
K1 - Hope he is feeling better its horrible seeing them in pain, they dont sleep right and you feel aweful that you cant figure out what it wrong with them
To everyone else BIG hi hope you, and your bubs are all doing great Cant believe our little ones are pushing 3mths (Jayde will be Saturday)

Hi all, hope everyone's little bubs a behaving :P i can't believe Kaleb is 3 months old on saturday! in the begining when everything went wrong with me from the birth & Kaleb with his colic i honestly thought i'd never be able to handle motherhood. But now i can say yes i can!!!
Hi girls .. just a quick one, was someone in here posting about babies bottles and changing from avent to something else?? A girlfriend is looking to buy new bottles and I was telling her not to get avent as we are having so much trouble with them this time leaking etc. I remember reading someone posting that since changing from avent that bubs is much happier but can't remember where I read it?
Kaz- Jayde HATED them from the start. I went and brought Dr Brown and they are at same price and are FANTASTIC so are MAM (with all of Jaydes feeding problems) these bottles have worked so well for me hth
