Leah, thanks for posting the list! Amelia was 7lb 2oz if you wanted to add that on as well.

Amelia put on 350grams in the last week which is a big deal for me because I had sooo many problems with BF'ing DS and he didn't gain weight for the first 3 months. It's such a relief to know that my boobies do actually work properly!
no problems... makes life easier to remember while we are so busy!

350g is awesome, i was excited at 130g for Z for the same reason, Ava was always so tiny... amazing work.. super (.)(.) lol

    Hi ladies,
Zarava. I had a DD Alice on the 8th. She was 7 pound 14 ounces.

We had a rough day today. Alice didnt sleep well at all during the middle of the day. DH ended up holding her for a couple of hours. She is in her basinette too.
We have had latching problems with her. I never had any problems feeding DD1 and this is quite new to me and I am not enjoying the bf this time round at all. I am also seriously doubting my bf journey this time even after I fed DD1 for 13 months.
DD1 has been full on but is slowly getting used to DD2. She was never a good day sleeper so I am sort of dreading the first few months with a toddler and a newborn. DH has next week off work before going back again and I may feel a little lost for awhile.

Ok enough of me. I look forward to getting to know you all over our journey too.

Eluned - WOW 350g is fantastic!! great job!

JenJams - our little ones have the same birthday Sorry to hear your having some feeding problems. Have you spoken to a lactation consultant? One thing that may be holding you back with the breastfeeding is that you seem a little bit stressed with your DD1 around? maybe see if your hubby can take your DD1 into her room to play or be with her and you find a nice quite spot to feed and see how you go. being a little bit tense is felt by bubs so can prevent them from being relaxed enough to feed. you can tell me to butt out if you want

    Hey ladies

sounds like everyone else is bf...one day of cracked bleeding nipples was enough to remind me why i didnt bf the other two for long either. FF hasn't been a walk in the park mind you with issues getting the right teats and projectile vomiting when she was getting too much too fast..fingers crossed we have it sorted now but.

Milly is a bit confused between days and nites i think, she was up partying until 11 last nite and the nite before but sleeps really well during the day which isnt so bad because it means we get to spend quality time with Lucy...sounds like quiet a few of us have toddlers too!!

well i better go i might get a shower in while both the girls are asleep

OH Leah you can add my real name to the list (Tasha) im thinkin about changing my username seems unfair to be named after only on of my babies when i have 3 lol

Jen - i will add Alice in... i love that name
I found that latching this time round was so much harder at the start because i was so used to DD1 feeding and she basically put herself on.. even though i finished with her MONTHS ago. The MW said the biggest issue women have BFing a 2nd/3rd time etc is that we forget WE need to do everything, they have no idea... my god i felt so stupid that I had ruined my boobs while in hosp by being lazy and not paying attention. (not saying thats your issue etc but thats what i found)

Tasha - oohhh a name change, any ideas yet? I changed mine for the same reason, felt bad being Avasmum when there was no longer JUST HER... hehe the pics of Milly and Lucy on FB are gorgeous!
Hope the FF is sorted now, it's a pain at the start isn't it, doesn't matter if they are newborn or weaned later on it's a matter of finding what works for them, even if it costs the earth in the meantime... silly babies don't they know they should all take ONE type of teat to make life easier for us...
Zara is a night baby too, MW said it's because thats when she was most active during PG and it can take a couple of wks for them to get out of that routine...
Hows Lucy enjoying being a big sister?

Hope everyone else is well and enjoying spending lots of time with the little ones.

Zara has been a bit on and odd today but i think it's the heat, stupid weather i am SOOO over it, doesn't help that Ava is teething and we had a friend over and her DS ran her down with her roller coaster aswell as stole her dummy amongst other things... i am kinda over today!
On top of that our settlement didn't go through as a signature on 1 document wasn't the same as another... WTF surely someone SHOULD have picked that up BEFORE settlement day, we have had nothing but dramas and DP is about ready to crack.. poor thing.

On a happier note i am feeling GREAT, not too tired, a little more motivated than previously (been getting house work etc done and no complaints from DP) and happy with life in general.

Well i best be off... just wondering if anyone is using a dummy yet, not using... whats your ideas on dummies etc?
So far were not using one and am hoping to hold off as long as possible, we got to 8wks with Ava so we can get that far with Z... just interesting to see everyone's points of view.

Hi girlies... i know Jackson was born on the 18th but can I still join here? It's good to be around some familar faces from when we were pg!

Just wanted to add too, for those who are having a bit of ouchies BF, the midwifes gave me some cream called Marcalan Soothing Nipple Care. I recommend that you get some if you have cracked nipples, it's heaven in a tube

Teagz + congrats again the photos of Jackson of fb are so so cute, glad your joining us here i was getting a bit worried when you hadn't had him buy the 15th but i thought you should still come here anyways lol

Leah+ I LOVE DUMMIES unfortunatly Milly is yet to share my passion we have tried 3 different types but she doesnt really love them but Lucy thinks its fun with all these strange dummies to play with hehe Lucy is teething atm so she is pushing the boundries and being a bit of a handful but im sure she will settle down soon.

Dont know what is going on with Milly atm she was awake from 4pm until 11pm again last night im hoping its a growth spurt and she will start sleeping a bit better soon

You are right there Leah. I thought bf this time round was going to be so easy seeing as I had it easy with Amber. Ande yep I really didnt take care of my nipples while in hospital. We are getting there slowly.
We are having a horror night and today. I think Alice is turning into her sister where sleep during the day becomes a novelty. Hopefully we can keep her on the straight and narrow.
In regards to dummies, I didnt want to use one on Alice as Amber has an obsession with hers. However on a couple of really unsettled periods we have tried the dummy and she sucks it a little. Just enough to calm her down. I dont want to rely on it though because I remember when Amber was younger and was sleeping and it fell out and we were up so many times during the night to put it back in.

How is everyone coping with a toddler (if you have one) and a newborn. Its a challenge.....

    Hi Girls

i remember the ouchy nipple from my first 2 bubs but this time i only had it for about 5days ??? no idea why its different this time!! anyway airing out your boobies after a feed will help them heal and good old sunning them for a little bit a couple of times a day can help them too

William has a yukky eye is it only conjunctivitis that you use breast milk on or all yukky eyes?? never had this before so not sure if i should squirt him with my boobies or not lol

Dunnmies - non of my kids have liked them! we tried it with joel when he was under the lights for juandice but didnt want a bar of it. william on the other hand has discovered his thumb lol yesterday while out at a park i had him in a carrier and he wanted a feed to go to sleep but as i put everything down to feed him he found his thumb and went to sleep sucking it lol oh dear never had a thumb sucker before. but i think if it works for bubs and helps releive some crying time and settles bub then dummies can be great

Teagz - congrats again hun Jackson is GORGEOUS i love the pics on FB and personally i would LOVE to have you here
    How you guys going?

Lucylu - hehe dummies can be a life saver, i haven't tried one with Zara yet, we gave in at about 8wks with Ava so see how we go... if i can get away with NOT using one i will but if she needs it she needs it.
Must be something in the air as every little one i know is pushing boundaries at the moment.

Jenjams - whatever works to keep them happy is worth it... if it's a dummy then so be it but i know what you mean about the obsession, we have days with A where she wont give it up.
Hope Alice is behaving for you and sleeping during the day and settling well at night!
Re: the toddler and bubs i am actually finding it a little easier than i thought i would, i think i have a little more motivation than usual and have gotten myself a bit more of a routine... Zara seems to be kinda fitting around Ava which is working great for now.. but i am no naive person and i KNOW my time will come when it will all turn to hell.

Today as an example Ava woke at 7:30 i got her up and made her toast, Z woke for a feed so i fed her while Ava ate then i got them both dressed and ready to go out as we had a birthday party at a play centre.
We waited for a friend to come pick something up then we left, stopped at a shopping centre to find a present, had a walk around, gave Z her next feed and then met everyone at the play centre by 10:45.
Stayed there til 1:15 drove to the fruit & veg shop, went home put A to sleep, fed Z.
A woke grumpy and still tired (poor teething girl) so layed on the couch for 10min with her, she fell back asleep so i had some time on here while the washing was on.
A woke up and helped me hang the washing, put on another load got things out to cook a roast for tea.
Put Roast on, played play-doh with Ava to keep her away from the kitchen, served dinner etc etc... Gave A & Z a bath, fed Z, put Ava to bed, Z woke again fed her again, did the dishes, stacked the dishwasher, put all the toys away, re-made our bed and now on here.... lol (DP was not home, he left for work at 6:30am and is working again tomoz.. 7 days a week ATM)

God and DP thinks i do NOTHING all day... hehe

Sorry so long... had a long day and kinda needed a release... hehe my roast turned out CRAP and DP kept making jokes about it so i cracked.. told him 'i try and do something nice and you bag the s**t out of me' he said i can't take a joke.. told him i can just not being reminded my plans for a gorgeous meal turned to crap every 2min... lol

Leah, sounds like you've been busy busy! Have a rest girly! Put your feet up

Teagz, glad you're going to stick around here!

jenjams, how are you going tonight? I hope Alice is more settled for you.

I'm with you girls on the BF'ing - I almost forgot that I had to do everything to get DD attached, was still used to DS being able to attach himself! I also had bleeding, cracked nipples for the first few days. I was a bit lazy with the attachment, but I got it sorted quickly. I have sensitive nipples as it is and when she is due for a feed they ache which is weird. I don't feel anything in my boobs when I get a let down but instead I get majorly thirsty.

We haven't got a dummy (yet). So far she doesn't seem to need one and I've been putting her on the boob any time she is grizzly or unsettled which has really helped with my supply. I'm open to using one though if she needs it. We got to 4 weeks with DS before we gave him one.

I've been very lucky in that I've had DH home on holidays so he has been helping out big time with DS and the house. DS is being a bit more rowdy and attention seeking. I feel like I'm always telling him off. He loves to talk to and cuddle Amelia but then in the next breath he will try and pull her legs or bop her on the head! He's also pinching me and he thinks time out is a game so I'm at a loss what to do. Whether I just ride it out or try something, don't know what!

Anyway, sorry for the ramble. Hope you lovely mummas are well and getting lots of rest! xox

    Morning Ladies

WooHoo we had a good nights sleep last nite...2x five hour sleeps!!! I feel like a new woman

Eluned+ your DS sounds the same as my DD...she says gentle and will stroke Milly nicely then all of the sudden she will smack her she is getting better but slowly atm she is pinching herself when she does something naughty we are just trying to ignore the bad behaviour and reward her with lots of attention when she is being nice.

Leah+ OMG you sound amazing i wish i had some of your energy and your DH needs a smack around the ears for picking on your dinner!! hes lucky he got any!

harleysgirl+ Milly had a yucky eye in hospy and the midwife just got some saline to wash it out with.

DH goes back to work tomorrow im a bit scared but im sure ill be fine DS comes home from his grandparents today so he should be able to give me a hand until school goes back so its kinda easing me into it lol
We got casts made of Millys hands and feet last week its going to be a long 6 weeks until they are ready, we had nathan and lucys done when lucy was born and im so glad that i have a permenent reminder that they where once so little

Hope everyone is having a great day with there new babys and familys

    me too!! It's so weird!!

Thanks for letting me stick around girlies It's good to be around some familar faces!

i was just popping on because I had a BF question. Is it normal for your nipples to become quite sore? Even during feeding? I'm 99.9999999% sure the attachment is right, and I'm putting it down to the fact that I've never had someone suck on my nipples 2-3 hourly, but I just wanted to check. The first couple of sucks are quite painful, but once he settles in it's ok. They aren't cracked or anything, or even red for that matter & my nipple is come out the same shape as it went in... maybe super sensitive is better word than sore... This BF stuff is confusing!

As for the dummy... Jackson will take one, he did at the hossy, but it doesn't last very long - probaboly because nothing comes out of it XD - and he spits it back out

So far since we've been home we've had great nights, Jackson has slept through and needed waking for feed times which is great. At the hospital he was partying til 3am in the morning before he'd settle down. I spent the first day home warning DH of what he was in for and he ended up being a little angel and made a liar out of me!

Sorry about the selfish post! I shall be back shortly to do persies! Hope everyone is enjoying their babies!

    Mwah! xx

    Hi Ladies,

Well here I am, taken a little while to come back...had a dramatic couple of weeks!

Little Henry was born on the 11th at 6:01pm, after 11.5 hours of labour (10 of which I managed to do with only a tens machine and a bath), ended in his heart rate plummetting and having to have an emergency c-section...scariest part of my life. He came out all perfect except for a raspy breath which meant he had to go to special care and because of the stress of the labour he'd used up all his reserves and had really low blood sugar levels.

A few days in special care (with me feeding colostrum like crazy and being milked by the midwives to get even more) he came out and joined me in my room which was great.

I ended up having an oversupply of milk (I think cause I was being pumped like crazy for colostrum before my milk came in) and on top of really damaged nipples I also have mastitis!!! All of which I only discovered after I came home and ***** hit the fan a few days later and I headed back to the lactation consultants. I should have had a fever from the mastitis but the pain killers from the c-section masked it!

I am on anti-biotics and have nipple shields which makes feeding so much better and I think me and my little man are becoming a good little team.

All the previous drama's aside, I am recovering well from the c-section and it's great watching the belly get smaller instead of bigger I am besotted with my little man and is it wrong to be sad already that he's growing up too quick???

Being a first time mum I am not really sure where I stand with dummies, DH would rather never to go there but knows we might have to, though we've caught Henry's thumb in his mouth a couple of times so we may be heading down that road sooner rather than later because I think it's much hard to break a dummy habit than a thumb sucking one, but will see how we go.

OK I think I have rambled on enough, I am heading upstairs for a nap and will catch up on personals with you all later.

    xxx

Teagz, sounds like the BF'ing is going well. Your nipples should become less sensitive in the next couple of weeks. Mine were like that at first both with DS and DD.

Hummingbird, sounds like you've had an eventful few days! I hope your recovery is quick and that the mastitis clears up soon.

Lucylu - Good luck with DH going back to work, i didnt find it as scary as i thought when hubby went back last week. you will be fine

Teagz - Yep with my first 2 i spent about 4wks with ouchy nipples, everytime they attached i would have to breath like having a contraction lol Should ease up soon for you. For some really odd reason i havent got it this time?? maybe is coz its not even a yr since i stopped feeding lacey.

Hummingbird - HUGS hope its all on an up for you.

Hi all been a full on 2 weeks for us!! 18 MONTH age gap is hard work!! especially as DD1 does not walk yet and I had a cs, DH worked 1 day last week and goes back to work on wed!!!!! AHHHHHHH
I am also Tandem feeding so thats hard work and tiring!!!!!!!!!
DS2 has a lot of wind pain the last few nights have been up all night till 4 or 5 am with him!!!! Tryed infants friend and tonight trying Braurs colic relief fingers crossed it works.
He lost a lot of weight in hospital and put on small amounts the next 2 days, 2 days after coming home MCHN came and he put on a small amount but she was not concerned so hopefully he has put on much more by time we get wg again this fri.

harleysgirl breastmilk for any yucky eyes can help.

Eluned i found same BF a newborn again and having to do all for them is so hard to remember that they dont attach self LOL

Hummingbird hope the boobies settle down for you soon, sounds like you had a tough time!!

Teagz sensitive sore nipples at start is normal as you are not used to a mini vacum cleaner sucking on them so often. It will get eaiser

lucylu Hope you find it ok with DH back at work!

~ Zarava Flutterby ~ you are doing well to get out with 2 kids let alone cook dinner!!! So tell DH to pull his head in!!!

Daintree dream woo hoo on Annabelle's NG tube coming out thats fantastic news!!

its not so hard with dh going back to work...Lucy is better behaved lol don't know if thats because its more "normal" kwim.

feeb+ got fingers crossed for a good gain and i think your amazing bfing both your DS's what a champ

Hummingbird+ sounds like you had a bumpy start but things can only get better from here and Im already sad that Milly is growing too quickly aswell

were having wind issues Milly was really unsettled last night and i could tell she was in pain but know matter how much i tried she wouldnt burp so im thinking of a trip to the chemist for something today poor DH ended up on the lounge because he has had to go to work today so he needed some sleep.
