Leah... jackson has been the same.. except instead of cutting down on day naps he's cut his night sleeps O.O; He's been sucking furiously on his hands and oh my god the dribble!? Can they get teeth this early?
GL with the expressing... i tried to con DH into feeding Jackson but he doesn't see the point when I can do it "better than a bottle" COP OUT! :P
Oooh Amelia has been doing the fist suck as well and there is so much drool! I hope she is not teething yet!
We have a weigh-in on Monday with the CHN for her 3 month check. It's gone sooo fast. We are doing well, although she has decided to add back in another feed at 1am so I've been a bit tired! But hey it's not going to last forever. Last night got lots of cutesie little smiles at 3am in the dark after he feed..hehe
i hate storming into jacksons room at 6 in the morning after a hoooorrible night, to be greeted by a huge grin how's that for a guilt trip? :P
toothy-pegs can bite me! They've ruined my beautiful sleeping thru the night i had going on XD Knew it was going to come to a screeching halt eventually tho... just not so soon!
Caroline has been sucking her fist like there's no tomorrow! hopefully no teething just yet. last two nights she's slept from 8ish til 7 - 7.30am! the previous week or two before that she was up at 2.30am for a feed so the last two nights have been a nice relief!
Seb has started with the hand chewing and and getting frustrated when he cant find something to chew on as well, and talk about a dribble machine! Between cleaning up spewed on clothes (reflux) and drool its never ending He still doesnt "sleep through" but on good nights when the reflux isnt bad he will sleep from 7:30-1:30 then again till 5 then 8....could be worse...DD was
Darcey is also sucking fist. I bought a really soft teether, put it in the fridge, and I've held it for her, but she doesn't bite down on it at all, just kinda sucks at it. Those 17 thousand bibs that we were given have come in handy for drool patrol. She doesn't wear them, they are always in my hand,r eady to mop up.
Apparently, I had my first two teeth at 4 months old , hopefully hers will come a little later.
Zara is drooling aswell, i HOPE she's nothing like her big sister. Ava's teeth started giving her grief at 5mths and she didn't get her first tooth until 9mths.
Ava is asctually teething REALLY badly ATM, 1 of her top molars has cut and is half way down, the other is nearly cutting and her bottom 2 are sooo swollen they can't be far off.
Before bed i gave her brauers, nurofen and gel and she still woke 2hrs later sooking and spent the night in our bed, tossing and turning and sooking.
Ava refuses any teething aids.. no cold face washers, no teething rings.. it's hell for her, she constantly has her dummy when teething as thats all she will take.
For anyone interested we use the Brauers natural teething relief, NUROFEN instead of panadol for teething as it's an anti-inflamatory and works better, i use a gel called ORA-SED gel.. it's in the adult section but works a TREAT, numbs the gums really well.
Well we spent the w/end at the house and looks like we will be moving in in 3-4wks the fridge is awesome and Ava loves it out there, she runs amock and didn't want to come home.
Zara is still quite grizzly, was awake for near on 5hrs straight last night, as soon as she laid down was awake and sooking again, in the end i had both Ava and Zara screaming on my knee then they started gooing and gaaing at each other.
The last 2 nights she has actually fed at about 8pm then she slept til 4 then last night she made it to 6am.. i think she only woke cos Ava was in our bed sooking in her sleep.
I think she is NEARLY out of some of her 000 clothes, am hoping she fits into Ava's cutest little pumpkin patch jacket... is a really thick jacket.. so adorable.
She is so giggly and smiley when she's not being a PITA, very much like her big sister.
If anyone is friends with me on FB check out my profile pic, i LOVE it, it's of Zara's eye, i made the rest of the pic black & white and you can see how blue they are, there are also new pics of Zara and Ava at the house.
Well best be off.. MG today and then cleaning and start doing some packing..
Zarava - the new place sounds great with lots of space. where are you guys moving to?
I finally got to join a mothers group yesterday. the timing isn't great at 1.30pm which is right when Caroline usually sleeps or feeds. I managed to get her to sleep about 30 minutes before we left and when we got there I started feeding her but after 10 minutes she started cracking it. I missed half of the introductions and was flustered through my own. she ended up falling asleep on my shoulder for awhile which was great but I had to put her down so i could pee and she won't stay asleep so was awake again after that but did end up feeding properly. She was finally smiley and chatty right as I had to rush off to go pick my son up. Am hoping to get a chance to connect better with some of the mums next week. There are few older mum's like me who seem to be going through similar things as me. The other half are really young girls who all seem to already know each other (possibly at high school together?). the rest of the day was a write off for Caroline with barely any sleep. She just won't sleep when we go out which means I end up not bothering half the time which is probably not helping.
Hope everyone is well and those of you in states that are now freezing are staying warm brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
illeyena hope you make some great friends in your mothers group!! Our group is great and still catch up weekly, I am first to have my 2nd child but 5 others are preg varying from 33 weeks to 12 weeks!
~ Zarava Flutterby ~ I hear you on drool and hand sucking!! DS1 started all this at 3 months but didn't get any teeth till 11 months, so will be interesting to see when DS2 gets teeth.
petalpetal between drool and spew I seem to be constantly moping up DS2 clothes or mine!
Teagz it is so hard to be cranky when they are grinning isn't it!!
As for us MCHN appt yesterday DS2 was 6180 grams up 780 grams in a month!!!! We are still BF (so is DS1). DS1 will generally sleep in bassinet during day but it seems that as soon as he wakes at midnight or later he only wants to sleep with mummy!! GRRR I am so sore being stuck in 1 spot!! He is a cheecky monkey as he grabs doona and pulls it up no matter how far away I have it from him!! and he wriggles so much he ends up under doona and freaks me out big time!!!!!!!!!
Just read back but now Maddie is awake from her afternoon nap....I put her in her swing and she slept for half an hour, I was too lazy to take her for a walk....once a day is enough I reckon and plus i need to get my money's worth out of the swing before she outgrows it.....lol.
Hi everyone.... have no diea what is up with Z today, she's been quiet spewy, unsettled and just a PITA ontop of the fact Ava is teething and driving me NUTS!
Got A weighed today and she's finally growing but while there i asked if we could pop Z on the scales for a minute.. 5.5kg, she is already half of Ava's weight and is 5wks ahead compared to what A ever weighed... lol
Well better get checking on here and try and have 5min to myself before she's up again...
Petal thanks for the info on wonder weeks, I hadnt heard of them before but another friend mentioned it to me as well. Seems Maddie's having a wonder month....lol. She is still really fussy on her bottle and wont drink much more than 100mls at each feed so I have had to try and put in an extra feed in the afternoon. She is still waking about 4-4.30am for a feed after her 11pm feed. She was then waking at 5.30-6am after this feed which was driving me crazy but this morning she slept till 7am....wuhoo. I was really surprised cause she had a lot of day time sleep yesterday, 4.5hrs so i was worried she would be awake in the night but she wasnt , yay! Maddie has been really good at going to sleep at 7pm every night for the last week, infact she starts crying around 6-6.30 cause she is tired, and I just put her in her cot with her dummy and she goes off to sleep whereas before we had to spend an hour to an hour and half to get her to sleep, so this is a huge improvement. Its so nice to have dinner with DH and a relax before getting into bed early.
How did Darcy go for her week 12?
Teaz has Jackson settled down a bit or is it really teeth?
Jenjams...so sorry to hear about your little ones catnaps. I am lucky that Maddie has a 2-3 hour sleep everyday, sometimes she wakes up after an hour but I go in and resettle her and most of the time she will go back to sleep, sometimes she just wont but that is more the exception than the rule, thank goodness.
Zarava love your pics on FB esp the one of Zara's eye. The easter pics were cute too. Poor Ava teething, how old is she?
Illey, glad you found a good MG, I hope Caroline is a bit more settled for you next week.
We are off to MG this afternoon and I need to finish packing cause Maddie and I are off to Adelaide tomorrow for 2 weeks, wuhoo. We are having her christened there on Anzac day.
Maddies latest trick is sticking her fingers in her mouth but so far down her throat that she gags on them, then she starts crying. I try giving her dummy but she knocks it out and puts her fingers in again, gags and crys....lol.
Anyway I better get myself dressed so we can go for our morning walk.
