Hi Quegsley - I know poor me, not happy Jan! I could have a maximum 12 months off (unpaid) if I wanted it, but we are living on the edge financially and we'd be in a bit of strife if I didn't go back to work after the BB finishes. I used to work full time as a staff scheduler, but I only intend on going back part-time. BUT interestingly enough, my boss has set up a meeting with me next week to organise things for me coming back to work, and she asked me to think about what I would like to do when I return...a bit strange as I thought my job would be waiting for me! So I'll have to see what that's all about!

I can't believe how fast these 4 months at home have already gone, and how much my little girl is growing up. 6 months to 12 months will see a huge leap in her developmental growth and I feel a bit sick thinking that I may miss one of her 'firsts' when I'm at work. Plus the thought of other people looking after her (child care centre) eeerks me!

But on the bright side - Tilly discovered her left knee in the bath yesterday and apparently it is the best thing in the world that she has ever played with! She won't leave it alone! I tried to show her that she in fact has a right knee as well but she wouldn't have a bar of that!

    Hi girls,

Hi Blujooce & Matilda, welcome to our group, I'm looking forward to getting to know you. Hopefully when you return to work that it is your old position you are returning to.

    Dusty, how are you going?

Grrrr, I was planning on a long post but with 3 kids around I've been interrupted. I'll pop back tomorrow

I'm doing heaps better thanks Leigh, not sure if its the drugs or just knowing what is going on (probably a combination).

Arrrrrhhh its so wet here! The washing pile is building up but its too damp to consider trying to dry it. Not not normal for Canberra at all

Blujooce that is so cute that TIlly has found one knee . Commiserations on having to go back to work. After 5 years TTC I've built up enough leave to be able to take quite a bit of time off. One of the only benefits ironically. I hope DD settles in well to her daycare.

Sorry I’ve been MIA ladies, even with only 1 baby I have trouble finding time to post.

Dusty – excellent to hear that you’re feeling better, you’ve had a tough few months. Freya will be out of her brace before you know it, our little babies are growing so quickly.

Quegsley – Great to hear you’re settled in your new house. I just stumbled across one of the balancing bikes you mentioned, they look awesome, I wish Hudson was old enough for one. Anyway if you haven’t already purchased one oomookids (just google for the website) has a sale on theirs at the moment.. the ‘F1’ one looks like it would go super fast for Rex. They also have free delivery.

Welcome Blujooce & Matilda, I am unfortunately returning to work part time after Christmas too. I’m willing the next few months till February to go very very slowly. We’ve been fortunate enough to get H into a really good childcare centre but it still doesn’t ease the sick feeling in my tummy about leaving him.

Hi to JLK, Leigh, Jodi & Amy – hope you’re all well.

AFM – Hudson is fantastic, growing beautifully and learning so quickly. He is so much fun.

Hey Rach, thanks for the tip - those bikes look great. Will order one today!

I'm sure H and Tilly will be just fine at daycare. All the kids that I know that go regularly love it, even if it is a bit of a struggle at the start. It's great social interaction for them, and it's not like they'll be there 5 days a week. We've always juggled our shifts so that someone is always at home. That has it's drawbacks too, though, as we don't get as much time together as a family because one of us is usually at work! Also, daycare isn't really an option for us being 24/7 shiftworkers. Otherwise, we would have used it too.

Blujooce, that's funny about Tilly's knee. Ted has just found his feet - so cute!

    Hi to everyone else

Welcome to the new additions I hope I've updated the list right.

how cute on all the babies finding different body parts Ambah loves her fist. She goes cross eyed looking at them. She can now grab things, and is learning to try and put it in her mouth now. The other day I was eating a bikkie, and she grabbed my hand and shoved it in her arm. She really wanted that bikkie! But the bikkie was too big for her mouth hahahaha!

bummer about going back to work girls Time goes too quick, doesn't it.
Sorry for the lack of personals, got some muffins and gingerbread cookies in the oven, which are just about cooked.

Quegsley – glad you found the website handy. I’m a mad online shopper.. I think it could be becoming a problem actually LOL. We have no choice but to do day care, I need to go back to work to help pay the mortgage and we have absolutely no family in Brisbane to help out. H will be ok, I just wish he was a little older. The ladies who work in the nursery at the centre are awesome, so so obvious that they just LOVE children.

Amy AKA Cupcake – I thought be a had another new member for the minute, it’s a very cute name. I didn’t realise that was how you came up with Ammaki either, very clever. Hope you had a great time in Newcastle. I can’t wait to take H swimming too, hoping to start some lessons next month and my folks have a pool so he’ll be in there at Christmas for sure.

Jodi – yum gingerbread men, I haven’t had them for so long.

Sooo Hudson learnt to roll from back to belly today, well he did it once yesterday and I missed it (I left the room for 30 seconds) but he did it so many times this afternoon. I was so ridiculously excited!!! Funny thing is though he’s only rolled from belly to back a handful of times, isn’t that the easier one to do?

Is anyone elses’ bubs starting to teeth? Poor H is having a bit of a hard time at the moment, none have come through though.

    Hi Girls,

I hope you and your bub's are all well.

Lexie is 5 months old today can you believe? The 5 months has gone sooo fast, before we know it they will all be one. I'm still breastfeeding but part formula feeding now too. With DH's new job he leaves home at 7am and isn't getting home until after 6:30pm so I am having to do the school run with all the kids in tow, not fun when it is raining, also that is why I have had to add more formula feeds into Lexie's feeding routine. So now I am down to 3 breastfeeds per day and the rest formula. I'm still happy that at least she is getting 3 feeds per day.

Rach, Lexie is rolling back to belly as well. She still hasn't mastered belly to back yet. Lexie still doesn't like too much tummy time.

I can feel a tooth right under Lexie's bottom left gum and she is dribbling like crazy and chewing on anything she can get her hands on.

Jodi, your professional photos on fb were beautiful. I still haven't had any done since we've had Lexie. Were they expensive?

Gotta go, dinner is almost ready, sorry for the lack of personals!!

    Morning ladies!!

Im not sure if L is teething but she sure is drooling a lot these days, ive only just got on top of the rash she gets from wiping her drool all up her cheek. Good times haha.

Not long until Chrissy ladies!! Im heading off shortly to print some pics to send people for Chrissy cards & i bought magnets off ebay so everyone can marvel at my little beauty on their fridges hahaha

We're still fully breastfeeding here, not sure for how much longer. See how we go. I put a little bit of ice into this thing i bought from Big W thats helps introduce food to bubs and she loved. Do you all know when youll start to introduce foods? I have no idea where to start or what to try first...

wow, 5 months old already!! Where is your dh working now Leigh?
And yeah, the pics were quite expensive With all the girls, I've had professional pics done at 3 months and they're all framed in the same frame, and the same size all hanging on one wall next to each other. So I really wanted to get them done again.

amy - I get my invites, chrissy cards etc done by a girl from here, and they should arrive next week. She's done a fantastic job on them. Have you put pics up of yours on fb? I've seen your scrapbooking pics, well done!

We're still fully breastfeeding here as well. No plans to stop any time soon. Ambah loves the boob too much lol. Amy - those mesh things are fantastic when they start on solids too! Especially in summer, put some fruit in them, half freeze them and away they go. They get fed, and it's great for teething
As for solids, just let them guide you. She will let you know when she's ready. DD1 started solids at 5 months, DD2 was 8 months. When you think she's ready, try her on something mushy, and if she spits it back out straight away (tongue reflex) then she's not ready. First foods would include anything that can be mushed up (fruit, vegies), plain bikkies are good too. You can freeze breast milk even and put it in that mesh thing.

Thanks for that Jodi! I really was lost on what to start her on and when she'd be ready, i gave her a little bit of ice in the net thing the other day as it was really hot and she loved sucking on it!

Jodi, he's working at the casino. 5 wks full time training of 8.30am - 6pm and then shift work after the 5 wks training is up. Which means he'll probably be working Christmas day. We won't find out until he gets his roster.

I started both DD1 and DD2 on solids after 6months so I will try Lexie then as well but won't push her if she's not ready.

Hudson is still fully breastfed, I plan to keep going as long as a I can but not sure how much going back to work will affect this. I hope to express while at work and I’ve got a good stockpile of frozen milk in the deep freeze.

Amy – I wasn’t sure how to introduce solids either, I’m going to try and find one of the things you bought from Big W – sounds cool.

Jodi – your advice on introducing solids was great, thanks it makes it all a little less daunting. Going off his tongue reflex he’s not ready but he does stare us down while we’re eating – funny. I want to try and have H started on solids by the time he starts day care so plan to start around Xmas/Early Jan, the centre he’s going to has an in house cook & provides all their meals (except milk).

Leigh – the last 5 months have gone so quickly, looking at your sig pic Lexie has grown so much! Gorgeous little thing. How did Lexie go with her 4 months vaccinations? H had his on Monday and has been unsettled since, such a pain cause he was sleeping so well beforehand. Also his poo’s have been all liquid and staining all his beautiful cloth nappies. I need lots of sunshine to get the stains out. Because of the whooping cough outbreak my GP also said to bring him back at the beginning of Jan (2 weeks early) for his 6 month shots.

Hi to all the other mummas!

My sister and her newborn bub are coming to stay with us tomorrow - YAY! Can't wait for lots of cuddles, wonder if it will make me clucky again..
I'm keen to start trying again early next year but still waiting for my period to come back. Probably won't happen till I stop feedingI guess?

Rach, I got AF back when Lexie was 2mths old and I was fully breastfeeding at the time. I've had 3 AF's since & all have been on time, except now, she's a week late. Least having my tubes tied I know I'm not pregnant. Fingers crossed she doesn't take too long to come so you can start ttc again.
