HI Ladies! I've been MIA for quite awhile. Life's been so busy with two kids I have not had any time for BB (all my internet time goes to FB). I wanted to come by though and see how everyone is doing.
Were doing well. Paige is an absolute joy. She's so smiley and giggly and it makes us so happy. She got weighed and measured the other day and we were told she was in the 90th percentile for height, weight, and head, but I find that hard to believe as she is the smallest of her peers. She's very long and lean (taking after daddy thankfully). I think she was 26inches and 16.5lbs?
We are still exclusively breastfeeding. She seemed eager to eat what we are so we tried a few spoonfuls of a few things this past week but she just gagged and spit it all out again so it seems she's not quite ready yet. She got her first two teeth this week-end too which meant some pretty fussy nights, but she's now back to a happy contented little girl.
She was sleeping really well (12 hours without waking) but we're waking up every 1-2 hours right now and I'm feeling very sleep deprived. She's lucky she's so cute, I can forgive her for anything.
Her brother adores her and is a huge help, we're feeling really blessed.
I'm going to try to pop by more often as I would love to read how everyone is getting on (I'll have to find the last thread to catch up a bit). Hope everone is doing well!
Twin I missed your post. Good to hear from you. Sounds like Paige is doing well. Lexie still doesn't have any teeth but she is dribbling sooo much & chewing on absolutely everything.
wow the time has flown, my bubba is six months old already, kinda feel a little sad cos she is possibly my last bubba. she is sitting up and we have just started solids properly.
Cupcake - we did swimming lessons with DS at 6 months but are going to wait until DD is older as we found lessons were a waste of money at such a young age. We just go to the pool on our own to play.
Jlk - I'm the same. This is def my last baby and it seems to be going by too fast. Paige is sitting, and has teeth, and rolls across the living room. Slow down alreaady! She's not interested in solids yet though.
leigh - won't be long before those teeth come through. I kind of wish Paige's hadn't, I miss the toothlees grin (though the 2 teethed one is super cute too) and it hurts a lot more now when she bites while nursing.
We're around water all the time so i thinks its a good idea for us to start soon, they said its more drowning prevention this early. See how we go =)
Miss L must be teething pretty bad, she's been such a mummy's girl lately, very clingy, i secretly love it hehe shhh. I feel bad for DP tho because when he holds her she cries for me...
I'd love to get DD into swimming now the harness is off. I've bought the swim pants just got to find the time to head to the local pool. She loves the bath.
Cupcake I get what you mean about secretly loving the clinginess . Everytime DD wants me my heart just melts.
Wow Paige is sitting that is awesome! No solids here yet either. I'm going to push her out until I'm sure she is really ready. TBH I find the whole idea a bit threatening after a lovely BFing relationship. I'm sick of unhelpful advice IRL about getting her started. She has all her life to eat food, but only a short time on mummy's milk.
Jodi you've had a name change, what is the significance of your new name?
Sorry I've been so slack. I read all your posts but don't often get on my computer and I'm too lazy to tap out on the phone LOL.
DD is also going through a 1-2 hour waking overnight, luckily I get a sleep in most mornings as DH takes the shift and I just wake to feed and go back to bed. Having one child certainly helps get us through this time! She is such an active bub, never stops when she is awake and I think this is part of the problem at night as she is waking herself up with this newfound freedom.
I just love this age though. Can we bottle them now, what do you think?
xx
DD never really took to a bottle, she'll drink EBM from a sippy cup but no bottle. She is also only waking once during the night which im so grateful for!! I think she has a bit of a sweet tooth, LOVES all her fruit foods and only a few savoury lol.
Also, Jodi has asked me to let you all know she's moved on from BB for now.
I was wondering what happened to Jodi & why she hadn't been around lately.
Twin, I am enjoying lexie's toothless grin. One of my friends has a 10 mtg old who still doesn't have a tooth, I keep telling her to enjoy the toothless smiles.
Cupcake, Lexie loves swimming but I need to put DD2 in lessons before lexie. DD1 still does lessons but she's pretty much right to swim on her own now so once this term is over we will pull her out & start DD2, so that will be after the Easter holidays. I've just forked out $221 for this term for DD1.
Dusty, lexie still isn't sitting either but both DD1 & 2 didn't sit on their own til 8mths so im thinking lexie will be the same but coz she's my last baby I don't care if she doesn't do it for a while, I want her to stay my baby that little bit longer.
LOL oh my mistake Dusty hahahaha. Ive been having a lot of blonde moments lately!
I got mine a few weeks after putting the request in, i paid to have it express posted tho. They didnt even put DPs occupation on it tho which i was annoyed about, how hard is it to fill in one more square...seriously? Butcher. Not that hard to type lol it was on the form! Rant over hehe
Dusty she is on my FB if you wanted to add her
Laila sits well for a little while then falls to the side or back hehe, sometimes she tries to go forwards onto her knees but just face plants
No sitting up or teeth here yet. Lots of rolling though. Still trying solids every so often, but they're not going down well yet.
Yes Dusty, isn't it a gorgeous age? Just adorable!
Cupcake (feels funny calling you that!), we often take both DS's to the pool for a play. DS1 is starting lessons this year and he's almost 3. Like Twin Sis, we tried earlier, but he wasn't into it.
Hope you are all well. How fast is the time going??!!!
I keep going to type Ammaki when I am writing something to you cupcake lol. They should've put your DP's occupation on the birth certificate. I am going to have to ring births, deaths and marriages and chase up Lexie's.
My little girl is 7 mths on Sunday.....where has the past 7 months gone? I'm clucky for another bub but having my tubes tied and 3 very complicated caesars its not going to happen lol, although when I have Lexie and DD2 screaming at the same time I sit and think 3 kids if definitely enough for me.
Hi ladies, I know nice of me to finally drop in hey.. I have lurked a little but just no time to post. I’ve taken up sewing so every spare second has been spent doing that!
It was my bubba’s first day at day care without me today, I cried before I even said goodbye and then spent the next hour crying!! It was horrible.
I don’t start work for 2 weeks so I can just ease him in slowly. Hope it goes well, the ladies are great with him and all the other babies.
How are all the other bubba’s going?
H is doing great, pulling himself up into crawling position and rocking back and forth. He hasn’t worked out the hands and legs part yet but still manages to get around great by rolling.. too great actually cause he’s starting to get very inquisitive about all the things he can’t have.
No teeth for us yet, how about everyone else?
I’m also trying to wean him off breastfeeding for his day feeds now that I’m going back to work... it’s harder than I thought. Any tips? I’m worried if I let my boobs stay full for too long that my mastitis will flare up again, it’s also very painful!
Gotta go – it’s almost time to pick up my baby. YAY!
