RumpledElf, the Big W sale ends on Wednesday Aug 11 so your partner will hopefully make it on time. That is ridiculous what they make you buy online.
Alexsandra, My fingers are crossed that everything turns out ok with Chloe's heart. It must be heart breaking for you xxx.
I have to take Lexie for a scan on her hips on Friday to make sure they're not dislocated. She was born breech and apparently it is compulsory for all breech bubs to have the scan as they are more prone to having hip dysplasia. I'm crossing my fingers that everything will be ok. If she does she will need to wear a harness to correct the dislocation.
Hi to everyone else, sorry I don't have a lot of time, got to start cooking dinner. Will try and pop back in later.
-
alex- im sure she'll be fine hun, i no a few people with heart issues like that and the most any of them are effected is having to visit the specialist to be checked every now and then.
-
and i'm back
Leigh: i hope lexie is ok and doesn't have hip dysplasia. my cousins little girl had it (and she was a head first-er) and they didn't pick it up soon enough so she ended up being in plaster. but she's 110% fine now. - she can run faster then me (when UTD any way lol) at age 3!
AFM: finely got vic to sleep. DJ is still crawling around and im just trying to clam down! arg. its been 'one of THOSE days' today. Vic is going well other then the super close feeds over the last 24hrs. but it could be worse. the only other thing thats got me all grumpy is my dear  BIL and SIL are expecting their first baby...the EDD is the day before DJ's 2nd birthday :wall: and i know what is expected of me. to be all nice and happy but TBH i CBF'd! im ticked about the card they gave us for vics birth, not even enough respect for DH or I to address it to us! i'm sorry but i birthed vic into this world (heck he was almost a home birth!) and i think i've earnt the right to be respected. and its also made me really realise that i want another baby :o yes, vic is a month old and i've told DH in two years i'd like another baby (so vic would be 2 and DH 3) DH has said its an "if" not a "no" which is a plus and he's warming to the idea of three. i just really, really hope i dont need to talk to MIL about this. i'm though with being nice im too tired to play games with them. they're 8 years older then me but keep the games going.
hope every one is having a good night!
-
Alex - That would be worrying for you  Heart issues are so common there's nothing you could have done while bub was cooking to cause that kind of issue so you don't have anything to feel guilty about - it sounds like it is one of the more minor issues though which is good news so I hope you get some more reassurance from Docs and her procedure goes well.
Leigh - The couple opp me in hospy with DD1 had bub with hip dysp. She was breach CSect so they checked bub straight away so they already had him in the harness in hospy! They prob did check Lexie already in hospy too so here's hoping the X-ray turns out to be just a precaution and she doesn't have to have the harness.
Danst - your SIL and BIL never seem to let up do they - pfft. Ha Ha, funny that, we were always planning on 3, but then thought, 2 prob enough esp if one of each, but since I've got 2 gorgeous girls am thinking would like to go back and try for a boy (not that we'd mind another girl), but for my sanity I think won't be for at LEAST 2, 3 maybe even 4 years as I just found it SOOOO hard being so sick when pregnant and DD1 not even crawling and walking or able to understand that I needed to lie down on the floor, and is super tiring now with 2 littlies isn't it, I'm so exhausted.
Must run, DH just got home and I barely see him aTM so BBL
Oh my name is Sarah TheGreat on Facebook if anyone wants to add me (you'll know me by my fan of BBH & Mazalicious as theres more than one of us apparently) I don't know how to add anyone as am a bit Facebook retaraded.
-
sas: lol! thats funny. i've always wanted 4 (or more  ) but DH said only 2. then i wore him down (0r maybe up lol) to three. after vic he swore black and blue no more and less it was an (another) oppsie baby. but now he's warmed to the idea. he agrees that three sounds nice. plus we're looking at moving out into the country in the next two years - so a four bedder house (as apposed to our current 2.5 (the 3rd bedroom is half a room o_0 ) i'd giggle if we ended up in the same belly buddies group again!
AFM: i just went though all my pre-preg clothes :( i have two garbo bags almost FULL (as in just able to tie them up) of clothes. makes me rather depressed that my body has changed *that* much post baby. i still had some size 10 things - but they would have stopped fitting me like 5 years ago! but the rest things like size 14 and some 16s dont fit any longer. yep its 4 weeks post-baby but i still feel cruddy. i have *one* pair of non-matenity jeans that fit *one* that semi fit and apair of 3/4s that fit.the rest of my pants dont do up over my flabby belly :( i'd love to go join a gym but dont have the $$ - plus with the b/f i wouldn't be able to leave vic - he's a non-dummier and i'm 'it' plus DH works nights so that makes it harder. i'm trying to eat better (but will get stuck into it on monday the 9th of july lol). any one else feeling like this? i think i should start getting up before 8am too - get more out of the day and pray nicer weather heads our way so i can get out and start walking *alot* more.
I better go and finish putting the clothes into the garbo bags.
hope every one is having a good night!
-
Dansta, you sound like me, none of my clothes fit either. I'd love to join a gym or weight watchers too but my DH works nights too and Lexie doesn't take a dummy either. I'm praying the weight will just fall off me lol wishful thinking. Lexie is our number 3 bub and was a whoopsie too. We've got 3 girls and I got my tubes tied during my c/s so no more kiddies for me. I would actually love another but my uterus wouldn't handle another pregnancy so I have to be happy with 3, as much as DH would love a boy, our luck we'd get another girl anyway.
Sorry such a short post, Lexie wants to feed........again!
-
dansta: im having issues post baby weight as well. Nothing i owned pre baby fits! i have just gone out and bought some jeans that will fit and a pair of pants. other than that i have nothing, am still in maternity clothes. im going to start going to the gym hopefully it falls off once i start. The forst 10kg were easy to come off then next ten not so much... and i dont really want to buy a new wardrobe so thought losing weight might be easier and cheaper!
-
Dansta- I used to go to the gym.. its really expensive and I found it no help at all. I did however do the biggest loser diet just before we started ttc, and I lost 5 kg in 2 weeks which I was happy about. They have some great healthy recipes on there and you can choose whether you want to excersize lots or not alot, which is great because I am REALLY lazy.
So when I am ready I think I will do that because I have slowed down the weight loss dramaticly and I am now only loosing 50g a week or so.. it's also alot cheaper than a gym, you just have to stick to it!
Leigh - My dh has a family history of hip dysplasia, so we have to get her checked out again next week for it. We have seen family members struggle with it, it must be so annoying living in a brace! Hope your little one is free from it!
Sas - I added you to facebook!(Talitha) I am also fans of mazalicious (+pretty much every nappy facebook page!)
Well I am struggling with the stretch marks, they are all over my belly, my back, my boobs, my bum, my legs... eek! Thank goodness for clothes but when my middrift starts to show I am quick to cover it up. And dh has noticed too, and he feels fine by telling me about how many I have. Grrr!
Dh is slowly changing his ways, he has been waking up for every feed now (not that he needs to) but hes doing it by choice, and hell chat to me while I feed, its nice because now I dont fall asleep while feeding. He also tells his friends when they ask him to go out that its only a maybe, and he wont be commiting to anything because he has to think of his family first. Not sure how long it will last with this good attitude. But Im enjoying it.
Oh and have any of you got your libido back? I really am not interested in it anymore. When I think about it, I tense up down there. I thought I was ready, but I really am not, it freaks me out. I feel like I could do without it for the rest of my life and I would be Happy.
We almost got a GIGGLE out of Harlee the other day! My mum was trying to make her smile while I was changing her, when my brother creeped up on her and started tickling my mum and my mum was screaming with laughter and Harlee gave us the biggest smile!! And a bit of a squeak! It was adorable!!!!!!
-
leigh- hope she is all good and doesnt need the sling.
sas-u r added :) we are looking at 3-4 as well (depends how long it takes me to get a girl, there are no girls born in Df's family 4 3gens) but at im agreeing with poopie on the DTD thing, so i am not worried about the nxt 1 being soon!! i had my stitches out on monday and finally braved a proper look *shudder* it aint very pretty thats for sure!
poopie- read above but ditto for the stretch marks as well, i somehow also managed to get stretchmarks on my calves from water retention :o i didnt even know that was possible!! and i am still seeing more come up around my nipple from mr c pulling on my nipple when he's feeding but i think it just depends on ur skin type, some people stretch and some get stretchmarks. i swear some on my tummy look and feel like real scars. bio oil is good, worked 4 my puberty ones and remember that they fade :). hooray on the giggle!!! it is SO adorable!! is harlee ticklish?
dani- i am far to scared to even look in my wardrobe...tho i have 2 find something to wear to my sisters wedding in 3weeks which should be fun.....
-
sas: i added you too BTW!
leigh: DH has said the same thing about going for #3 - we'd most likely get a boy. cus its us  maybe get a boy puppy ;)?
alex: the first ten are easy? i think i lost about 4 or 5 after DJ - then when all the crud went down with the FTT - i gained a heck of alot. i think i was around 87kg before (or not long after) i fell with Vic. so i'm not sure what todo. *hmmph* maybe we all need a nice shopping trip??
poopie: i used to go to the gym...3 months after i started...i was UTD with DJ lol!
 on the strech mark front. i'm the same. i have them over my belly (they grew more while carrying vic 0_o ) my boobs have matching ones and some on my inner thighs. DH tells me he loves me and reminds me that they're there 'cus i've grown and birthed two babies and my body has changed with that. tell your DH next time he points out how meany you have that a) he can carry the next one ( ^_- ) and b) they are the silver threads of life, something he'll never have as he cant carry a baby and birth it. its a right of passage for a women when she becomes a mother her body will change and c) if he wont quit you'll hit him with Harlee's pooy nappy. and AWW at the giggle. we have thus far got half a smile from vic.
mar': well thus far on my side (out of the grand kids from my aunts kids and now me) we have 5 boys and 3 girls. so boy or girl no one cares  but on DH's side its just our two boys. hopefully BIL and SIL have a boy so then we can have a girl! you had to have your stiches out? mine are ment to dissolve - but they haven't as yet. and my veejayjay looks differant (again) now too. its more of an "innie" in DHs words
AFM: as for lebbido mines not too bad...when vic was only about 3 weeks old DH hopped on the good foot and did the bad thing  but it was a little tender - and we can only do missonary at this point due to the stiches. - but after DJ DH didn't get a look in for a good 8 weeks  but that was a labial tare - and a bad one this time i only copped a 2nd degree peterum tare which im not sure how bad that is lol. but im happy - my bleeding has stopped! hopefully i wont see that fir a while!
-
Ah, stretch marks. They may fade but that's all they do ... fade. Took me years to come to terms with mine :( Thankfully I didn't get anymore with the second two. They look dreadful when I'm cold.
None of my clothes fit either, I just went out and bought a minimal amount of new jeans that actually fit until I'm back in my old clothes, which is likely to take a full year. Not much point rushing weight loss. I do need a new bra now, I seem to have settled to a size now, so time to go find a website that actually has one in stock and buy it ...
I got interviewed at the hospital today, they are going for baby friendly certification. Lots of questions about breastfeeding, and a free coffee and bikkies to bribe us mums in to do the questionaire :)
-
dan- 3 weeks o_O bah yes stitches out. they were meant disolve but werent...one bit went into my skin and made a pimply type thing that HURT and the douchebag OB stitched so the internal stitches and external stitches came together with a knot right at the opening, pulled tight so i had a knot of stitching pulling every time i moved... OB's lucky i if i dont kick him in the shins if i ever see him again.
elf- my hosp was a baby friendly one, they were REALLY good. i stayed longer in hosp for a variety of reasons but 1 of them was attachment issues and they were fantastic. there was always a lactation specialist rostered on among the midwives so there was good help no matter the time of day/night. and DF got to stay the whole time with us, he simply had to sign something.
-
Hey Mummies and Babies!
How is everyone? Just catching up on all the posts...
Cmarfol - Um OUCH! WTF was wrong with your OB? I'd kick him in the shins the next time you see him! And yeah, I would love a little girl as well... and I'd be willing to try another couple of times... but DH only wants 1 more... but I would love 3, even 4 kids... so we'll see..
Elf - Yep, stretch marks are a way of life for me. I got them when I gained 30+kg... I lost the weight (that's how I got PG in the first place!), but they were still there, but didn't gain any during the pregnancy, just filled out the ones I had. When I was PG for the first time in a long time I felt comfortable with my body and have a fat belly cos it was "natural" and "normal" and my belly wasn't as flabby. Now... it's back to being flabby!
Dansta - Impressed that you got back on the DTD bandwagon! I think my DH is petrified that we're going to make another baby the minute we start having sex, so we haven't had sex yet - and I'm a little anxious about it hurting for the first time once we do start doing it. I'm hoping for some action this weekend so that I can chat to my ob at our appointment next week should there be any problems.
What contraception is everyone using??
Poopie - DH is also getting up with me at each feed, which really does help. He will get up and change Lachlan's nappy, allowing me to get up and get ready for the feed. He'll then either stay awake and talk to me or go back to sleep (which I don't mind cos I know he has to go to work...). I find it really helps. And yeah, I am a bit worried about starting the sex up again, but DH is more worried about making another Lachlan!! hehe I really want to start up again, but DH wants to wait until our OB appointment so we can get some contraception.. I am thinking the mini pill but want to see which ones don't affect breast milk production. We haven't DTD since March!!! :o So I am hanging for it!
Hello everyone else!
AFM - well Lachlan is one spoilt little dude! His Nannie Annie (my mum) bought him so much stuff yesterday when we went out. He got TWO car seats (one for mums car, and one for us when he grows out of his infant capsule), a automatic rocking chair (a godsend for me cos I can put him down for a bit and do stuff around the house), heaps and heaps of clothes and she bought us lunch! Score!
And guess what... I've started applying for part time work from home jobs online.. OMG I know, crazy right? but I really need to start doing something other than looking after Lachlan. Don't get me wrong, I love being a mummy, but I want to get back into doing some mentally challenging work (and of course the money definitely helps!). I'll only be looking at work from home stuff that can be flexible around Lachlan and what he needs. I've applied for 2 jobs already! So excited.
OK, I'm off to cook dinner before the little man wakes up from his nap. Still not sleeping through the night, but funnily enough i'm totally getting used to the sleep deprivation and it doesn't nearly seem as bad, although it does coincide with when I got my first big smiles from Lachlan which just melts my heart!
Sas - I added you on FB as a friend.
Love Me xx
-
elf: yay for new jeans! i need some :( as i feel stupid with my too-small ones and overly big ones - and none of my maternity ones fit - thanks to my belly streching out all the elastic! ooo baby friendly hospital- thats always a good thing.
Mar: thats good they kept you in. mine kicked me out as soon as they could - i was in two nights but by 9am on the second day i was discharged. the MW on the ward i know a few where LC's. but they had an LC on every day that you could book into see - and i still can even now - as i birthed Vic there. but they did keep the women i shared a room with in longer as she was having attachment issues/baby blues (mind you i couldn't see why. she seemed normal for her milk comming in...and i'd know the mine came in on the sunday night and i cried over *every* thing lol) as for the stiches OUCH! mine where done really well. - but i think they're still there LOL. im not really worried. i know the OB who stiched me after DJ almost got a kick in the face but the lady this time was really good and made sure *everything* was numb. and  about DTD. i think 'cus my stiches where ok i wasn't worried about it. and DH and I needed it after everything that had happend with vic and the time we'd spent apart...but we haven't done it since.
Erica: posted at the same time! as for conrtiseption we're useing good 'ole dinngers! i told DH im not willing to take the pill - my body has this wonderful ability to stop allowing them to work - it happend not long before i fell with DJ - three years on the strongest pill that the brand i was on made and it stopped working (and i had a clockwork 21 cycle at that point which peeved me off more then anything!) as for the 3-4 kids thing...just keep talking about it! DH has gone from a "NO WAY IN HELL" approch to a third to an "IF" which is good i told him i hoestly didn't feel 'done' and that seeing as our family is so fragmented (mainly his side) that i wanted a nice close meidum sized family. and if we got a girl - score- if not then i'd have three sons and a lovely man. the only codition is i get a girl puppy!
AFM: ahh my boobies! vics been sleeping alot today and my boobies aren't too happy about this! the poor things have been semi hard all day! i could express but knowing vic  he wont take the EBM! plus the pump my friend lent me is rather...not agreeable with my boobs nad TBH has a weak stuck! this weekend looks like it'll be semi busy - tomorrow DH is taking my car to tow another car (on a trailor) for my cousin and maybe taking DJ with him. so im house bound (must rember to take the pram out of the back JIC.) then sunday we're catching up with DH's mate his DP (who i dont really like lol) and their kids as well as his (DH's mates) brother and anther friend. which will be fun seeing as i've never met the mates brother and the other friend only every see's me while UTD...or drunk LOL! but i've warned DH that my boobie will be out to feed vic and i dont care where we are or whoes there! and monday we're going for a drive to see my dads side of the family - as they came down to see DJ - plus i want to get out the house and see the big wide world again!
Ohh and this week is a semi busy week - on monday my dad goes into hospital then tuesday is having a prostate operation and also on tuesday my aunt and nanna have their eyes tested and tuesday im getting new tyers on my car. (once the baby bonus comes in im paying DH back for them)...mainly 'cus we're hoping to get away for a weekend or two in the next few months!
Oo better go, i have a whingey DJ and Vic starting to ster!
hope every one is having a good one
-
erica- mmm wasnt my OB (i didnt have 1) it was just the hospital one that was rostered onto the labour ward. and its grandparents priviledge to spoil the grandbabies! we are using a pill that apparently doesnt work unless your breastfeeding so doesnt interfere, its called....*runs off to find prescription*....microlut. jeez i can barely function enough to get out of the house let alone work!
dan- nah dont be embarrassed im impressed! ah prostate stuff is scary, my dad had an operation a couple of years ago. lol ur quiet the social butterfly! doing 1 thing a weekend is quiet enough for me!
-
Well, the other half measured me as my old bras are a bit loose now my milk is settled in, we hit the hot milk website, picked a size and ordered some. And they're pretty. So they'd better fit when they get here.
Theo only woke up once last night O_o .... *and* he's stopped pooping at every single feed (I forgot what a wee-only nappy looks like) *and* he was smiling at us yesterday. What gives!
And contraception? Holding out for the 6 week checkup and then getting the other half referred to get a vasectomy.
-
Dan - what a busy weekend! Ive had the same sort of problem with the sore boobz when harlee feels like a long sleep.. But what ive found helps is just squeezing a bit out in the shower or getting a heatpack on there and that starts the flow so i can manually squeeze some out just to releive the engorged feeling. I have a LOT of milk so it happens a lot!
I think harlee is having another growth spurt.. Today she has been awake for a total of half an hour.. And last night she had a full seven and a half hours sleep.. In a row!!! i couldnt beleive it. Everybody tells me how she should sleep thru the night at six weeks.. But this just feels wrong! but i really shouldnt complain!
We are also getting lots of smiles.. More and more every day,and today i smiled at her while i was feeding her and she smiled back at me. It was so sweet! its all getting so much easier. I love being a mum!
-
Man poopie - I am SO FREAKING JEALOUS of how much Harlee sleeps for you! I'm LUCKY if I get a solid 4 hours from Lachlan at night before he wakes up for a feed. He is such a gutz.. loves the boobie num nums thats for sure. I'm hanging out for the days when he does 6 hours straight - I'd be cheering. Still, I'm getting used to the lack of sleep...
My boobs are the same, I just express otherwise Lachlan gets a face full of milk when he feeds. I've got a good stash in the freezer for when DH or my parents look after Lachlan. Maybe I can work from home as a wet nurse? or just sell my milk on e-bay!? *lol*
OK, Lachlan is sleeping so I'm going to go to bed and get some sleep while I can :)
Take care mummies!
Erica xx
