Babies born~June 16th-30th 2010 #1

elf: wow thats a nice set of boobies! yours can be evil overlords and mine can be handy side kicks :rofl: mine are only at 18dd at this stage. but by the time i've finished b/fing they'll be around near my knees. sertonly lost any "perk" they had lol. also they have matching strech marks like my belly! ...and i'm no skinny minni eather. my 'normal' size 16 jeans barely do up lol only my older streched out ones (that'd be nearer to an 18 or a 20!) fit hehe.

AFM: had the MCHN appt today. and we have a chubba bubba. 5.2kg (and vic had a head start with a birth weight of 4.2kg) so everything is good. MCHN is happy and we see her again in a month! had a rough night with DJ thanks to teething - again - but im thinking its eye teeth (the worst of the lot!) comming though. but vic slept though most of it which was good. now i better go and feed vic...before my boobies explode!

Perk? What perk? They're insane. I started at a 10e before baby #1, went to 10g, then back down to 10dd, then 10i, then 10d, then 10i, so I swing a pretty fair way from normal to BFing. I think I was a wet nurse in a previous life.

I'm going to save up for a lift as opposed to a reduction, since I swear if you only take off the extra skin I'd be a 10c. But the other half gets a vasectomy first :P After the last baby it was actually uncomfortable to go braless longer than it takes to shower and that's with NO breastfeeding, so they have got to get the chop for my own sanity. 18dd is probably a similar size or maybe bigger than I am but way closer to being in proportion *sighs and mumbles something about Jordan*

Theo has apparently got over the nasty cold we've had. He's spent the last few days either asleep or eating and I've had huge trouble waking him up. Today he's been all eyes most of the day, catching up on Lookin' At Stuff. Very cute. He gets weighed tomorrow, cold or no cold his onesies are getting tighter so he's definitely growing.

I'd love a reduction but I'm sworn against any more surgery unless it's absolutely necessary. My maternity bra is a H cup, I swear I could cut it in half and wear it as a hat.

eep surgery to do with boobies scares me, ive heard so many horror stories. not to mention my friend not being able to bf cos of 2 rather nessecary reductions...

elf.. thats amazing! Bra shopping must be impossible for you! I have lost 14kg so far.. but I put on 30kg, its a bit much, but its slowly dropping off :) Im doing a similar diet where I eat everything I see and excersize only by walking to the fridge and back.

If it wasnt for Harlees burping issues.. I would have had a great nights sleep.. but I kind of did anyway. She slept from 9pm-3am!! then it took 2 hours to burp her because she was very squirmy but she was trying to sleep and it was bothering her. then she woke at 7.30am. No bad really :) Must be doing SOMETHING right!
meanwhile our first mchn appointment is next week! slack people they are! There is also a 'mothers day out' day that our council is putting on which is a lunch, massage and talks to baby experts. Not sure whether to go tho.
I wish I could leave Harlee and a list of chores for dh but I know he wouldnt cope.. and honestly, I worry for Harlee because dh often gives up easy when she is cying and he'll just put her down to cry by herself when there is obviosly something she needs help with.:(
The only person I could and can leave Harlee with is my mum, dh's parents are useless and would feed her everytime she cried because they dont think I feed her enough, aparently every 2 hours or more is not enough. pfft. and mil calls her fatty still.
We have gotten a few smiles out of Harlee the last few days, we really have to work her up and be really in her face. But she has smiled! Very different to the wind smiles as her whole face is involved and they arent massive smiles either. :D

The lump got weighed and measured today. His onesies barely fit and he has multiple chins not a scraggly newborn chicken neck so surprise surprise, he's gained 600g in 2 weeks and is longer too.

There's a good reason we only bought two boxes of newborn nappies and have several boxes of the next size up sitting in DD#2's room ...

I can forgive the oversized boobies as they are very useful - apparently I'm good at making fat babies :)

Sorry have been MIA over the past week... you know how it is! Can't believe our LO's are getting close to the 6 week mark!

My health care nurse still hasn't contacted me for an appointment and I'm due for Lachlan's 6 week vaccines next week so just going to visit his GP instead. Also want to get in touch with a mother's group but don't really know how to go about that... everyone says that the HCN has the list of the mummy's in the area who had their babies around the same time. Might go and see if I can give them a call and see what the deal is.

Sorry I've been MIA too, I have been reading just not having time to post.

I live in Cairns and this is my third bub and I've never had a health nurse or anything. Basically here after you've had your baby the hospital sends a midwife to your house for a few days after you come home to weigh bub and check to see that everything is going ok and that's it. After that you're pretty much on your own to organise bubs check ups with your GP etc. We do have community health clinics where we can take our bubs to get weighed whenever we want to etc. I would love to join a mothers group, especially since we moved to this suburb of Cairns in Jan so it would be great to meet other mums out in the suburb I am in. Will have to check to see if the Community Health Clinic organises something.

Everything is going well here, Lexie is definitely chubbing up, she is growing so quickly. It makes me sad coz she is my last bub. DD2 is a bit rough with her at times and sometimes I think it is on purpose. She has been sleeping well at night. Going to sleep around 10pm and sleeping through until around 5.15am and then straight back to sleep after her feed. I'm hoping this is her starting to sleep through the night.

Gotta go, I am in the middle of cooking dinner. DH works nights so its always busy around here at this time with me and the 3 girls.

leigh... how on earth do you get Lexie to sleep through that long??? Lachlan did a 4.5 hour sleep last night and I was THRILLED! :)

They just do or don't ... my first started sleeping through the night when she was about 4 months old, I didn't do anything. My second we tried everything and she started sleeping long stretches at 14 months. This one regularly sleeps 3-4 hours.

I think I've got good sleepers. DD1 slept through from 6wks, DD2 from 5 wks & I'm hoping this is Lexie starting to sleep through. I'm so scared of jinxing myself everytime I tell someone that she sleeps well at night. Lexie must be going through a growth spurt too coz she's been feeding lots from approx 7.30am til midday & like that again from 7pm til bed time. It's only been the past two days. My nipples are getting a bit sore.

erica: chloe has been sleeping through as well but she does 8pm to 2am, not ideal. im trying to get her to have a feed at 10pm or 11pm so she sleeps through til the morning. fingers crossed. She just started sleeping through herself, we were very surprised and i was waking her up in between but the midwife said there is no need to if she is putting on weight, so we now just let her be no more waking her up for feeds, she will wake up when she is hungry!

Yup, Harlee has been having good sleeps of 5 or 6 hours at a time during the night too, and she does this by herself. Although yesterday I was a tad concerned as she was wanting feeds every hour and a half. and usually half an hour after her morning feed, she'll want another feed.
My supply of milk seems to have increased, so Im pretty sure there has just been a growth spurt. Im able to get the 'squirts' up now! (with the milk!) - Very handy for squirting on her bum to fix the nappy rash!

We've started a nighttime routine where I feed her, she has a shower with daddy, then I top her up, swaddle her and she goes to bed. Seems to make her sleep well. I will rock her till she is half asleep and then I put her down, she usually goes to sleep by herself now with no cries. :)
During the day I will wake her if she sleeps longer than 3 hours to feed her as she usually has one big sleep a day, so I save that for night time when I want to sleep too.
I did the grocery shopping today, had to take my mum because I had no idea how to do it with Harlee, mum had her in the carier while I did the shop, then I dropped mum home and Harlee fell asleep in the car, I left it running and unloaded the car when I got home with her still in it, then I brang her in and fed her, then I put her in the swing and put all the shopping away. Wondering if there is an easier way to do it?! And possibly by myself, the baby seats on the trollies look so hard, maybe there is a cover to buy? hmm..

wow you ladies have good sleepers! vic is up every 4 -ish hours at night. and feeds (at a guess lol) every 2 or 3 hours during the day. i say guess mainly due to the lack of dummy takeage - so he grizzles he's fed simple really. my motto? "when i doubt whip it out" heh.

poopie: the bassent things on the trollys aren't too bad - with DJ i used to put a nice warm/fluffy blanket down and pop him on top. and then another one over the top of him. he used to like looking at the people! you can get cover things (from toys are us i think is one place) that you can pop over the bassent then it converts to go over the seat in the trolly later as well (i might buy one for DJ and vic once the baby bonus comes in!)

AFM: well i did it. i dyed my hair black! so i've gone from blonde to black in one fowl swoop! i also had my hair cut today as well. Vic came along for that. in the fount carrier. next time it'll be the sling though - stop him getting hair on him. he has enough on his head as is! then i did the shop with him. he did really well and only *just* as i was paying for it did he get a little cranky. but that was fixed with a quick feed in the car. DJ staied home with DH. then when i got home DH took vic so i could cook Dunch (dinner and lunch) for DH. the check out chick at the supermarket was shocked at how big vic was - she thought i'd have needed a c-cect going on how "huge" i was before i gave birth. i told her they had no hope, i knew my body could do it! now i'm thinking while vic is asleep (DJ just woke up!) i'll put the pruple rinse though my hair. it'll be a shock for my cousins tomorrow as DH is going over there to help my cousin fix his work van (had a small bingel in it while DH was in it o_0) and no one knows i've dyed my hair black heh.
Ohh and in other news cousins of mine (mums sister had 3 kids lol) who was expecting twins had them on wednesday! they came out via the French doors (c-cect) as the cord flow to one of the babies wasn;t the best. so on wednesday Grace and lily came into this world. 1.7kg and 1.2kg respectively. scary part? combined their weight is just under HALF of vic :o they're in SCN - which they'll be in there for a while they're going grate guns. i think once they're stable (they are at this point) they'll be sent to another hospital (nearer to my cousins) to fatten up and the whole "above 2kg = home" may apply. which is really exciting for my cousins! at least i can off load the NB nappies we have and my maternity pads off to some one :lol: i also get the feeling DH will be getting more phone calls of "WTF do i do?!?!" from my cousin, he did that when his wife got admited to hospital. now i better go and feed a hungry little DJ then do my hair.

Wow, I can't believe how many of you have babies who sleep through! Abi doesn't sleep at all unless I hold her at least, usually she wants to sleep feed as well. To be entirely honest I'm not sure how much longer I can keep breastfeeding for. I'm absolutely exhausted, she wants to feed constantly, even over night. Most of the time the most she goes between feeds is an hour including overnight. This week we've had a string of really bad nights when she's fussed and cried all bar two hours - in one hour stretches and she screams all day unless I hold her, sometimes even when I am holding her, I can't even put her down long enough to go to the loo without crying.

She fusses and cries while she's eating and still seems to be in a lot of wind pain. I don't know what to do to fix it.

Bad Mummy, I really feel for you. My DD1 was like that with breast feeding and I was absolutely exhausted, thankfully she settled down at around 6wks. I know with how often you don't have much time in between but could you maybe express some milk and get DH to do a couple of feeds for you so you can try and get some rest? Your daughter Erin and I share the same birth date.

Dansta, I'd love to go to the hairdresser and get my hair dyed, can't wait until I finally have time to go. Did you put the purple rinse in as well? What did your cousins say, were they shocked?

Poopie, I've got Lexie into a routine at night too and she's pretty much in one during the day too. There are shopping trolley covers you can buy. Just google them. I got a really good one off the net but I forget what site I got it off. I will google and see if I can find it for you.

AFM: Not a lot going on here. Lexie had another great sleep last night, 10:30pm until 6.20am. I was shocked when she woke me up and it was 6:20am. Even though she had a great sleep and I managed about 6hrs I still feel really tired today. I should be trying for a sleep now but DH is mowing the lawn and our lawn mower is so freaking loud, plus I'll probably just start dozing off and DD2 or Lexie will wake anyway.
