    Hi everyone

Hoping that everyone is having a better time than us. The last few days have been horrendous - just hoping that we are coming into a better time now.

Since Friday, Fraser has decided to only take half of his feed, whoch consequently means he needs fed twice as often. Through the night, I have just been getting back to bed when he wakes wanting his next part of his feed. We have tried everything - we thought it was tiredness so tried keeping him awake, but he still refused point blank to take any more than about 60 mls max. It's like you are trying to poison him if you actually get the bottle in, but most of the time, the jaws are clamped fixed shut and he's just not interested. He hasn't done a poo since Saturday morning, and is having really bad wind, so we think that the constipation and wind combo are making him think his belly is full, therefore not wanting to take his feed.

I spent most of yesterday in tears and just not knowing how I'm going to cope. When DH got home last night, he came in thinking he could fix it all, but was quite shocked when he realised that he had been screaming like that all day. Luckily, I asked him to take Fraser out in the pram, and I got an hour of sleep, which made the world o f difference!

I got him to take 2 full feeds through the night and he went for 3 hours after each. This morning so far, he has only snacked every hour, but just got a poo as I'm typing this, so hopefully things on the improve!

miamunchkin - we have had trouble with Hamish too for the last couple of nights. he has only taken either 1/3 or 1/2 of his feeds. up almos every hour with him. so exhausting. he keeps falling asleep when he has his bottle which means that he doesnt finish it and wakes up hungry later. i keep telling myself its a growth spurt and wont last forever. DH keeps thinking its coz he is withdrawing from not having the boobie milk anymore lol. somehow i doubt that considering the little one hasnt wanted it for awhile now. fingers crossed he gets better for u!!

Hi Girls - finally have my internet sorted, so will be back on here a bit more.

Well all the visitors have now left and itis great!!!! Not that I didnt like seeing people, it just was sending Matilda feral! She is good now.

Well not to gloat but she slept through 9 hours at 2 weeks and 6 days and has been doing it ever since and back to 3 hourly and 4 hourly during the day! Sometimes she will stay awake during feeds, which is good and has the unsettled time during dinner, but otherwise all good.

I haven't caught up on posts, but Teresa don't feel bad about changing to bottle, you did a good job sticking it out.

By the way did anyone watch that show on Lifestyle channel about extradinary breastfeeding - ie 8 year olds??? Not against BF but it creeped me out a bit at that age.

Becc - I didnt see it but I saw the adverts. I am all for breastfeeding but I am with you on the creepy factor once they get that old. I know that isnt a popular opinion in the breastfeeding circles..... but it is def not for me!

Teresa & Miamunchkin - maybe your bubbies are having another growth spurt?

AFM - I spent all night last night in emergency with the worst stomach cramps, I actually thought I was in labour again. I had them all day, but kept putting off going to the Dr because it was my first day alone with Tiah as DP went back to work and I didnt want to have a winge and drama on my first day flying solo! The hospital was USELESS. Waited for nearly 2 hours while people with cracked thumbs or needing to get a cast removed went in before me... all the while crying out in pain. When I finally get seen they seem clueless as to what is wrong, do the most painfull internal I think has ever been performed, give me panadiene and tell me to see my Dr tommorrow.

I go see my Dr, he performs an ultrasound. I have retained products and an infection. He couldnt believe they didnt do a scan and start me on antibiotics straight away. I have to see how the antibiotics go and may need a D&C

Now I have to have someone come and help me during the day, because I cant stand up straight from the pain and cant lift Tiah by myself. On a good note though, she smiled for the first time yesterday... she must have known her mum needed it

    Hi girls,

    How are we all doing?

Becc- so jealous of you and your long night sleeps! Though I can't complain too much as Adrian has a big 6 hr sleep from about 7pm-1am but i don't go to bed till 9ish, then he's awake every three hours. Not too bad but i miss sleeping in!

Meercat- That's awful about the hospital! How useless when you were in so much pain and not one nurse or doctor thought maybe it was an infection! Duh! I was just common sense to give you an ultrasound! What were they thinking! Hope everything gets better soon and try and enjoy the extra help around the house. Big hugs!

AFM- Adrian has been good but seems to be going through a growth spurt as he is feeding lots and i keep running out of milk and im worried bout my supply. I have to keep topping him up with formula or else he sucks and sucks at the boobie and cries when he doesn't get enough. Poor little monkey I'm taking fenugreek to help with supply but doesn't seem to be doing much and its all i can taste for hours after, Yuck! Was going to try and make the Lac cookies but time to go to the shops and to cook them seems unlikely.
Has anyone found that one boob produces more milk then the other? My left seems to only get about 40mls at a time whereas my right gets about double that? Weird.

Anyways, sorry i can't remember any other personals, hope everyone is doing well, thanks to all the ladies who are now my friends on FB, all your baby photos are precious.

    Hugs

Meercat, I had that with DD. Honestly have no idea how I made it through the first 4 weeks with her. I was so sick & can hardly remember most of my first four weeks with dd. We found out cos I passed a large piece of placenta when I was on the toilet a week after dd was born. They put me on antibiotics & confirmed it with an ultrasound. Three weeks later I still had retained placenta & ended up with the d&c. Was a totally different person after that. Please go back to the doctor in a week & get another ultrasound done.
I have lost the weight alot quicker this time, feel so much better & wish I had known then what I know now. My bleeding went to mild a week after Jax was born. With Maddi it was still bright red fresh blood after 4 weeks. If anyone is still having alot of bleeding get checked out. It sounds gross but I really think they should actually look at your pads and what you are passing a week or two after birth. This issue would be picked up so much quicker if the did. Sorry for the tmi but it is an infection & it is dangerous. People say it is hard with a new baby so I pushed through thinking that was all it was. It can be hard, but what I experienced was beyond hard.
Please please please anyone who still has alot of bleeding, go & get checked out.

    Hi!

Miamunchkin - Big hugs...Jayden often only feeds one side as well at times...Hopefully he settles down for you soon..Try not to blame yourself...these cheeky babies just do their own thing sometimes. I know how hard and frustrating it can be though!

The only thing I can suggest for bubs that aren't having full feeds and you're probably already doing it is I usually change the nappy after feeding one side and it wakes bubs up enough that he usually feeds a bit more...worth a shot...

31becc - Wow on that sleep - amazing!! Hope she keeps it up for you!! Omg...no I didnt' see the bfing show - 8yo??? That seems so unecessary!!! I've fed all my kids until they were 1yo and that was plenty for me!! LOL!

Meercat - You poor thing!! I'd be complaining to the hospital if I was you - they should have at least checked you out properly considering you've just had a baby!!! What a disgrace!! I hope your starting to feel better quickly...xoxoxoxo

Jellymaker - I've always had one boob with more milk than the other - my right boob is also heaps bigger - LOL!! God knows what the state of them well be after 4 years of bfing when I'm done...lol...will need to go and invest in some good bras I think!! hehe.

Mel4d - Sorry to hear you went through so many dramas as well..wise words of advice from you about seeing a dr!!

Well, I'm tired - but then we all are aren't we?? LOL! Bubs seems to gets more unsettled as the night progresses...He always screams after his feeds and has some good burps happening...but we got a brief smile last night and another today!!! Can't wait until it's a more regular occurence! He's been loving looking at his big brothers though as long as they can stay quiet while their close to him!

I'm so going to bed in a minute - my eyes can't focus on the computer screen properly...lol..

    Chat later!
