I am spending today in my bed, I have set up everything so I can feed her and put her down for a sleep without getting out of my bed.... hopefully it is only for a few days while everything goes back to normal. I cant help but feel guilty... I wanted to be taking my little girl for walks and stuff by this stage and she is locked in a bedroom
Mel - I agree, my DP and I dont know why they dont check every single woman, the ultrasound took about 20 seconds to find out what the issue was! And being a first time mum... I have no idea what is normal or what is to be worried about! They asked me how my blood loss was at week one, but no one actually checked they just took my word for it. And each time I rang about my stomach pains, I was told that because my lochia (sp?) was going to the dark brown colour it was fine and my pain was probably muscular since I didnt have a temp (For the record, I had a burst appendix a few years ago.... never got a temp above normal so they kept telling me I couldnt have appendicitis) But then a Dr tells me in the hospital that to be wearing maternity pads after 4 weeks is not normal!
I am really annoyed the did an internal exam when a simple ultrasound would have given the answer. I was terrified and crying, and the pain was worse than labour pains.... and it was totally unneccesary. I am also seriously pi**ed off after reading the notes they sent to my Dr - saying I had worrying clots and possible infection - yet they sent me home with a 4 week old baby to care for and freaking panadeine.
On the feeding and nappy change subject... I change Tiah as soon as she gets up, and if she is still alert after a feed I change her again. I find if she has even the slightest bit of anything in her nappy she wont feed at all, and if I try and put her down for a sleep she wont settle. I figure a nappy is about 30 cents and my sanity is worth that!
Beata - Tiah does this every now and then, I was told it was reflux but I am starting to suspect it is a combo of wind and my huge supply of milk! I am on edge every time she looks like she will burp, because you never know what is behind it!
Jellymaker - My right boob is the milk machine, it looks almost twice the size of my left one! I seem to feed Tiah twice of that one and then once of the left! I tried to express to encourage more milk from the left... but it doesnt seem to change things.
