chatterboxes anonymous anyone??? cant believe we're on our fourth thread already!

DH just got a call about a job and has had to pretty much turn it down. even though the employer is local (about 70ks from here) all the work is syd-bris or syd-perth. he might get back to vic once a month or so. i could travel to sydney to see him - but it's not the kind of life we can live. sigh...

if we could guarantee getting him home after 10 days away (for four days) it would be tolerable - but not knowing when he'd get home would kill me.

guess it would mean i'd get to catch up with sydney friends fairly regular lol

Naomi - Yes am using grobag or equivalent - haven't even thought about summer yet, but have already reduced number of layers under 2.5 grobag as is much warmer here than has been and CJ's room seems to be about 20 overnight. I am going to get some in the UK as they are much cheaper over there especially the summer ones (prob because of rubbish weather over there ).

BG - Thanks for all the tips on packing etc, especially like the zip lock bag idea. I am going to use disposables over there as cloth would just take up all my luggage and we are moving from place to place. Everyone has driers over there so drying clothes shouldn't be too much of a problem, and my mum seems to have bought so many things for Cerys already. Also luckily we have some money left in UK never brought over and is better to spend it than bring over with exchange rate as is so I think we will not go with much but come back with more (although not much point in buying winter clothes unless buy for next winter and doubt they will have summer stuff in shops). Yes will take the HAB and the Ergo as long as like it when arrives (intending to use the Ergo in airport on and off plane etc as HAB is too fiddly and you are not allowed to keep baby in a sling on plane apparently). I just need to think ahead I guess - how many disposables would you take for a 24 hour plane trip?

hmmm good question re sposies! i honestly don't know. i would probably think, if you could, throw in a smaller pack of huggies (or whatever brand you're taking) - better to have too many than not enough. we were given a pack of 32 huggies when E was baptised - looking at it now, it's not that bulky (i'd give it to you but you live too far away lol). if you're only wanting to take just enough, maybe take a nappy for every two hours. sometimes you won't need them for that timeframe, sometimes more often. but i always err on the side of caution and have too many

Bailey goes through about 6-8 disposables in 24 hours (I think most airlines normally carry some incase of 'accidents' too) - HTH
