Very quick post today! We made it safe and sound to the gold coast yesterday. Kyson was a little angel on the plane. He fell asleep just after the plane took off, and woke up while we were taxi-ing after landing!

We got settled in yesterday afternoon, and this morning we have been to Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary. It was very pretty, but probably not the best place for an (almost) 9 month old. He couldn't really see a lot of the stuff. The birds were too small and fast for him to really notice, the wombat was too slow, the snake was too slow... He liked the dingoes though during a little show. They came running out, so he got a good look at them. Oh, and we got a photo with a koala, lol!

Better run now, we're just about to head down to the swimming pool.

    Can't wait for Seaworld!!!

Cathy - I hope everything is ok with your friends baby, how heartbreaking to think something could be wrong

Krystie, Bella and Cathy - have an awesome time at Seaworld!

Bailey is racist - Oh Dear! All jokes aside, On friday one of the Indian ladies at Mum's work gave him a cuddle and he burst into tears, and today he looked around at the TV to see Eddie Murphy and got upset and burst into tears - I realised that he has never really seen anyone with darker skin and for whatever reason it must have scared him, we are all pale pasty skin from english stock, not sure what to do? Any ideas? Is that heaps weird? It's kinda embarrassing.....

Cathy- Im sooooo sorry to hear about your friend. Please let us know how she gets on.

Krystie- Enjoy the holiday! Im so jealous!

Naomi- Poor Bailey re the crying at darker skinned people. Im not really sure what it would be that would make him cry. Maybe keep showing him dark skinned people on the tv and see how he goes.

AFU, Well Jake and Zac are off to school tomorrow. Im kinda sad but kinda looking forward to the peace and quiet. After we drop them at school, we are heading to Melbourne, so all you Melbourneites better put on some good weather! LOL.

we're off to Melbs tomorrow too - my cousin's hubby was in remission but has just found out he has cancer of the liver so E and I are braving a day with my olds to go and see him. am not sure that i want to go, esp without DH, but i will cos i don't want to regret it at any point...

Naomi - kids react to different people in different ways. around this age the seperation anxiety kicks in a little bit, so perhaps it's that. just keep exposing him as much as you can, but in a supportive way. if someone wants a cuddle, ask them to engage him first so he knows them. E is very picky about everyone (skin color is no issue) and has to know someone or she looks at me as if to ask what the hell i'm doing handing her over!

    Hey Everyone,

Naomi I wouldn't be to worried. I have hear alot of people say that their baby has done that with people of a different race. Make sure when you see someone who is colored next time you stay supper relaxed keep him with you and react in a really positive manner to them. He will get the idea that u think it is fun. If there arn't many opportunities for that then find pictures on the net and let him look from the safety of your arms. Thanks btw for the info about seaworld.

I reckon our babies will be fine. J is clingy atm but on in respect to how she normally is which is still very relaxed. She will go to anyone. We left her for 4 hrs with my SIL who she had barely met the other day and she just reached out her arms and went to her and then was fine all afternoon. Which is reassuring for those times we need to be away from her.

I must go I am feeling a little queesy..... I dreamt I was pregnant last night....... not that it is possible. We barely ever have sex! Probably just had something bad to eat

Anyway I am off before I throw

Naomi - I had a board book from the library called babies of the world - I got it because CJ loves looking at babies, and in it has babies from all different countries and colours - perhaps something like that would also help. We have some friends in Spain and their daughter when she was younger didn't like Ryan at all because he is reasonably fair and she wasn't used to fair skinned/haired people. My cousin used to cry if she saw a tall man because her dad was short.

Bella - I have also dreamt pregnant recently - with twins!, in fact I think I have now done three pregnancy tests since having CJ as have felt sick too a couple of times - I am on the mini-pill and breastfeeding so is really unlikely - I need to get over that expensive habit!!

My friend is stressing ofcourse. She is probably thinking she will have a miscarriage or worry like hell til the nt scan. (all the dr told her she can do really). Some people in the pregnancy forum have been really positive and told good stories of healthy babies from high betas..so you never know. I am so glad I am not in her situation. I am giving her support as she's not really comfortable talking about it on here.

Looking forward to Seaworld tomorrow..a little concerned about the rain around though.

All you women dreaming about it and wondering if you're pregnant hehe. One thing I don't have to worry about. You need a man involved for that to happen hehe. Me and Alby are gettin along well now....he sees the girls on weekends. He is a lovely guy, just not marriage material...acts way too much like a single bloke and does stupid irresponsible things. We broke up about 3 times a year when we were together...it was inevitable. It is tough some days being a single Mum to 4, but my ex husband (to Yasmin and Ronan) is very helpful. Laura and Cara call him "Uncle Peter"...I think that's quite cute.

I have an old baby board book called 'Playtime' and "Mealtime" with babies of all races. Had it since Yassie was a baby. Even still, Laura cried when she saw an indian lady when she was a baby hehehe (and I was friendly with this lady at school!).

When I was about 4? I embarrased my Mum at the dental school by saying "Mum, that kid's got black stuff on his face".. He was aboriginal...my Mum was dead embarrassed hehe I embarrassed my Mum a lot. I was apparently picking my nose in line at the bank when I was 2 or so and Mum said to me "Don't do that" and I said at the top of my voice "I'll pick my nose if I want to!!" LMAO!

    You preggas, J?!?
Sorry I haven't been in - just been doing it tough lately.
Having said that, I really feel for you, BG. What a shock, both with E and DH. I am sorry that there are extra things to worry about with E's eyes, but you really don't know how technology will change in the coming years. They may well have some great developments in E's lifetime. And as for DH, that's such a pi$$er. I know how hard it is to be looking for work atm. Hoping you both are doing ok with it.
Nic, not sure what's happening with Aaron, but I hope that you (and he, obviously) are ok.

Well girls I had a great time at Seaworld! Was lovely to meet you Krystie, Kyson, Belinda & Hubby and Jemima! The spitting rain from the morning turned into a lovely day with sunshine which was great!

We all got cute photos of the babies with Sesame St characters (I know you will be happy about this Naomi hehe). Laura loved the little kid rides (a little TOO much..she didn't want to go home hehe).

Unfortunately I got sunburnt on my chest, back, arms, hands and feet (ouch), Laura had a slight bit on her cheek..just a little pink and Cara had her first sunburn on one of her arms..just a bit pink, bit near the back of her neck too. It was a damn hot day..and cloudy too. I put sunscreen on, an reapplied, but I guess I missed bits.

I couldn't believe that I forgot!! my camera!!! LOL that's a first. Luckily Krystie and Belinda brought their cameras (thanks guys!!). I did pick up a disposable camera...no idea how they will turn out though. I am sure the underwater ones will be too dark as no flash is allowed in there.

Cara was quite overtired last night and a bit today. Was going to go to playgroup, but after the sunburn and our big day yesterday, I gave it a miss.

Laura has been to all the 'worlds' now...Dreamworld, Movieworld and Seaworld hehe. Cara has only been to Seaworld though, though technically she went to Movieworld (in my belly hehe).

Hope everyone is having a good week! February already!! My eldest Yasmin turns 13 next week!!

Hope you are having fun at White water world today Krystie!
