Naomi- Glad to hear you have a nice little playgroup with some supportive friends, and if there's only 3 of you, then that's good. My mum still sees her playgroup mummies from when me and my sister were babies. They go out once a month, and 25 years later have the strongest friendships.

Nic- I will be thinking of you on the 15th and 26th. I will get some ice cream and wait for you to ring me and let me know how you went.

BG- We would love to come to E's birthday, but not sure if we would make it, as Logan's is the next day. We are planting his placenta under a rose in a special pot.

Bridg - we are planning on planting E's placenta under her "little gem" magnolia bush that weekend as well - probably after it's all wound up for the day and it's only family and maybe her godparents from euroa still here. i'd offer you a place to camp, but with the godparents, we never know how many kidlets they'll have with them - last time they brought five - next time it might be the younger 6 or 7 - and they tend to crash the night - and then my bro and his family... gets "cosy" lol - good thing it's winter!

i'm pretty sure you're up that way - think i'm gonna have to convince DH to do a weekend up there - wonder if i could go to the BB meet up next month and keep going - we have a room at the godparents place anytime we want it... hmmmm.


ooh, and while i remember - is parking easy to find at RCH? i'm thinking if it's difficult i might take mum with us - she has a disabled parking sticker - it's dodgy, but if it gets us a decent park after that trip, will be better for us - can get e out and fed cos she'll be festy by the time we get there lol

BG I remember reading in the Hip Dysplasia thread that the car park is often full, but they have some kind of parking system - might be worth giving them a call

Just on the parking at RCH - only once have I been there and car park has been full and then they let you park but you had to leave your keys with them so they could shuffle the cars. That was week before christmas.

BG- We always leave our car where we are staying, and walk up to the RCH. It's only a 2 min walk. I can send u the info on where we stay if u like. We can claim travel and accommodation back.

i just realised the other day that a lot of the birthdays are the same time lucky ur not all family otherwise id be broke lol i'd just like to say that i probably wont be able to make it to any of the parties with money how it is at the moment and jamie probably wont be having a party as such WOW one year is coming up fast :o

Another week...looks like we will see some sun! It was raining a lot last week.
Some parts near me have been flooded! My street is on a bit of a slope, so I'm not worried.

All you ladies getting into the baby business!! Good for you!! I hope you all do really well! Bella, those wraps look awesome! I am sure you'll sell heaps!

Krystie and Bella...I wanna see Seaworld pics!!! (hint, hint) :-D Speaking of photos, I just got a truckload of my photos delivered from snapfish (had a special 9cents each)..I jumped all over any of their bargains online hehe. Oh my goodness I take so many pics!!

Yasmins turns 13 on thursday!! Gonna have a teenager soon!!!! OMG!

Cara is just into everything now she can drag herself anywhere. She dragged herself to Laura's dolls house before (I have taken out all the tiny things). Such a girl!! She's up on all 4s a lot too. Sometimes (very rarely) she will sit still and play. She did last night when I was having dinner. Ahhhhh

Tried Cara on cruskits yesterday..loves them! She loves banana, watermelon, rice cereal & banana/apple, avocado, pumpkin/sweet potato (in jar - about the only thing she likes of all the baby food besides custard), vegemite on toast... She likes those goulbourn valley tubs of mushy apple/strawberry etc too. Tried her on some baby yogurt today...seemed to like it.

Took her to the local pool the other day with our new floatie (Clark Rubber had sold out of their brand, but got a pretty blue/pink toddler one for $10!) I posted some pics (as usual...I do lead a quiet life!)

I better go do some housework...groan grumble. Have a good week ladies!

Sorry I've been so MIA lately. Things have been rather hectic here since we got back from the Gold Coast. I've had quite a bit of work to do (when it rains, it pours, lol). I have a couple of orders for Off Your Perch, my clinic needed me to do some printouts for them, and then a bunch of website updates, and DH also needs me to do some artwork for him for an event at the club. It's all good because it means money, but Kyson has become even more of a barnacle bub lately. He's now properly teething I think, and he's having a tough time of it at night. He seems mostly ok during the day, but he's just really unsettled at night. He's waking at least every 2 hours and won't settle without a feed. I've ried just holding him and rocking/bouncing him back to sleep. The ONE time i got him back to sleep (after much screaming and crying) he woke 20 minutes later anyway, so it just doesn't seem worth the effort. I've been waking up rather drained of milk though and then worry that there won't be enough during the day, but it seems to be ok. Last night we tried some panadol and it seemed to help. The only problem was that he fought like a tiger to avoid actually swallowing the panadol!

Anyway, I should stop complaining because it seems that a few of you have a lot worse things to worry about at the moment than me. I'm sorry that I don't have time to do persies (Kyson has already started stirring from his nap), but please know that you are all in my thoughts! :hug:

Oh, and I promise that the Gold Coast photos are coming! Stupid facebook is causing me grief. I've tried uploading the photos a number of time with no luck, so I'll just keep trying...

Yeah I am having trouble with FB photo uploader too, even the simple uploader which takes ages is crashing.

Krystie: sorry to hear about the teething trouble. It's hard when you feel empty, but I reckon as soon as he starts sleeping for a longer stretch you will know all about how much milk you've got! Don't stress - Phoebe has been on and off the boob so much in the last couple of months but mine still seems to hang in there no worries.
Cathy: Funny that Cara was drawn to the doll house! Phoebe likes the trains the best, LOL! But then, Natty is the girliest girl I know and she still likes trains. She is convinced that Toby the tram engine is a girl though, LOL!
Nicky: Glad to hear you had a good night at the party!

Was my first day at the new job today. It was GREAT! Had a fantastic time and I think I'm going to really enjoy it. The boss even bought me a lovely bunch of flowers as a "welcome" present (and he also bought one for the other secretary "in the interest of fairness", LOL!) and the work doesn't seem out of my depth, which is a relief.
Phoebe spent the day with my dad as mum was up at my brother's house looking after my nephew. I think we are going to need to start her one day per week in childcare. It's a bit depressing, but I think she will handle it ok. She's a sociable kid and does ok with strangers most of the time. Hoping I'm making good decisions for my family... It's a toughie.

Krystie - If Kyson doesn't like panadol, I'd recommend trying Dymadon for Babies, it has a nice sweet orange flavour and I never had any trouble getting Bailey to take it - in fact he sees the bottle and smells it and opens his mouth in anticipation (little druggie hahahahaha)

Amy - Sounds like you are making GREAT decisions for your family. Sounds like the balance is just right and Phoebe will have a great balance of CC, Family Care and a Part Time Working Mum. It's really similar to what we will have here once Sean goes back to work, and I think you are making awesome decisions - your girls will grow up confident young women who will be keen to enter the workforce when the time comes just like Mum, and will no doubt appreciate and benefit from your own experiences in the workforce (and the big wide world outside our front doors - the one I have forgotten exists since Bailey was born LOL). A good friend of mine is a junior primary principle and she herself has had her own little ones in part time CC and is a big advocate, she says you can really tell the difference socially and developmentally in kids starting school, and it helps them adjust to kindy and school, so feel good about it! My neices were looked after by my SIL until they started school and although she helped them developmentally get ready for school, they REALLY struggled socially and took a long time to adjust, my SIL ended up regretting not giving them a little independence (she was always helping out at the kindy so they were never seperated from Mum, and then couldn't handle it when they had to at school), so just wanted to point out the benefits of CC as I know as a Mum I have felt guilty about the prospect of it at times!

Hey Ladies I have already posted in my blog but thought I would let you know the latest.....
FINALLY after 4 calls to Aaron's paed I have been told that there was an increase in the CSF and has gone up from 9mm to 12mm...what ever that means
I am so P**** off that it took him a week to get back to me with this crappy news....WTF!!!!

Although with this increase he is still happy for me to see the neuro on the 26th unless I can get in sooner which I have checked and I can't but was told that once the CT is done next Monday I can wait for the films and take them to the neuro's office ( which is in the same place) and he will give them a look over and call me the next day for his feelings.

Ahhhhhh I just don't get it why the F does there have to be an increase....ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Sorry about to Me post... just need to vent.

On another note my baby is 9.965kg and 75cm long!!!
Not so little any more.

I am sorry I can't post any personals but it feels like my head is about to pop...at least we have left over shanks for dinner so I don;t have to worry about that.

Amy - Congrats on having a good first day at work! How lovely that you got flowers from the boss. And I think it's a good sign that the boss bought flowers for the other girl too. Sort of shows that he's a "good guy" ;)
Oh, and I think some of DH's family thought that Toby was a girl too! I googled it to check, it's a boy hehe.

Naomi - I might have to give the baby dymadon a shot. Might see how we go tonight with the panadol, but if he still really hates it I'll head to the chemist tomorrow.

Nicole - I'm so so sorry to hear that you didn't get the news you were after. Hopefully the fact that the paed didn't stress about getting him into the neuro sooner means that it's not as bad as it sounds. I'll definitely keep my fingers crossed for you!
Also, Kyson is the same weight as Logan! I weighed him a few days ago and he was 9.96kg :) I need to measure his length though.

Amy - yay for the first day being a good one - it sounds like this job is a good fit for you! i understand how hard the decision to put P in care is - we went through the process of working out which care to put E in before she was born, but my parents have said they want to have her (as has SIL, so it could be interesting lol) - mum and dad reasoned that they know how crippling my migraines are when they hit, and that i actually have a decent employer who will swap my work days, but day care wont... plus when we initially talked, DH was working away, so we didn't want her in care if daddy was home...

not a lot else - am feeling really flat - need to find some sort of boost before it starts rubbing off on the poppet

Hi Kat, J, Vic, Bella, Bridg (and I'm sure I've forgotten someone so HUGE apologies! I'm thinking of you though :))

Allira's had a pretty decent temp since Sunday arvo. Neither of the kids have ever really been sick before outside immunisations etc, so I feel a bit under prepared. She's been hanging up around the 39 degree mark. Drinking lots of fluids, still trying to eat everything in sight, moving around but not quite as much as normal and sleep.... haha what sleep? No idea what's caused this. She's had the runs quite badly too. I don't think I can blame just teeth on this.
She seems better this morning. Panadol would bring her temp down yesterday about .5 degree, but then it would head straight back up. To top it off, it was about 37 here yesterday and the fricking power went out. LOL. So after stuffing around we went to the IL's to cool down for a while. Good day all round really. LOL

Ok, someone's a bit grumpy again, so I better go. Pop back later and finish.

Aww girls you are all so sweet. Yes, about to have a teenager..I was 25 when I had her! 28 when I had Ronan, 34 when I had Laura and 37 when I had Cara. Nowdays everyone is having their bubs in the 30s.

Seaworld was a week ago! Time flies! Thanks for posting the pics!! Love em!!! Love the ones of Cara and Jemima with the dummy hehe

Krystie: Wow...yeah I can't believe we're about to have teenagers!! How do you cope being Mum to bub and the older boys as well? Do they fight over the computer? I know mine do hehe I hope Kyson's teeth break through soon. Poor bub. I know I had wisdom teeth when I was 27 trying to break through under the gum and it was so painful! (they were all growing crooked underneath though and I had them yanked out). That gave me some idea what getting teeth must be like. :( I had pain down one side of my face sometimes.

Nicky: I hope Allira is ok.

BG: Hope you feel better soon. We all feel down sometimes... Just rememeber it will pass. Being a single Mum to 4 is no fun some days I tell ya.

Nicole: Nice growing bub!! Cara is 11kg...so heavy. I wonder if the bigger babies walk later. I know that Laura did (16mths!) Yassie and Ronan were light weights though and walked at 12-14 mths.

there is a reason i'm feeling flat and i'm struggling to get back on top of things. last week i posted about going to Melb to visit rello's - my cousins husband was diagnosed with cancer while we were going through IVF and getting treatment during the pregnancy. i wasn't able to visit as the trip to the other side of Melbourne was just too much with how sick i was the whole time. he was given the all clear just after she was born, but because of having E, the trip was asking a lot (they are out in the western suburbs). so we didn't go and visit. just before Christmas, he was told he had the cancer back. last monday, we went to visit with my folks. E and I went with them - i wanted to see them, wanted him to meet E etc. the family were under the impression it wasn't so bad, but seeing him, i knew it was. anyway, he passed away on Sunday. i'm just not coping. he was a retired prison guard/govenor so always had this air of strength about him - but all i can see is the sick old man i seen last week. i have been struggling to deicde if i should go to funeral with E but i think we will

anyway - E has just woken so i best run. little lady has been really good lately, but is officially a misery guts tonight. teeth i think

We have a velcro bubba here too. It's worse when the boys are at school during the day.
I took Logan back to the Dr yesterday. He has to have a hip ultrasound, and now I have to go private to the pead as there was a 3m min wait to get in public. I've also been a bit down lately, so have just been lurking.

Logan had the MCHN last Thursday. He is 8.44kg. Right side he measured 70 something cm long, and the left side was 1cm less. He has grown taller, instead of getting chubbier. Leigh's side of the family are tall, so I guess he will be too.

Hi Everyone,

Well the IL's left for Tasmania yesterday - freedom for 10 days! They are ok, driving DH insane a bit, just hope DH doesn't morph into them - they don't listen to anything (well MIL is deaf in one ear but won't wear her hearing aid). At dinner on Sunday DH had a bit of a clear the air talk (I wish he would warn me about springing these things) after MIL got upset over nothing, it was fine and we told them if we didn't want to do something we wouldn't do it as part of the issue is them second guessing all the time and not saying what they want, DH and I are both straight talkers and I wouldn't take them round the sites have them stay etc. if didn't want to, so after that get back in car and FIL says to me - when we get back from Tasmania we can go stay somewhere else if it is a problem! - Hadn't listened to a word we had said!. Anyway is just nice to have the flat back to ourselves for a bit again.

CJ has three teeth now and the fourth isn't far behind - no new moves from her yet - still very chilled and not velcro at all. Her head is now 47cm so doctor has referred us to a paed (as is off girl chart - although the curve it is following is same shape as others), I am 99% sure all is ok, but happy to go to try and cure the 1% doubt.

Bridg - hope you get good news back about Logan's hips - if there are any issues check out the Hip Dysplasia thread as there are loads of people in there whose bubs have been diagnosed at all different times with lots of good advice (as well as Naomi)

Naomi - Go Bailey, that is just awesome he is getting about.

BG - Hope you start feeling better soon, I think going to funeral is a good idea - I am sure people there will speak about him in a way that helps you remember him the way you want to.

Jacinta - I try to schedule CJ's meals same time as ours, and often even when she has her own food (same as mine) mine still seems preferable!

Krystie, Cathy, Bella - I loved the pics of Seaworld, I have never been that into theme parks (although never been to any in Oz) but your pics made me think I might like to go. At the cinema they have this advert for stunt driver, I am not into that but love the way the guy says "On the Gold Coast"! (Went to see The Road on Monday night as IL's babysat - is a depressing topic but very good film)

Nicky - Hope Allira is ok, CJ had a temp like that but only for one day - no idea what caused it.

Nicole - Sorry to hear you didn't get news you wanted about A's head - hope that you get some answers soonish - I am sure is the waiting is the worst.

Bridg - Hope the hip ultrasound is clear - good to go private if you have to wait 3 months for public as with hip issues 3 months could mean a world of difference in treatment timeframes (Bailey and CJ are good examples of this!). Although I feel like a dysplasia expert now, Vic was so much help to me (and super supportive too), so between us as the other support thread we have you covered if anything comes out of the scan. Gimme a call if you need to chat - you know my number babe :hug:

Vic - Funny I was just thinking about you today as we hadn't heard from you in a while and then I remembered you had family staying. Sorry to hear the IL are a bit of a PITA. I can certainly offer sympathy from the "annoying-in-laws" support group LOL. I know they mean well but sometimes they are just clueless (actually often not sometimes!!). I took a photo of Bailey in a "reduced to clear" Port jumper that I let DH buy, and thought I'd do the right thing as they are Port Supporters so emailed them the photos clearly stating (and I quote) I in no way approve of this, and Kath this is NOT a green light to buy any Port stuff as it will be given right back to you hahahahaha, but I thought you'd appreciate these photo's before I destroy all photographic evidence! - she sent an email back saying (quote) i think this gives me the go ahead to buy him more port gear. Arrrrggggghhhh - they don't listen!! LOL

BG - hope you are going ok with everything going on family-wise. I hope the funeral is fitting and a nice send off

We are going well, I got my letter of offer today which outlines my return to work contract and it kinda made me realise - Yep, its definately happening. 3 more weeks after this one and I am back. I am feeling pretty good about it, but if I fall into a slump a few days before, give me lots of sympathy and pull me back out of it!! LOL

I was thinking that we should throw some dates around for another Meet Up later this year. I know it probably seems miles off (cos it is!), we all know how time flies, and for those of us flying over, we can set up a little savings plan for ourselves (I am planning to make a long weekend out of it next time! Maybe us interstaters could share an apartment or something). Anyway - what do you guys think? I am dead set on making this a yearly thang for us, how hilarious when we drag our 18yo's to Melbourne in 2027 hahahahahahahaha

well we have decided to change jamies eating at the same time as us and so far so good he had dinner tonite after his bottle he took a little longer than us but thats ok lol how do u wash a baby that wont sit or lie in the bath and wont stand in the shower?

J - get a shower hose thingo and attach to to the bath tap (they are about $5 from Woolies), and you can shower him off in the bath LOL (my GF does this with her very independant DS who also refuses to sit in the bath)

Bailey has dinner at 5pm (as he's in bed by 630-7pm) and then we eat once he's asleep. Once he is brace free and we can use the highchair we plan on having family dinner at the table altogether, but for now he is strapped into his stroller so we can feed him without him twisting, turning, wriggling away etc LOL (and I must admit I like eating uninterupted for now hehehehehe)

Naomi - i reckon it's a great idea to banter around dates for a meet up (and ideas as well!) - we were hoping to go to the zoo, probably in October (when it's started warming but not hot yet kwim) - so if we want to do a meet up around a zoo day... i'd love to do a birthday one in May too but i think that's pushing things! i might go and start an event thingy on FB and invite everyone and we can start throwing ideas around... all i can say is BELLA! if we plan an outdoors meet up, you neeeeeeeeeeeed to book a bigger room this time lol

am still very in the dumps - developed a nasty headache earlier and i took myself off to bed with E. DH moved her to her bed so i could sleep after her feed - had the worst nightmares. woke to the gorgeous thunder storm though, was nice. E woke up half way through the store, completely ok with the noise so we went outside and let her play in the puddles. not sure it's the best thing to encourage - but she was a wee bit hot and bothered when she woke up, so got to cool down a bit.

BG - love the playing in puddles, as E grows up she will LOVE remembering stuff like that. I remember our parents waking us up in the middle of the night to take us out to look at christmas lights - they SHOULD have left us in bed, but it was awesome driving around in our PJs LOL. I would LOVE a zoo day!!!! Maybe an apartment is not such a bad idea - would have a bit of room if we need a wet weather contingency again
