Public Holiday here too - Yaaaah
Nicky - Love the invite, BG I tried to check Emeralds but couldn't find it, have you uploaded it yet?
Vic - might give GimP a look, I have been using publisher which is very limited. I finally bought Bailey some of the Bonds Roomies pants (we have finally had some cool weather) - they come in thin stretchy tshirt type material, and also tracksuit pants fleece so bought a few of each, they fit over the brace with ease - YAY! Thanks for the tip.
Bella - the birth sounds very peaceful and fast - glad you got to experience it - I bet you are still on a bit of a buzz
Nic - you and Aaron are welcome here at babyland anytime!! LOL Aaron and Bailey can play up a storm!
Amy - Although I am going back to the same department, I am looking after a different team who have different tasks, so I guess in some ways its a bit of a 'new job', I'll have to learn the new tasks and team, so at least that will keep me busy, rather than just slotting back into my old role. Its still managing a team of people in Debt Collection, but the team I will be taking over are quite specialised (they look after long term debt such as 'bushfire victims, loss of job, medical issues affecting ability to earn a living, death in the family' type of thing, rather than the whole 'cant afford a bill cos I cant manage my finances' kinda thing). So I guess the main difference is the length of time we manage these customers for - eg for someone who hasn't paid a bill cos they just cant be bothered versus genuine circumstances which are usually out of the customers control. Unfortunatley most of our customers fall into the first categorySo I'll need to change my outlook as its a role that requires lots of compassion etc, wheras previously it was more about just getting the money in and turning people off. But yeah, at least I know the company, the people, culture and a pretty good over view of what I'll be doing. But mostly managing people is the same no matter what they do, the same issues still arise.
Hi Everyone else!!
Well tomorrow's the big day - my first day back at work. It's been a bittersweet weekend and my feelings about it change all the time, its quite the rollercoaster. Last night when I put Bailey to bed I just broke down, and for about 3 hours I just cried and cried, I honestly feel like my heart is breaking. DH as lovely and supportive but really there is not much he can do. It's pretty heart-wrenching and I am just hoping I can hold myself together tomorrow as I want to maintain SOME sense of professionalism in the workplace. Once I get stuck into it I am sure I will be fine, distraction and all that.... Anyway sorry to go on YET again but thats my 'goings' on atm
Well I can hear Bailey stirring from his morning nap....
Naomi

I think we can all sympathise, no matter how much we love our DHs or DPs, they really ARE on a different planet. I completely understand - my DH goes to band practise every Wednesday night, cricket every 2nd or so Thursday and Poker Fri nights once a month (and a few other odd things here and there), while I am MORE than happy for him to have these interests, sometimes we are having tight arse week or whatever and sometimes I think he feels he 'misses out' on things despite all things he does socially!! I NEVER go out at night, in fact I cannot recall ONE time since Bailey was born that I left DH behind at home except when I came to our meet-up last year (and he had a nice relaxing day as I had Bailey with me LOL). I know its not necessarily the same as the your issues but I think that more often than not the woman in the relationship does compromise a bit more, it just seems to be what happens, and it can really get you down when you feel like you are the one making the compromises or just getting on with it despite your own tiredness. And you are right, sometimes verbalising SOME things is just more trouble than its worth
I don't have a solution babe, you know your relationship best but I do want you to know that someone understands. We love our DHs to pieces, but they are not perfect (nor are we LOL). Anyway - if you want to vent, call me or drop me a PM or whatever
