Hey ladies,
I am a past stalker of the baby thread when we were all still preggers and have been reading through all your posts in this section since having my bubby. I was due on the 7th May and had my first little girl on the 2nd May. Birth went very average - not at all what i was expecting! Ended up having surgery immediately afterward to repair a 4th degree tear which was pretty horrible, however i have been really lucky and healing well with no foreseeable long term effects...thank goodness! I have been told that the reason for the tear was due to her large size (8p12o) and that she came out 'wrong' - apparently like a ski jumper! Unfortunately i have been advised by 2 obs and a top surgeon that my next baby will have to be born via c-section as further damage is very highly likely to cause long term issues with my bowels and bladder :(
Anyways, we are coping reasonably well. She wont take the boob no matter what we try so i have been expressing since she was born. Admittedly i have struggled with the whole concept and have decided to keep expressing until September and then put her on formula. She already has one formula feed a day and does not notice the difference at all...she really is a trooper feeder despite the issue with feeding from the breast...at the end of the day she loves her bottle and that's ok by me.
Bubby will be 6 weeks this coming Sunday...has anyone noticed a change in their bubs from about 5 weeks. A was doing really well with sleeping but i have noticed that her day sleeps are a bit all over the place and we can't seem to get her to settle until her 10pm feed. I have put this down to her having a bit of a growth spurt at the moment plus becoming a bit more alert...your thoughts?
Anyways i will try and actually keep up with posts this time...a new mummy resolution i have!
Hope you all have a good day.
J xo ;)

jcec, my little one is 5 weeks tomorrow, and she has been harder to get down in avos, seems to be 4pm ish onwards she is awake till alter at night and wont sleep, cries alot etc etc,
although sounds dumb but i think she teething, she has large lumps and sharps bit in 2 spots and chews on eveything, she has even started pushing the bottle aside with her tongue and chewing on it, not drinking,
but yea i think must be age thing with the no sleep stuff, she is becoming harder to settle nothing works
-
Hi Traylee,
I did a little bit of research on the 'wonder weeks' that have been discussed previously and A is spot on with all of the 'symptoms' of this and was dead on time coming into the 5 week stormy time! hopefully our little ones will improve over the next few days/week...we shall see how accurate the research is!

Hi JC and welcome back! Congratulations on your birth. What's your little ones name?
Wow we had a 4 and a half hour block of sleep! That's the best so far! Altho he didn't go to sleep until 10pm. He wasn't really hard to settle, he was just awake, watching telly and hanging out....
My boobies are becoming sore again, think I need to express in the shower again :( it's weird because there should be no reason for the swelling or lumps, he generally feeds equally from both sides.
Traylee - Sounds alot like teething - lucky for you you're not breast feeding! Lol
-
yea im gonna ask nurse today at weigh in, im staying up with her tonight as i want troy to come tv shopping tomorrow lol, its 3.17am atm
she slept from 6.30pm till 12, and still asleep now
i think teething i got her rusks naughty me and i hold it for her and she knawls at it, loves it, sucks and chews kinda mostly chews, but yea she has swollen bits inside mouth and stuff so not sure
-
Completely selfish post - I got a 6 hour block last night..woo hoo! Second night of big blocks - it appears (touch wood) the little man is learning to sleep longer at night! He went to bed at 7 (feel asleep on daddy at 630 mind you cos he only had a 20 min kip in the afternoon after his 3pm feed) and DP dreamfeed at 1030pm and he slept til 430am woke for a bottle and went back down until 7am. Is it weird I think he knows when his bath is due? and when he needs to wake up in the morning? At 530 most nights he is a bit cranky and crys until he has his bath and then is fine cos it is then bottle and bed! And regardless of whether he wakes at 3,4,5 or 6 he wakes up at 7am (give or take 10 minutes)....I am really trying to get him into a routine, only 7 weeks til I have to go back to work (hopefully I can get a job), so for both our sanity we are working towards a 4 hourly routine, which he has basically fell into himself! Fingers crossed we drop the early morning feed before I have to go back.
Someone asked - cant remember who - whether I am going back full time, I am going back 4 days and my family is looking after the little man initially (my nana, mum and aunty are sharing). So that doesnt make it too bad although I will miss my little man I have no choice as I earn significantly more than DP so if it was decided someone would stay home it would be him (I earn about 30k more per annum)....but that is the sacrifice I made when we decided to have bub - cos we purchased our first home and im sure I will be fine once I get back into the swing of things. I am going to go to each carers home and spend the day with them going through his routine etc so I feel comfortable with leaving him. Despite each of them being mothers I still want to know they can cope with my boy. I sound like an overbearing mother dont I???? Anyhow, I have told them they need to respect his routine - ie with self settling and leaving him to sleep by himself etc cos they all are besotted with him and all laugh at me when I tell them they cant nurse him while he is sleeping and not to rock and pat him (really he doesnt need it most of the time)....im babbling now!
Hope everyone else had a good night :-)
-
SM - You are not being overbearing, you are just being a mother - I won't leave my babies with anyone (not even MIL) until they are at least 1. Maybe for an hour or 2, but not long periods of time. Even at that stage I worry. It's just a motherly thing. Lol. And you have every right to go thru H's routine and tell them what you do and don't want. He's your baby and at the end of the day he is back with you and if keeping his routine makes it easier for you, then so be it!
-
my sleep wasnt alot lol, i stayed up waiting, but after her 4am feed i went to sleep for 1.5hrs lol, i actually put her in her cot in her room so could since she noisy lol
so she went from 6.30 till 12, then 4am then 6.30 so not to bad i guess, getting better maybe lol, i think she would sleep longer in her cot rather than bassinette cause that long sleep she had from 6.30 was in troys bed alone by herself while we wathced tv in my room
-
Hi everyone
We also had a good night thank goodness got some much needed sleep after being up since 4am the morning before i fed may at 10:00pm went straight back down fed at 4:00am and then back down till 9:30am everyone slept in so it was good.
weather is so terrible here so just staying indoors once again we havent gone anywhere i havent even put the car seat in the car yet for may as mum picked me up from the hostpital when we came home.
Superstar- i agree you are not being selfish i think it is important to stick to the routine you have set out for baby things can become alot harder if the routine was thrown into chaos.
Sleepy- i hope your boobs are feeling better i remeber with last DD i breastfed her and i used to shove cabbage leaves in my bra to help it seemed to work to well did for me.
Glad to hear you got 4 hrs out of E last night.
Tralee- I think all babies start teething at different times some earlier then others some later my first 2 started early but my last dd still only has 7 teeth and still teething she has been really slow getting them.
anyway better go feed little one i love just sitting back on the couch snuggling in this awful weather.
-
Routine - i think if you have a routine going others need to respect it. both DH & I get cranky when ppl try to interfer with our choice...or try to do things when we are trying to do something (ie a friend was almost pushing DH out of way to pick Z up when he was crying...they got in big trouble)
Sleeping - Z sleeps approx 9pm - 12am,12-4, 4-7. today was a good day so hopefully his night is as good.
Nappy rash - Z has gotten a rash with this cold weather. i need to uncover his tooshie for a half hr total time each day...poor sweetie
Nookie - TMI .. DH & I dtd last night, things appeared to be stopped for me but it has caused some bleeding :( I think we need to wait at least another week to try again :(
Bathing - we bath every day here. Z had his first shower yesterday - he prefers the bath in the washing tub lol
Weight - Z put on 320g this week, he is now 3.8kg!
-
Well our day has been rather unaccomplished. Lol. E hasn't slept more than 20min blocks today. He only wants to sleep in my arms. He has been farting the most smelliest farts today and last night. He hasn't pooped for 2 days - which is normal for a breast fed baby. Very unsettled today. I just hope he sleeps tonight as I didn't get any sleep today. :(
I have bathed him tonight, and last night so hopefully it'll relax him and we'll all get some sleep!
Breasts - They have settled down a fair bit. So that's nice :) They still fill up and tingle painfully when it's feed time. But I have come to find that expressing and massaging in the shower helps alot.
DTD - We dtd the other night, started out well, but TMI alert - when DH was inside, it felt like sand paper in there. Wasn't so much painful as uncomfortable. It hurt a little bit, and I think we should wait at least another week or so.
I think I may also have a bit of constipation :( I can't find time to go, I hardly get a spare minute. But I seem to have alot of gas at the moment too. I seriously don't feel very sexy! I hope you all are coping and having an easy time.
I would really like to feel comfortable with leaving the house alone too. I have trouble getting myself and 2 little ones ready to get out if the house, let alone on time. Is anyone else having trouble getting out of the house?
-
just a quick one - sleepy, I find planning anything around a time impossible. The girls and I get out of the house when we're all ready, whenever that may be!
-
i find iteasier to go out when troy is here to have scarlet, so i take hayley out with me when she home and leave scarlet here with him unless we al going, or he asleep then i take her.
she isnt to bad soemtimes but othertimes its hard,
tina sounds like sleeping like scarlet, she is roughly same times from midnight, the before could be anytime, im finding sheis awake more during day today she only slept prolly 4hrs from 7am till 9.30pm big day for her lol,
oh well hopefully she will sleep well tonight for troy lol
dtd we have only done it 2 times so far,
you guys with dry bits have u tried using lube to, as we need the lube cause of the condoms of course it was still but weird feeling for me sore ish, but once i relaxed and got into it was not feeling pain really,
so maybe try lube and relax and itmight happen lol and not hurt so much,
-
Hi everyone
We had a better night last night as night before M was awake most of the night with wind pains i tryed everything but couldnt get it to budge so last night we did the bath before bed and i used gripe water as infants friends dosent seem to do anything and we had some sucess which was great managed 6 hrs straight which is good compared to up every half hour.
As for leaving the house i havent taken M out of the house yet as it is so wet and cold and we have enough problems with wind now without going outside into the wind. I find it hard enough to get organised to do anything lately if i go somewhere i just leave M with DP.
As for dtd we havent even tryed yet half the time i end up out the couch or in with oldest DD. Maybe we might get time soon enough as bleeding and all has finished now (i think) every time i say that it comes back.
I weighed M yesterday and she is 3.4kg 7Ib 6oz so gaining weight which is good.
Anyway i have to go and tackle my laundry that is full of washing that i cant get dry etc.
Takecare everyone BFN

Afternoon everyone
We're back, we had a ball catching up with family etc but boy was it great to be back in my own bed! Plus I missed my furbaby :)
Car made it home but it looks like i'm going to be without a car for a few days or maybe even the whole 2 weeks DH is away while he pulls out the turbo and fixes it, just means I have to drive his 4WD ute and I hate parking the thing, it feels like a tank but on the upside the carseat in there is nice & high and easy to get A in and out of lol.
Oh lots for me to catch up on so forgive me for no personals today. I've had a quick read and saw we have someone new - welcome JCEC to our little group.
I've got my first mothers group this arvo, looking forward to it as I don't really know anyone else with a baby........well my cousin's wife had one last week but I don't have much to do with that side of the family - as they say you can chose your friends but not your family ;)
Will be back later, gotta go get ready & feed A before we head out.
-
Welcome Back Phoenix!
I forgot to mention earlier that E has started smiling at me. It's sooo gorgeous! And as for him not pooping for 2 days, he did a ripper of a poop last night at 2am. Lol. Of all times - 2am! But he's sleeping better today so that's good. Well I'm off to have a nap while he's asleep.
Hope you're all having a great day.
-
Afternoon all!
Been so busy, trying to keep up with the washing, house work, spending some 1 on 1 time with DD#1 and the inlaws have gone away so have to help out with the office work, theres been no extra time to get on here. I have been spending my nights on the computer trying to finish off my birth ann/ thank you cards so I can finally get them sent off, my goodness I'm tired!! lol Most people are tired cuz of their bubs, mine is just from staying up too late!
H has been sleeping beautifully, feeding VERY well and is fairly settled, but does have her 'witching hour' most days around the time I need to start putting dinner on of an afternoon! Thankfully she loves her mobile in her cot so I just keep putting that one for her until she gets over it.. I usually get enough time to get dinner all prepared by the time she gets over it.
Pheonix - Welcome back! Hope you have a great time at mother's group this afternoon. I really enjoyed it with DD, met some great ladies.
Outings - I take both the girls out a fair bit. I get over being inside all the time, as does T so I try to get out and about most days. Some days we don't leave the park, just head over to the office, T plays in the back yard or colours in while I'm working and she's happy.
Sorry for no other personals, I really gotta get back to this washing... I have 3 loads to fold :(
Have a great afternoon all!
-
Phonenix - Welcome back! Hope you have a good time at mothers group today.
Tiff - Hope you get your washing done. Mine is slowly getting there!
Sleepy - Hope you have a nice nap! I have only had 1 daytime nap since P was born. T doesn't sleep during the day so neither can I. I'm just lucky that P settles well overnight most of the time.
Taking bubs out - I try and get out a few times a week. I must say it is easier when I only have to take Phoebe but Tiana is getting easier to reason with all the time! I can also usually bribe her into behaving with a smartie cookie! I will not however attempt grocery shopping with them. That waits until DH can come!
I had my six week check yesterday. My uterus hasn't entirely contracted yet so I have drugs to stop the bleeding and antibiotics for a sinus infection I have managed to develop. I also got needles for swine flu and whooping cough. I never realised how dangerous whooping cough is for bubbas! I did however get out of a pap smear for a couple of weeks because of the bleeding! I am hoping to take T to the local show if the weather is good this weekend. I love the ekka but she is still too young for that but I think she will really love the local show! What is everyone else up to?
-
Ahhh, this is a bit of a vent. A has been so naughty this morning. If i have E in the sling (which I often do because getting her to nap in her bed takes a marathon effort which is pretty hard with a toddler), A is constantly doing things to provoke a reaction from me. I can't seem to get it right. I really don't want to get angry at A because I know she's doing pretty well given she now has to share me, but she's doing my head in! And i've been trying to get E to sleep for the past hour, to no avail. *sigh* Is a shower too much to ask for?
-
Hope the afternoon gets better for you pmccask! Maybe try a bath with all of you? I know it isn't a shower by yourself but at least you would get clean and entertain A while hopefully settling E?
-
Pmccask - I really feel for you. I know what you're going thru. Almost every day C does something to aggrivate me. I know he isn't doing it on purpose but it's usually at a time when my hands are full. I end up getting cranky, but feel guilty afterwards. So take a few minutes, try and make a cup of tea and relax. A bath is a great idea. If you'll all fit ;) that wouldn't work for me. But I did bath C and E together last night. So they both relaxed. E slept heaps better last night too. We all have good days and bad days, and tomorrow is a new day :)
-
Hey ladies,
Ok i am getting better, i have managed to post twice in a week! yay for me!!
I think it was sleepy who asked...my DD name is Amalee.
Things have been going well for us...A has been sleeping great guns and we had our first big nights sleep the other night - 7 hours!! i couldn't believe it when i woke up and saw the clock...although realised it had been a while as my boobies were killing me!!! She has been great since then - 4/5 hour breaks between feeds so finally starting to feel human! I have had a cold though which hasn't been easy, but my mum is on leave and has been a life saver coming over to help me with everything.
I really praise you ladies that have a new born and toddler - i seriously don't know if i can do it again!!!! big pat on the backs to you all - amazing women we have here!!!
Going out - i am starting to get the hang of it all now and forcing myself to go out regularly...although A usually decides to spew on me or herself as we are heading out the door and we have to start all over again!
DTD - not going there yet...if ever again! J/K! Due to the extra stitching i had, i was told not to do anything until at the very least my 6 week check...which is next week. I am hoping that everything will be all healed by then but even still not sure how comfy i will be to DTD again for at least a little bit...although i have told DH that i will be keen for other fun activities!! hehehe Traylee - i will def remember the lube!
Anyways, hope you are all having a good night...DH just settled A so i am going to chill on the couch
JC xo
-
BTW: What sort of 'routine' are you all getting into atm? Do you have specific times that bubs tends to sleep in the morning/arvo or do you just take it as it comes??? xo
-
jcec, i take it as it comes, she feeds when hungry sleeps when tired i guess, hayley never had a set routine till she was 2 lol, cause she use to sleep anywhere before 8.30 so we use to just put her tobed, when she hit 2 i started to send her to bed, and she is great since, always goes to bed when told etc etc, i will start a routine sooner with scarlet though i just find when they are babies it easier to let them feed and sleep when they want to as its easier on me i find they dont understand as yet
sometimes she sleeps well during day othertime not so well
im back to being awake from 4pm till 9 ish pm the last 2 days thouhg, but she only waking 2 times between 9.30 and 7am, so not bad i spose,
i guess mums will do what is best for there bubs and what easier on them,
-
HI JCEC, we have a set routine here (I know so many people disagree with it but it works for us), Hunter seems to like it and now he is like a little alarm clock! We are loosely following the Tizzy Hall routine and he seemed to follow that sort of routine anyway - feeding 4 hourly during the day! Only thing I had to do was coax him to feed at a more suitable time for a couple of days, I mean offer him food at 7am (even if he feed at 5am) and he now does the same thing most days :-) I am returning to work in 7 weeks so routine is the key for the sanity of our household!
Our day is something like this:
7am wake up to start the day (every morning he wakes anywhere between 645-715 of his own accord) bottle, play
815am sleep
11am bottle, play
1215pm sleep
3pm bottle, play
430pm meant to sleep for an hour - but most days he only kips for 15 minutes at time - this is his cranky time before his bath!!!
530pm bath and massage
6-630pm bottle
7pm bed
10pm dreamfeed
He wakes once during the night (last couple of nights he went to 4-430 but last night was 2)
7am wake up
Some days he sleeps for longer than others and his sleep times will get later as he gets older ;-)
Do you have a routine??
-
Hi ladies,
So I'm sitting here still in my PJ's, but having a good day so who really cares?! :) I have got a lot of my house work done, H has been an angel today and last night, only really waking for a feed, although she has been awake for the last half hour, but is happily laying on the floor kicking about. Last night we fed at 10pm, 3am then this morning at 7am... Wonderful night!! Then she slept until 9:30.
As for a Rountine - It's no existant really. She feeds roughly every hour. Is never usually awake for more than 30-45 mins, but does have a 'witching hour' of an afternoon and can be awake for a lot longer. She's usually down in bed at night by about 8pm and never usually gets out of bed until about 9am as she sleeps so solidly and falls asleep on the boob between these times so I don't like to disterb her.
Pmccask - I hope you're having a better day today! T has been a little 'trying' lately. I'm just not sure if it's the 'terrible 2s' finally kicking in (well I think I had it pretty good before, she would still play up, but not this bad!), or if it is having H around that has made her worse. T is fantastic with H, we have no probe there apart from her trying to sqeeze her for cuddles, etc. Enjoy your weekend, I hope DH takes the bubs for you for a while so you can have a nice relaxing bath/ shower.
Hope you're all enjoying your weekend. Time to get this baby off the floor before she cracks it! :D
-
Hi everyone
Wow i feel so alive today its great We Have had a huge turn around with M ever since we started using the gripe water of a night and putting her down in the pram last night fed at 7 slept till 2 back to sleep till 9 this morning hopefully things stay this way now.(figers crossed)
as for the routine i kinda just go with the flow but in the day i pick her up and feed her every 3-4 hrs as other wise she misses feeds and then the night can become abit disasterous if i didnt pick her up in the day to feed she would sleep all day.
I sometimes dont get out of my pj's either till all hours and sometimes would just love to jump in the shower but never seems to happen when i want it to.
Quick question How much weight have your bubs gained since birth?
I hope everyone has a great weekend.
takecare and bye for now.
-
Hi Guys!
I suck.
I have so much to catch up on, its just not funny!
I've been trying to keep up, but with Dr appointments, harness adjustments, visitors and sick hubby its gotten away from me!
I'll try and be better from now on.
-
hi all
routine - we don't really have one yet. E is feeding about every 2.5-3.5hrs during the day, ideally doing feed, play, sleep but having a bit of trouble with the sleep component this week. Then in bed by about 8pm after a bath and feed. Sometimes takes a while to get her to sleep, but once she's down she is waking around 12:30/1am, then again some time between 4 and 6am. Superstar, I'm VERY jealous of your routine. From memory we started something fairly similar with A when she was about 2 months, once she was sleeping in longer blocks during the night. I am a creature of habit and really need a routine but have been finding it very hard to form much of one just yet.
weight - I haven't had E weighed in a couple of weeks, but she'd put on what she lost and about 200g more when we had her checked at 2 weeks.
-
Evening all,
I am currently enjoying a nice relaxing evening on my own! yay! My DH has gone to watch the rugby at my parents and taken DD with him...so nice to be on my own!
As for our routine - we have nothing particularly set - during the day i try and put A down for a sleep late morning and late arvo but generally just let her sleep when she wants to. Night time we have a bit more of a set routine i guess. She has a feed by 8pm and we put her in the cot to sleep - sometimes she just lies there and looks around but she is usually pretty happy to keep herself amused if she doesn't sleep. She has a final feed between 10 and 11pm and usually sleeps to 4/5am. Feed again and then sleeps again until sometime between 7 and 9. It's nice to be able to have a bit of a sleep in or get up and shower before DD wakes to start the day. Anyways, that seems to be where we are at at the moment. I have to start getting the day time sleeps a bit more sorted as i am going back to uni next semester and need to make sure i have a few block hours during the day to study.
Weight - Last time i had her weighed A was 4 weeks and had put on 500gms more than her birth weight - so had gained 800gms since leaving hospital - she really is a little chubba and looks so much older than she is!! hehehe i would say she has gained another 200gms at least since then.

With all this routine stuff has anyone tried a routine with a breastfed baby? I just don't know how it would work exactly?
SSM - Did you find it difficult to get H into the routine? What do you do if he wont self settle in bed?
-
Routine - we a demand feeding and Z changes his 'routine' every few days. he generally feeds every 2 hrs during the day, nighttime feed about 9pm, midnight, 4am then 7am.yesterday he started to go into more awake time and longer sleep blocks - i had 4hrs uninterrupted sleep & feel on top of the world!
gotta go - DH taking bub so i can have relaxing long(ish for tank water) shower
xxoo
-
Routine - MarniKat, thats exactly why we really don't have a routine! We demand feed our booby baby so a routine just doesn't happen. Just have rough bathing time etc.
A Qu for the day - I know it's very early days yet, but who wants to go back for another bub.. I don't mean just yet, in the future??? Have we got some completely families??? I desperately want another baby! I honestly feel like I could go straight back again as I really loved being preg and am just adoring having another little baby around, I LOVED my preg with T, but enjoyed this time so much more and as for the new born stage, I once again loved it, but am enjoying so much more this time. I definately will not being going back to have another one for a while yet, I want another 2 year gap, but I know I am defintately not done yet! How about you??
:hello: everyone. Nothing exciting happening here. Hope you're all having a great long weekend.
-
My last (looooong) post seems to have disappeared, which would explain why no-one has answered any of my questions! (Luckily everyone else has asked the questions I wanted to). For a moment I thought everyone was ignoring me!
Phoenix - How's the car situation?
BW - How's the harness going? Do you adjust it or do you have to go to the Dr?
Marnikat - I share your questions about routines with b/f babies! If B is hungry after 2 or 3 hours, I can't just sit there and wait another hour or two until it's been 4 hours between feeds! And if he's fast asleep still, how do you wake him for a feed? All we do is try to bath sometime between 6:30 and 7:30, then a massage and he always has a top up before bed, no matter when he last fed. He's been reasonably consistent at night though, but during the day can feed anywhere from 2-4 hourly.
As for self-settling, B has trouble here. He tends not to like to just lay in his bassinette and we usually have to re-settle him with pats and 'shhhh's in the bassinette 2-4 times and often he won't settle until we pick him up and rock him. Any tips from anyone on self-settling would be fantastic!
Tiff - Another baby? Not sure yet - still getting used to having one and not sure that I'd deal too well with having a baby and a toddler around. If we do, I'd like to wait a good few years but not sure how that would work out financially...
pmccask - I too am a creature of habit (school teachers usually are!) so a routine would be great for me. But I am slowly learning to go with the flow a bit more and am happy just to have a bath time routine for now.
Question - Is anyone else's bubba 'talking'? B has started babbling away, making all sorts of noises and smiling at everything _ shadows, his mobile etc!
Another question - What is a dreamfeed and how do you do it? I know B often falls asleep while feeding, but wakes as soon as I move him to burp him (and if I don't burp him he'll wake 10 minutes later in pain).
AFM - We survived our first night away as a family and even got our longest sleep at the hotel! 6 hours! However, B was quite unsettled yesterday and would only nap for 10 mins or so - we got 1/2 hour at breakfast and about 45 minutes in the arvo too. He must have been exhausted! We only got 4 hour blocks last night (whoever said that if they don't sleep during the day they won't sleep as well at night is right in our case).
A friend has lent us their bouncer to try for awhile and he just loved it this morning! Soooo cute - he grinned and babbled away!
-
Hi everyone.
Just a quick question for those who are formula feeding what formula are you using? do you have any problems with constipation? we are currently using s26 gold and i am thinking of changing due to constipation problems and wind. there is so many brands and not really sure someone suggested the nan HA gold then someone else reccomended the nan pro gold or karicare i have been told so many any help advice would be great?? i was told by the midwife to use the brown sugar remedy and have a few times but i dont really wanna be using it all the time either.
How often do your bubs do number 2's????
thanks sorry i have to run get kids to bed.
-
Caplaylolmay - I formula fed my second youngest after 3 months. I used Heinz Nurture. I dont like S26 at all. I used it with my oldest and suffered constipation so badly he was in hospital. But I found Heinz to be really great. No problems at all, and it was cheap and I found it mixed well as well. I will be using it again if I need too.
Sorry for the lack of personals, I will be back tomorrow as my sister is down for a visit. Hope you all are well.

Hey ladies,
I can't believe that my DD is 6 weeks today!! Time flies and i am a little sad as well as she is growing up so fast! I have now put away all her 0000 outfits as she doesn't fit them - had a tear! This time 6 weeks ago (it's 6.30pm my time) the epidural was just kicking in and the devil was leaving the building!!! hehehe
Tiff - as for another baby i am ure i will want another one eventually but at atm i can't even imagine what it would be like to look after two children...i always wanted 3 but now wonder if 1 is enough!!! hehehe I am an only though and i remember how lonely it was as a child and in my teens so i don't think we could just have 1.
Caplayolmay - i am expressing but also giving DD formula as i am not getting enough milk. i use Heinz newborn formula. It was recommended by a friend of mine who had twins. She was told by all the MW's that this brand is just as good as all of the expensive ones and DD seems to love it...no probs with constipation or wind at all, although i am mostly mixing it with breastmilk which apparently does assist with the digestion of the formula.
ATM i am a little concerned about my feeding. I am expressing every 3-4 hours but seem to only be getting a max of 100mls (DD is taking at least 120-150mls atm). Do you think this could be from having a cold recently and being a little dehydrated? i am trying to keep my fluids up but there is only so much i can drink! Can your milk just dry up suddenly??

i tried heinz due to constipation wiht the normal s26 scarlet kept brining it all up was to thin for her,
so i went back to plain old s26 and now its fine she poing reglaury lol,
at first when i boght her home it was drying her up and i used the sugar remedy and it worked, but now im not having dramas,
try just the normal s26, they say all gold formulas can do it more than the plain ones cause there is more stuff in it, but i dunno i used the plain s26 for hayley so thats why we using it again

JCEC - Not sure if having a cold can affect milk supply, but it sounds logical enough! When you express, does your supply change due to demand? Like with me, if B is really really hungry and sucking me dry or feeding more often, I will have more milk the next day. Can you express more often and see if that helps? A friend had one BB dry up but the other was still fine for months afterwards!
B is 6 weeks old today (but not til 10:49pm!) and it's amazing how much has changed in 6 weeks, isn't it? I still look at him and get teary, and yes, cry too, every time he grows out of any of his clothes. Luckily he still fits (just) his 0000 outfits and still has a couple of sets of 0000/newborn that are too big.
B loved the bouncer again today :D He has had red-rimmed eyes for the past couple of days and has been sneezing a bit and coughing a little. He doesn't have a temp though. We are wondering if he could have hayfever - is that possible? We're off to the Paed tomorrow, so I will ask him.
Is anyone still bleeding? I thought I'd stopped, but it's baaaa-aack! Not bad, just annoying now. Ob is tomorrow too.
