JCEC - I think if you express more you will get more milk. Failing that your GP may be able to give you medication to boost your supply.

JLeigh - I am still bleeding. My dr gave me medication to stop it on thurs but it hasn't worked yet. Its not heaps, more annoying than anything.

Tiff+2 - I don't think we will be having anymore. Simply because with my shocking pregnancies and anxiety I just don't think I would stay sane throughout it. I would love another baby though.

Caplay - I bf Phoebe but Tiana was formula and I used Nan with her. I found it really good.

We only had one wake up last night! I gave her a dreamfeed at 10 and she woke at 2.30 and then slept until 6.40! She was in bed with me from that feed but still she slept! She is growing so fast and I'm really a bit sad about it!

Who her wraps their bubs? Also does anyone use a sleeping bag and what type? It is getting so cold here and I am thinking of getting one for Phoebe.

Also is anyone leaving their bubs to self settle? How successful are you and how exactly do you do it? Do you let them cry?

Hi Caplaylolmay, we are using Karicare and we dont have any issues with number 2s. I think it is just a matter of trying one - I have heard that S26 causes it but my best friend and Traylee havent had any issues so I think it must just depend on the bub! The hospital said they rotate between Heinz, Karicare and S26 I think - although the doctor told me to steer clear of s26 - who knows what is right??? I didnt know what one to choose either! I just went with Karicare - cheap at $17 a tin from the good price chemist. But I noticed Heinz is regularly on sale at woolies.

Well Hunter is now out of all his 0000 suits and easily fits 000. Some of his real clothing (ie shorts) are still fitting though. He is growing so quickly - going to get him weighed on Wednesday - hate to know where he is at now! 6 weeks tomorrow!

Oh and someone asked about Hunters sleeps I think - I try to resettle if he hasnt had at least 2 sleep cycles (40 min each) - dont get me wrong he is not very good at the day sleeps some days - sometimes I have to resettle 5 or 6 times in the sleep :-) and he very rarely settles with pats or rubbing his head in the cot! I usually have to pick him up and cuddle until he is nearly asleep but I do this in his room - so I keep putting him down in the same place as he originally went to bed (he also sleeps in his bassinet)!

Oh and I am so excited he slept from 7pm - 515am with only a dreamfeed at 10pm! Stoked!!!!!!! One happy mumma...

Marnikat - I still wrap E, he likes it and he sleeps better when I do. I have a few sleepng bags, but they still too big. C was born in July, so I had them from him. Just none small enough.

We had a shocker of a night last night. I went to bed at 11, E woke at 1, then 5. I kept him with me from 5, he was feeding on and off til we got up at 7. He hasnt slept for longer than 20 min blocks today, so I am totally exhausted right now. Can't wait to go to bed!

I stopped bleeding about a week or more ago. DH and I dtd, with no protection, which won't be happening again! Lol. Was a bit uncomfortable, kinda like sandpaper, but it'll get better.

As for another baby - :rofl: If we ever had any more, it won't be for at least 5 or 6 years, once I have forgotten what this is like. I mean I love E to pieces, but I don't think I'm dealing with the lack of sleep very well. Lol. Plus DH has said no more. But I think if in time it was discussed I could convince him. But right now, the answer is no. Lol

Hi Ladies!

I hope you've all had a great night sleep!!

Routine: We don't have a proper routine as such yet, Kaylee is breast fed, and feeds 4 hourly during the day, and overnight, well...it changes, sometimes its 4 hourly, but usually she feeds around 6pm, then sleeps until about 2am, then wakes somewhere between 6am and 8am, then the 4 hourly feeding starts from then (if that makes sense).
We had a delightful little phase where she was sleeping 10-12 hours overnight, but as I suspected it was a phase!
(Something is wrong at the moment though, I'm suspecting a UTI, and last night she didn't sleep at all...well...no...she dozed between bouts of hysterics (which were around 5mins apart), and I stayed awake!

Sleep: As mentioned above, she's (usually) a pretty good sleeper. Her main issue is just after she dozes off, her dummy plops out, and if she hasn't quite hit a deep enough sleep, she wakes! We've rolled up a face washer and put it just behind the dummy and that helps.

Harness: The harness is...well...its going ok, its annoying, she doesn't like it, but she is very brave and deals with it really well...we had to buy a second one (at a whopping $270!) because she pooplodes and since we can't take it off at all, I have no chance to wash it. We bought a second one, so that when we go for the weekly adjustments, they put the clean one on, and I bring the pooploded one home and wash it!

More children: When they handed Kaylee to me, I looked at DH and said "I could do that...just once more". I have always always wanted 3, but DH is dead set on just 2...I'm hoping hoping HOPING he changes his mind!

Bleeding: Mine stopped when Kaylee was about 2 and a half weeks old. And last week I had my first AF.
Oh and for those of you BFing...AF (usually the onset, and when its finishing), changes your milk...you may find bubs won't feed very well for the 24 hours leading up to AF, and the 12-24 as it leaves.

Siblings: Benjamin is GREAT with Kaylee, we are so lucky, and he has just taken all this in his stride. He occasionally tries to test the limits, but its just not in him to be a terrible two!

DTD: DH has been "back on the horse" as he put it since Kaylee was 5 weeks. My stitches were gone when Kaylee was 4 weeks, so we gave it an extra week, and then went for it, and all was good :D
I'm off to the Dr on Thursday for Kaylee's vaccinations (assuming our trip to the Dr today is nothing serious!), and to get the minipill for me.


AFM: All is good here, busy with harness adjustments, Dr appointments etc, but overall, its all great!

:hello: to you all! I'm hoping to try and keep visiting and posting a little more!!

Milk - I am BF and I find that I can sometimes express between feeds (an hour after Zen has fed) and by the time he feeds again i am full. I have been told supply replenishes in about a half hour. So JCEC, maybe try to express more often if you can find the time :)

Bleeding - Mine had appeared to stop but after Dh and I dtd it seems to have restarted, very light but enough to need a liner...grrrr

Size - Zen is still in OOOO but I have had to cut the toes on a couple as he is long for them although they are loose on him otherwise. OOO is HUGE on him.

Babies - I have said it before - I only want the one :) I was an only child and I didnt mind, I was included in alot of the adult stuff which is what a few of our friends do with thiers. Right now I am so tired I would probably run in front of a truck if I was preg again lol

Self Settle - Zen self settles at night really well, I can put him down wide awake and he eventually 'talks' himself to sleep (he is really vocal!). During the day he is often good but he only dozes in small amounts if he isnt held. He doesnt get held except for at 2pm when ready steady coo is on and we have cuddle time

wrapping - i wrap Zen but leave his arms free & use mittens to keep his hands warm

Morning everyone, I'm way behind again. DH is back to work on Thursday so will have the computer to myself lol.

Routine - no real one here during the day, A is demand fed every 3-4 hours and sometimes I'm a mean mum and feed her to suit what I'm doing for the day. If I have to go out I will generally feed her just before we leave so I know I'll be able to get what I need done & home before she's screaming for her next one. We do have a night routine of bath, feed, try to settle & sleep which is good in theory because she usually plays up until about 10.30 from which she then sleeps until 6.30 - well has been the past week, so fingers crossed she keeps it up as I can cope with that, especially since I'm on my own from Thursday night for two weeks.

I have noticed that her night routine of being unsettled and not wanting to sleep is pretty much what she was like in my belly - she would be most active from about 7ish till about 10ish every night and would wake like clockwork every morning around 6ish

More Babies - I've always said I'd have two kids, so I'll be going back for another. I got my April baby DH so wants a December baby. Since I don't have age on my side (think I'm still oldest one in here lol) December 2012 is the plan, so over 2 1/2 years gap, think I maybe be able to cope. I've never been a real baby person but all that changed and I already miss the newborn stage & I'm so sad she is growing so quickly.

I was lucky in having such an easy pregnancy & delivery, I joke that it's a good thing I started late.

DTD - really starting to feel like it, but I have been getting this weird pain in my pubic bone right down there that comes on unexpectedly and makes me stop in my tracks. Got Ob check up tomorrow so will see what she says........plus I really don't feel sexy at the moment, I should, I'm the thinnest I've been in about 18 months and feeling good about how I look.

AFM - plodding along, each day things seem to get a bit easier and I'm a bit more organised....just a bit lol. DH was supposed to go back to work today but luckily he has to conduct some interviews tomorrow so I have him home until Thursday afternoon. Think a melt down will happen then coz I haven't really been on my own longer than a couple of hours and DH is so good with settling her when she's cranky. Also I've been able to leave her home sleeping while I duck out to go do shopping, now I am dreading tackling that on my own :o

baby wrangler how would you tell if was uti, i mean how can u tell why do u think it is, i have never thought about that with a baby before ?
im interested to know the signs and what to look out for

Hi All. I won't say Good morning, as I don't think its very good! We had a shocker of a night last night, E was up every 2 - 3 hours, so I didn't get much sleep. DH is home sick again, and I am sick now too. I have a head cold, and its so annoying. I am not sure why E was up so much last night, he had snot around his nose this morning, so I think he may have a touch of it too. I gave him a warm shower this morning, and he seems to be sleeping better now tho, I just need to be lying down, but as we all know, there are always a million other things that need to be done, and on time!

I am not sure if it's his growth spurt happening, he isn't quite 6 weeks, until sunday, so did it happen with anyone earlier than 6 weeks? He seems to be crying every so often while he is asleep, like he has wind pains, so I just dont know, but hoping it passes soon. I think he will be sleeping with us tonight, just incase it happens again....least he'll be closer to get the dummy in or feed. I nned to go to the Dr this week for my 6 week check up, so I might go tomorrow or something and see what she says.

E had a bit of a nappy rash this morning too, but I think thats just because he was really wet and I was trying tog et him in the shower, and he fell back asleep while he was saturated. I hadn't changed him since the 3am feed. It was freezing and he didn't need one at that stage. He has stopped pooping with eveery feed now, maybe he needs to poo and thats why he got a sore tummy too...all these things combined I thnk.....

sleepy scarlet is 6 weeks tomorrow and for the last says 4 days she has been pretty bad from 4pm till say 9.30pm, wont sleep or anything sometimes cries alot during it, feeds alot, like last night was like eveyr 1hr lol, so i think its growth spurt so yea it can happen earlier than 6 weeks,

although last night troy said she slept till 2.30am, and her last feed was like 9.30 i think, then she fed at 2.30 didnt wake till just past 6 for the next one,
she seems to be sleeping well during day, playing up avos, then sleeping good during night which is ok i guess, usualy she wll wake 2 times a night between 9 and 7,

i thought what is goin on but read about growth spurts, hayley was nothing like this as a baby, she did what she wanted and was good as i remeber lol

E usually unsettled all evening from about 4 to 9 or even 10pm usually. Then he sleeps for 4 to 4 and a half hours. Then a 3 hour block as well. But last night was the worst I've had so far. He has been asleep for a few hours now after the shower and feed this morning. So hopefully he'll be back to normal now. I had a nap, so I feel better. Except for this head cold. But I don't think I can take any cold n flu tablets while breast feeding.

lol sleepy sounds scarlet i thought i was only one with a bub who was unsettled all those times,
but usualy she has a good sleep for the settled time till next wake up,
cant complain i guess lucky she is good waking during night, like when she wakes for a feed she feeds and goes back down,

It's my birthday today :) A is being really good, and E is settled in the hugabub (wouldn't have a bar of her bed) so can't complain too much. E seems a bit refluxy, and I think A was about this age when she started with it too. Might go to the doc if it keeps up. I've cut out chocolate and icecream from my diet (I know!) and don't have any caffeine so I'll see how she goes over the next few days.

DTD - not yet. I had a decent tear so I'm waiting till the doc has had another look at the 6 wk check. Not feeling much like it anyway!

Sleep - E has done really well the last 2 nights. She still takes a while to settle, maybe 1-2 hrs but she's gone to sleep about 9ish (after a 7:30/8pm feed) then woke at 2-2:30am, then again at 7 so I'm stoked! If we could get the days sorted a bit better it would be nice, but I just don't have the time to put into trying to get her to settle in her bassinet as it takes about an hour at each nap. As a result I've been using the hugabub lots. I think I'll start a consistent effort to get her down in her bed in another couple of weeks. She's only 4 weeks old.

Babies - we'd always talked about having 3, but now we have the 2 girls have started thinking it may be enough. I think it's too early to make the call, but if we had a 3rd the gap would be less than 2 years.

Bleeding - still a little, just enough to be annoying.

Sleepy - I hope you all get better soon! Being sick sucks when you don't have kiddies to look after.

pmccask - Happy Birthday! I am sssooooo sorry that you've given up caffine, chocolate and ice cream! Wow I couldn't do it. Lol. Altho if I had to I probably would! But that really sucks! Go and have some cake at least! Lol

I've been fairly lucky so far. We've had a few windy nights in the early days, as long as I don't eat chilli or garlic, he's usually fine.

Has anyone had alcohol yet? I had a few beers on Saturday, and apart from a few big farts, E was ok. I had probably 4 over the course of the day, so I think he'll be ok if I was to have a few.

E sure is making up for the lack of sleep today. He has had 1 feed at 2pm since 11am. Hope he sleeps well tonight.

Unsettled bubs - B was unsettled last week, just like a couple of you are describing. It was like he was really windy, plus feeding more often, and crying lots and lots. It passed after 2 days, so sounds like it was just a phase. Now he seems to have settled into the feeding every 3 hours during the day, then 4 hours in the late arvo, then 6 hours overnight, then 3-4 again and back to 3 hours during the day again. I honestly can't complain!

pmccask - :happybirthday::happybirthday: B doesn't like caffeine either, so I've been having decaf tea, chai latte or milo (don't drink coffee) lately.

Settling to sleep - B seems to be getting the hang of self-settling at night (I hope!!) but can still take an hour and 5-6 goes at resettling during the day. We are persisting as I don't want to be like a friend who's bub had to be held and rocked to sleep until 7 months and then only ever slept for 30 mins before needing resettling!

Babies - We're thinking we'd like another, but not for a good few years (maybe 4 years). But we'll see how we feel between now and then. I don't think I'd be as good as you mums with more than one at handling a toddler and a newborn.

Sleepy - I had 1/2 glass of wine last week, which didn't seem to affect B at all. I think if you have it in moderation, and have it just after feeding as opposed to just before, you'll be fine. Hope you feel better soon (check the book inside your red folder as it lists the safest cold/flu meds for b/fing).

Phoenix - I reckon I'll be having a meltdown when DH goes back to work in 2 1/2 weeks too. Not sure how I'll cope on my own all day, though my wonderful Mum said she'd come over 1-2 days to help and keep me company!

Tina - B is the same with his clothes; too short in length but too big everywhere else. I hadn't thought about cutting the toes.

BW - We wrap B but keep his arms free, though lately have been just wrapping at night. We haven't done mittens even though he gets cold hands as we want him to be able to touch/explore with his hands. The paed today agreed not to use mittens but said we could add another layer around his middle if we were worried he was cold.

AFM - B and I both had our 6 week checks today and both passed with flying colours. I am good to go for a VBAC if we have a second, which is great news. B has gained another 500g in 2 weeks and is doing really well.

Sleepy - Hope you get a better nights sleep tonight and E is a bit more settled. A isn't pooing every feed anymore either and went two days between poo's & yesterday she was a little grump with belly pains until she got it all out, of course it's the early morning changes she does it and manages to get it everywhere lol and she's been in a better mood today so hopefully a good poo will settle E too.

I'm another one that has had a drink or two, usually straight after one of her dinner time feeds and with dinner and it hasn't been a problem - she's normally cranky between 4 & 10ish anyways

Well after a trip to the Dr (who was running an hour late...thank god benjamin was a good boy!), and her harness adjustment, Kaylee got over her "issue". The Dr suspected it was just built up wind etc that she couldn't get out, and possible cramps from the harness.

As soon as the orthotist took her harness off, the legs shot out straight (and stayed that way for a good 10 minutes) and she let rip like a soldier...and now, she's all good!

The kids were angels last night (thank god...cause I have a cold and after literally no sleep the night before I NEEDED sleep). Kaylee went down at 6pm and slept til 12, fed, slept til 6am, fed, and I woke her at 10am.
Boyo was asleep by 8pm, had a bad dream at 4, but after a quick cuddle he went back off to sleep til 9am!!

Oh and on the dressing topic, Kaylee has the following for bed:
vest/singlet
Long sleeve body suit (no legs)
Long sleeve/long leg grow suit
Sleeping bag (initially they had sleeves, currently a 2.5TOG growbag)
Mittens (she has her hands available all day every day, and mittens are needed at night as cold hands wake her)
minky fluffy blanket
flat sheet
cot quilt.

The room temp is always around the 21-24 degree mark

Phoenix - I would love a drink but still havn't, and I only drink vodka so think that is prob best to avoid for a while!

I had P weighed today and she is now 5280g! My baby is a little porka!

With the dressing thing, I am going to buy P a grobag. I am going to get her a 2.5tog one. She is in our bedroom atm and it is definately under 15degrees. Do you think it is fine to still wrap her as well? She still likes to be wrapped for sleeping but it is too cold not to use a sleeping bag. Any ideas?

TMI - Is anyone else still bleeding? P is nearly 7 weeks and I still have bright red blood. Quite a bit too. The dr gave me meds to stop it but it isn't working. There is no pain though?

Yup definitely still ok to wrap her in a grobag, I used to do that with Boyo when I was transitioning him from wrapping (which he ADORED) to the grobags.

BW - You definitely use more layers than I do! Boz is a frequent pooer too - I'd just finish dressing him in all your stuff then have to undo it again for the next poo (which happens several times a day already)! Do you find the mittens stay on? Boz seems to have the amazing ability to get anything off his hands and feet with a single motion! And the mitten hands on the wondersuits seem way too tight and restrictive.

Marnikat - I still have very light bleeding. The ob said yesterday that ladies often still bleed to 8 weeks and it wasn't something to worry about as long as it's light and brown. But bright red would be a bugger! P is a big girl - well done! How tall is she?

Phoenix - It's definitely an afternoon thing with these grumpy bubs - DH and I have just spent 1 1/2 hours trying to get a very very tired boy to go for a nap and man does that extreme crying get to you after a while! Not sure how I'll cope without DH to tag team with as I get pretty emotional seeing him so upset after awhile.

AFM - Bought a few pairs of long pants for Boz today as up until now he's only been in onesies except for one pair of trackies. I got one pair of 0000 and two 000 but not sure the 000 will fit yet.

Still can't find a white b/f singlet in my size though. I was a 12B while preg but am now a 10B and most makes don't come in a 10 or have been sold out or are only in black, which I have already. :wall: Any ideas? Wearing 4 layers is a real pain when feeding (yep, I am a true cold frog!)

wow you guys have big bubs already, scarlet was weighed today and is 4kgs, lol, she stll tiny, hayley was born at 4010 so she almost same as hayley lol

what am i gonna say if he asks if we have dtd lol, um yea we have 4 times lol, or say no we havent yet lol

i wanted to come down coast and use my pass to theme park and go on rides but troy says no way to early yet being only 6 weeks now, and 7 and 8 weeks whe we come down he thinks its a def no no cause of the gforce on the rides pushing my insides all different ways what a shame the pass runs out at end of month and i have only used it once last yr before i got pregnant so sad i wanna make most of it :(

JLeigh - I am only a size 8-10 and I fit the size 12 feeding tops at target. They have built in bra padding though. I also have Lovable singlets, these are my favourite! I got them from maternity revolution at Strathpine which isn't too far from you but they do mail order. They have no built in padding so are really good for layering and night time.

Traylee - Maybe ask your dr about rides? You may be lucky!

Well...I had a call from the Dr yesterday that has freaked us out a bit.
When I took little lady the other day I took a tiny wee sample from her with me too, to rule out a UTI as she was behaving like boyo did before his at 10weeks.

Dr did a dip test which showed nothing, but sent the sample of anyway (cause we had it, and it couldn't hurt...right?!).
Well, it came back 'ambiguous'. It showed that there was a bug in her system, but her white cells aren't elevated (which they usually are if they have an infection).

So, instead of vaccinations today, it's likely that I'll have to take her to have a new sample taken, but instead of catching it in a cup, they will insert a needle through her abdominal wall into the bladder and remove it directly (it's the only way to get a 100% sterile accurate sample).

We have to do it to get an accurate reading because otherwise she may crash quickly if the bug takes hold...boyo ended up with a lumbar puncture because we didn't know what was wrong (all he had as symptoms was a temp).....

Soooo all in all I'm crapping myself, and really upset!

BW - I hope everything is ok. Big :hug: to your and your family.

We had a not terrible but not great night. E went down at 10pm woke at 12 and 4.30am then 7.45am. I have no idea what a dream feed is, not sure if E is having one or not...lol. He did a MASSIVE poo yesterday afternoon, went all up his back, and down go his feet...he was wearing a wonder suit...lol. Lucky it was bath/shower time. I decided shower was best considering he was covered in it.

DH is really suck, he has the flu, influenza the Dr says. I'm glad I had ghe swine flu vacine, because so far all I've got is a blocked and funny nose. E hasn't got anything which is great! I have 1 child home, plus Cooper, so I still need to be healthy.

I think i've started bleeding again, which I'm rather annoyed about. It's only slight, so I'll see if it continues. Hope you all have a good day and get lots of rest!

BW - Sorry to hear that K has to have a nasty needle inserted into her tummy - that sounds just awful. Not to mention that she might have a bug of some sort. I hope it's over quickly and that you get good news soon.:hug::crossfingers: Will they wait until they know what's wrong before they do vaccinations now?

Marnikat - Thanks for that. I am a size 6-8 and I found the size 12 tops were just too loose and so I leaked everywhere. I bought a couple of sleep bras from KMart that I really like, so that's good. I agree that you can't have padding at night, but I don't mind it during the day (Still only a B cup now, which feels and looks huge compared to my old A cup boobs!). I will have to look into the Loveable singlets though.

Sleepy - Sorry to hear that DH has the flu. Does he act like a typical male with man flu, as if he's the only one in the world who's ever gotten this sick ever (like my DH!)? I hope you and the rest of your boys don't get it!

Well, B slept for an unbelievable seven hours last night!

DH and I were flabbergasted and expected to find him knawing off his hands due to hunger! We also woke him from a deep sleep last night about 7pm for his bath so expected him to pay us back last night by not sleeping at all, so it was a huge shock that he went so long.

bw so sorry to hear that, and as off flus, well hubby woke up sick yesterday and then last night it hit me, i have a snotty nose and sore throat to :( i had scarlet last night cause troy with his asthma is worse than i am i can take it better,

nurse stuffed up weight yesterday
she weighed her with clothes then took off what se think was weight in clothes,
but today at 6 week check dr weighed ehr nude and she was 4.25kgs, so thats good about 250 grams a week she gaining,
she has bit of wheezing in chest we gotta keep check on which sucks, and her cloggy nose to,

he said no theme park rides til im at least 3 months past it,

he didnt check belly but said im right to excercise now like as in jog and go for rides on my bike which is good

Hi everyone sorry i havent been in for a few days have been so tired and exhausted and busy with all the children.

BW- Sorry to hear about K and the bug poor little darling i hope everything is ok.

Bleeding- Mine has all stopped hopefully it stays that way.

DTD- Still havent even had a chance would really like to but every time i get in bed May starts crying so out i get again and then half the time end up crashing on the couch Maybe we might get a chance very soon if we dont get interupted.

Traylee- Theres nothing worse when they get a cloggy nose etc. hope she gets better soon.

Sleepy- hope DH is feeling better soon (to jleighs comment my DP is exactly the same)

AFM- Our little darling has turned into a night owl she had been so good and some nights she can be we have had issues with constipation which has not been helping with her wind so we changed formulas and last night we actually had a win she pooed all on her own with no intervention YAY and made things a whole lot better so hopefully that keeps up now and the formula is the right one She still getting abit of wind but it seems to be moving better today hopefully it moves well tonight also. I have had hardly any sleep the last three nights she has just been so unsettled and it has been taking anywhere between3-5 hours to settle her properly Last night was alot better though so i am hoping and praying we are having a turn around lets see what tonight brings.
I havent had a baby that actually crys in 7 years since first DD so this is quite a trying time for us the last 2 kids were so content and relaxed hardly ever made a sound they never screamed they slept you could actually put them down and walk away May is alot like our first DD who we also had trying times with but we are getting there and hopefully we can fix the problem and things get better.
anyway thats enough rambling from me.

i just read you arent meant to use like the oils in them just yet cause it can stop bubs breathing the menthol in it,

so apperntly to use with just the steam is air is good enough to help the breathing and clogginess,

we have a vapouriser and I've been using it together with saline drops at night as E wasa getting quite stuffy lying on her back for so long. Ours is an Allersearch Hippo. It's great. It's good when A has a cold too.

Hello to Everyone I don't know and my Belly Buddy Friends!! I'm Summah for those who don't know me. I'm a mother to 6 kids my youngest being Noah Born 14th May 2010 Time: 10.16pm Weight 4.48kg or 9lbs 14oz Length 56cm & Head 37cm. I hope to get to know everyone I don't know.

Sorry to those I do know for not being online sooner. My internet was outside our house in our shed. But the only time I could get online was when Noah was asleep but then I couldn't leave him alone in the house so I just order internet for the house so I now can jump on when Noah is asleep.

Noah is 5 weeks old tomorrow and he is just beautiful. He doesn't sleep for long in the day he sort of cat naps which is fine by me but sleeps from 8.30pm at night till 7.30am only waking once or twice through the night. It wasn't like that for the first week or so he was only going to bed at 4am I was so tired but then one day he worked out night and day.

The main concern I had with him after he was born was a lump on his head my doctor thought it might have been a cyst as he shouldn't of had one as my labour was quick and they didn't assist with the deliver. But it has now finally gone. The other issue he had was his muscles on one side of his neck were weak from the way he was laying in my tummy but we have been giving him lots of tummy time and I try to sleep him so his head is stretching it and it is now almost better. I have my six week check up next Thursday so can't wait to find out how much he weighs.

Noah and I go to playgroup on Tuesday and Thursday's now it's so nice to get out of the house. Sorry about my selfish post I can't wait to catch up with everyone and there bub's.

Hi Socks! Welcome back. We were wondering what happened to you! I thought you must have been busy since N was born, especially with 5 other kids. I was finding it hard at first with 4 now, considering I couldn't really put E down much. DH has been a great help, cooking dinners most nights and helping with Cooper where he can. I am getting better with the school routine and looking after 2 boys under 3. I manage to get a nap most days, but it's getting out of the house that I'm finding the hardest still. I don't usually get in the shower until 11.

We've had a pretty good day today, even got a decent nap. Hope the night goes just as well.

Hi socks well i am recently new to this thread My DD was born on the 14th May also at 10:40 weighing 5Ib 6oz and her name is May.
wow 6 kids we have 4 also and its hard enough with 2 under 2 lucky the other 2 are older and go to school.

Sleepy glad you had a good day i am hoping our night goes well also we have no issues in the day May just eats and sleeps but night godness knows what will happen.

Anyway better go get these kids to bed takecare and hope you all have a good night.

well i bought the vaporiser and troy went mad at me cause we cant use it anywhere cause of all the electricals cause of the steam wrecking things.
so after yelling at him i took it back and got refund,
im so sad and down i hate being sick and i have no family around to help me and im so down

sorry to vent i just ugh duno anymore really,
dr talked about contracpetives im annoyed that i cant go on anything as im not ready for more kids and i dont think i will be ever this one has been so different and i just got my body back and got pregnant again,

im grateful and i love my girls and my family dont get me wrong and i appreciate havng them, but its so much harder this time around :(

Sleepy - Yay for your nap! I wish I could have one but T doesn't sleep during the day so it isn't an option.

BW - Hope it all went well and Kaylee is feeling better. I think that you will have had to be more brave than her though.

JLeigh - I don't know if you can get to Chermside but David Jones has the lovable singlets on sale at 30% off. I picked up 3 today for $73, which is fantastic cause they are normally 35 each.

AFM - My baby will not let me put her down - if I do she will scream. If she is asleep she wakes and then screams. I don't know what to do. Any ideas? She wouldnt even sit in the pram today - so lucky I had my sling with me. She is crying again, have to go.

Evening everyone..........DH has gone back to work :crying:

But so far so good I haven't been home all day - we went and visited my bro who got back from europe this morning, took DH to airport, went to work for a visit as it's right next to airport & then back to my brothers to drop him off to pick up his car & then grocery shopping.

Have bathed A (my 3rd only attempt at it) and she went down to sleep with a couple of grunts, a huge fart or two and I haven't heard anything since from her so :crossfingers:

Traylee - :hug: hope you & your family are feeling better real soon, nothing worse than having everyone sick at the same time.

Sleepy - hope your DH is better soon and that rest of family avoids getting the flu.

Jleigh - YAY for 7 hours sleep, hope B keeps it up for you. Sorry can't be any help on the singlets - they don't make them in my size I find it hard enough to buy maternity bras!! I'm a 10-12 across the back but cups is where I have issues :) I have been wearing the kmart breast feeding singlets with bra underneath, they make good pyjama tops too.

Socks - Welcome back, great to hear from you and that Noah is doing well...... A has only now caught up to his birth weight. Have seen your pics on FB, he is such a cutie with all that hair.

Marni - Could she be getting some reflux or wind that affects her when lying flat? When A's colic is playing up at nights laying flat seems to aggrevate her till all the wind is out, then she settles and happy to be lying flat again.

Ahhh knew the silence would be short lived, seems like I'm not going to get away with bragging to DH that she went down without a struggle.

Hi Girls,

I'm sorry, I haven't had a chance to catch up today.

We went to the Dr today and then to the emergency department to have the suprapubic aspiration done.

They tried once, it didn't work..they tried 10 minutes later...it didn't work...then a little later they tried a catheter...it took 20 minutes to get in...20! then only got a tiny dribble because the Dr didn't hold it in place when she applied pressure to the bladder and it shot out!

The sample again was a little inconclusive...there was no bacteria present at the time (but apparently it grew in culture the other day, so they are waiting to see if it does it overnight tonight), but this time her white cell count was up.

7 Hours later we got to leave!

They have given her a dose of gentomicin to fight the infection of thats what it it, and we head back tomorrow morning (9am) for an appt with the paediatrician.
Oh, and the gentomicin can cause hearing problems, so Kaylee will have 6 monthly hearing tests (we had the same with boyo....ho hum)

I'll try and be back for personals tomorrow!

Hi to Tina, Tiff, Marni, JLeigh, Marni, PMcask, JCEC and anyone I might have missed.

I had my check up with Ob on Wednesday & got the all clear and a script for the mini-pill. I have to go and see a physio for the pain I've been getting, it's apparently caused by stretching/tearing of the ligament in the front of pelvic bone - I can't remember the technical term. But apart from that all good and if & when I have another one she reckons my labour & delivery will most likely be quicker than than this one :o

I have also survived my first night all by myself......of course she didn't settle the first time like I was hoping but a 45min power nap, some some wind extraction (normally dad's job) and another feed she settled about 9.30 and woke up at 6.15 this morning. :pray: she keeps it up for me but not getting hopes up coz she'll be getting her vaccinations next week.

Phoenix - Yay for a good night! She is such a good sleeper for you, I hope she does keep it up. How did your mothers group go?

BW - Hope today goes well and little Kaylee is fine :)

Sleepy - Yay for the sleep in even if it means you are running late.

Traylee - I hope you are feeling better today. You would think it would be easier being the second but it isnt. In some ways it is but in others it is even harder than the first time. Hope that today is better for you.


Well last night didnt get any easier. She ended up sleeping - in bed with me. It isn't colic or reflux, she is happy to lie down with me, just not by herself. She is asleep and I lie her down and then a minute later she is wide awake looking around, then the screaming starts! I tried letting her cry for a few minutes in bed and that didn't work either. However in with me she slept from 10-3 and then til 7. So that is good, I just wish I could get her to do it in her bed. She is asleep in her rocker at the moment, on her belly, but I can only do that while I can watch her. Don't know what else to try?
