but today when she woke i gave her 150ml, then she had another 150ml almost 3hr later, then again 150 3hrs later, then 125 then i gave her 150 then before bed,
we have been giving her a bit of apple baby food for the last week or so, only a bit every day, took me a bit to settle her tonight im hopeing troy aint stuffing my routine as i got a job im working from 9 till 12 at the gym in the childminding area, then this week i have had babysititng after it till 4, so i am gone from 8,30 till 4 atm, so i get home play with bubs a bit then bath then bed, but tonight she didnt go down till 6,

anyways why do you ask cap,
scarlet actualy woke at 5.30am this morning i am like what the she usually sleeps till 6.30am but when i went in she had somehow managed to pull a blanket over her face and wasnt happy about it, but im glad she let me no so i gave her a bottle anyways and back to bed she went, but yea usually down by 5.30pm latest and up by 6.30am

    Afternoon all.....I'm still around

AHhhh we are finally moved - god do I have alot of c**p!!! lol We are now living at my mums in a coverted part of a shed, so essentially one big room with an ensuite - gonna be a long 10-12 months but I just keep thinking of the end product

I haven't been getting notifications so have a fair bit to go back and read up on.

A has settled in pretty well and her night sleeps haven't changed even though she is now in with us, she's even been having longer naps during the day 2-3 hours. Think she's having a growth spurt as she is feeding every couple of hours and always sucking her hands, she did it a few weeks ago and settled down again.

Seems nap time is over, I'm not sure when I'll get a chance to get back on as I'm not sure when our internet is going to be moved and DH is back to work so will be taking his wireless internet with him

Hope everyon is doing well and enjoy your baby cuddles.

    Hi ladies

Hope you are all doing well.

How do you ladies with toddlers and baby handle shopping?
i had a terrible day yesterday Mays reflux has returned with a vengance and i attempted to go do some shopping and boy now i feel like never leaving the house again with the 2 little ones May seems to hate the pram and screamed and cryed and just wanted to be picked up all the time and then Lola 19mths started also in the end i said thats it im going home i couldnt take it any longer i think it is because of the reflux May hates the pram/car and everything else atm i am thinking maybe getting a carrier/sling or something. do any of you have one? if so which is best? i have to try something else as i think maybe strapping her to me might be easier and shopping trips might not be as stressfull but she is quite heavy and not sure how i will go carrying her on me any ideas/tips??
I am going to ring the doc today and go back see him about the reflux and might even try the chiro.
We had a full night sleep last night again after 2 nights of waking i am not sure we could be going through a growth spurt to i weighed May last night and she has put on 185grms in 3 days which is great. She seems a little more settled today thank goodness i havent been able to put her down as she crys every time i do the last few days so havent done alot of house work i have washing backed up to the max and the weather is terrible so hard to get it dry.

Pheonix-Glad the move has gone smoothly for you may i ask i must of missed why you were moving and living at your mums etc? i know when we moved before May was born i still have a heap of crap to go through and get rid of etc you never realize how much you have till you have to move.

Traylee- that is great you are back at work hope you are enjoying it i was just curious to know what S was drinking having etc May is pretty much same schedule as S and having the same amount.

A big hello to everyone else

I am counting the days till tuesday Me and DP are going away for a night on our own with no kids and i am looking forward to spending some quality time with DP we dont get alot of time to do anything together atm and i cant remeber the last time we had a night away from the kids so it will be great but then when i do go away i feel a little lost without the kids if you know what i meen.
anyway sorry for rambling better go do something hope everyone is enjoying there day takecare bye for now

    hey cap
I am the queen of baby carriers :P I have a hugabub, a baby bjorn, a bubba moe and an ergo. My favourites by far are the hugabub for when they're little, and the ergo for when they're bigger - probably post sitting up. I never shop without E in the sling. A is easier to control if I have both hands free, and the hugabub gives me that. I used the bjorn quite a bit with A and it's fine, although the weight distribution makes it less comfortable than the hugabub. Saying that, I am thinking of giving E a go in it now she's a bit bigger because it gives them more freedom to move. If I want her to sleep the hugabub is great but the bjorn is easier to put on and has advantages if they're awake. I don't like the bubba moe at all. I can't seem to make if comfortable for either of us, so am glad it was only a $5 garage sale pick up.

    Hope this helps!

Pm- I like the look of the ergo and i also like the sleepy wrap which i think is similar to the hug a bub isnt it?? are the wraps easy to put on? and how comfy are they? do they hang down in the wraps at all?? sorry for all the questions i cant make up my mind i aint really going to use it alot only when i go out shopping and maybe around the house. What do you think of the mei tai's??
which would you reccomend for me? the wrap or ergo? i am looking at a couple of ergos on ebay hoping if i go that way i might get one abit cheaper as i dont really think it will be worth me spending that much on a new one if i dont use it alot if you know what i meen. also if i went the ergo would i need the infant insert?
Hmmmm so hard i have been trying to decide for days now.

    thanx for your help

hi everyone else will try pop back later gotta feed m

    hey all

slings - cap, i had a look at the sleepy wrap on the net and it looks pretty similar to the hugabub. Once you get the hang of it it's pretty easy to put on. The biggest pain I find is if it's raining. Because it's just one long sheet of material, when you first start tying it, inevitably some of it drapes on the floor, so if the floor is wet it could get wet. I tend to put it on before I leave the house then stick bub in it when we get to the shops if that's the case. If you tie it tight enough they don't hang down. It's really comfy as it distributes the weight across your shoulders, back and hips unlike some others where your shoulders take all the load.
If you went for the ergo I think you would need the infant insert. I haven't used the ergo with E, and didn't buy it until A was nearly 1 so can't comment too much on using it with littlies.

Breastfeeding - those of you bfing, do you find your bubs are able to go 3.5-4hrs between feeds? E seems to want to feed about every 3.5hrs but sometimes I find myself giving her a topup before her lunch time sleep. I'm kind of experimenting with it to see if it will help help her sleep longer (mixed results) but wondered if anyone else was doing any sneaky top ups in beween main feeds. If you don't count that, she's having 5 feeds a day with the last 2 pretty close together. I don't think I dropped A to 4 feeds until she was on solids.

E seems to demand feed. But during the day he usually one has one side......sometimes both. I generally just go with he flow, I don't count the feeds, he pulls himself off when he's done and smiles at me...some times he pulls off and goes back a few times before he's done. It's so cute.

I can't use slings. I gave mine to my sister...lol

E slept til 4.30 again this morning, thank goodness that week of terrible sleep is over for now....I was up and about at 5.30am yesterday tho. But I feel ok if I do that, if I go back to sleep for another hour I feel yucky. I did some me shopping today. Bought myself some new shoes and make up and even a new top, which I now realize I cannot breast feed in I spent $80 on make up tho...i had to get new everything as Cooper destroyed all the other make up I had by putting foundation all over it all! But a good excuse to spoil myself. DH has booked us a room in the city tomorrow night, so I can use it then..woo hoo! Can't wait!

Ok better goand get some things done while E is sleeping! Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Cap - I have a baby bjorn. I like it and Phoebe seems happy enough in it. When I shop I take the pram and if she gets cranky I put her in the sling. Grocery shopping I leave until the weekend and make DH come too. I pass it off as a family outing but really I am just too scared to attempt it bymyself with both girls.

PM - The only time P goes that long between a feed is at night. During the day she feeds around 2 hourly. However she will only normally take one side at the moment for some reason. And if I am going out or putting her down for a nap I offer her milk in the hope she will sleep/ be settled.

Sleepy - Yay for shopping for you (even if Cooper made the makeup a necessity). I bought t-shirts the other day and was excited!

Is anyone else feeling a bit flat atm? I don't know if it is lack of sleep or what but I have next to no motivation. I'm not sleeping very well and just can't be bothered doing much. I can't even say P is difficult. Since seeing the chiro she is a mostly happy bub. I think she is having a growth spurt but only waking one extra time for a feed and then straight back to sleep. Oh well, I'm sure it will pass soon! Have a great weekend!

**** its been FOREVER since I've been here!

I've been thinking of you all, but between the kids being sick on and off (they have been tag teaming!!), and Dr appointments etc life is just shocking...I access facebook a lot cause i can use it reliably on my phone...tapatalk (the forum app) hates me and always crashes!!!

I haven't been able to catch up....so I'll just quickly tell you roughly where we are up to at the moment for now and try and continue from there!

Kaylee is feeding 3.5-4 hourly during the day (and is finally back to drinking around 120ml per feed...when she was sick, I was lucky to get 50 into her!), she is up and down like a yo yo! (Up for an hour....down for around 2-3)
Over night she feeds usually between 5:30 and 6:30pm, then goes off to sleep. When she's well, she wakes anywhere between 2 and 5am for a feed, then goes back to sleep until between 7 and 8.
    When she was sick she'd wake at 11, 1, 3 and 5 (then I'd give up at7!)

We are off to the paediatrician in a couple of weeks to have some further investigation into the UTI's (she's now had 2), I hope we get some answers, but so far I've had 2 of my trusted GP's tell me that its likely that she'll end up on low dose antibiotics permanently until she's toilet trained (therefore poo wont end up up her front!!)
Her reflux is totally under control now (AWESOME!) and overall we are doing great!

I'm so so so sorry I've been MIA Ladies!!

    Hi ladies,

I don't think I got back here to tell you all how Miss Hadley went at the clinic last week. She is still 53cm (same as her 6 week check) & 5.7kg bare weight, so the 50 percentile for both and on the 75th% for her HC which I didn't ask what it was (they just made a note in her book. So all on par with a big head! lol

BW - I hope you get some answers to why K has been getting the UTI's, poor little baby!

MarniKat - I have been feeling a little flat but I think its due to being awake a fair bit through the night. I still lay awake around 3am waiting for H to wake for a feed which is now generally 4-5am and T has been getting up twice a night to wee lately, then I lay awake then too. Then DH wakes me of a morning as he feels I should be up and starting my day at 7 because he does (mind you he sleeps soundly ALL night!) lol so I guess thats why I'm feeling a little flat, I really don't do well without my precious sleep!

Sleepy - I love the full belly smiles when H pulls herself off the boob! It makes all the cares in the world just float away!

I hope you're all getting plenty of sleep and you're all happy and well!

Hi all. We are all sick with tummy bugs I was trying to fight off the flu last night, trying to sweat it out. I was awake most of the night too. I am getting DH to stay home with me' today. I don't think I can deal with it all alone.

I figured out that Elijah is having around 5 feeds a day too. But I'm a bit concerned as he generally only take one side during the day but both during the night. I have a very sore left breast ad he doesn't take to that side very well. He squirms and crys and carries on. So maybe it's mastitis which I hope not. But we all have the dreaded tummy bug. So we aren't happy campers around here.

BW - Don't be sorry for MIA, it's quite understandable. I hope you get the UTI's sorted out. That's not very good for poor little Kaylee

A big hello to everyone else and hope you're all doing well.

BW - hello there, you've had a rough trot with your littlies. Hope you get K's UTI's sorted out but glad to hear her reflux has finally settled

Sleepy - you poor things, hope the tummy bug passes quickly and everyone is feeling better soon. I don't blame you for making your DH stay home to help out.

Carriers - I've got an ergo which I haven't used yet I even bought the infant insert a few weeks ago but she seems to big for insert and she is still pint size and only 5.4kgs and too little for ergo on it's own. I have a nuture sling I bought of ebay which I use when out shopping and A seems to like that and falls asleep everytime she's in it.

BF'ing - A goes about 3.5hours between feeds during the day then starting about 5-6ish seems to cluster feed every 2hours until bedtime at 9-9.30pm then goes through til about 7ish next morning. She used to favour my right breast but past couple of weeks now prefers my left, I generally offer both and just go with her mood.

Feeling flat - I have been feeling like doing absolutely nothing and having no energy as well the past few weeks, had put it down to packing & moving. I also haven't been taking my multivitamin and notice the difference - have to go hunting through some boxes to find them.

Well we are all moved in at mums, I have a few things I still have go and get from the old place before it gets knocked down, but it's nothing urgent and I have a couple of weeks It's the first time I've lived home in 10 years, hope I don't kill my mother anytime soon lol.

A is a little out of routine being dragged out & about during day to old house to do stuff and also we've had to start doing our selections for new house. She has started waking earlier and earlier and yesterday it was 5.30, I had to get her up this morning to take DH to airport but she is now down for a nap.........she takes after her mum and is cranky as anything when she's tired Hopefully she settles down again.

    Hi ladies

BW- hope you get the UTI situation sorted out soon when i was little and still do now sometimes get them they are quite awful poor little darl.

Sleepy- Hope the bug leaves you soon i know how hard it is when we had the spews and poos a few weeks back it was terrible and i couldnt of done it if it wasnt for my mum coming and helping out as DP had it to hope you all get better soon.

Pheonix- glad the move has gone smoothly for you all.

    hello to everyone else

Not alot hapopening here M hasnt been to bad last 2 days waking at either 2 or 4 am but the dummy has been doing the trick lately but still taking abit to get settled at night before bed reflux has been good today i have stopped using zantac as it wasnt working and seems to make her worse now if she has it got a docs appointment next week so will see how we go.
i have brought the sleepy wrap and might keep a look out for another carrier aswell for when she is abit bigger but will try this for now when it arrives wish it was here before tommorrow as i have to go shopping and i havent attempted it since our last episode but will have to just try and cope mum is coming with me so will be alot easier.
anyway i better run getb these kidlets organised takecare everyone.

Cap - I hope shopping goes much better for you tomorrow. Having your mum will make a difference - I always like to take someone if I can. Hopefully you will sort out something with May's reflux. I know stopping dressing P in 2 pieces helped. Having that band around her belly seemed to irritate her.

Phoenix - Glad you are settled in! How do you think you will go living with your mum? And how fantastic that A sleeps so well overnight. With the cluster feeding how often/ and long does she feed for?

Sleepy - I really hope you feel better soon. Must be nothing worse that having a tummy bug and having to feed a bubba!

BW - Hope you can sort out K's uti's. They must be awful for her.

Tiff - Hi! Glad that H is doing so well. Did T like pre-school?

Well, P is now 6560g. I have a little chubba bubba! The chiro is still working wonders with her reflux, we haven't needed medication for it for 2 weeks now! So aside from not wanting to sleep sometimes I have a happy, contented little miss!
