Alison - check with your insurance for your car - you may be able to drive earlier than the 6 weeks. I know I did after mine because I needed to get to my physio session - and had to drive myself, and AAMI said that they had no rules or whatever for not driving after surgery and said if my OB was fine with me driving so soon afterwards (a week) then they had no problem with it either.

But yes I always hated the recovery. The midwives washing you down, and then taking out the catheter. What I hated the most though was not being able to feel my legs for ages, it always freaked me out. Plus being chained to a bed!! Arghhh.... I always felt so useless and I hated that. But you forget about all that eventually

All three kids are in bed now - finally - none of my kids ever want to sleep at night. I hope they all stay in bed tonight!!!!
