Hi Madame - great to hear from you! I wish I could have some of your milk too LOL! Sounds like you could just about squirt it all the way to W.A.! Not sure about work, I technically have to go back as I took the 2 months paid maternity leave, if I don't go back I have to pay back that money. But, in saying that, I can go back and hand in my notice, just have to give 4 weeks notice and I also have 4 weeks holiday's owing so I can use that as my notice if I want. I loved my job and the money for what I was doing was fantastic, it pays to work in the oil and gas industry that's for sure, plus I worked a 9 day fortnight so got every 2nd Friday off, but I found out yesterday that my boss is leaving in November (I'm due back to work on the 18th October - my wedding anniversary!) so it depends who takes over as to whether I'll consider staying. My boss is fantastic and he said he'd get me part-time....although the company is fantastic with returning mums and will accommodate as much as they can. The thing with me is that given I'm 37 this year and we would like a sibling for Amelia I may start trying again at the end of the year (scary thought) so not sure I want to bother with work or whether I will go back and work until I'm pregnant again or have another baby. Not sure, still need to think about it. The idea of hacking into the city and back every day again doesn't excite me too much these days! We shall see, things can change huh and I think it's too early for me to know what I want at the moment.
Hi Natty - Fenugreek is a natural herb that is supposed to assist in stimulating the production of breast milk. It comes in tablet form and you get them at the health shop. It also says it's for coughs too ha ha. I've been managing to get Amelia happy with just the boob for the morning feeds at least and just gave her another and she seems happy enough but it's still too early to tell if it's doing much so I'm still topping up with formula for now. It's hot in Perth this week too so she's extra thirsty. In fact, I just gave her a little bit of boiled water in a bottle as I went to visit my swimming friends and their bubs at one of the girls houses today and she didn't have aircon so it was revolting! Amelia was so hot and sweaty and cranky, she wasn't sure what the water was when it first hit her mouth but she drank some, not much but some. Formula does tend to dehydrate them more so I figured it wouldn't hurt. The swimming girls give all their bubs water and they're all breast fed!
Hi Kymmy - howd you go with your visitor? Sounds like Archie is a nice growing lad! Amelia's still in newborn nappies and 0000 clothes! Don't think she will be for much longer though, we shall see.
I went to visit the girls as I said, the house we were at today was not airconditioned and it's 35 in Perth today - it's going to be 42 on Sunday! Anyway it was pretty uncomfy, the girl whos house it was has 10 week old twins, a boy and a girl and a 19 month old girl, she's such a trooper AND she wants another! A real natural, I don't know how she does it, one's enough for me at the moment ha ha. We took another pic of all the bubs like we did last time, only problem was Amelia was bawling so she's going to be the only one who wasn't looking nice and quiet in the pic, typical! Amelia's the youngest out of the group anyway but they keep commenting how little she is, I didn't think she was overly small, I think it's just that she's long and skinny ha ha! She looks big to me!
Tomorrow is mothers group, I will go a little earlier as it's Amelia's 6 week check with the health nurse, got the paed next week. Tomorrow will be revolting as well as it's only a small room and it's also not properly airconditioned, it has one of those little wall aircons that you can only feel if you stand in front of it. We're doing baby massage tomorrow too, great in the heat, mmmmm!
