I have been lingering but havent had time to post...
Glad all the babies are putting on weight...Abbey is now 5.1kgs - she put on about 450gms in 2 weeks so I'm happy with that....
I have mastitis at the moment and I feel terrible....my right boob is completely sore and red and looks terrible....at least when Abbey feeds though it's not too bad....I feel like I have a head cold...I know they say that you have flu like symptoms with mastitis but that's what's killing me..I was so achy last night I could hardly move and it was about 30 degrees and I had a jumper on and couldnt stop my teeth from chattering...the the other extreme this morning when I had the AC on at 6:30am!! Have started antibiotics today so they should help...nothing's easy is it!!
Kymmy - Sad news about your pony....poor girl having to deal with that...when you had mastitis did you feel like you had the flu? Maybe I actually do have a head cold and it's nothing to do with that??

Hi Kymmy - oh no that's so sad re the pony . I feel so sad for your daughter, why is the pony going to Queensland????? I wish I could buy it for her hee hee. You'll have to try and find another one to lease and surprise her with it, will take her time to get over the other one but I'm sure another will help. Do they really live that long, same as standard size horsies? I'm not up with horses but I do love them, they have beautiful eyes horses. My mum had a couple across from her house when she lived down south in Denmark and we used to go over and feed them carrots and apples, so cute. As for the bleeding, mine stopped after 4 weeks for a week and a half and then came back again and only just finishing now and I'm nearly at 7 weeks!!!! I thought it might be AF but I don't think so cause it was really light in amount and not bright red, more the dark red and then went into the brown and then yellow - sorry TMI but it was more like what they describe the locchia (sp?). Either way I just want it to go away, I want to go swimming on Sunday again in this 42 degree heat, gulp! Actually, does anyone know an you use tampons after 6 weeks then?
Hi Arimeh - gosh yours are tall too! DH is just under 6'3", I'm 5'3" and my whole family are short so not from my side. My great grandmothers nickname was Minnie as she was so tiny and my grandfather was only 5'4"! My nana was taller than him ha ha.
Hi Shayna - you poor girl, that sounds so awful, I really hope the drugs kick in soon and help you, not nice in the heat, yuk. I have been lucky not to get mastitis but the roids or tear or whatever is in my bum is bad enough, getting there but taking it's time, it's so ouchy when I poo ha ha!
AFM - got 5 hours out of Amelia last night, when we woke at 3.00 am I BF'd her, then topped her up with expressed milk (3 days worth of 80mls that's how sad my milk is), I went to put her back in her bassinette and I put the dummy in her mouth (I bought Happy Baby ones yesterday so they're a bit bigger as someone told me they stay in better than the Nuk ones I was using) and I think I pushed it in when she wasn't ready and made her gag and she power spewed all her milk all over me and the floor. It even woke up DH as it hit the carpet ha ha. So, of course, then she was hungry so had to get some formula to fill her up again!!!! Talk about a waste of my expressed milk, that stuff is like friggin gold to me!!!!!!
Well, best go, she's fallen asleep in her swing.....might take the opportunity to actually eat breakfast now it's 9.00 am and might even have a shower, lucky me!!!
kymmy, you poor thing as well as your daughter... hope you dont feel to bad.. it must be so horrible to see her so sad and you cant do anything about it as much as you would love too im sure!!! i stop bleeding and then start again acouple of days later. have you been doing alot?? its been 4 days so im hoping its not going to start again now... but it would stop one day and then start again after a busy day.. (or if i was naughty and had been jumping on the kids tramp) had to have a few days of doing nothing to get it to stop, was getting worried!! hope Archie comes right soon.

took Ella for her 6 week cheak with our doctor... said shes perfict, just her head with the frontal fontanelle being small is his only concern.
we had decided 3 was going to do it for us... but im ejoying it soooooooo much that i can see me going in for nother in a year or 2. however my mum has been warning me to keep it to 3 as she had 4 and has problems now with a common acurance with a Uterus prolapse, have any of you had any problems with your body from having a large number of kids?? only answer if your comfortable doing so
Billy: I had a slight bladder prolapse after i had Archie. I was really really worried as i was reading all sorts of terrible things about needing surgery and even hysterectomies for prolapses!!! It was caused from him being fully engaged from 24 weeks onwards and the fact that he was over 4kgs. Apparently babies over 4kgs increase the chance hugely. Anyhoo, i went to see a physio that specializes in women's health who gave me exercises to do and within two weeks of doing these exercises it has all fixed itself up and things are pretty much back to normal! THANK GOODNESS! I was soo stressed about it! I later found out that the same thing happened to my mum and one of my sisters and my midwife said about 75% of women have this happen and it fixes itself before half of them even notice. So here i was thinking i was the only one and that something was seriously wrong with me! So i think as long as you do your PFE (and do them PROPERLY) then you'll be right. And think of all those women who have HUGE families.. surely they don't all have prolapses? It can run in families though.. something to do with the muscles.
As for the bleeding, i haven't really been doing too much at all! Just the ususal housework and stuff. I dunno what is going on! I have my 6 week check next week so i'll ask the Doc. Hope you and your beautiful kids are well
Alison: Thats great the 6 week check went so well. It is sooo amazing how fast they grow! My friends bub is 6 months old and i can't get over how much they change in such a short time! They go from little pip squeaks like ours to very "toddler looking" bubs in a matter of six months! It's amazing!
The pony is going to Qld as it's owner moved there just after we started the lease. She is a riding instructor now and wants to use him as one of her school horses. She also has an 8 year old son who will ride him too. I wish you could buy him for her too!! haha! But $14,000!!!?????? Hmmmmm... He is worth it though, if i had the money i'd buy him in a heartbeat.. when your child's safety is at stake you'd pay anything. Ponies generally live a bit longer than horses.. i don't really know why. One of the ponies Brit learned to ride on had to be put down last year due to cancer of the penis... he was 43 and still ridden every second day!!!! The more you ride them the longer they seem to live. Our old girl is blind in one eye and almost blind in the other which is very sad as she is a great pony otherwise. You wouldn't know by looking at her that she is almost 32!! But she gets sooo much love and affection by Brit and I think that makes a huge difference.
I will never lease another pony for her as it is too heartbreaking when they have to go back. I'll save up the dosh and buy her something she can keep forever.
JD'smum: Sorry to hear about your mastitis... sounds like ours is a bit worse than mine was. I caught mine at the beginning and got to the Dr as soon as i could. She said i was really lucky that i came when i did because it gets really bad really quickly. It's good that you've started the antibiotics, it should clear up pretty fast now. The fever that your describing sounds like it is from the mastitis... I really hope you start to feel better soon

I'v had a better day today.. took Brit down to my best mates farm where there is heaps to distract her from her sadness.. She is about to have a ride on her pony now and i'll walk with her then she'll go off to my sister's for a sleepover. Archie has been really good all day too.. Might get a chance to spend some quality time with my husband tonight!!! Might try to get myself knocked up
Hi Kymmy I’m sorry to hear about the pony, I can imagine how heartbroken your daughter is and it must suck not being able to fix it as that’s what you would want to do the most. I’m glad your mastitis cleared up quickly, I’m a bit paranoid about every twinge now in case I need to go and nip it in the bud too. I must be naïve because I thought it was only something you got when establishing bf.
Telly thank god for the Angelcare monitor though I don’t think Id be came to put her on her belly without it. My Aunty is a mw and said whatever works, especially with that monitor. Ill try the fan too although dh said he breathed on the mattress the other day and it picked it up..amazing really considering the sensors are under the mattress. Lol on Theo’s 4.5 kg! V is 4.6 now and she feels so much bigger than when she was a newborn (or is she still a newborn? I duno) I really feel for you then because I thought pushing her out at 2.67 was hideous lmao..
Billy I think prolapses are a bit hereditary..My mum had one back in the old days and they just gave her a hysterectomy but I’m fuzzy on the details. My mum has always had a weak bladder so I was a bit worried about my pelvic floor. My ob had a look the other day and said it was all back to normal and I don’t even need to do pf exercises either..Must have an elastic fanny so I asked dh if it felt all normal there and he said it is back to normal which is a relief…when I looked there after the birth I cried lol…It was black!
Alison, Noooo!!! That would have been so annoying to lose all that breast milk. Its great Amelia takes the dummy though V screams blue murder if you put one even near her which sucks in the car, yesterday she was so upset I had to reach behind me and put my finger there for her to suck (while driving mind you) so she could calm down..She will take a bottle of ebm though so I’m not sure how that works…must be from all that comp feeding at the beginning but well continue to give her bottles so she doesn’t lose the skill if that’s what you call it.
Shayna CONGRATULATIONS!!!! on Abbey giving you some slack lol I feel like I have been there with V and it is changing very quickly with us so fingers crossed for you two as well. Have you heard of the wonder weeks book? Id like to get it apparently it has all the developmental leaps in it and explains a lot of the things the bubbas go through so you can understand…Must order it myself….Sorry to hear about the mastitis too, as if you needed that too. Is there something specific that causes it or is it a bit of a random thing?

V and I went to the Sydney BB meet up yesterday. It was only about a 50 min drive there and about 15 or 18 ladies were there with heaps of kids but they were all pretty well behaved as far as I could tell. The lady hosting it had a big house so little groups could split off or mingle but everyone ended up at some point talking to each person…I think..I expected it to be a lil bit weird but I felt really comfortable so that was pretty cool although that might have something to do with my amazing social skills learned from constantly moving as a child and adult lol..When you move that much you have to actively seek out friendships otherwise you can really get lonely.. I’m really proud of myself I have started a few new friendships lately irl. Dh is really encouraging and I can tell he is relieved I am doing my own thing too. V was popular as she was behaving herself after her…..
MAMMOTH SLEEPTHROUGH!!!!! Woot! 2 nights in a row she has gone to bed around 11 or 1130 and woken at about 6 or 630 !! What a gift from her I hope it continues… We are going great guns with her sleeping and because of that she is such a happier baby. I have been staying up after that feed to do house stuff but Ill try and have a nice afternoon cuddle sleep with her as well because she is harder to get down in the afternoon..Too much excitement from the day maybe but she sleeps better in the afternoon with me but that’s ok because I have missed co sleeping with her lol..
Today is my friends bubs 1st birthday party and I am excited to show off my new improved happy baby so hopefully she keeps it up this afternoon lol. The other day I went to Myer and bought a new maxi dress (to hide underneath lol) it looks really nice on and gives the illusion that I am somewhat in shape hahaha. Well V has been back asleep since 8 so not sure if she will be up soon but Id better take advantage of the freedom and fold some washing, what fun…blergh..

I knew they were expensive, but that is obviously higher than average yes?? lol, gosh i hope so! We grew up out west, and a lot of my family own cattle properties, so we were always riding horses as kids, was heaaaappps of fun, so i know how special your pony must be to her.
natty that is so cool that you went to the bb meet up! And be damn proud of yourself for seeking out new friendships irl! I'm horrible when it comes to making friends, i really prefer to stay at home with a book, so going out to see people is a real effort. You've done well Hooray on V's sleep through!! That is great! Theo has been sleeping 5 hours a night in a row, which i'm pretty chuffed with too

Hi Girls - been out shopping, finally got a full food shop done, first since before I had Amelia! I've just been getting bits and pieces but was sick of running out of stuff. DH took Amelia around the shops while I did the shopping, was much easier, he takes too long buying food! I also bought a new dress, a pretty maxi dress - it hides all the bits that I haven't managed to get rid of yet (how depressing)....I needed something to wear to the funeral of DH's mate which we found out last night is next Friday. Bummer it's that day too as I have an appointment for Amelia's free hearing test that day, it's very hard to get into and now I have to cancel as it's at the same time! Really disappointed but what can I do, can't exactly not go to the funeral. I did ask DH if I should wear all black but apparently it's not that kind of funeral so I got a multicoloured dress but it has black in it.
Anyway, DH has Amelia on his chest, both asleep on the couch after a not so good night. Amelia woke after 3 hours (back to the old routine) and then again 2.5 hours later, not sure if it was the full moon last night but I hope she doesn't do it again tonight, nearly killed me! I guess I should be having a nap too but I never feel like it even if I'm tired, which doesn't really make sense!
Alison - Bummer about the hearing test, but you really have to go to something like that....will you take Amelia with you??? I hear you about the shopping thing....poor DH and I rarely go anywhere together anymore cause it's such a pain and JD is so naughty so I usually wait until one of them is asleep then I head out and do it on my own or vice versa...if JD wasnt such a nightmare then it would be a much less painful experience...hope you have a better night tonight...mine's not looking that promising so far...
tellytubby - Good on Theo for being such a great sleeper!! I'm the same with you about going out and meeting new people...I'm super lazy and just couldnt be bothered (isnt that terrible??). I have a few good school friends that I'm in touch with and see regularly but thats about it...I have a close girlfriend that lives a block and a half away and I'm flat out seeing her once a fortnight let alone taking on any new commitments!!! Very slack but it's just so damn hard sometimes and I dont have the energy to be bright and happy and making conversation with people...frig I'm sour!
Alison - You have become SuperMum havent you??!?!?! Yay for V for behaving herself for you..what a good girl!! Dont know about the Mastitis...wasnt so much the boob giving me problems it was the fever and my body being so stiff that knocked me about...2 days in on the pills though and feeling good now...thanks for the lovely comment on Abbey...her and V look alike with their dark mane's...DH's will have to have their shotguns ready in 15 years time!
billykat - I admire you for wanting another little one...they are lovely when they are so little and innocent arent they...I look at Abbey sometimes and think maybe, just maybe and I've already told everyone we have a pigeon pair and that's it but I guess you never know....I couldnt imagine myself having 2 kids and now I do. The Today show had a couple on this morning that have 13 kids and she's pregnant with their 14th....insane I reckon but the kids all seemed well behaved...god, when do they have time to DTD??? I'm too exhausted to do it with only 2 kids!
AFM - I'm feeling like I should have a routine going and I have nothing...some days I feel like she's on the boob all day and that she should be over doing that but if she's going ballistic then that's the easiest thing to get her to settle down so I just shove her on...I never know when she's going to go to sleep and wake up etc...my step sister has a little boy 3 months older than her and he has being doing his thing perfectly for months now, so probably from her age onwards...he's only up for an hour at a time and then sleeps for 3 or so hours...Abbey is up for hours at a time and only sleeps for 20 min's sometimes.. I'm such a control freak and I cant control this...I just want her sleeeeeeep for a decent amount of time puhlease...maybe I dont have enough milk or something and that's why she's waking up? I dont want her to vomit though if I top her up with formula and that's not really the problem (she's done this to me before...)
DH is pretty good but we have been at each other's throats the last couple of days...there is just no time out between the 2 kids (even though my mum is good and takes JD a bit there's still Abster the nutter of course) and are just snapping at each other constantly....just have no patience..between JD playing up constantly and Abbey being attached to me it's just not enjoyable at all. Mum took JD for the night last night and you'd think he'd be happy about that but noooo....I said that he is much better over there for the night having fun with her and being the centre of attention than being here and being screamed at every 2 minutes and DH had organised to go on Xbox with his mates anyway so it's not like he'd be spending time with him - I'd be dealing with it!! Men....I could run away and be a recluse sometimes for sure
