Thank you Natty, you reminded me to buy that book so just did off Ebay! Can't wait to read that. Just when you think you're getting somewhere they do a backflip on you don't they lol. Amelia has been asleep since 8.00 am and it's almost 10.00 am, very unlike her during the day! I haven't read the science of parenting, you'll have to let me know what it's like. Oh and not sure if I told you girls but so excited, I expressed 60mls yesterday ha ha! Took me all day but I got there. I said to DH last night at Amelia's last feed before bed, pretty sad when the main feed is formula and the top up is breast milk! On the positive note though I think the fenugreek and making time to express in between is helping.
Haven't read that book either Natty but it sounds bloody good!
Archie had needles yesterday... it was HORRIBLE!!! He was so upset and i cried my eyes out too! Surely they could think of another way to do it... like. i dunno, put it in a cream or something! haha! No but seriously, he was sooo upset.. i've never heard him cry like that!
On a brighter note though, I ordered a Bfing cushion off ebay and i got it today and it is so freaken AWESOME!!! I used one at the lactation consultant and it was so much easier and more comfortable cos you don't have to hold the baby up to your BBs, and as Archie is quite heavy, the relief is amazing!!!! I highly recommend it to everyone!
Waiting for my iphone to be delivered! Can't wait! I jumped in the pool (fully clothed) with my phone in my back pocket and it hasn't been the same since! Good excuse to get a new phone!
Have to take Brit to the orthodontist today... can't wait to hear how much her mouth is going to cost us!!!!! Also have to make an app to see a paediatric physio for Archie as his body is still looking a bit crooked... he also turns his head to the right heaps more than the left so have to get him checked out.
Going to stay with my sister for the weekend, they live near the beach so that'll be fun.. We are gonna do a spot of fishin (fisherman talk... haha)... i love fishing!! I don't stop til i've caught something... ANYTHING!!!!
okay how on earth do i find this video of the baby crawling????
i've been looking through fb but can't find it. ?
kymmy i hope archie feels better soon. i must be a weirdo mum, i don't cry or get upset at things like that.. haha. my poor wee ones, no sympathy from mummy! Your hair looks great too, your eyes are incredible!
lol ubba - i know!! but aren't they an awesome idea?!!? Theo is sucking on his taggie blanket as i type! The book i read on security blankets too, suggested getting two of the same type. Just incase one gets lost, ruined or anything you've always got a backup. Mum actually got me two of them from toysrus - she also spotted the sale! Oh they've also got johnsons wipes for 18.99 for a box of 6. I love johnsons wipes. so stocked up!
Natty nope haven't read it. I read the baby whisperer... i think? can't remember the name of it. But i never really did anything they said.. i'm a kinda 'go with the flo' kinda mum.. whatever works, i'll do that! lol. Have heard good things about it tho.
Alison dont stress about amelia going out of whack again! Theo is much the same. Only been sleeping 6 hours over the past couple of nights. crap happens. whatever works! And i'm total opposite. I think chubby babies are jsut the cuttest!!!!!! my gawd they're so cute!! My fried has a dd who is 7 months and 12 kg.. she is just adorable. love her to bits.
Anyway, took dd to music this morning, then did the run around to get myself organised. toysrus for wipes, bigw for nappies (huggies are 2 boxes for 66 bucks ladies!), woolworths for groceries, and target for a new outfit for dd for a bday party next weekend. When i got home i hardly recognised my house!! it was soooooo clean. absolutely spotless! Dh decided he'd clean it from top to toe for my valentines day pressie! woohoo! Cleaned the fans and EVERYTHING! No doubt i'll be surrendering yet again to the leg humping tonight, hahahah!
Hi Telly - I like chubby bubs, but not really overweight ones with loads and loads of rolls.....chubby and overweight I think are two differen things. My friend's bub is chubby but is so cute, she has little red chubby cheeks, adorable.
Hi Kymmy - ooh, where does your sister live? I'm right near the beach too, be funny if it's up my way!
Telly if you go back to old posts in your news feed it will show that alison commented on a video, jus click on it and it will show it. Im just getting the book for backup when dh starts his cc crap again lol I take all books etc with a grain of salt but this one may help me prove some ofr my already formed opinions...eheh tricky natty lol.
Kymmy another bf cushion fan here lol, Lurve your new look you are stunning! I hate hearing v cry in pain like that but her normal cry doesnt really get to me now...been there heared worse lol...I hope his shoulder gets fixed up properly soon, poor little champ!
Ali i hope v doesnt get fat only cause she likes to be held and it will be too heavy lmao..
Hi Telly - sorry I forgot to tell you where to find the video. Natty is right, if you search through my FB page and look at old posts you should be able to see it there. I showed my sister today, she agreed with Natty (funny as my sister is also called Natty (Natalie) hee hee. She said the baby is in distress more than anything not crawling. I did notice she posted on my FB comment about growth spurt that so is Georgia and I haven't had her usual daily bragging email so I'm wondering if something is up, the baby will be 2 weeks tomorrow, we all know that the wonderful first week of sleeping and doing not much else starts to change from week two. I don't like to be nasty and I don't wish anything bad on her but I still think she's in for a bit of a shock when the honeymoon is over so to speak. I just hope her baby is ok, this going 6/7 hours at night without a feed has me a little worried for the bub.
Hi Natty - I'm already finding Amelia heavy, I have sore knees and sore hands/wrists - guess being old doesn't help lol! (there I go with lol again...I blame my nieces and nephews for that!)
Telly - I think I just sent you the video to your FB messages, if it worked. I didn't realise you could send other peoples videos to anyone, that's a worry!
Alison that comment about the crawling that I posted on here...I actually wrote something a lot more opinionated but edited it out at the last minute haha I really do feel sorry for the poor kid if her silly mother is willing to do that and think it is productive. The poor baby is crying and looking for her mother, not trying to be mobile..grrr I wish I could email her and tell her off lol..
I checked out the vid - the movement is a reflex from being in the womb & she'll grow out of it soon & yes she does look distressed.
Mr I slept from about 4pm the other day - big mistake as he woke at 2am & wanted to get up, so I've been making sure he gets up in the evening (also DH gets to see him) The first time I got him up at 9pm, didn't get to bed till nearly 11 - its all a learning experience.
He's a thumb sucker now, which is good for settling as (like his brother before him) he cracks up if I put him down sleepy, but (unlike his brother) I just encourage the thumb into his mouth and he's happy. With DS1, nothing but being held or fed would settle him.
Hi Natty - ha ha don't hold back, tell us what you really think, it's probably the same as my reaction anyway!
Hi Snowy - exactly, I did mention that to her but she gets angry if it's not what she wants to hear so I dropped it. She insisted that it was crawling so I just went, oh wow isn't she clever. Ridiculous I know but she HATES to be told and I can't be bothered arguing with her.
Hi Ubba - check it out when you can, wow that article is interesting isn't it, it upset quite a few people. What are your thoughts? I haven't had to use controlled crying yet so not sure how I feel about it. I guess there are times you have to use it and times when you shouldn't/can't. Hmmm, tough one.
Hi Telly - let me know when you've seen the vid.
AFM - well my blissful 5 nights of uninterrupted 10 hours has gone AWOL, Amelia lasted nearly 7 last night so still good I know but it's still strange, I thought she might've found a bit of a night time routine but maybe not. I'm still wondering if she's going through a growth spurt, she's not unsettled so far today however. She started crying at 5.00 am so I went and got her, I got a bottle ready and by the time I came back she was asleep, only problem was I'd put her in the bed with DH to watch while I heated up the bottle. So of course I left her there, I know I should've put her back in her cot but I didn't want to wake her. She did stay in our bed until 7.00 am too....I really need to start trying to get her to go back to sleep in her bed. I think she might've woken because she had really cold feet - does anyone else's bubs suffer from cold feet? Her socks had fallen off as I didn't use her Grobag last night but a long sleeved/legged onesie.
We have a birthday party to go to tonight, I wanted to take Amelia with me but my 17 year old nephew has asked if he can look after her - we're going with my sister and her husband and it's her son. He's fantastic with Amelia (this is the one we think might be gay, not that that means anything ha ha) so I feel bad saying no. We will only be around the corner and I figure its a good excuse to only go between feeds for a couple of hours so I'm going to do it. Will feel weird, I've only left her with my mum and mum in law while I've been to appointments. I trust him totally as he's really great with her but will just feel weird. I don't even feel like going out, the thought of trying to find something decent that fits scares the crap out of me, too hard basket really!
the baby is in distress.. poor little thing. and i can't believe they honestly think that's crawling?? are they THAT clueless on child development?? how strange..
Ubba i liked that article. i actually forwared the link to a friend of mine who's been having troubles with her 1 year old and sleeping, she still doesn't sleep more than 6 hours at a time. she doesn't believe in cc, and a few of her mums from mums group have been having a go at her, and saying that her dd is 'naughty' for not sleeping. wtf? so i sent it to her. hope she likes it!
Hi Telly - terrible isn't it! And I hate to sound horrible but yes she is that clueless....when she came into the hospital to see Amelia she didn't even want to hold her as she hadn't a clue about how to hold a baby...I know not everyone has held a baby but given she's 28 and she was 8 months pregnant you'd think she would've at least had an idea!!! Funny though, she just emailed me to say that her baby has been waking up at 2.30 am and 4.30 am and doesn't understand what's wrong........she usually let's her sleep 6/7 hours through the night! Welcome to stage 2 of....the week 1 of nothing but sleeping and eating honeymoon is over. At least she'll be feeding her more, I was really concerned about that, it's so bad for their health and development to not get enough food in the first few weeks especially.
I tried to find that video but I think she may have removed it. It says she only has 2 videos. 1 is the baby in the bouncer and the other one is her preggers. Hmmm, maybe she has found you on BB and has seen your posts......
Got a kitten yesterday yay kitty lol she's litter box trained and sleeps all day but in hidden spots so I always freak out and have to search the house, not a fan of being held just likes being near by.....hunter was walking around with me saying kitty where are you lol so cute
I've been getting aching in my fore arm bone near my wrist to falf way down ,was first thing in the morn and come back again now, not sure what's wrong with it
