Al dont be so hard on yourself, you are not a failure at all. It is always a sad day when our kids no longer want the boob whether it be at 3 months 6 months or 2 years. Amelia will continue to grow and there are more things than your boob that are going to make her who she is going to be. Your love and affection play just a big a part in her development as breastmilk or formula. I know you will still feel upset for a while and thats normal, but you know she wont love you any less xxx

Thanks Ubbs I tried again this morning and no luck, she arches her back and kicks up a fuss until I give her the bottle, I can't force her so I will keep trying and eventually I will have to give up I think. I'll keep expressing for now until it dries up completely I guess. I am sad but you're right, she's healthy and happy and I have to remember it's not breastfeeding that makes her love me. I am loving this age as she is getting so cuddly, I just love squeezing her and don't they smell so scrumptious (aside from when they've poo'd lol). Some days I could eat her - DH thinks I'm weird when I say that ha ha.

Again thank you, it's the support and friendship from you girls that I cherish, what would we all do without each other to vent to and make feel better. Love you all. xx

PS - does anyone else's bubs get sweaty feet? I noticed yesterday and today Amelia's feet felt sweaty, is that weird?

I am so proud of my little girl! She was on her tummy and then rolled onto her back which I thought was very cool. 5 mins later she rolled back onto her tummy! I nearly started crying lol!

Yay for Ruby, what a clever girl!

I've figured out what makes Amelia giggle today, I nearly cried at that, haven't witnessed the rolling over yet.

Hi Mon - bummer for your crappy night. I think Amelia is going through another spurt, she's feeding every 3/3.5 hours instead of 4 again!!!!

    Hello All,

Arimeh: Welcome back! Hope the move went well and you and your family are all happy and healthy!

Alison: NO WAY you are a failure! You are a great Mummy! My mum and dad are foster parents and one of the babies that they looked after was being fed potato and gravy (from KFC!) and tap water at SIX WEEKS OLD!!! Now HIS mum was a failure! You, my dear, are an AMAZING mummy! Amelia is beautiful and happy and healthy and you have tried your hardest and given her the best start that you possibly could have. You should give yourself a pat on the back.... Love you too xxxxx

Ubba: YAY GO RUBY!! Archie rolled over yesterday too! he was rolling to get his dummy into his mouth and ended up on his tummy! He surprised himself i think! They are sooo precious aren't they!?

Mon: Hope Serenity isn't getting sick! Poor lil lass.. I'll keep an eye out for the card x

Natty: Glad you had a good day! Yay on the camcorder! Spoilt rotten! xxx

    Hello everyone else!

AFM: Went and picked up my pram..... I HATE IT! and so does DH! So i am doing a sneaky.. She also has a Mountain Buggy for sale.. One of the last ones that was actually made in NZ (unlike the models now which are all made in China) and so i rang her and asked if she will swap the Peg for the Buggy and i'll just pay the difference (its sneaky cos i'm not telling DH about the difference.. hahaha..what he doesn't know won't hurt him!) and she is happy to do that.. So yay me! I went in wanting a stroller and came out with a flamin mountain buggy! But it is in really good condition and it will be great for walking around here in the hills!

Gotta go pick up Brit from school! Ahh just saw the time!

Hi Mel - so great to hear from you welcome back, we missed you! Thank you so much, it's probably no big deal really, I've been having a hard time with BF'ing due to low milk supply so Amelia has been getting mostly formula since she was 6 weeks old. I was until 4 days ago managing one BF a day (first feed) still with a formula top up and express in between. Amelia is now refusing my breast, arches her back and flails her arms around screaming until the bottle goes in so have been feeling a bit of a failure etc. I'm going to persevere with the expressing, even though the most I get a day is 30mls generally because I figure it's better than nothing, will keep going with that until it's gone I guess or until I get sick of it! Amelia is such a great baby, sleeping 10 hours at night, very happy and smiley and healthy so I know she's fine, I think it's my issue. I thought about it today and I think I just blame myself as I've always hated my boobs....they're small and boring lol so I just knew I'd have issues ha ha. Seriously though, thanks to all you girls I feel ok now, just needed to vent a bit yesterday. Love you all so much for your support, you're all the best ever!

Hi Kymmy - lovely girl, thanks so much. xx I can't believe someone would feed their child KFC and tap water, my god poor child. I cannot fathom that, some people should be neutered like dogs and cats if you ask me. Hats off to your folks, that's such an amazing thing to do, they are obviously lovely people which explains why you are so gorgeous too. xx LOL re the pram, you ARE like me! I'm glad you found a better one quickly, bargain, the mountain buggy's are good, my friend has one of the NZ made ones and she loves it so I'm sure you will too.

Well, off to eat my healthy home made "gluten free" pizza, DH is down at the block until Wednesday. Missy Moo has been a bit up and down with feeding times today but we enjoyed a lovely walk along the coast with a friend from swimming this morning, got a little burnt on my chest and she's now asleep cuddling her little toy mouse I got her from Ikea - so cheap yet she loves it! I've discovered how to get her to giggle today and I so love it, every day I fall in love more and more. She loves it when I lift her up over my head and blow raspberries, she cracks up, I wish DH was here to see it. Oh well, he'll have to wait until Wednesday.

Hey Mon - we were posting at the same time. I'm so sorry about your grandad, that's very very sad. Hugs to you girl. xx

Hi everyone else hope you had a lovely Monday.
    xx

I'm so glad I went to see my grandad it made me realise that I don't want him to stay alive just so I an see him he's just not himself lying there on morphene he has a slight fever with pnemonia which there not going to treat cos even if he got better he would not have any quality of life vos his first couple strokes were blood clot ones where this one was a bleed out

Mon, sorry to hear about your Grandad. I miss my mum's parents & have been trying to see more of my Dad's now, but I was so much closer with mum's parents.

Alison - Mr I has the sweatyest feet! Has had since a few weeks old - at first I was thinking 'how did you manage to spew on your feet' as he spews all the time but we realised it was sweat.

    Hi Mel, welcome back online!

Better go order the lanyard. Thanks for reminding me Bec.

I just went shopping (bought lamb shanks to make in the slow cooker, where did I get that idea? ) Mr I was upset when I got there, so I HAD to go to a coffee shop & get coffee & cake while I fed him. Then he was upset when I got to the checkout & wanted another little feed, only 2 hrs after the coffee shop feed. Cried most of the way home but he's sleeping now.

We finally put the bed rail on our bed - I'd been saying to DH, we have to do it for weeks, finally did it last night, although Isaac hasn't rolled from back to front, I don't want him to do it for the first time off the edge of the bed.

I'd better get the washing hung and dinner cut up while he's asleep.

Hi Mon - I'm so sorry to hear about your grandad but you are right, it's best to pass then to be like that, there's another great place to go to from here anyway I'm sure of it. xx

Hi Snowy - hee hee, what's with our bubs having sweaty feet! I was horrified when I realised, I was like, oh no are you going to have stinky sweaty feet, not a good look for a lady lol. Oh yum lamb shanks, did you get that from me hee hee - I had lamb shanks last week, diiiiiiiiiivine! Enjoy!

Hi Madame - ooooooooh that's so exciting that Harper rolled over! Amelia is so close, today she was really trying, she's getting frustrated cause she just about gets there, I think her arm gets in the way. She must do it at night in her sleep though, maybe she doesn't realise when she's asleep. I've never seen it but can't wait! I've been getting lots of giggles since yesterday so that's her thing for this week. You're right though, it's all happening now and before we know it they'll be in school, so sad!

AFM - I bought Amelia the Bright Starts rocker/swing today, it was on sale at Target for $49 down from $100! The other swing I had MIL bought me originally but it's big and cumbersome and takes up the whole lounge and it doesn't rock all the time when you flick the switch, I think it's a bit of a dud. Anyway, this one matches her bouncy so she likes it, in fact, she's asleep in it now! It was funny as a lady came up to me in the baby clothes section at Target and asked me about my pram, she's pregnant due in July and wanted to buy the same pram so was keen to know what it was like. We ended up chatting for ages, she was so excited after I gave her tips on what to buy, what not to waste money on etc., she was really sweet, I said I was jealous of her lovely little belly and she said she was jealous I had the baby already, ha ha - we were having a laugh. Then her husband came back rolling his eyes saying, is she still chatting to you ha ha - it was funny. I walked away thinking how ironic it was because when I was pregnant I was standing in the exact isle of the same shop wondering what size to buy for a newborn and asking a lady with a pram that had a baby about the same age as Amelia. Life is funny sometimes huh. I also bought a little something for the friend of a girl I met on Saturday who was 27 weeks pregnant, due on the 11th June, 1 day before my bday and unfortunately her placenta came away yesterday and she had to have an emergency c-section, her little girl is alive but in a critical condition, they're not sure if she has brain damage as she was without oxygen for about an hour inside her. It's just sad.....I haven't been able to stop thinking about her so I thought I'd buy a little gift to hopefully cheer her up. Makes me realise that worrying about not breastfeeding anymore is ridiculous in hindsight.

Also, I'm going to see my hairdresser tomorrow, she's got a 5.5 month old but is now working from home yay. I'm so tempted to go a different hair style but I'm so scared to cut my hair off, it took so long to grow...........I just feel like a change now I'm a mum but want it fashionable still. I know me, I'll come out with just a trim as always....can't wait to get it coloured though!

Hi Everyone else, how are we all? xx
