Thanks Kymmy and Telly - you girls are so right, thank you, I needed to hear that. xx And Telly, me too about feeling sick thinking of going back to work, I don't have to if I don't want, we're without sounding snobby pretty financially stable - I sold my house last year (I bought it in 2000 with my ex and busted my pooper to pay the mortgage on my own owhen we broke up but so glad I kept it - even if it was vegemite on toast and 2 minute noodles for a while lol) and made a nice profit which paid a chunk of the current mortgage off (I rented it out the last 2 years so that covered my mortgage too) and we've been working hard to pay the current mortgage off....but still - I always thought I'd just do something by helping DH with his business to get a bit of a little income just for fun and spending (I'm a shopaholic)......but who knows. I was on a great salary working for an oil and gas company so it will be a big change but I've been doing it for 20 years and feel it's my time to spend with my girl now, like you, I don't fancy having a childcare centre bring up my child/children......nothing against them, just the way I feel.
Anyway girls, it's late and I've gotta pack for our country weekend away.........100 acres this time, I love this holiday house, it's so beautiful this time of year as everything is so green. I hope the guy next door's cows are there again, there's nothing like waking up and having a cow outside your window hee hee. Oh and Telly, wow your childhood sounding so lovely - I agree though, country people are so more relaxed and the kids are so polite and aren't spoilt with bloomin materialistic crap. Even though this is kind of in the burbs it's more tranquil....in fact, the street is called Tranquil drive lol!
Well, will check back in on Sunday when we get back. Have a great weekend lovelies. Take care of that little bub in your tum Kymmy. xx
he he he about the country folk..
must be why im so nice! joking. i love the country too. grew up here, moved to the big smoke, hated it in the beginning, then loved the shopping bars and restaurants, but loathed the city living. i love fresh air, wide open spaces, polite country people, grass for my kids to feel with their toes and peak hour traffic involving 2 cars in the opposte direction! Go for it ali! means theres more room for us all to come visit!
congrats mon on five years!!!! i agree too- long time for a youngin! we had our 5 year anniversary on may 1st.....i didnt give dh anything- figured giving birth twice was enough, he gave me a beautiful painting- but im into that kinda stuff, and we are going to go out for dinner when harper decides to take some ebm and is settling perfectly- actually will that ever happen?? x
i too don't like the idea of childcare bringing up my kids, so ill never go back to work, well not really. ill never work for anyone else again, we are lucky, well not lucky actually, its friggin hard work to own your own hospitality business. i dont care what anyone says, even if it is just a little cafe, we do EVERYTHING! so without sounding ****y either, we are comfortable money wise. now. weren't always. got a personal loan for our wedding, have a car on finance, and had $300 to our names when we opened the cafe, but don't owe anything. such hard work, but the only way we know how. So am i actually mad for opening ANOTHER business?????
i hope not.
kymmy, i hope archie sleeps better soon, harper can be a bit like that too. only sleep if i hold her. man, im guna look like pop eye soon with one massive arm from holding her. haha i just imagined that and laughed out loud. gee i love it when you read something or think of it and you lol. love it. i dont want to read over our old posts, ill cry, or really really want another baby now! but we just cant do that right now, i mean we could but we have enough to do. i hope by the end of the year though.
telly- i cant remember whats going on with anything in this thread without out seeing it. i wonder if that can be fixed, so i cant remember what i was going to say to you! how crap am i! terrible friend. oh well. i love you...does that do??
bec- lady you are doing so so well with your gorgeous clippies! well done lovey. im so happy for you. i need to get my sewing pants on and sew like the clappers to stock this darn shop! man do i have some shelves to fill. i hope i do you girls proud.
hello everyone else- sorry if i forgot you, i suck at the moment. pretty scattered...natty, suz, snowy, alicia.......
so, afm, harper is going well. she has wonderful settling, feeding sleeping moments, then terrible ones. but is generally a blissful baby. i have felt like a single mum for a while, dh asleep by 9 and he only seems to do stuff when i ask...gggrrr
last night was terrible, i was having a really tough time settling harper, was super tired and just needed to go to bed. so after 4 hours of feeding her, walking around holding her so she slept, i put her in the bassinette. she cries. i think, ok, ill leave her for a minute, just a minute to see if she'll settle, is 12:30 now and dh is in bed too. so she cries for a bit and he gets up and is like "ARE YOU JUST GOING TO LET HER CRY" coz i left it too see if he would get up and i was like blah blah im tired its tough and he got all well is it my fault i have to go to work in the morning- like you dont work you stupid cow so you should attend to the baby. fark me. i was so angry, i gave up and fed her in bed, me crying. i just want a break sometimes. i mean he works hard. but 2 babies is hard. i'd rather deal with them all day than the general public.....oh fark. the poor me my life is worse argument....are we the only ones who have that one??
sorry,
rant much??
anyway
so got the keys to my new shop tuesday!!!!!!!!!!!!!! wwwwwwwwoooooooooooo hhhhhhoooooooooooo!
can't wait, hope it lives up to my expectation and isnt too taxing on me. its a few doors down from our cafe and the street we are on is a bit wierd, like all the shop owners get along well, there is still politics, way too much to go into, but people gossip and ***** then pretend to be your friend......man...its not highschool.... anyway....im gunna rock it and show them all! oh, and you guys of course xox
i suck on the weight loss, down 600g in 2 weeks but have been terrible with food and no exercise. i have to do it though, i just feel terrible in myself. hate bulging over all my clothes.
good on all you girls though, wow! you are fading away!
ill be back tomorrow,
love you girls all so
xox madame
p.s
ubb- you natty and i ARE going to meet when natty comes to melbs, i dont care whats happening, we will make it happen....and i have family in perth and qld so those meets could happen one day too!
It looks like Ill be travelling down with V the week bfore dh does as hes away for work so I may aswell go down earlier... Its looking like ill be there on the afternoon of the Queens Birthday weekend and there for a week. Ill have a car I can borrow so maybe the Wed or Thurs would suit me??? Loose plans I know but how do you two feel about it? Would it be better if we went to Madames cafe? Hmmmm??? EXCITING!!!!
Mr I is going through a Mummy is the best thing in the world & nothing else will do stage, which while very flattering is a bit exhausting. He's also having trouble staying asleep (his noisy brother is not helping in this regard!)
We went to a positive parenting seminar at the CCC last night , DS1 was in the other room watching Madagascar, Mr I mostly asleep in my arms. The seminar was good mostly in re-inforcing what we're already doing (although I am currently guilty of having DS1 sitting watching Bob the builder) and was interesting in learning why the do certain things at childcare & why this centre is so good.
I made sweet potato pancakes for lunch & Mr I gave them a go - dunno how much was swallowed. Also gave him some microwaved sweet potato slices that didn't get grated and he sucked on them for a while. I have a problem stopping DS1 swiping food off the highchair tray, obviously I didn't give him enough.
I went into work yesterday to give back the basinette 'cause we hadn't used it for a couple of months & show off Mr I. I'm gonna do 3 days next month for stocktake (I'm the inventory accountant or I was until I went on leave) so DH is gonna have to look after both boys for those days and then do a bit more work from home to get it reconciled, but I'm not going back until mid-Oct & then it'll only be 2 days a week, although my boss did mention in an e-mail that I can ask for another 12 mths if I want - dunno if that means she doesn't want me back yet or what.
No ideas for anniversary pressies sorry Mon - I didn't get anything for or from DH for our 10 year last year (except Mr I, but we didn't know that at the time )
Sorry I have been MIA but the MIL has arrived from the UK and is in the room where the computer is so I only get on it a little bit!! She's already driving me insane and Ive still got a week and a half to go....I just have to keep reminding myself that its only 2 weeks a year so it could be worse....
JDs party is today and its bigger than Ben Hur!!! Cost me a freaking fortune and I didn't realize we have so many people coming...hope he enjoys it though...
On my Ipod and terrible at typing on here so will check in later...
Abbey still sleeping terribly but no point doing anything now when the MIL is here so will have to get onto that after...
Love you all and you all sound like you are doing great
xoxoxo
Woop Telly!!!! How exciting lol. V has also been mamamama but I didnt want to say because I didnt want to sound like one of those ppl who oh I dunno, say their newborn can crawl...lol.
mmm I want an Iphone too my samsung does not have an app....
Oh V is doing the rocking on knees and hands thing...She gets really frustrated and makes all these angry noises when she gets nowhere. Shes also getting addicted to the dummy which I never thought would happen...How are you girls going who are now patting to sleep? Dummies now or not?
Hooray for your ticker Kymmy lol I just loooked up and there it was lol I cant believe it either haha
Bad diet week for me Im dreading weigh in tomorrow....
terrible terrible diet week for me too, not looking forward to weigh in either
i know what you mean, after i posted that he said it i thought.. gee these ladies are going to think i'm a big fat liar. caterpillar crawling and now the dada? sounds a bit made up! lol! but i swear its true! Not too sure onthe uni tho kymmy, haha. A friend of mine, her little boy did everything early, and no offence... but he is now sooo far behind! its quite scary! so im hoping theo doesn't do something similar... oh the worry we have for our kids! I do wish theo was pumping out the mumas tho... lucky natty!! He's been saying it all day. im loving it. even as he's getting cranky, he says it in his cranky voice, lol. super cute!
sarah - harper is so adorable, love her little laugh. her name really suits her too gorgeous!
shayna photos of the party look awesome! how much did the jumping castle set you back if you dont mind me asking?
kymmy how are you feeling lately?? hope not too tired or too sick.
DH have been talking a lot lately about how many bubby's we want. At the moment i'm just sooo content with two.. i can't imagine having another! But then i think.. i would really love DD to have a sister... lol. im so undecided! Another thing thats really making me think is the carseats. i honestly dont know how you can fit 3 carseats in a car??? DS is in the safe and sound guardian, and DD is in the safety first... dont know what its called (6months to 7 years, the one with cup holders and arm rests lol ) I dont think another car seat would fit in our car?? and we have an 09 camry ?>? can anyone offer advice on that?
Thanks for the comments in the cake!!!turned out better than I expected!
Telly-jumping castle was just a loan from one of my friends from playgroup...her mum got it a garage sale for $100!!!damn bargain...great quality and brand new...feels like heaps better quality than the target ones that are about $500....
Abbey isn't talking or trying to crawl at all...sitting very well though and making all sorts of noises...like an animal and she's soooo loud!!! Don't think Im going to get my quiet little placid girl oit of this baby!!
On my Ipod again so only short....bring on next Wed when I have my house back to myself!!! Can't wait. God Im a horrible person...
Sorry, I've been quiet, reading but not posting. Had SIL over for her birthday (made Roast Lamb and one of Nigella's Gooey Chocolate Stack cakes) then my Dad came to visit yesterday. Dad and I didn't have any contact at all for 14 years and he's only visited once since getting back in touch (after DS1 was born). I've been very nervous about the visit and cleaning the house lots, but should relax a bit now. They're only here for a couple more days. On a positive note, I got to the goal weight I set on the Wii Fit in January, 2 days before my deadline and I bought size 12 jeans for the first time in at least 10 years! I've been lighter than this in the last 10 years, but I seem to be smaller in cms, not sure how that's possible???
I'm totally jealous of you Melbourne girls meeting up.
Alison - Hope you had a great weekend away and kept on the 12 Week Challenge wagon! Tough decision on buying your IL's place, but it is a good opportunity and you and DH can personalise it to make it yours.
Shayna - Sounds like the birthday was hard work but worth it. Will have to check out FB to see your cake
Telly - Crappy weightloss week for me too, totally dreading the scales but was pleasantly surprised with another 1.4kg gone this morning. Hope the scales are good to you this week. There's a S&S seat that's narrow width ways called the 'Compact', that might be an option for you guys as a 3rd seat. I've got a Kluger and had 3 across the back the other day when we picked up our neice. I'm sure I've read '3 seat' threads on BB. Number 3 is a definite for us, just losing the jiggly bits and getting fit first. Congrats on the caterpiller crawling and the dada!
Kymmy - Hope you're feeling great and not too tired or sick. Hope Archie settles quicker for you soon
Natty - Oh cute V with the mamama! Love that when it happens So much better than the 'Mum! Mum!' when they're older. Hope you have a good weigh in this week.
Mon - Congrats on 5 years! We're 5 years too this year (married on our 10th anniversary together) but have no ideas for presents, sorry.
Snowy - Sounds like Mr I is doing well with the solids. Ryan is eyeing off everything now and I've been giving him things to hold and suck on. He had some watermelon the other day but I put it in one of those little net thingies with the handle so he couldn't bite any pieces off and he loved it!
Madame - Hey, 600g is still a loss. I don't know how you do it all, new business and current business as well as 2 kids! Good luck tommorrow getting your keys, hope it all goes smoothly and you have the new shop stocked soon.
Can't remember much more. Returning to work? I've got another 12 months off paid leave, so no dread here (yet). Worried about childcare though, even though I have both boys down at the local centre, may have to do Family Day Care again. I haven't decided whether I'll go back full time or part time.
How are we all this morning? I am feeling a little sick... its different from my last PG, i was always sick when i was hungry, now i am sick after i've eaten! But it is not too bad, don't feel very pregnant at all, although my boobs really hurt, especially when Archie feeds Going for a u/s on 1st June just to make sure everything is in the right spot!!
I forgot to say ages ago that we have told Brit about the PG, mainly because about 2 days after i found out she saw my little belly and asked if i was pregnant again! But also because we don't want her hearing from anyone else. I also told my friend (the one who has been TTC since Sep with no luck) and she was totally cool, however her hubby (my hubby's BFF) looked a bit cut... She is actually going to see a FS today, only cos she is 35 and wants more than one child and is not even ovulating half the time, so fingers crossed something happens for her soon!
I have deactivated my FB account... My EX brother in law (absolute JERK! HORRIBLE HORRIBLE MAN!!) was logging on to my nephew and niece's accounts and pretty much stalking us so i just did not feel safe on there anymore. As much as i love FB for looking at photos and vids etc i just couldn't risk it and i just don't feel comfortable there anymore. So i will miss seeing you on FB but i will still be here!!!
Archie is being a good boy for mummy.. i have decided that i need to have a nap every day to function right, and so every arvo we go for a lay down together and sleep for a couple of hours. He sleeps so well with me laying next to him, but sooooo crappy on his own! Have read the no- cry sleep solution but coukdn't really get started as he is teething and a bit grumpier than ususal so it is not a good time. Bottom teeth still aren't through but so are darn close!! He is a very vocal little lad and LURVES mummy's singing (glad someone does hehe). He has been having a go with lots of different food but doesn't really get much down his gob, but no rush yet, obviously he doesn't need solids yet as he is a very healthy looking boy, good ol boobies!
Brittney is doing really well too! Netball started three Saturdays ago! I get so excited watching her games! They are sooo action packed and i always leave with a headache from yelling and screaming so much! All us mums (and dads) make a pact that we won't scream at every game but we can't help it!!! It is sooo exciting!
I don't really post in my new BBuddies group very often, they all write so much and it is sooo hard to keep up so i read a bit but don't post much. Its just not the same! I wish all you guys were pregnant with me again!! hahaha! Have picked a few names.... Boy: Sonny (DH's favourite Boys name, but unfortunately also our pony's name, mind you she is 32 years old and won't live forever! hahaha!) Girl: Stevie (I LOVE LOVE LOVE this as my dad's name is Steve BUT sounds a bit silly with Stokes as a surname, and also i don't really want three names ending in ee sounds!!) and Lola (this would have to be my fav choice so far, Brittney, Archie and Lola..... sounds so cute together!!!)
What do you girls think!?
Sorry was meaning to do persies but just went on rambling about myself and now Archie is cracking it on my lap!! better go play with him for a bit!!
