Thanks Stevie for acknowledging Leila turning 8 months!! It's crazy how fast time is going, we will all be celebrating 1st birthdays soon!
It is so quiet in here!!
Kass - how is the doula training going?
LJ - hope you are feeling better
Rach - hope the teeth come through properly this time rather than comeing down then going back up again, what a pain in the bum! It's hard enough having teeth come through once, no one needs for it to happen again & again with the same tooth!!
Stevie - if your house ever learns how to clean itself you will have to get it to teach mine to do the same
Hi to everyone else - we seem to be missing a few girls, I hope you all come back!!
AFM everything is going ok. I'm starting to get a bit worried about Leila's behaviour but hopefully it is just a phase she is going through. She has been sick too and is on antibiotics so I'm cutting her some slack but she is just such hard work sometimes!! Maybe once a fortnight she will sleep throught he night, the rest of the time I'm up half the night with her. She is not hungry because feeding her does nothing and I'm at my wits end! Even during the day she is a pain a lot of the time because she is becoming so clingy. At the moment she's on the ground screaming throwing a tanty because I'm not holding her....Cancel that - I'm now holding her to stop her screaming! She's all smiles now as though nothing was ever wrong yet 2 mins ago it was like the end of the world. I'm not sure how I can change her behaviour of if this is something that I just have to put up with until it passes. I just dont want her to end up being too much of a mummys girl or worse a tantrum throwing child who throws a hissy fit every time they dont get what the want! Dont get me wrong, I adore Leila and love that she loves me so much, we have a lot of cuddles & kisses and quality time together but I need time to myself too and dont want her attached to me 24/7! Any suggestions???
fi if you find a way around the attachment let me know, Luke will be fine then I walk into the room and he starts crying and carrying on, will crawl past jase and pull onme to be picked up then its all smiles etc I love him to death but there are times when I wish he realised his dad can comfort him, he doesn't need to cry for me to pick him up
as for sleeping thry had a great night tuesday nigth except jase and I got a bit TMI frisky and it was after11pm for us to bed then last night OMG...... he cried he carried on in the end he came to bed with us so of course I didn't sleep real well as I was trying to keep luke quiet so as not to disturb jase..I'm so tired and cold today and I know if I lay down with Luke (who hasn't napped today) he will sleep but Jack refuses to come lay down with us *sigh*
so any bday or themes worked out yet ??? we have the date set and possible theme
Thanks Rach, I'm glad I'm not the only one with a clingy baby!! Lets hope it passes quickly - its absolutely exhausting! Haven't thought too much about the birthday plans yet - what have you got in mind?
it will be a early afternoon BBQ at home, i dont want lots of junky toys so asking for books to build his library...a friend suggested doing a book worm party have a worm cake etc...but i saw a thing on FB today where they did this awesome sweet stall like a fair ground party looked like such fun so hard to decide
That sounds nice Rach, probably similar to what we are going to do.
Well I am officially over it! I'm at work but can't be stuffed as I've had no sleep yet again I can't take any more. Night after night after night of sleeplessness and I'm a wreck. I broke out in severe hives yesterday afternoon - I was literally covered from head to toe (including palms and soles of my feet... wtf??) with huge blotchy itchy welts. I've never had hives before, hadn't eaten anything different or done/used anything different so I can only assume they were stress related. leila was a handful during the day then wouldn't sleep last night. She goes to sleep fine just wakes up once, twice... 20 times a night! Sometimes for a mintue or two, sometimes (such as last night) for hours on end. It was 4am before I managed to close my eyes and by that stage i was so stressed and itchy that I couldn't sleep anyway. DH tries his best to settle her but she just wont settle for him. Day care are having more and more trouble with getting her to sleep which makes things worse at home too. So tonight I am doing controlled crying. I don't care that many people on here disagree with it, I can see that her problems are behavioural and I need to do something about it before I really do lose the plot. Nothing I have done so far has worked so maybe I need a harder approach. I have the numbers for karitane and tresillian so I will call them if I need help to get through this. Enough is enough I simply can't deal with it anymore, she has been like this for months now. I feel like such a failure. I feel like somehow I have brought this upon myself
I know how you feel Fi, excpet I get some nights where he sleeps thru others where he wakes every 20-30min *sigh* its hard thats for sure, I am sure no one will judge you for CIO sometimes you need to do what is right for you...I swore I'd never co-sleep but I do when we have real bad nights..otherwise no-one gets any sleep.. every child is different some kids just dont sleep...thru..Luke rarely sleeps thur the day which drives me batty he will only sleep if I am nursing him which is fine if I have nothing to do but I have to run around after a nearly 4 yr old as well
anyway good luck and dont be hard on yourself ... you need sleep Leila needs sleep...and gosh about the hives have they calmed down today ??
Thanks Rach I'm just at my wits end!! Its drives me nuts that John tries to settle her at night and she carries on and screams the house down like something is terribly wrong yet as soon as I take her she's all smiles I really hope we have some success. I know its going to be really tough but its tough now so how much worse can it get?? Yeah stupid hives, I got some antihistamines this morning to settle them down - of course the ones I had at home yesterday were not suitable if breastfeeding so I couldn't take anything yesterday just had a bath in pinetarsil (sp??) which did help relieve the swelling and itching but it was no fun at all having huge hives over my entire body. Does anyone watch The Simpsons? I need to go to Rancho Relaxo!!
