Hello all,
I haven't posted for a bit, so am struggling to remember who said what for persies!!
Hope everyone is well, and loving their little ones & not too sleep deprived.
AFM - Tynan is doing well, eating like he should be and even starting to form some little rolls on his thighs!! He still only wakes once during the night, but has his days!! Some days he will sleep awesome, others barely at all, but you get that!! I think during the last few days he has been having a growth spurt as he has been napping & garzing a bit, so trying a bit of a different routine today to see if that helps him. Ty & I did our first big grocery shop without DH this morning, he was in the baby bjorn and slept the whole time!! I even got to go get a coffee afterwards!!!
For those in Huggies Infant 4-8kg nappies already, woolies has them on special 2 for $32, Tynan is not in them yet but i grabbed them whilst on special!!
Thinking of you all xx
-
thanks for the heads up sparkles regardin the nappies, gotta head over to woolies to grab something for dinner so ill get some while im there :)
-
happy 4 weeks Cooper James :)
hope you ladies are all well and enjoying your weekend xx

Happy 4 weeks to Cooper :)
Miss Summer is 4 weeks today too :D

happy 4 weeks Summer :confetti:

Happy 4 weeks Summer & Cooper!!
Well after a melt down yesterday afternoon that Tynan just does not sleep AT ALL during the daytime, he slept from 9.30pm-5.30am. He's a champ.
Although this whole not sleeping during the day is tiring, i feel like i can not even go to the toilet!! Any tips on getting the little one to sleep during the day?? I am not complaining at all cause he does soooo well at night but it is still frusrating!! I think alot of it is reflux/wind based, as i keep him up for as long as i can after feeds to burp and minimise any vomiting, but when i put him down he kind of dozes off then 20 mins later is screaming beacuse of either vomiting, or wind pains!! Have my 6 week check up next monday so will talk to Doctor about it, he seems to eventually get the burps or farts out but is in lots of pain before he can get them free!! Don't you just wish they could talk!! :)
Anyway, feeling very energised to take on the day but best be off, my little man is squirming around in his swing, telling me he wants to be fed!
Hope everyone else is doing well xx
-
Sparkles - my gp suggested Infacol. You can get it from the baby section at woolies, in a yellow box. It can work for some, not others.
Do you have his bed etc raised? I never lay Summer flat, except for nappy changes. Everything else is raised. I also put her on her side abit, coz she chokes all the time.
I feel exactly the same. I carry her in her sling alot. Its the only way I can wash up & cook dinner. Not much els gets done yet, lol.
-
Thanks clover, been trying infacol it seemed to work for the first few days but not anymore!
-
Yeah, I haven't worried about it. Tried it for Bri & it did nothing.
I've heard there's infant mylanta? I'm thinking of asking the chemist about it.

Hello lovelies!
Just popping in quickly to say hello while Noah is asleep.....
Have been sooooo crook the last few days and had a horrible migraine on Saturday night! It was the worst (and only) I've had all year (never had any migraines while I was pregnant luckily, but guess this one made up for it). Had horrible vomiting and my head felt like it wanted to explode! :crying: Luckily I had some EBM that DH and Mum could feed Noah through the night and I was able to get a few extra hours sleep. Also had a really bad :cold: since last week and although it's better and my nose has finally stopped running, I now have a very annoying cough! :( I'm just glad that Noah is well and didn't get sick with a cold/cough. ;)
Noah has been doing well the last few days, feeding and almost going straight back to sleep after his feeds, but I think he is going through another growth spurt as he has been feeding every 1.5 to 2 hours during the day. He did a 8:30pm til 2:00am sleep last night so it really helped me getting some good sleep. I'm very curious to find out how much weight he has gained this week when I get him weighed on Wednesday because he is feeding so much, so often! lol Hopefully it's all good.
Sorry for my lack of persies, but will come back and catch up at some stage...
's to EVERYONE!
xoxo

Vix - Hope everything is on the improve xx
Just updated the pic in my sig, Tynans hair is getting redder every day!! :)
-
Pretz: hope you're feeling better soon  i thought DD & i were coming down with something last week but whatever it was didnt get any worse than a runny nose.
Vix: hope things are on the improve for you soon  I have washable breastpads, although my mum did buy me a box that i haven't used.
Sparkles: my DS's hair is getting lighter and has got a bit of a reddy/brown colour to it just like DF's.
AFM: i have Ben's 4week check-up on Thursday with the CHN, i need to join the local health co-op so DS & I will have a dr to go to for our 6-8week check-up, plus DF & DD will be signed up at the same time as we'll join as a family. Expressing is going great guns!, DS has gone 6hrs 3 nights in the past week 1 night he went almost 7hrs of course i woke up and freaked!. We have a house inspection on Thursday so i'm trying to get all the cleaning done, this house we're renting has been put on the market as the owner is defaulting on his payments the building inspection was done yesterday now we just have to wait and have a meeting with the RE guy trying to sell it all fun and games.
I hope you're all well and enjoying motherhood
-
Vix wanna trade your mastitis for Summers gastro? haha she been in hospital since Sunday on a drip :(
-
Geez, sounds like we're all having a hard time! :grouphug:
I gotta take DS to a doc somewhere tomorrow. Has something like a cold sore, but its spreading like a rash & swollen & almost covering one side of his chin! Doesn't help he won't leave it alone! Anyway, talked to a chemist & she said she thinks he needs abs coz the way its spreading it could be an infection in his blood, rather than a cold sore. Kind of like impetigo.
Summer's been sooky all day again today. We had 2 good days, so thought she was getting over it all. Guess not.....
Like my new avvy?? its kewlies:D
-
vix - hope your mastitis goes away soon. ouchies
nikki - poor Summer. really hope she gets better soon.
clover - hope ds is ok and its not to serious. definately love the avvy :)
AFM - im gonna make a doc appt tomro. Cooper SCREAMS after every feed like hes in serious pain! and it takes me hours to settle him, in the end we r both in tears. my sister was allergic to my mums breast milk. i hope its nothing like that. but i need help. DP isnt here enough and its doing my head in. are you spose to feel some overwhelming feeling of love for your baby, coz i dont, and that scares me. dont get me wrong i love him, but i just worry its not as much as i should. when hes not sleepin or feeding all he does is cry, and its making it hard for me to bond with him coz im just so anxious and frustrated :crying:
sorry bout my rant, i just hate that DP wakes up and goes to work and then comes home and goes to bed. i need help and i need sleep. im getting neither :(
-
hello everybody :)
sounds very unhappy around these parts. here's hoping all the mastitis, gastro, cold sores and lack of sleep and screaming windy babies settles down for everyone soon.
i'm having a bit of a struggle myself. went home to my place on Monday and spent the first night there by myself with bubs, was very tiring the first night because he had an EXTRA feed during the late hours of the night/early hours of the morning and got wind and would not resettle so we were up for like over an hour and a half for 2 of 3 feeds, and slept for like 45 mins-2 hours max between feeds.
Last night was nooooooooooo better. My friend came and stayed over with me. She was a god send I expressed last night and went to bed at 830 and she fed Vinny the bottle and settled him. But I woke up after an hour and stayed up a while. Then it was like a repeat of the night before, he woke at 130, 330 and we were up til 5, and then woke at 630.
I Hate having such short bursts of sleep. I much prefer like 3 or 4 hours at a time if I can get it.
Today we went grocery shopping and he was an angel and slept the entire time. We had a great morning and my friend helped out with the shopping, and did my dishes and cleaned my kitchen :) she is so good to me :)
This afternoon he fed at 130 and then would not go down to sleep. He slept from 3 until I layed down and tryed to have a nap at 330 and he decided to wake up! Thats when I decided I needed to come to mums for tonight. He SCREAMED in the car the whole 15 mins to get here :( I felt awful. then when I got here mum suggested I feed him. It had only been 2 and 1/2 hours but he fed and has been asleep since. thank goodness. I tried napping again and couldn't unfortunately :(
It's frustrating me. I feel like I don't know what is wrong half the time. I mean I was so preoccupied with trying to settle his wind and it turns out he was just hungry. People telling me that he confuses wind/hunger pains confused me!! Cos I was trying to hold off feeding him and I feel like a terrible mum for making him scream in hunger.
Think its the hormone and 'baby blues' here for me today.. sucky.
Don't know why he has had so much wind the past week. It's driving me bonkers as I never know what to do for him :(
Feeling VERY drained so hopefully I can have an early night and mum can give him a bottle with some milk from the freezer. Just need a bit of a break
-
huge  brydz!!
im in the same boat and theres been a few times Coops has been screamin his lil butt off and ive gotten so anxious and frustrated trying to settle him thinking it was wind that ive even palmed him off to DP, later to discover the poor lil dude was hungry! dont stress about it, u r doin the best u can, its just unfortunate that they cant talk and actually tell us whats wrong, all we can use is trial and error. it does help loads when they get like that, that you have someone who can take over while you walk away for a bit just to get ur head right, i no how hard it is to go it alone as DP is rarely home i may as well be a single mother. kudos to u sweety for doin it, i admire ur strength.
sendin you and vinny some sleep dust xx
AFM - well today has been better :) friends came over this morning and the boys stayed home with coops while us girls ducked to the shops. i got home and DP said all he did was cry!! no ***** sherlock, he does that the whole 10 hours ur at work!! i left for 45 mins. i got him some infant panadol just to settle his tummy and its a freakin god send, hes been so good all day and was even happy to sit in his bouncer while he was awake!! its been a while since hes been awake and not crying :) lovin it :) also cant believe hes a month old already. geez thats gone quick. oh i also got the first intallment of my baby bonus. yahoo can pay off some bills and the rest of one of our loans (only had $333) which means DP will get more pay yeowww! couldnt have come at a better time. alsooo 1 month tomro til we go back to perth 4 xmas! today is a good day. hopefully it stays this way
-
THanks Raffy :)
I'm feeling a bit better this morning. Last night we stayed at mums and I didn't need her to do a bottle because Vinny slept from his 830 feed until 130 :) So I got about 4 and 1/2 hours straight sleep. It was heavenly!!
Unfortunately after that he was unsettled so we were awake until his next feed at 430 :( But then slept until 7 so I got a bit more. Still not enough but is it ever enough? lol
We don't have anything planned today apart from health centre visit, so hopefully I can get a nap in some time.
-
Hello lovelies!
Vix - Sorry to hear about your mastitis. Hope it goes away REAL soon! I can't imagine how painful it must be. My boobs have been ENGORGED to the MAX the past few days. I think it's because Noah is feeding so much during the day and they seem to fill up again super fast!! He slept for 5 hours last night and when I woke, both sides felt lumpy and stretched to the max. I swear that if someone poked it with a needle it would've POPPED! lol  How is your Noah doing today? Hope he is better poor darling. Huge hugs to you!
Sparkles - Hope things are going well and cute pic in your ticker and gorgeous red hair he's got there. Noah has beautiful blue eyes now just like his Daddy, I just hope it stays blue like that because they say babies eye colour changes later on...
JCE0810 - Thanks honey, hope that you and DD are doing ok and that you didn't end up getting sick. Hope everything goes well with Ben's 4 week checkup today. Good luck with the house inspection today too.
Nikki - How's Summer doing? Hope she is ok and that you're doing well too. I can only imagine how hard it must be having her in hossy and having a newborn, being sleep deprived etc. Big, huge 's to you honey!!
Clover - Nice avvy! Love it! I still have a belly one......must email them to get mine changed too I guess! lol Hope everything is ok with your DS and that it's nothing serious!
Raffy - How is Coops doing now? Hope he has been better for ya and that the screaming has eased off. I remember Noah had the same thing around week 4-5 and it made me feel sooooo helpless and emotional! Luckily I can say that it must be normal and that it does get better!! I too wish that they could talk and tell you what is the matter or what they need. Yay on getting your baby bonus money. I haven't even applied for mine yet....how slack am I? I better get my a into g as I stop getting paid at the end of November and things are already becoming tight and stressful around here with finances...
Brydz - Glad to hear that you got a couple of hours sleep again this morning after settling Vinny and hope you are able to get a few extra hours sleep during the day today. Good luck at Vinny's checkup today. I'm sure it'll all go great!
Hello to everyone else!
AFM, can't believe my little boy is 6 weeks today!! I can't believe the time has gone by that quickly! Feels like just yesterday I had my last OB checkup and was told they'd have to induce me due to my high blood pressure and the risk of pre-eclampsia etc, then going into hossy and being in labour. Noah has grown so much in the past 6 weeks and not just physically, but also in personality...he smiles all the time, is alert for much longer, settles much easier and is just a very happy, good baby overall. We are doing the Twinkle Toes thingy this afternoon at 3pm. On Saturday we are heading back to the hossy for our Antenatal Class Reunion to meet and see everyone's babies. Should be fun.
Little man just woke up and I'm feeding him now as I type but as it's a bit hard typing with one hand, I'll stop here and say goodbye for now.
Have a great day!

Hi all
Jesse's ok. Has impetigo. School sores. The joys! He's on antibiotics & antibiotic cream. Just hoping he keeps it to himself! No idea where it came from, but not happy!
Our first trip away this weekend. Going out to my home town (near Dubbo) for my pop's birthday. Mum & Dad are gonna take the older girls for us so we just have Summer & Jesse. Will make the trip out there a bit less stressful. Then we bring the girls home with us on Monday, so first long trip with all 6 of us in the car. Its a 8 - 10 hour trip without kids, so it'll probably be twice that with all 4!!
Looking forward to seeing all my family & showing Summer off :)
She seems to be getting better...sometimes, lol. Should be off my butt getting things done, but being lazy instead. I'll get there. I have to, we need clean clothes to take away, lol!
She's started smiling & cooing a few days ago. So cute :D
Neen using nipple sheilds almost non stop the past 2 weeks for feeding. Having trouble with cracks, not fun! We'll get there though.
-
Cooper is at it again. im scared of him waking up coz i no hes gonna scream. DP left for work about 20 mins ago and i started crying coz i didnt want to be left alone with him!! im the worst person alive, DP should be back around 4.30ish but then leaves again at 5.30 for a work do and then i dont no when he will get home. i think my biggest issue is being stuck at home ALL the time with a screaming baby. just wish it was me going to a work do and getting drunk. i just wish it was me getting out of the house full stop. im mainly upset today because we had planned to head over to the shops this morning to get some groceries and look around (i was gonna treat myself to some new clothes now we got some money) but Cooper just wanted to feed and scream so we ran outta time b4 DP had to go to work, so i was all dressed up with no where to go. which really upset me. anyways hes stirring and i have to hang out some towels b4 he wakes. sorry for my me post...again
-
Raffy have you taken him back to the gp or chn? Maybe just go to the chemist. At a month they can have panadol. You might not be keen on the idea, but maybe one dose will give you a break. Does he have a fever? Anything to make you think he could be getting sick?
 its not easy.
-
thanks clover, we have seen the chn a few times and i really need to see a gp, for myself as well as him, i got some baby panadol yesterday and it definately worked. hes asleep at the moment but if he wakes and starts screaming i will give him some more. he was a little hot yesterday but it could have just been the weather (it was very muggy) and i hadnt taken him out of his jarmies yet. once i did he hung out in his nappy and a singlet and he cooled down straight away
-
just a quickie ...
Summer has been out of hospital for a couple of days now and is almost back to normal. Yippee and thank goodness :)
Thank goodness for the baby bonus, we must have just scraped in and at the moment it has been the most welcome payment EVER!!!
raffy - If the weather is ok, perhaps put Cooper in the pram and go for a walk. Prop the pram up a little bit so if he does have wind pain it will ease it a little better. Even if you just for for 10 minutes (and he cries the whole time!) it will do you the world of good to be out in the fresh air. Also, Im not sure if you have a sling, but i have one called a hugabub. It is just a really long piece of material that wraps around your body in a special way and holds bub snug to your chest and enables your hands to be freed. You can lay him down in it or have him vertical against your chest (then they can hear your heartbeat, like in utero). Mine is a lifesaver sometimes, and if your at your wits end, anything might be worth a shot. Look up the website if your interested.
-
thanks heaps Nikki, i will definately have a look on the website. im willing to try anything at the moment. i'll see how he is when he wakes, but a walk sounds so awesome right now and i no the dog would love me for it.
so glad to hear Summer is home and on the mend :) what a brave girl xx
-
I was going to say the same Raffy. I have a ring sling. You can carry baby any way in that one too. I tighten it right up so she's high on my chest/shoulder & walk the hallway like that. Its how I wash up, do the shopping, go for walks. Everything. She sleeps so good in it.
-
howdy everybody.
came out to mums to come online and check out the forums and see whats been happening. and also to look up internet providers and their deals so i can get it on at my place and save having to drive here every time I wanna use it! LOL.
Nikki: glad to hear that Summer is on the mend! poor lil bugger it would not have been fun having to go to hossy :(
Raffy: sorry that you are having troubles with Coop :( I know what its like when you plan to go out and do something and then bub starts screaming and you think 'oh gosh do I really wanna go with a screaming baby'. Vinny had an episode in Bendigo the other day where he screamed and screamed. Turns out he was wanting an in between feed and settled down eventually. Once we are out he is usually angelic! We have taken the pram just the once, and just use the sling in most instances. I bought a 'nurture sling' off a lady on ebay. Its comfy for both of us, he loves it. Always sleeps in it. A bit of a pain trying to carry handbag on your shoulder whilst wearing it though. And if you're out for long you'd have to drag around a nappy bag too so I use it only on short outings. If i were to be out for hours I'd def take the pram!
Do you have any idea why Coop screams? It's soooooooo hard to work it out sometimes :( I really feel for you!
AFM:
yesterday went really well at home. We left soon after I posted on here, went home I had breakfast and showered then we slept 830-930. had the chn at 1030. vinny has gained 180g this week. his head is now 39cm and length 54cm (mum doesn't believe that they both went up 2cm in less than 3 weeks!) the nurse was lovely and very encouraging telling me that I know what is best and do what I want with my baby. She even encouraged co-sleeping/feeding in bed if I'm really tired. Found that interesting. THe only thing I didn't enjoy was when she said 'you look like you've been hit by a train today'. I was feeling pretty well and energetic til then. I must have looked terrible for her to say that. I almost cried because then all of a sudden I was hit by a wave of exhaustion again (I think having it acknowledged made it come back, because i'd been psyching myself up to think I was feeling better).
We went home and slept for another hour. Vinny went from 930-2pm between feeds! what a good boy!
I managed to do lots of stuff, attack the cobwebs (have an infestation of spiders so I discovered at 2am the other night..), put away all the washing, cleaned out my sock and underwear drawer and threw half of the stuff in it out, wrapped birthday presents I'd bought for 2 people, raked the grass on the front lawn...
Overnight we went well too. Not a great deal of sleep (darn the muggy horrible hot weather!!) but at least there was no wind pains. He woke for feeds at 12, 230 (awake til 4 but not sooky or screaming, just clingy) and then again at 615. Then the little bugger fed at 8am too. I hate feeding him frequently cos I keep thinking he's gunna vomit and get wind. But the chn yesterday told me to feed him often if he wants it. And he was much better. Maybe I've been reading the wrong cues and treating hunger as wind too often!
Already this morning he's had a bath, I've had a shower and he is asleep now :) yay!! its bliss!!
-
Oh wow... we have been getting sleep! Could be getting more, but so, so happy with how she's going!!!
Days & espacially early evening are still really unsettled & hard, but she's been going to sleep between 8 & 10 every night & sleeping til about 3am. This morning she went back to sleep til 6.30, was awake for about an hour & is still asleep now! Hoping she wakes soon though, lol. Gotta go down the shops & to a mates place to borrow her stroller for our trip away.
800km car trip this arvo... only have the 2 little ones on the way out, but will have all 4 coming home... wish us luck! Bit scary TBH, lol. Just hoping mum remembered to borrow my sisters DVD player. Taking the lappy too. should get a movie out of it before we stop for dinner & if we stop at macca's we can re charge it. Really should find out if we can get a car charger for it...
-
Hope the car trip is going well Clover!!
I think I need to have another baby ... just so I can actually have a newborn
Another week, another 250g and 1cm in length .... words straight out of the doctors mouth at my 6 week check up today - "wow, hes a whopper!"!!!
-
Morning girls.
I am typing this in MS Word as I work my way through the house work. Type a bit, do some house work, type a bit and so on! Prolly take me all day though! Lol
Sparkles – what a cute picky of Tynan. He looks like he is showing off his muscles! How is the feeding coming along?
JCE – Great news on Ben’s sleeping. Makes a world of difference doesn’t it!
Nikki – Poor Summer. How is she now? That must be horrible having (had) her in hospy. Another baby so you can have anewbie??!! lmao I was like that with the boys. I have not had time to even think like that this time. Busy, busy busy!!!!
Clover – how is DS’s face now? Sounds yukky! Is that the same as Hand and Mouth or what ever they call it? Love your new avvy. I should get my done considering Alannah will be 8 weeks tomorrow…..kinda never thought about it even though I had intentions of updating it throughout the pregnancy! Lol Have a great trip away. I have friends at Dubbo.
Raffy – Sounds like reflux to me hun and YOU need to get checked out too, not for reflux obviously but for anxiety or pnd. I have only just fallen in love with Alannah and she is almost 8 weeks. MASSIVE hugs to you and hang in there. Just call your community health lot and basically scream at them down the phone for help. I did….got help….and here I am!
I bought Alannah some Brauers Stomach Calm (natural medicine) – relieves upset stomach, ingestion and reflux. Worked really quickly and I only need to give her the first dose. Have not used it for a few weeks.
Also too they have growth spurts and can be unsettled at 2, 4 and 6 weeks of age. Alannah was a PITA during those times. I thought she was doing it to annoy the crappola out of me. I look back now and feel a shamed. TRY and stay relaxed as when you are anxious and wound up, he will sense it and react to it too.
I have a sling that I bought for Alannah as she wont sleep in her cot during the day and prefers me or her swing. I had to make my boys a sandwich the other day for lunch with one hand! Hard, messy and you would never sell it in a café but they ate it and that was all I cared about!
Brydz – when bubs wont settle just go through a check list – have it written on some paper and have it on the wall in his room or somewhere handy. Just write on it – wind? – hungry? – wet? – cuddles? I mentally go through my list and sometimes all it is she wants is cuddles or rocked to sleep. Sometimes a dirty nappy that you didn’t hear! (Alannah farts better than her brothers!) There have been times Alannah has had a massive feed, almost asleep and decides she wants just a wee bit more! You will get used to his cries etc and it will get easier. Look at the mess I was in a month ago and compared to now! Still have crappy days but each week gets better.
I only did it once or twice with the boys but a bath can be very soothing for them too. Nice, deep warm bath!
Pretz – sounds like Noah is doing really well. Your 6 weeks has gone as fast as my 8! Kinda sad as she is our last bubba. How was your Twinkle Toes session? DH wants me to take pics of her on her REAL 6 weeks (which will be this Tuesday with her REAL EDD being Oct 5th) and pick a nice want to frame. Have fun at your reunion today. Mine sucked! Lol I was over anxious with Bailey and didn’t enjoy anything. I never kept in contact with any of them and they never bothered to get my number either. Oh well, that was a life time ago now.
To all us Mummies - we ARE doing a great job. There will be crappy days/nights but there will also be fantastic days/ nights. Hang in there.
Okay, better go.
xxxxx
I forgot to do an AFM: Alannah had her check up at the Pediatrician this week. Has his the 5kg mark and grown 3cm since birth. She put on over 500 grams in less than a fortnight! Still sleeping through and loves her evening routine. I give her her last bf at about 8pm, bath her and then give her a ff at about 8.30/8.45pm. Busting out of the NB nappies but I have a box to get through so will keep squeezing her into them. 8 weeks tomorrow!!!!!! Yesterday she had her needles. I gave her Dymadon before we left and again last night as she was a bit warm. Slept like a baby all night! Her first feed now is somewhere between 5am and 6.30am. The CHN came out yesterday to see me and said I AM NOT CRAZYYYYYYYYY (pnd)!!!! *happy dance*
When we saw the Pediatrician he said she will be a bit slower in things as she was 3 weeks early. She rarely smiles at all and might coo once or twice in a day. Makes me sad sometimes but she will get there. He is very happy with her anyway. Have to go back in a months time as he has ultrasounds done on all babies.
We have Tresillian next week......don't reallllllly think we need to go now but will decide when they phone t confirm next week. till need to have my bt for my thyroid so will do that on Wednesday too.
NJ has been really crook with an URI but is getting better now. Had some really HIGH fevers. I wasn't going to take him to the GP but felt if Alannah got it I would be so mad. The GP agreed with me and put him on anti-b's.
We had a Wooping Cough vaccines the other day and despite bringing them info on it, DH's family still have not gone to get theirs. The pamphlet even had a sad story about a bbay who dies at 32 weeks of age. BIL's inlaws went on a cruise recently and were exposed to it. They went to BIL's house and a few days later his step-son gets sick. (8yr old) It only came out in convo after our boys had been around there. DH is so pi$$ed at his BIL for not telling us. He is also mad at the rest of his family for not getting the jab to protect Alannah.
Okay, boys want morning tea.
xxxxx
-
GROUP Q- do you wash your babies washing seperate to the rest of the family? I did it with the boys until I think 3 months but with 5 of us, washing Alannahs clothes seperate makes for a long washing week! Just wanna know what everyone else does!

Hi Vix,
There is just DP, me & bub so I wash her stuff separate & use the Omo baby washing powder. Will prolly only do it til she's 6 months though.
Big hello to everyone else. Hope you are all having a great weekend. Weather on the Gold Coast is awesome today :)

Vix - thanks hunni, i think ur right about the reflux, thats what i was thinkin it was. i will def get some brauers, im willing to try anythin, i just hate seeing him get so upset. and i will go and see the GP i promise. i think ive played it down a bit to m/w's and chn's by saying things like 'oh we have our moments' when i should be saying 'freakin help me lady!!'kwim? im sooooo glad that you are doin so well. if u can do it, i can to :) thanks again, i really appreciate it. re: ur GQ i am usin lux for coopers stuff most of the time, but do get lazy snd put it all in 2gethr sometimes. havin said that its only the 3 of us. i think it would be different if ther was 5+ lol
AFM - my daddys here!! he suprised me and came over 2 c his grandson. its so awesome havin him here. he is spoilin us rotten which is makin me feel special which is prob just what i need right now. he even bought me those new clothes i was goin to get the other dayand i didnt have to pay!! bonus! my dads never liked baby babies but he is so smitten with cooper its so cute to see,
speakin of cooper after a big day and a 1 hour tanty last night he fell asleep at 10.30 n didnt wake til 4 then slept 430-530 then 6-10.45!! what a champ. def a much needed sleep.

Raffy - yeah definitely get a sling. best idea. i'm thinking about getting a hug a bub wrap too cos Vinny absolutely loves 'hanging' in front of my tummy and it would be better suited cos in my sling he lays down. thats really great your dad is smitten with Coop :) Happy 5 weeks to the lil guy!!
Vix - thanks, yeah I have had a few better days but writing down a checklist might be handy if I'm sleep deprived at 3am and just can't work it out.
Nikki LOL @ the drs comment. at least u know ur feeding him well :) thats great he is growing so well!
afm: Yesterday we had a big day. Here's how it went. 830am feed. 930am sleeping, drove to bendigo and went to J's place while he slept. 130pm he finally woke up and fed again. went to my mates place at 245pm and he went back to sleep. woke up at 445 for a feed. went back to sleep in my mates bedroom in his sleeper and didn't wake again until 830pm :) my good boy. while all this sleeping was happening my friend was hosting her 18th birthday party in the lounge. there were around 20 or 30 people drinking and being very rowdy and loud music. Vinny didn't stir. My friends were watching the monitor because some of them wanted him to wake so they could meet him ahaha and he just wanted to sleep.
he then woke and came out to the lounge had a feed and cuddles with some of my mates. they were all so fantastic. nobody smoked inside (which they normally would) and one of the boys walked thru with a smoke from one door to the other and apologized :) i'm so glad they were considerate because I shouldn't have had to miss out on the party just cos I'm a mummy now.
at 1030ish I took Vinny to my sisters and fed him and they put him down to sleep. I went out to the club to drive a few of my mates out and stayed out til 1230 then came home to bed. he slept the entire time I was gone :) and didn't wake for a feed until 230am, then 630 and then 830 this morning.
I was soooooooooooooo glad he was that settled. no wind problems. such a good boy :)
will be interesting to see if J's mum mentions me going out, because I ran into one of J's chick friends out in front of the club and she didn't question my being there but she recognized me and asked about Vinny and stuff. so i wouldn't be surprised if she tells them i was out. wasn't gunna miss the chance to shout my mate a drink for her bday. and i was happy driving and not having any drinks :) and super happy to get home to my lil man :)

Oh and I'm staying at my sisters again tonight becasue I have my other mates bday dinner at a pub tomorrow night and my sister is gunna babysit for an hour or two while I'm out for a meal. Don't see much point driving home today and coming back tomorrow. just need to buy some more nappies.
my niece Teleia is sooooooooooooooooooo cute with Vinny. she is a very good big cousin :) I knew she would be.

Happy 8 weeks (yesterday) Alannah!!!!!!
Raffy - I was the same as you when I first became a Mum. (2006) I told the CHN what I thought they wanted to hear and even filled out the pnd survey with answers I thought they would want to see. Bailey was 6 month old by the time I cried out for help. It was the cause of my mastitis I had for 6 weeks which forced me to wean. My GP to me to wean actually. Alot of people told me not to but I had been itching for someone to 'give me permission'. Once I weaned him, received one on one councelling, things began to improve! NOT saying you have it, but just to give you an idea that you are not alone. I even walke out on Bailey and DH one day. I was watching him play and figured he was fed and had a clean nappy so I took the dog for a 2 hour walk. I even wanted something bad to happen to me whilst we were walking like a dog attack or beieng hit by a car. Just something so that people would come to help me without me asking for help! It takes a very strong person to ask for help - ironic hey?! Can you call DH throughout the day when you are freaking out? I AM THINKING OF YOU! xxxxx
AFM: Alannah had a mild fever after her needles but slept it off. Such a good girl. I had to wake her for her feeds on Saturday.
I came across this service called HEALTH DIRECT. I spoke to a qualified and experienced Pediatrician who went through a list of things as I was not sure if it was a virus from Noah or from the needles. She wasn't burining up but much warmer than normal. Even her feet were quite warm. The nurse asked me to take her temp too.
Health Direct - 1800 022222 and their other help line is called Pregnancy, Birth and Baby 1800 882436 Both are available 24/7. I hope the Mods don't mind me putting them on here but I found it such a peace of mind. *waits for a butt whipping off the Mods* ;)
Okay, love to ya'll,
xxxxx

Vix - i did the exact same thing with the pnd survey, like when it asked if i had cried lately i said no but really i had had a cry that morning for no reason. there has been so many times when im home alone with cooper and hes screaming i've just put him in his portacot and walked away and if DP would have been home i would have walked out of the house. i feel like the worst person coz i feel like im not coping. i can call DP at work but i dont really like to. i can also msg or call his mobile but hes in the air force and works on the jets so if they r refueling he cant have his fone on him so it could take hours for him to call/msg back which in most cases makes me feel even more isolated nd alone :( thank you so much for ur support vix you have no idea how much it helps
glad to hear Alannah is ok after her jabs and slept off the fever. poor darling. and thanks for that number lol hope they dont tell you off to much hehe xx
