Brydz - Coops is the same hes goes belly to back and then can go back to side but not all the way over. the JJ box says its appropriate for babies that can hold their head up but arent able to walk which is usually about 3 months onwards. if V has good head control then i say give it a go, they are awesome and Coops loves it.

Brydz - Yes it's so great that our floors are finally done now, I have waited soooo long for it to happen! I hear ya on just having money to do something and then bills (big one's or more than one or two bills) come in! :wall: It sure sucks when that happens! I think the reason why Noah is so cranky, grizzly and not sleeping well is because he is teething. I gave him Panadol for 2 days, but it didn't really seem to do much or make a difference to his sleep so not sure. He has been having some really weird sleeping patterns and it's really doing my head in! Noah also drinks heaps before bed time and I swear it should last him a long time, but 2-2.5 hrs later he is screaming again and you'd swear he is starving. I'm sure your Mum's friends are right that it's just the 3 month growth spurt that Vinny is going through - I hope for your sake it is and that he settles again soon. Perhaps Noah is going through some kind of 4 month growth spurt too.....
Vix - Thanks for the txt and for letting me know the results from your test. Was so happy and relieved to hear. I hpe that the blood work you had done come back good/normal too. :hug: Sounds like Alannahrama has a nice little routine there for ya. Noah has NO ROUTINE and I am a bit frustrated / sad that it's such a struggle not only days but also nights to get him settled lately... Hope you had a good girly day with your Princess today!
Raffy - Sorry to hear that you think Coop is teething too. It's horrible for them, they're sooo little and I hate seeing Noah so grumpy and cranky because of it. Wish them bloody teeth would just come through already if they're going to come through or go away!! Glad that at least Coop is sleeping well for ya, although sorry to hear that you're not falling asleep until after 12. Hope you get some good nights' soon! Yes, I don't know where I got the energy from to even attempt DTD, but I figured that after poor DH not getting any for sooooooo long I should have at least given it a try, well, I think I've tried a whole of 4-5 times since Noah was born and it was really just unbearable so atm nothing is happening and won't be happening until after my operation and I've properly healed! lol :p Almost forgot to say yay on Coops rolling. Noah is loving his tummy time now (finally) and is rolling over 3-4 times in a go, so cute to see and great to hear the little sounds he makes when doing it. lol I got a couple of video clips of it too! He is also able to kind of hold his own bottle which is just too cute. Great news about the job, I will keep my fingers crossed that it all works out for ya.
Clover - Welcome back. Sounds like you had a great, but busy time and exhausting drive. Glad to hear that Summer did well and I hope you and DH get some rest soon. ;)
Nikki - Welcome back! :dance: So happy to see ya on here again. Looking forward to hearing all about your holiday. How is Ben going? Is his poo still a greenish colour? I noticed today with Noah's poo that his was an army green type colour with a little bit of yellow mustardy colour (like it always was) so I'm guessing it might have something to do with BF and FF him??? Will mention it to my GP on Friday when he goes for his needles.
AFM, had a terrible few days and nights (until today).....Noah is just still not sleeping well and it's really doing my head in. He woke 4 times last night.....WTF!??? I was exhausted by 3:30am and had a massive cry! DH was home thankfully and helped settle Noah back to sleep at 4:15am (after nearly 2 hours of trying to settle him) and poor DH had to get up at 4:30am. At least after that (and a 200ml FF bottle) he slept until after 8:00am this morning and had another sleep this arvo for 2 hours and I got to snooze for 1.5 hours too!! I'm still trying to BF him as much as possible but am giving him 2 bottles of FF a day, once around 10:30am and once again at about 6:30pm, but he still seems to be hungry. I don't know and don't think it can be a growth spurt as his growth spurts has always lasted about 3 days and then he'd be fine again and this has been going since about the last week so it's been over a week now. The GP I saw last Friday said it was teething, but surely it can't continue this way for over a week??? I'm just exhausted and not sure what to do or what I should do. I'm seeing my own GP again on Friday as I have to take Noah for his 4 month needles so will as his advice then, but in the meantime, if anyone has some advice to offer, I'm willing to try ANYTHING!
Well then, seeing as he finally went down at 7:30pm, I guess I should go sleep too while I can......I'm sure (touch wood) and I hope I'm WRONG it won't be too long until it's wake up time again.

Pretz - im glad Noah is finally enjoying Tummy Time. coops stil hates it, we have to do it like 5-6 times a day coz he will only lay on his tummy for like 2 minutes. Sorry to see that you had another crappy night with Noah last night and got up 5 times. like Vix said try the brauers. they are gold. im using baby panadol, bonjela and an amber teething necklace which is working. im sending some sleeping dust Noahs way, hope it helps :hug:
AFM - i seriously feel so privilaged. Coops slept from 7pm-10am and only woke up twice for 15 minutes each and hes had a few little sleeps since (one at 12 and one now at 3.30) :o cant wait for DF to get home, ive really missed him today for some reason, i think its coz i no that he has tomro off for aussie day so im excited, spending the day bbq-ing at the beach, listening to some music and having a few bevvys with good friends. i cant wait :) friends of ours have a 4wd so we'll bring blankets and toys and the bouncer and coops can chillax in the back of the car :)

My :bfp: wasn't until Feb 10th. This time a year ago I was up at the murray with half a dozen friends getting wasted drunk camping in tents for Australia Day! It was on the 23rd that I conceived, so at this stage I had no idea yet that I was UTD!
Still. Hard to believe it was almost a whole year ago!! And what a year it's been..
pretz bugger that Noah is teething and not sleeping well. Thats one more exciting thing to look forward to.. yeh now u know what i've gone through for the last week and a half, waking 3 times a night. its damn exhausting hey! yeah I am with you on trying to BF still but I'm progressively FF more each time! V started off having a bed time bottle, now he has one in the morning 915 3 days in a row, and one at lunch, and sometimes one in the afternoon. and the other night it was 4am too. Just depends on my mood. Think it will probably not be a month before he ends up on it full time..
raffy -thanks I'd love to get him a jolly jumper to try, i'll see if I can afford to next week. 7pm til 10am! wow!! thats an awesome job! V has been sleeping a lot today, probably won't sleep tonight..
afm great old AF came yesterday :( dammit. at least I haven't had any pain with it, used to get pretty bad cramps. hopefully this is a permanent development post baby, that they are pain free and easier to deal with!
J was supposed to come and visit V today. So I ran around this morning cleaning my house, finally vacuumed for the first time in weeks, and all that. He didn't come, rang me to say he 'wasn't feeling well' and he said he'll try and come tomorrow. But I honestly don't expect him to follow through..
At least my house is clean!! :lol:
Went to go to playgroup today, there was nobody there :( so I will have to call the lady by next week to find out before next Tues.
Brydz - JJ are on sale at target for $35 that's why I got one :) hope V sleeps better for you tonight even if he did sleep all day. Also hope that J follows thru and comes to visit tomoro but if not and he does end up getting lawyers involved then he's not doing himself any favours is he? Though it is nice to have a clean house isn't it? Even though mine is messy again already :doh:
Just went out and saw the movie burlesque. Its like Moulin rouge on steroids. Highly recommend it but it was a great movie. Anyway best be off DF is getting up to coops in the morning so i plan on having an awesome night sleep and its already 11.15 so we aren't really off to a good start lol

Raffy - Noah can only stay on his tummy for about 5 mins max before he start getting grumpy and whingy, but mostly he rolls over before the 5 mins is up now and then when I put him back on his tummy he can go another few minutes again. lol I have had about a week and a halfs worth of crappy nights with Noah now and am sooooo ready for it to end, I can't do it anymore, it's really starting to get to me! :crying: I got some of the Brauers and tried it yesterday, but not sure whether it made a difference as DH and I was up with him again 3 times last night.....perhaps it's my milk that's going like he doesn't get enough milk at a time and then wakes up sooner cos he is hungry. I might try to express before going to bed and see how much I'm getting, then give him a bottle when he does wake and see whether that makes a difference. My boobies actually feel very empty most of the time now so not sure. How did it feel for you when your milk started going away?? Hope you got a sleep in this morning and enjoy your barbie with your friends! Thanks for the :hug: - I'm sending one back for ya!
Clover - If I could have contained myself and not tested, it would've probably been a bit longer before I would have known too! I think I POAS like 3 times a day for the 3 days before I had my blood test and confirmed my pregnancy! :rofl: I was a POAS-aholic! lol
Brydz - I've also been up with Noah 3 times or more through the night for the last week and a half and you're right, it's damn exhausting!! :wall: I really want to keep BF and am really going to continue with it for as long as I can, but I don't think I'm going to last much longer either because my boobies feel really empty all the time like I said to Raffy...and I have noticed that when I do give Noah a bottle of formula he seems much more settled... Sorry to hear that you got dreaded old AF back, but glad that it hasn't been painful for ya! :dance: I still haven't gotten mine back and really hope that she continues to stay gone for me for a while longer as I hate her with a PASSION!!! :angry: I hope that J shows today and that if he does that you have a nice time with Vinny.

AFM, feeling very down and low today.....just being silly and trying to think positive but I just don't know what to do anymore to help / get Noah to sleep better at night. It's making me feel sad that he isn't sleeping well and getting overtired from it making things worse and it's making me feel a bit like a failure as I don't know what to do to help him sleep. I've got the GP appointment on Friday when Noah gets his needles so hopefully the GP will be able to give me some advice/tips/info...

Pretz - Seems our boys like to do most things together. Bens sleeping the last few nights has been absolutely S**thouse to say the least. Just keep persisting love. Its probably just a stage ... at least thats what i keep telling myself :hug:

I reckon that Ben and Noah are sending each other vibes somehow about doing things together and by not sleeping well through the night as they need food often and just won't give their Mumma's a nice decent sleep. lol I must say that I'm thrilled because Noah had a 2 hour sleep this arvo and I had an hour of sleep with him so that helps make me feel a bit better! :dance: I'm just hoping and :pray: for both our sakes (as well as everyone else who's bubs aren't sleeping well) that they give us a good night sleep tonight, I am longing for just 5 or 6 hours straight, although longer would do too!! lol :p

Geez I'm over these bloody holidays!! Counting the days til the girls go back to school. Even talked to Jesse last night about daycare. He sounds more ready than I am :lol:

Sux about AF. She held off for 9 months after Jesse was born, so hopefully I'll get that long again at least!
Pretz - Noah might be going through a wonder week? They usually do at about 4 months. They'll be fussy with sleeping & eating for a bit, because something is usually happening developementally around the same time. I don't know how to explain it properly, lol.
He'll be over it soon though :hug: Its not easy when you're not getting much sleep.
Summer doesn't happily lay on her belly for long. I was thinking maybe she should by now, but my other kids started rolling at about 4 months & none of them were too keen on it either. I'd have to roll them back over after a few minutes.
She's rolling side to side & sometimes half attempts to roll over (from back to belly), but hasn't followed through yet.
She's getting so good with her hands. I put her under her play gym & she gets hold of the toys & moves them around. Had a rattle type one yesterday & loved moving it to make the noise :)
She's been doing the same with her feet for a while. Kicking the noisy toys around.
I hate being up this early. I can't do much, coz I don't wanna wake the kids, but it'd be alot easier if I did it all before it gets too hot. And its too early. Been up since 4.30 when DH left. I'm gonna start to crash about 10 & need a nanna nap. With 3 other kids in the house!! Yeah right!!
well J ended up calling me at about 8 last night.
bit late, but at least he called. if he didn't call yesterday I was not going to answer if he tried today, so he was lucky.
apparently he's still sick, has a chest infection or something and doesn't wanna share his germs. so he said he'd ring me on the weekend if he's feeling better then cos he really wants to come over.
hopefully he's not lying to me, although its not nice that he's unwell. i was nice enough to tell him to get better soon.
Pretz - firstly a hugggggge :hug: I'm sure you must be exhausted and at the end of your teather. I think its completely normal for your boobs to feel empty and if Noah is constantly feeding then they wouldn't really have the chance to feel engorged kwim? The only reason I knew was coz I finally got the balls to talk to an LC and she sqeezed my bb and nothing came out, bone dry. Maybe when you go to the gp just talk to him/her about it and the troubles your having and I :pray: they have the answer. Thinking of ya sweety xox
Brydz - sorry to hear AF showed up. How rude of her. Glad there is no pain associated with it but you lucky thing. My first one was horrendous. And I'm due again tomoro :doh: I'm glad you finally heard from J and he actually had an excuse and wasn't just being a sh*thead. I hope he follows through on his word though and calls on the weekend.
Afm - had a really good day yesterday. Went to the beach and had a swim and a sunbake with a few drinks then coops got restless in the heat so we went home and stuck him in a cool bath and then had a BBQ lunch then we went back to my house and walked to the marina to have a look around and got some ice cream then headed home and passed out. I was exhausted. Coops was a bit out of whack coz we weren't really home all day but he finally fell asleep at about 9pm and slept through til 8 :o (I woke up at 5 and didn't get much sleep after that coz I was worried bout him) and he's asleep on the couch again now. Its insane. I have actually achieved things this morning though. I've settled coops, washed and sterilized bottles, emptied the kitty litter and taken the bin out and put on a load of washing :D (which is now finished so I better go) I'll no doubt be back later and hopefully my laptop turns on soon coz persies on my phone take agesssss. Thinking of you all xoxo ps sorry if some of this doesn't make sense like I said I'm on my phone and it likes to correct my aweful spelling even if I don't want it to
Pretz - I'm sure your milk is fine. If bubba is feeding all the time, they won't have the chance to get very full, & by now they should have settled into making exactly what he needs, so they don't over fill anymore.
& if he's having a growth spurt, he'd be having more to up your supply :)
Its a normal stage all round, you just have to fight your way through it :hug:

Sorry for such a quick me post: DP's dad over in the UK is end stage teminally ill and we were advised to go over ASAP. So, we are leaving tomorrow night. Oh gosh, on a 24hr flight with a 4 month old, can't even begin to tell u how nervous I am, especially with all the feeding probs we are having cause of the reflux. But, no choice, we have to go, otherwise Madi will never meet her grandpa :( Am currently madly trying to organise things - they don't do her formula over there, or her medication :o
Anyway fingers crossed she travels ok :pray: and i'll catch up with u all when i get back. Take care

afm went to mums group yesterday, was the last one and again I was the only person there. S couldn't come because her eldest son J was at the drs (same reason she couldn't come last week, him being unwell) and A couldn't come because she herself was unwell. None of the others have been since before xmas.
anyway I got to speak with the nurse one on one and get V weighed and all that.
He's now 6.68kg (+480g) and 64.5cm (+1.5cm) since last weighed and measured 2 weeks ago. Still growing at around the same rate.
Atm he is asleep, has been down since about 9ish. Little bugger wouldnt' go back to sleep from 7 on ward when I really REALLY wanted to sleep myself. By the time he finally settled I was wide awake and couldn't be bothered trying to sleep. I'm not a day sleeper. So by the end of the day I'll probably be buggered.
Its COLD here today. Can't believe it, supposed to be summer but I'm quite cold. stupid weather!!
we have nothing planned today. going to see what happens with J, hopefully he will call and arrange to come out tomorrow because Sunday I'm going to Melbourne to see my bestie for a couple of days and he will just have to wait til we get back.
Bec - Am very sorry to hear if your FIL being this bad and I hope you have a good flight over and back with Madi. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
Brydz - I am the same here. Dead on my feet today and would love a sleep but Missy has other plans. Atleast she is still in her cot so fingers crossed she might crash anyways. Bummer about people not turning up at your group today, that would be a tad annoying but WTG Master Vinnie on doing so well.

AFM: Tooth number two had decided to make another appearance this morning. I heard her cry out a few times through the night and am guessing it was her tooth annoying her. I was too tired to bother getting up and as it was a single cry out every few hrs figured she would be fine till morning. Lazy huh?! Looks pretty close to bustingthrough and she has been chewing like crazy on her taggy most of today.
I have also been setting an alarm to get her up 8 - 8.30am each morning as sometimes she would sleep as long as till 10am which would then lead to a massive feeding frenzy in the late arvo. This way she is up for no more than 2 hrs before having a morning sleep. I can also fit in a second sleep like now and yesterday she even slept in my arms at the inlaws for about 40 mins during dinner time.
Going back to the GP tomorrow for bt results.
Okay, off to pull out my lettuce as it has gone to seed! Blerk!

Brydz - Sorry to hear that J didn't show this week but glad that he at least phoned, although I reckon he could've phoned sooner and not made you wait ALL day! I would also enjoy your days and weekend and if you're busy when he wants to pop over, well then it's his loss. WTG on Vinny's excellent growth stats there! He is growing soooo well and is so gorgeous! You are doing an excellent, excellent job! ;)
Clover - Thanks honey :hug: I think you were right and that Noah went through that 4 month wonderweek. He has been feeding like never before (and in the process obviously has built up my milk supply as this morning my boobs are feeling very FULL) lol. Don't worry about Summer not liking it on her tummy, Noah still moans about it after a few minutes and still only gets about 4-5 mins max on his tummy. He also doesn't roll over everytime, so I'm not pushing it, he will do it at his own pace I guess.
Raffy - Thanks honey. Like I said to Clover, I think Noah was going through a wonderweek of feeding and that he built up my milk supply as my boobs feel more FULL than they have in over a week or so, so I'm guessing there's no problems with my milk. See what the GP said in AFM below... I hope that when AF shows for ya that it's not as painful as the first one was :hug:
Bec - I'm so sorry to hear about your FIL. I :pray: that Madi will do great for you on the flight. Please know that I'm (that we're all) thinking of you and your family and we're all here for you. HUGE :hug:'s!!!
Vix - Thanks for the tip on the baby massage. I have heard of it as well, but also haven't given it a try as I didn't think of it. Perhaps I will try it, if only just to calm/relax him. See about the GP visit in AFM below... Wow on Alannahrama's second tooth coming through. Poor babies teething this early. I'm not sure whether I'm glad Noah is teething so early and now or that it's better to start getting those teeth through sooner rather than later. :hug:
Nikki - Hope Ben is doing what his buddy Noah is doing and giving his Mummy a bit more sleep at night again and during the day. Hopefully these growth spurts will be over soon! lol :hug:
AFM, had a few better nights the past 2 nights. Noah still woke 2 times each night, but at least he only fed and then went straight back to sleep so that was good. His day time naps has also been better as he had 4 naps yesterday and each one was between 30 and 45 minutes! :dance: He didn't go to sleep until 9pm last night though as his arvo nap was at 5:30ish, which I think was a bit late...but he slept til 2:15am this morning before waking for a feed, then woke again at 5am for a feed and is still sleeping now. I slept til 7:30am!! Yay! He had his needles yesterday and did really well. I think it was harder for me to watch then it was for him. He let out a big scream as they injected him, but was fine afterwards and all day yesterday. Asked the GP about the teething and sleepless nights. GP said that he reckons it could definitely be the teething, but that it could be a growth spurt and usually around 4 months their sleep patterns changes and it becomes more like our adult sleep patterns and to just feed him when he is hungry and that he is sure that it'll pass and Noah will sort himself out. He said to give it a couple more weeks and if it's still bad and no one is getting sleep to bring Noah back and we'll have a chat and see whether there's something else or how we can help Noah settle/sleep. I left it at that and have Noah's 4 month checkup with the MCHN on Monday so will ask her as I'm sure that she'll be able to give me some info/help/advice on how to settle him, help him get into a bit more of a routine with his day time sleeps etc. Oh and the GP said that seeing as Noah is nearly 4 months (4 months tomorrow) that I could try to give him a bit of Farex at night to see if that helps him sleep better too. I asked him whether it was ok as it was sometimes suggested that babies not be started on solids until 6 months and he said that it has changed and that some say 4 and some say 6, but that most doctors and pediatricians now say 4 months is ok. So might give it a try...who knows, he might like it, might not...
Well then, I best head off and go have some brekky before Noah wakes as he'll be needing a feed I'm sure! lol DH is working today, but MIL is coming over to help me move some stuff upstairs and then tomorrow one of DH's friends is coming over to help him move our furniture upstairs! lol Yay, we're finally moving upstairs tomorrow!! Woot woot!!!

Pretz - I was only thinking this morning that im going to start Ben on solids next week. Hes still waking up every 2 hours at night to feed, and my ECHN said its fine to start him at 4 months if I think he is ready. Im not running out of milk - my boobs still leak everywhere, so I think he just needs that little something extra ... hmmm such a big decision.

Might take the kids to the beach late, late this arvo, but the only other plans I have today are to be lazy!! Gotta get the kids crap organised for school tomorrow or Tuesday. Can't WAIT for that!
Hoping I can convince DH to cook dinner for me tonight, but I doubt it. If he does it'll only be if I clean the kitchen first anyway, so we'll see...

Nikki - I was talking to my chn as well regarding introducing solids and she said to me due to the hospitals policies she still has to tell me 6 months but she said that if I think he's ready to give it a go so I went and bought some farex and a couple of 4+ months raffertys Gardens just to see if he likes the taste before I go and buy a bunch of fruits and veges coz I do plan on pureeing my own baby food. But I'll give him some of that next week and see what happens. He's such a big boy and does the mouth moving thing when he watches DF and I eat. So GL with it and fingers crossed it helps ben to sleep a but longer for you.
Pretz - happy four months to your beautiful little dude. I hope introducing some farex works for you to and that Noah sleeps longer at night as well. Glad all went well with his needles and he wasn't to bothered by them. I'm booking coops in to get his done at the same time I get a check up regarding my pnd and probably get a papsmear while I'm there to :doh: I just keep putting it off so figure I should just get it out of the way. Having said that AF hasn't made an appearance yet so no doubt she'll show up then lol
Afm - happy 16 weeks coopy. Just had a 1.5 hour nap and geez I needed it. I feel spritely now lol. A friend of DFs came to have a look at my little 2 door car today and said he'll come back to get it next week when his partner gets paid. I'm having mixed emotions, I'm glad we've finally sold her but I'm so sad coz I freaking love that little car, she was so good to me over the years lol oh well time to move on to bigger and better cars lol anyways I need to widdle and the little man is stirring so I better scoot.

saturday J was going to call in the morning. i waited around til 12 and he hadn't so i went to bendigo for my friends house warming party, had a good day/night we swam in their pool, v loved it. then i had a few drinks, stayed up all night, even DTD with my good friend 'with benefits' i guess you could call him (we have had an ongoing casual no strings thing for 2 years or more). nice to say that it is over and done with first time post baby and that i won't be going back for any any time soon. satisfied my curiousity LOL. i don't care if that makes me sound sl*tty, I had an urge and I dealt with it.. its only human.
yesterday i spent the day at my sisters it was like 40 here :( yuk. then after dinner we went and picked up my friend and went around to J's. i know i've been waiting for him to show and see V but I had to go there while i was in town, its been weeks since he's seen him. he was holding him so closely i felt sad that they had been apart, though I know it wasn't entirely my fault. hoping to see him at our place for a visit later in the week.
now i'm in melbourne, my friend and i drove back to her place after we visited J. its just as hot today as yesterday so we've been inside in the air con. very nice compared to outside. hopefully tomorrow is going to be cooler and we can get out and go to the shops or the beach or something.
Raffy and Pretz - have you tried solids? any luck?
Hi Nikki. Tried some yesterday, he pulled a funny face but he ate it lol. How did you go with feeding some to ben?
Brydz - no ones judging you chicky lol its not like just coz you have a kid now your expected to never have sex again. Hope your having loads of fun in Melbourne and the weather isn't to hot for you.
Afm - my sister arrived today, poor thing has been awake for like 36 hours so I better take my whingy kid off her so she can sleep. DF should be home soon and then he can take coops so I can sleep. Mum gets here on Friday, can't wait :) bbl xx

Just a quicky from me - have been busy, busy, busy, but we've finally moved upstairs and it's GREAT! Sooo much cooler and nicer. I think even Noah is noticing the change as he slept 7 hours straight on Sunday night (our first night up there) before his first feed and then another 4 hours til morning. Last night he woke 2 times, but fell asleep again straight away so happy with that and to my shock and surprise this morning, he had a 3 hour nap from 9am til 12:15pm!! He didn't have any naps this arvo, but crashed tonight after his bath and a bottle at 6:30pm.
Nikki & Raffy - I tried giving Noah some Farex on Sunday night and although he took about 2 spoons full, he started crying, I think it was because he was tired at the time I had given it to him, so might try again tomorrow, didn't try yesterday or today as I figured I wouldn't push it. :crossfingers: that he will enjoy it when I try again and if not, then I'll wait again before trying again. Glad to hear that Coop's liked it Raffy. ;) Did you end up trying to give some to Ben Nikki?
Alrighty lovelies, gotta dash, have to get dinner started as haven't made it yet and it's already after 7pm.
Have another catch up with my Antenatal class Mummies tomorrow so looking forward to that. Will try to get on here tomorrow arvo and catch up on some persies.

Pretz and Raffy - I haven't given Ben any yet, he's got his needles tomorrow so I just want to get him past that tomorrow and give him couple of days and then will see how we go. Dont want to get the grizzles confused with starting solids or immunisations IYKWIM. Itching to start it though. Going to buy a new food processor on Thursday so it will make pureeing and chopping so much easier.
Group Question: Has anyone seen the Avent Steam and Flip Blender? Whats your thoughts?? What applicances have you got/are you going to get to make solids???
Raffy - glad Cooper liked the solids and very happy for you that your mum is almost here!

Ben fed 4 times last night and has stacked on the weight again this week after slowing down for a few weeks.
AFM - Packed away all the 00's today :( I had absolutely nothing in 0's so i had to go out and spend $300 on new everythings for ben, onesies, long rompers, singlets, shirts, shorts, pants, long sleeves, jumpers. FEeeeewwww glad that is over!! Going to catch up with a preggy gf tomorrow so should be fun :) Also going to look at getting a rabbit for Summer. So excited!!
Oh i did the dumbest thing today. Was soaking one of Summers T-shirts in the trough... left the tap on .... .... .... you guessed it - flooded laundry :doh:

DOH!!!!!! I just cannot keep up on here or with the 'latest trends'. When my siblings were born, they started solids at 4 months. When I had Bailey and NJ it was 6 months but Bailey started at 5.5months and then stopped after a week for a fortnight due to constipation and then started again. NJ started at about the same time with no probs! Alannah does not have a CHN check up until 6 months so will wait till then but she does not really show any signs anyway. She can't even drink 180mls of formula yet anyways! lol

8 - 8.30am - wakes up and bf
1 - 1.5hr play
9.30am - 10am - morning sleep
11am - 11.30am - wakes up for ff
1 - 1.5hr play
12.30 - 1pm - nap
1.30 - 2pm - wakes up for bf

4pm - 4.30pm - nap for no more than 30 mins and then ff
play
6pmish - bf
sits at the table in her high chair whilst we eat
7.30pm - bath
8pmish - ff and bed

and Nikki - re: appliances - a fork is my utensil/appliance and ice cube trays! I just give bubs what ever we are having eg mash spud or mashed carrot, cauliflower etc - cheap, quick, easy and no fuss!
Nikki - tried some more solids today, farex mixed with pureed fruits, he loved it. kept opening his mouth for more and i was making a big deal about it and he kept laughing at me. question though - how often should i feed it to him at this age but making sure hes still getting enough FF as well? at the mo hes had it once a day for a few days just to see if he likes it and how he would go with his swallowing reflex, but hes got it all down pat. WOW at Ben being in 0s. coopers fitting into 00 perfectly, i have to go through his drawers and put all the 000s in storage there is no way he would still fit them and then that makes room for the 0s that he will soon fit into at the rate hes growing
Pretz - wooooooooooo freaking hoooooooooooooooooo for finally moving upstairs!! thats so awesome. and WTG Noah on sleeping so long.
AFM - well we are having a slumber party downstairs, coops is fast asleep in the portacot, Sister is sleeping on the couch and DF and I are on a matress on the floor. it its WAY to hot upstairs and there is no A/C up there only downstairs. the heat hits you like a brick wall half way up the stairs, its yukky. anyhoo off to check on my mummas animals (they are staying in temporary accomodation up the road but sister will hang with us coz the house they have is stinking hot as well even with the A/C on) and then im coming back to snuggle with my man and fall asleep hopefully early :crossfingers: night allll xx
We aren't thinking about solids yet. She's showing slight interest, but I'm waiting til about 6 months to do BLS. We might not end up waiting that long, but I have no interest in starting yet. My big girls started between 4 & 5 months. DS was between 5 & 6 months.
Summer isn't really in a routine yet. Depends on the day. She goes down for the night between 8 & 10, might wake for a feed about 1am, usually sleeps til 4 or 5, then feeds & stays in bed with me. Sleeps til about 8ish. Up for an hour or 2, down for about an hour. More play, another sleep & a bit more play til she has a big arvo sleep from about 4 til 7ish.
Then bath & cuddles with dad & bed again :)
Coopers routine:
wakes between 6-7
drinks 240mls
plays for 1.5-2 hours
sleeps til 10-11
drinks 180mls
plays/cuddles/drinks some more
falls asleep at 2-3
wakes at 4-5
drinks more (120ml)
has a bath at 5
drinks more (180ml)
has a big cuddle and a cry :rolleyes:
falls asleep at 7 and wakes again at 7.30 :wall:
drinks 60ml
falls asleep again at 8.30-9
and sleeps til 6-7 then we start all over again.
NOTE: this is a day when we stay at home, it usually goes all out of whack if we go out somewhere but generally he'll sleep at around the same time in the pram just not for as long

Raffy - i cant really remember how much solids they are supposed to have at this age, i must go do some reading up on it. Always offer a milk feed first before solids up until the 8 or 9 months (by then i think they should be having 3 meals ... breakfast, lunch and dinner), otherwise they get consitpated really easily. Hope your house cools down for you, there is truly nothing worse huh!
Vix - I dont know why they dont just say ... start solids when your baby is ready and willing??? Save all the troubles of ifs and buts.
AFM - Tried Ben on a little farex last night. He swallowed some of it but pushed most of it back out. Think I will wait another couple of weeks and add some pureed apple in there or something.
He had his needles and is currently sleeping like a good boy.
Had to replace the battery on my car today. Grrrr. How many more things can go wrong with the hunk of junk. Im losing faith in you Kia!

Then normally Feeds at 1.15am (precisely) and 4:00am

we are enjoying melbourne.
v doesn't really have a routine but it goes somewhat like this
7-830 awake and bottle between 830-930.
play, sleep, boob feed at some stage some times
bottle around 12-2ish
boob feed mid arvo. sometimes a bottle.
bed at 7-830ish.
wakes at 1-230ish, 4-5ish, and sometimes again before 8. which is annoying.
it really is all over the place.
i prefer not to enforce routine on him, I have tried making bedtime regular and what not but it has made no difference to his sleeping over night anyway. so therefore he eats when he is hungry, sleeps when he is tired (most of the time I do an awesome job picking up on the tired signs) and plays when he is awake.
There is a rule 'food is fun til they are one'.
Breast milk or formula are the most important source of nutrients til they are one :) Always offer it first.
