Hi All,
just a quick one cause I have bad internet here. Am in the hospy with Madison :crying:
She started refusing feeds last Wed, and its just gotten worse. Her daily intake should be about 800ml for her weight, and shes only taking 300-600ml.
They reckon its due to the reflux, but I just don't know. I'm so exhausted & scared that maybe its something else & they are just missing it!!!
I wouldnt have thought reflux could be so bad that she wont even have more than a few sucks. tonight is the 3rd night shes gone to bed with an empty belly. My heart is breaking for her & ive been crying all afternoon. I hope that they bloody well do something tomorrow, instead of just "monitoring" her.
Sorry for the me/vent post. Am just so anxious/nervous i'm almost vomiting. Will update when able to.
Bec xo
Bec, I'm so sorry to hear. I know its different coz little Maddi is so small, but I had DS in hossy with similar problems at 9 months old.
He had a fever & was lethargic, but that was it. They were the only symptoms he had. After 3 days in with the drip he started feeding again & we went home with the diagnosis of a viral bug :dunno: As we were leaving a rash started on his feet. It was scary, but he was ok.
Praying that your little princess only has something similar... look after you xx
huge  Bec, i pray its nothing, will be keeping you and Maddi im my thoughts, stay strong sweety xox
Clover - do your meds give you a headache and make you nauseous?? the nausea isnt to bad but this headache is agony. can you take anything for it or will it affect the meds?
I felt nauseous for the first week or so, & grit my teeth alot too.
They all have different side effects, but they'll usually settle. Mine increases everything for the first 4 or so weeks, then reduces it. (Sorry, dunno how to explain that better, lol).
When I wasn't sure though, I posted in the private depression & anxiety support group. Have you joined there?? There are others in there on the same meds as you & they'd be able to answer any questions you have :)
Hello everyone,
I do read and keep up to date, but just don't find the time to post!
Raffy - Big hugs hun, glad you have sought help & you will get through it! xx
Clover- Also big hugs! x
Pretz - I would hate DH to be away, hang in there. How exciting about your house though!!
Ummm...hi to everyone else as well!!
AFM - All going along good, have an appointment with ECHN this arvo just for a chat about TY's chucking, i think i just need someone to tell me that the amount he chucks is fine, on a bad day 20-30 times, i just worry it will do damage or something and want to make sure we shouldn't be looking down the "intolersnce to something" road!! He is still on his reflux meds but i have decreased the dose down to a third of what he was on, so after our holiday i will try & take him off and i think he will be fine!! The chucking doesn't worry him at all, he thinks its funny, so thats a good thing i suppose!! He is a little chunker too, so it is not effecting his weight so i'm sure she'll just say that it is a case of his sphincter in his oesophagus maturing!! Can't wait for that day!! Off on holidays fpr 2 weeks this friday, so you all take care and i'll catch up when i get back!! Will pop back in this arvo & update on the appointment!!
Vix - How did it all go?? was thinking of you yesterday! xx
Hello Ladies! Gosh, where do I start?!?
I have been reading for the last couple of weeks but havent been able to post, so excuse me if I forget someone or something!!!
Raffy - Sorry to hear about the PND, I am so glad you went and did something about it quickly though. Big hugs love for the cry you had at the doctors. Hope the headache eases up soon.
Brydz - J can get stuffed - dont give a copy of the birth certificate, if he wants one he has to get your permission anyway. Both parents have to sign the form. Hold off for as long as possible. Way to go on Vinny's growth. 3cm in 3 weeks ... little mushroom indeed!!
Clover - Buggar about having PND too. Hope things start picking up quickly for you.
Sparkles - Have a good time away and I hope things went will with your appt. in regards to Ty's chucking. What was the answer from the ECHN?
Vix - HUGGGEEEE HUGS and best wishes that things went well yesterday. You are a strong lady and I know you would have been brave at your appt!! Thinking of you.
Beckels - How is little Madison today? I really hope they have found out what is causing her not to feed, nothing worse than when the little one is in hospital.
Pretz - Thanks for checking on me love, hope you are managing ok with Peter being away every 2 out of 3 days. Saw your profile pic on FB. Noah looks so cute!
AFM - Still down south, living it up on the beach. Have totally loved it but ready to come home now, should be doing so on Friday, so promise to post more then! God, I feel like I am just throwing money down the drain, Ben is now about 67cm long and into size 0 clothes. Friggin bulldust. Had to go buy a whole new wardrobe the other day, lucky target has got 20% off :wall:
Booking in to have Bens needles done in 2 more weeks and also to get a papsmear. Yay. FUN :o
Heeeeey Nikstar!!!!! Great to hear from you. My boys were like that. Alannahrama...not so much. Still in 000 and some 00's! Gotta love a pap smear huh?:shakehead:NOT!
Raffy - well done on taking the 2nd step to helping yourself through PND.(The first step being the actual visit to your Doc) You have done well and deserve a massive pat on the back. Do what Clover suggested and join the PND thread etc but make sure you stay with us as well! lol I understand the side affects may not be what you want but they are a means to an end..the light at the ed of the tunnel.
Bec - Oh dear! Poor Maddy. :hug:Big hugs to both of you. PLEASE don't sit there and let the nurses etc do what they think is the best thing. Tell them you want her checked and dble checked for viruses, blockages etc etc etc. She is your daughter, you set the rules. I chucked a tanty in hospital when I had my 2nd child, almost every shift got an ear bashing and they finally called the Pediatrician for me who told them to clean Noah out again. (he was mucousy) They did it and we were fine to go home the next day.
Pretz - Cheers for your text this morning. Hope you have grabbed some shut eye whilst MIL is with you.:D
Clover - How are you feeling today? Hope the sun is shining down on you and your gorgeous daughter.
Brydz - Love the piccy of Vinnie sitting on the loud. Mr Cheeky!
AFM: Had my needles.....errrr...let me rephrase that.....Had my TWO needles yesterday!:wtf: I thankfully did not feel the needles go in so they must have been super fine. I kept my eyes closed form the moment I laid down and didnt see anything! My results should be available on Friday so I have a late appointment with my GP. I am still sore today and had to take panadol last night to get some comfort. It helped me fall asleep too. I have a gut feeling I think I will have my Thyroid removed which means weaning Alannah. I will though chuck her on the breast as often as possy and hopefully my milk won't go away completly......that is if I end up having an Op. *shudders* Still have not told my family or DH's. Easier not too.
This week has been rather crappy, emotionally. I was a horrid Mother on Monday. I screamed at the kids all day. I yelled so loud at Alannah she started screaming even more. I broke my own heart. The boys went to MIL yesterday and I was able to cope better. I fed Alannah, quick cuddle and would put her down for play time quickly so she would not pick up on my anxiety. Today I have tried hard but my emotions etc have got the better of me again. I know once I start Medication or have the Op I will soon be back to my normal self. The meds are for life either way which is fine. I just miss ME!
Ho-Hum! Kids are sleeping so I need to get stauck into my house wrok. My kitchen is a shocker and the sink has a rather funky smell.
ILY all!!!!!!!!!
xxxxx
Hello girls!
Nikki - Welcome back honey! and you're very welcome for the txt! Don't worry about Ben being in 0's already, Noah is mostly in 00's but has also started in some 0's already too! I thought that I had HEAPS of clothes that would last me ages, but I don't even think he is going to be able to wear some of it at all! lol Noah is now 66cm :o so not far behind Ben. Wow, what tall boys we have! lol Glad that you're having a great time hanging out at the beach each day. I've booked Noah's 4 month needles for the 28th and will most likely have an internal tomorrow at my OB/Gyn checkup!
Raffy - Sorry to hear that you had a cry at the GP's, but well done on going and for starting your meds honey. I hope that the headache and nausea has gone away by now and that today was a better day for you already!
Beckles - I'm so sorry to hear about Madi being in hossy and that she's not feeding well. I am keeping you in my thoughts and prayers and hope that they can figure out what is wrong with her soon. I agree with what the other girls said, push them to run tests to find out the cause and don't let them just tell you they will monitor her.
Sparkles - Thanks honey. Yes, I absolutely HATE it when DH is working away. It's good money and guaranteed work which is great, but it just sucks to not have him home at night. He did however come home last night and will be back again tomorrow night, away Friday night and back again Saturday night and have Sunday off. Sorry to hear bout Ty's chucking. I hope that the ECHN was able to help / give you some info / advice and that it's nothing serious. Hope you enjoy your holidays! ;)
Vix - HUGE HUGE HUGE 's to you honey! I'm glad that you didn't feel the needles go in, but sorry to hear you had some pain from it since. I hope that which ever way you decide to go (having your thyroid removed or not) you know that we're here for you and that I hope you will feel like your normal self SOON! I hear you on the crappy and emotional horrid day. I was very impatient and cranky with Noah yesterday as he hardly slept at all and was up since 3:45am. I was shattered last night and he woke again 2 times through the night. I was in tears this morning before DH left and he phoned my MIL to come over to help me out a bit today (see more in AFM).
Brydz - Hope everything is going well and that J isn't causing you any further stress.
Hello to everyone else!
AFM, as mentioned to Vix, I had a bit of a crappy and emotional day yesterday as I was exhausted mentally and physically and this morning when I burst into tears, DH phoned his Mum and she was here by 9am! Was so thankful to have someone over to help out a bit as I just couldn't keep going. MIL was sooo lovely, she did my washing, ironing, dishes and fed Noah a bottle and settled him for an hour sleep and played with him while I had 2 hours sleep! Yay!! I felt like a million bucks when I woke up. lol Noah went to sleep at 7pm this evening and I have had my shower and dinner so am about to head to bed too as soon as I finish this post. Our floors are coming along nicely, with the first coat of varnish on today, with the second coat to follow tomorrow and the third coat on Friday. I am off with Noah tomorrow morning to join the Mummies from my antenatal classes at the park for a picnic with the babies and then have my MIL baby sitting Noah tomorrow arvo when I go for my OB/Gyn appointment to see what the go is with my unbearable pain with DTD... Wish me luck. I'm sure it's nothing serious, but obviously it's not normal, so hopefully it is nothing serious!
Hope you all have a great night!
Love to you all!
xoxox
howdy all.
just a quickie.
hello Nikki, Sparkles and Beckels nice to see you guys!!
I am soooooooooooooo tired. Had 4 nights in a row now of crappy sleep. lets hope tonight works better.
i was so scatterbrained and out of it today that I bloody reversed into another car at the supermarket and smashed my tail light :( wasn't too happy about that! at least I only damaged mine though. glad I hit a car with a tough bull bar (although at the same time if it was a lil car there with no bull bar I probably wouldn't have hit it, and probably wouldn't have busted my light!).
going to bed soon. can't even be bothered writing replies will come on tomorrow.
Vix – can’t believe Alannah is 4 months old! Wow! She is a beautiful bubba
I hope your test results come back soon and are positively happy results! Hope u had fun cleaning ur funky smelling sink LOL. My car has a funky smell lately, got no idea what it is from. Have to go a hunting..
Raffy – HUGSSSSSSSSS. Glad to hear that you went to the dr and are getting onto some medication. It will hopefully make a huge difference! I personally am a believer that given the right amount of time and support you can think your way through depression and out the other side :) Try not to get too dependent on the meds. I have friends who have been taking them non stop for years and ‘freak out’ if they miss one. I had them once for 8 weeks. And they helped in the immediate instance but after that 8 weeks I helped myself to get through it.
Beckels – sorry to hear Maddi is in hospital! Hope she is feeling better now! HUGS you poor thing it would be a bit scary :( hopefully its nothing serious and like the drs say is just because of the reflux.
Sparkles – wow Ty chucks a lot. That’s no good. I hope he is okay, sounds like he is doing well still gaining weight even though hes a chucker. Some babies have a lot more trouble holding stuff down than others. Im sure in the long run he will be okay :) ooh enjoy your holidays! The furthest I go is to my mums house up the road. Hoping to take a holiday to South Australia in about march. That will be nice
Nikki –ooh the beach! Sounds lovely. I can’t wait til v is a few months older and I can take him to the beach (though will prob have to wait til summer comes around again). Wow ben is a big boy. Growing so well! I’m about to give away half of V’s 0 clothes (hes still in 000, but 00 in onesies). To a family devastated by the floods. By the time he is big enough for them ill have had a while to buy some more. So tis all good. Its nice to do something nice for someone :)
Pretz – still haven’t heard anything from J. hopefully he’ll either contact my lawyer or I’ll hear from the mediation folks before I hear from him. I’m really not in the mood. Oh hun you’ve had emotional troubles too? Sounds like most of us have had a bad day/few days lately :( its harder when bubs won’t sleep well hey!! Hopefully its just a growth spurt and Noah will be right back to awesome sleeping soon :)
Afm – just having a crap week all around. Supposed to go to mums group today and usually theres only 2 others that come, they are both not going today so I’m not sure if I’ll bother. Might go just to get him wiehged and ask about his frequent feeding issues.
And I was going to take v swimming tomorrow with my ‘friend’ and her 18 motnh old. But she has blocked me on facebook for no apparent reason. Getting a bit fed up with this town, its so depressing. Everyone here is just *******s. I miss my friends from Bendigo (not that they show a lot of interest in my life lately either. Starting to feel isolated again and I hate that feeling).
V slept a bit better last night. so this morning i've ran around while I had the energy and packed away the rest of the shopping I left out yesterday (non fridge stuff). put all the washing away. done a load of washing, put it through the dryer and re-snapped all the nappies I washed 2 days ago. Still have to go to the post office and pick up 2 parcels (MCNS and my new video camcorder :D) go to MCHN and get V weighed etc. go through his stuff and take the donation to my friends place for her to pass on.
and better go have my shower while he is snoozing..
Update. I am now in a better mood.
My new camcorder already arrived off ebay. that was quick! I found Zumba on sale at the post office for $99 tomorrow I'm going back to get it!!
I ran into my friend (who I thought blocked me) while at the post office also. We are still taking the kiddies swimming tomorrow. She has deleted her facebook entirely.
And BDM sent me a letter about V's middle name dispute.
Obviously they suggest Vincent James to J and he's said no he will agree to Vincent James Leo (Leo is the one he wants) and I am more than happy to agree to that. Because I wanted Vincent James in the first place!!! When I was first pregnant.
hi ladies, thought i would come on here and do some persies while i have more than 2 minutes to spare.
Sparkles, Nikki, Vix, Pretz & Byrdz - thanks for your kind words and support re: my PND it seriously means so much to me that i have you ladies to chat to.
Brydz - i have 2 months worth of meds, i wasnt planning on using them at all but it really was a matter of urgency, i had thoughts of self harm and all that, im seeing a theropist starting next week, and hopefully in 2 months Coops will be at an age where he will be much more independant and my mum and sister are also moving over to here to be with me as well so i wont be alone while DF is at work and if i really need them they will be just round the corner, the other big issue is that i dont have a car and DF takes his to work so im stuck in the house all the time, however i found a good car in the paper yesterday and call up about it this morning and we are going to have a look at it this arvo, that will make a huge difference. Im so sorry to hear youve had a crap week, i hope you still went to MG just to get out of the house and have a chat to someone. that sucks that your 'friend' has blocked you on FB, i burst into tear the other day (which i do alot just randomly) but this one had a reason, its my 21st in 8 weeks and i was talking to DF about what i should do, i dont really have any friends so there is not point in having a party and i would like to go out clubbing but the friends that i do have are a bit 'nanna-ish' as in they will just fall asleep in the middle of a club!! so it seems this birthday is just going to be like any other as in we'll go out to dinner and have a few quiet ones, but its my 21st and i would have liked it to be HUGE but its not gonna happen :( so i no how you feel in regards to the isolation and loneliness, it really does suck. on the upside im super glad that V slept good for you and you managed to get so much stuff done, well done you.
Pretz - huge huge 's sweety, how are you feeling today? how was the antenatal meet up?? im sorry to hear you had a rough few days without DH but im so happy that MIL was there to help out and give you a break, thats tops. hope everything goes swell with the ob/gyn and that your floors are looking good, you'll have to put some pics up on FB when they are done so wee can all check it out :)
Vix - thank you, i will join the PND thread but there is no way i will leave here, i rely on you ladies way to much haha im sorry to hear you had to have TWO needles wtf?? but its good you didnt feel them at the time! how is it feeling today? still sore? i hope you dont have to have it removed so you can still keep BF Alannah. i will be thinking about you tomoro if/when you get your results
Nikki - hope you've enjoyed your holiday. im sure it was fabulous. wowzers on Bens weight and size, thats awesome. well done you. hope you have a safe drive back home, and look forward to hearing from you more often when you settle back in.
AFM - cant say much more i can hear Coops starting to stir, im feeling better already. not completely better but i can definately tell the difference, i dont get AS anxious and upset when Cooper cries now. im a little upset, DFs parents have been asking questions as in 'why did you have days off work last week' and 'why did Amy go to the doctors' and DF just keeps saying oh shes just a little sad WTF?? call it what it is. its like hes ashamed of me! i didnt get PND on purpose. i think he thinks its not a big deal and its normal?? ummmmm its not normal to not want to hold your own child, and when your breast feeding you feel physically sick. i showed him the letter from the doctor that says 'servere post partum depression' and 'its a matter of urgency as im worried re: self harm' and 'possible hospitalisation' he just goes 'oh ok' its really getting to me, but im not sure why. i just dont want him to be ashamed of me, i already think im a failure as a mother as it is. anyways gotta dash, gotta fold washing before coops completely wakes up xx
Brydz - i didnt see your post till after i posted mine. im glad your in a better mood and that you met up with your friend and all the drama with J is finally sorting itself out. hmmm zumba for $99 might have to see if its the same here. hope you enjoy your camcorder
Hi girls, sorry for the quick one, I will come back later and do persies, its my SILs 21st today so we are busy cooking for the 35 people coming for tea!!
I just need some advice - Ben has got green poos (and i mean GREEN) and they are quite (TMI) mucousy. Does anyone know what this could be? His pooh after his night feeds in the morning is normal colour, but it gets greener throughout the day. Is it a hindmilk/foremilk problem, something I've eaten, an intolerance to dairy or something??? Its been like this for a week now. His otherwise his normal self, happy, sleeping, has only put on a little weight this week though.
Sorry for the MEEEE post!!! Its stressing me out thinking he is sick...?
Hey Nikki,
Re: Bens poo...are you taking any supplements? One of the mums in my MG has had the same prob with her lil bubs super green poo, the Dr told her it was due to the iron in the elevit she is taking whilst BF... Just a thought...
Hi everyone else...
BBL for a longer post

Beckles i just realised that the picture of madison in your signature is the same as the cartoon pic of the little girl holding the rabbit on your ticker
sorry Nikki, no help re: poohs. hope its nothing though
i just rememered im going to a 'young parents' group tomoro, im excited and nervous at the same time lol oh and i just bought a car, sweet sweet freedom
Nikki - I'd say its a milk issue. Don't stress too much, it should resolve itself. If you want you could express off some fore milk & see if that helps.
Jesse had the same problem for a while. Hasn't happened to Summer yet.
Hope it sorts itself out soon
Hi Ladies,
Raffy & Clover- I really feel for you both having PND and needing meds. I've never had PND (sometimes I wonder though) but I have a history of depression and was on Anti dep meds for nearly 11 years! (been off them since oct 09) Its awful having those kinds of thoughts & feelings, but I'm positive you will both get through it, it's just another part of life's journey, which clearly loves nothing more than chucking us challenges every now & then. As long as you always keep the communication lines open when possy, it certainly makes it easier
& Raffy I hope you do something special for your 21st, mine was rubbish, and I'll never forget that :( and as for your DF saying your a "little sad" maybe tell him how you feel about it, and that you feel like he's ashamed of you. Men can be so insensitive sometimes (even when they don't mean to be) Lucky they have other redeeming qualities, or we would just do without them altogether lol p.s. you are in no way a failure as a mummy, just recognising there is a problem, and doing something about it just shows what a freakin awesome mummy you are!!!
Sparkles- Aww sorry to hear about Ty's chucking. One of the bubs in my MG is a mega chucker, i've never seen anything like it, but that aside he's a happy lil vegemite. What meds is Tynan on for Reflux? Have fun on your hols!
Vix- Good luck with your results. FX they are good, and at least when you know, you can get it sorted one way or another.
Pretz - Gee I can only imagine how hard it is when your DH is working away. My DP is on call 24/7, and sometimes has to go out at night..I hate being in the house on my own (I'm such a sooky) Your doing a super job!!! Yay on your MIL helping out! And good luck with your gyny appt. I hope the can help you out. TMI> I still find DTD- not painful, but very strange, umm definetely uncomfortable. i'm sure its nothing serious for you though, sending positive healing vibes! and yay on your floors too!
Brydz- Gosh I'm sorry to hear you have been having a rough trot of late. I'm glad you are getting to give Vinny the name you wanted...Woohoo! Hope you both have fun swimming tomorrow. Zumba looks like fun, but meh, i'm sooo lazy I feel if I've done the housework & stuff, that is my exercise lol
Nikki - I hope you have found an answer for poor Ben's weird poos
:hello: to everyone else, huge sorry if I missed anyone
AFM- Thank you all for the reassuring words with Madi being in hospital. Had a long talk with the Paediatrician before we left hossy, he is confident that it's reflux, and has asked for me to follow his suggestions until next Fri when he will R/V her. And these are: Losec 10mg x 2 a day, coloxyl drops & brown sugar in water for her constipation, and solids x 3 day (rice cereal) was a bit :o but she's been chowing down something crazy!!! And if it helps to control the reflux I'll do just about anything!
Her FF intake is still not what it should be, but has improved mildly - around 600mls daily. I've become so anxious at feed times, & I've convinced myself that I can't even make a healthy baby, and she is suffering because of me. Poor DP has been trying to be positive & reassuring, but honestly sitting with Madi at feed times with tears running down both our faces, it just sucks badly, and I hope its sorted out soon. (you've got this one week DR Paed - I hope your right or you will be feeling my wrath!)
Anyhoo, I'm so glad that I have BB, and you ladies...it is my sanity saver :grouphug:
BTW - This year has got off to a pretty crappy start for many on BB and IRL, with loss and devestation :crying: here's hoping things get real better, real fast!
p.s. Madi does look like her ticker cartoon...never noticed that before haha
Bec xo
Raffy -
Oh sweety, DF is not being insensitive on purpose. He does not understand what you are going through. My DH was and still is the same. He has told me in years since then that he never knew what I was going through but knew I had hit rock bottom. I had thoughts of self harm too. Not self inflicted but of something else harming me like being hit by a car, a dog attack etc I don't think he is ashamed though but it is tough on him also. I know he hates seeing the love of his life like this and I know Cooper loves you REGARDLESS!
For a normal, healthy person these are NOT normal thoughts but for you atm, this is normal for you. I just wish I could reach out and hold you and let you know you are never, ever alone. I am actually tearing up now. I wish I could fix everything for you. I am glad you have family coming to your rescue!
One more thing. You are not failing as a Mother. You are a bl00dy brilliant Mummy.
Please hang in there.
We all love you hun.

:grouphug:
Hello ladies!
Brydz - I hear ya on being tired and sorry to hear about your car's tail-light. Glad to hear that Vinny slept better the night before. I'm sorry that your friends haven't been there for you and that you are feeling emotional and crappy too. It sure sucks feeling that way. I wish we all lived closer to each other as we could have our own real life meet ups and chats and visit each other too! Would be so great!
Raffy - Glad to hear that you're feeling a bit better already. I too am feeling a bit better and Noah slept much better last night, even though he woke 2 times for a feed, but that's kind of my fault (see AFM below). I will definitely make sure to post some photos on FB once the floors upstairs is finished. All that needs to be done then is the kitchen benches, cupboard doors, tiling in the kitchen and bathroom and that's it, but we're going to move up there in the next week or so (once floors are properly dry) and I can't wait. It's going to be much cooler than it is down here! :) Yay on the new car, what did you get? And enjoy your young Mum's group!
Nikki - Sorry to hear about Ben's green poo's, but unfortunately I don't have any advice/info on that. Perhaps ring the 13 HEALTH number or try to phone your GP or Pediatrician to ask whether it might be worth while taking him in for a checkup?? Hope it's nothing serious! Thinking of you!
Beckles - Glad to hear that Madi is out of hossy and that it's going better. I hope that the recommendations from the Pediatrician works and that she feeds like her normal self soon! Did you have an internal examination from your OB/Gyn at your postnatal checkup? The reason I'm asking is because I never did - he just asked how I was feeling etc, but perhaps if you didnt and are still uncomfortable you should have it checked out (see AFM below why I say that).
Vix - Good luck with getting your results back this arvo, I will be thinking of you and hope it all goes well! Love ya honey!
AFM, I feel like a terrible Mummy as yesterday when we went to the picnic and even though we were in the shade, Noah got some sunburn on his face and on one cheek there is a couple of tiny blisters :crying: so I'm taking him to the GP this morning just to check him out and ease my mind hat it's not too bad. I'm glad I'm not the only one as some of the other girls has a couple of sunburnt babies too. I myself got pretty badly burnt on my shoulders and arms. I was just stupid and forgot how bad the Queensland sun can be. I feel so terribly to see my baby's red little face!! Was even in tears last night. Thankfully Peter was home. I also had my OB/Gyn appointment yesterday and didn't expect to hear what he told me - he did an internal examination and found that where I tore (sorry for TMI), there is some scar tissue and it has fused itself to the bottom/back part of skin from my va-jay-jay! I KNEW there was something not right and that it wasn't normal to be in that much pain while DTD. Well, I have to go in for day surgery on 9 February and my OB/Gyn will cut the scar tissue out (all done under general anesthesia) and then place the edges of the new incision together and re-stitch it. Think he called it Fenton's procedure. He said this should fix the problem. Wow, I certainly didn't expect that! :o
Well then, I best get going and get ready while Noah is having his nap to take him to the GP. Will be back later to update on Noah.
Love to you all!
xoxox
morning ladies.
VJ just had his second part of his bottle (still not all of it) he had 100mls about an hour ago and now another 50, still 50mls left. Oh well there's always some that goes to waste..
He is down for a nap YAY I can get off here and go shower after.
looking forward to swimming today, he has a cute lil 'baby cookie monster' body swimsuit I got at target on sale from $25 to $13!
gotta go to the post office and send the letter to BDM and also pick up ZUMBA! I really can't afford it, means I won't be paying my lawn mower guy but oh well, if I don't get it now on sale it will be another 6 months before I can afford it at normal price! and I wanna get fit!! I am so unco and it will be funny dancing around but anyway, looks like fun!
beckels -good to hear Madi is eating so well and taking to the solids. mum keeps saying i should start VJ on baby rice cereal stuff now because he just feeds so frequently... but he is not 13 weeks yet I think its too early. crying when feeding her and thinking you aren't good enough to make a healthy baby is not a good sign. have you considered that you might be struggling with PND too? have you done that online symptom checker thing? Having a child who isn't well is NOT a failure on your part whatsoever. These things cannot be helped. If you had a child starving and malnourished because you simply didn't feed her and neglected her, fair enough blame away but this is NOT your fault. hugs xoxoxo
raffy -even if you get together with 2 or 3 close friends and do something amazing like go to a day spa or something for your 21st. its not always about a big party. I invited heaps of people to mine and probably only ended up with about 40 people (3/4 of which were family!). didn't do anything special either just a bonfire and finger foods and alcohol. I enjoyed it, and the people who meant the most were there..
YAYYYYYYYYYYY for getting a car that is awesome!! what sort is it? u won't know urself now with more freedom! sometimes just getting out of the house is great. other times its a damn hassle, but at least u now have the option to go places!!
Good luck with your young parent group! I have been going to a 'new mums' group. Yesterday I was the only one there! LOL Its ended up the last few weeks just being 3 of us, myself, Sarah who's baby Elijah is a few weeks older, and my friend Alisa and her baby Thomas who is 3 days younger than V. It is just nice to socialize with other mums. Hopefully we can continue to catch up just the 3 of us and the boys. Next week I'm going along to check out the local playgroup, see who's there and decide whether or not to join and do that regularly now that our mums group is finished.
hello to everyone else :D
Bek - Brown sugar and water.....man...that is such an old remedy but I have heard it works really well! Are you allowed to give her pureed fruit? If so...Pears are wonderful for unblocking little bodies! My Bailey can verify that! lol I am glad you have got some form of action underway. Please let us know how your gorgeous bubba goes this week. Put on some happy music like kids music during feed times ( The Wiggles are awesome for lifting spirits!)and sing to her. Make funny faces when she pulls faces etc. Try and make it a fun experience for you all.
Thinking of you.
:grouphug:
xxxxx
raffy -oh I didn't even see the part about DF and telling his family you are 'a little sad'. I'm sorry that he doesn't really understand it. He is probably not ashamed, but maybe he thinks his family might be judgemental and doesn't want to tell them whats going on because he is looking out for you? just a thought.
LOL VIX AND PRETZ we all posted at the same time!!
pretz -don't feel bad about Noahs sunburn. you have probably learnt from it and will be more cautious next time. we all make small mistakes hun xo I hope the GP visit goes well and that he is all okay. surgery on your vjayjay! OUCH. at least it will be fixed :) and you can go back to DTD without being in so much pain!
Pretz - Holy Cow! Okay, putting your day op date in my diary. You poor thing. Noah will be okay hun. These things happen. Atleast he got some Vit D!!!
Nikki - yes, a fast let down will give bubs green poo and sometimes with white 'bits' in it. My NOah had green poo and Alannah also has it atm. I was told with Noah to pull him off when the let down hits and just hold a face cloth over your boob to catch the milk. Alannah pulls off herself three and four times during a let down which makes it rather messy! lol (I just sent a booklet from the ABA about Forceful Letdowns to Vinnies.) VERY, VERY NORMAL! My let downs are still really painful and I pull the weirdest looks.........according to the boys in my life! lol
Brydz - what a great suggestion for a 21st! Mine was a family lunch....... :(........waaaaaaaay back in 1901! lmao
Hope you have caught up on some sleep! Bugger about the tail light. I do strange things when sleep dep'ed like pouring milk into the coffee cannister.....:shhh:
Vincent James sounds so much nicer than with the Leo bit! :)
Okay, have been all over the place doing persies. The kids are now outside and only goodness knows what they are doing. Might have to turn my music down so I can hear them.
Today should be results day.......if the results are at my docs........
Love to y'all,
xxxxx
Pretz - DS got sunburnt the other day too. His shoulders are peeling, so I know how horrible you feel :(
 Hopefully the doc will suggest some cream or something to help it heal.
The only birth I tore during was DD2's & i had a small piece of skin (outside) heal/fuse together in the wrong spot also. It didn't get in the way though. I had no idea til DH told me.
I think it came apart when DS was born, but I don't look myself  so I don't know... Haven't thought to ask DH.
Morning!
Pretz- So glad you have found out the problem, even if it means surgery, at least it will be fixed. My Gp did have a quick look, at my request, and said it all looked ok. Its not uncomfortable where I was stitched, (TMI) its more inside IYKWIM. If it continues i'll hassle my doc to have a better look around lol
Sorry to hear about Noah's sunburn... I did exactly the same thing to my DD1 when she was 6 wks old (20 yrs ago-it was a day at seaworld, I just didnt think), I know you feel awful, but I'm sure he will be ok. I carry baby sunscreen in Madi's bag & have made a habit of slapping it on whenever we are outside, cause yep the sun can be brutal, even when its overcast.
Brydz- I did that online Pnd thing just now and scored 19, so I think I may need to discuss it with my Gp, though she's on hols til next week. Yay on your bargain swimsuit! I love bargains!! But I hate when you pay full price for something & then see it on sale later so I never walk past one now lol
Raffy- Woohoo on the car! we were going to just be a one car family while i'm off work this year, glad we didn't, cause I would have felt sooo isolated. I did have to see my beloved mini cooper though, and buy a "suburban mobile" - which i'm still sad about. DP said I can get another one when madi doesnt need her ginormous pram anymore.
Vix- I know the brown sugar thing is ancient. All the older people i've told have been nodding their heads & saying uhhuh, told you so. And a nurse at hossy told me in her day (70's) babies started solids at 6 wks!!!! DP's mum told me all 4 of her DS's were raised on Carnation Milk!! WTH??? Thanks for the tips at feed times, I have been singing quietly to her while she feeds, will give music a go too.
AFM- Off to visit my bestie for a few hours. Havent seen her since Madi's feeding probs started, so she will see for herself today.
hope you are all having a good morning
Bec xo
Just popping in quickly to give an update on Noah....
Took him to the GP and he said that Noah's sunburn isn't too bad - he said to give him some panadol as he might be a bit sore, but that it should ease up in a couple of days. I also asked the GP about Noah not sleeping well the past 5 nights and asked if he could be teething. The GP checked his gums and said yep, he is teething with the 2 front top teeth starting to come through.... So at least I know why my baby hasn't been sleeping well. He said to give him panadol for the next 2 days and hopefully the panadol will help the sunburn and teething and if he isn't better by then to bring him back. So I'm feeling a bit better, although I've learned my lesson well and won't be going out into the sun with my little man again without REALLY slipping, slapping and slopping him with sunscreen, hats and the works.
Bec - Hope you have a great time visiting your bestie! From memory you're at the Gold Coast aren't you? Perhaps we should meet up oneday? I'm a bit north of you at Greenbank. ;)
Clover - Thanks honey. I hear ya on not being able to look down there yourself. lol It's strange when you know something isn't right, yet you can't see down there, I've tried a mirror, but find it useless! Hope DS's sunburn eased up and that after the peeling he is fine again.
Vix - Thanks for putting my op date in your diary. I know it's not a big deal as it's not like a major surgery or anything, just a day procedure and all, but I'm not looking forward to it and a bit nervous about it, it's not everyday you have someone cut and stitch up your va-jay-jay! :( lol Still :crossfingers: for you your results are in this arvo so you can know and have peace of mind! Thinking of ya honey!
Brydz - LOL Yes, I saw we all posted at the same time and was going to reply again straight away, but had to get ready and take Noah to the GP. Yes, once my va-jay-jay are all fixed, I won't have an excuse anymore for not wanting to DTD! lol Sorry for TMI, but my sex drive is still not what it used to be....I think perhaps lack of sleep and being so busy with Noah all the time is one of the big reasons that it's one of the last things on my mind! hehe :p Forgot to say this morning that I love Vincent James too! Not too sure about Leo either....
AFM, so happy because the tradie just left which means our floors are DONE! Whoohooooo! They just have to dry now for the next 48 hours and then MIL and I can go up there and give everything a nice clean next week. We are also going to start moving some little things upstairs and pack it in the cupboards and then on the weekend next weekend when DH is home, we can move the bigger stuff upstairs! Woot Woot! I can't wait!
Well then, since it's quiet and I don't have anything urgent to go do, there's no tradies, no noise and my baby is asleep, I might see if I can have a quick snooze too before he wakes again.
Hope you all have a lovely arvo and weekend!
Love you all!
xoxox
morning ladies.
Vix - hope your results came back okay. we are here for you either way xo thinking of you. I don't mind Vincent James Leo if J still gets his say with the Leo and everyone is happy. Its only a second middle name so I don't mind :) still cuts me that his mother talked him out of Eli because he needs to save it for his proper future children. I swear if he ever has another son to someone else and uses that name I will stop speaking to him. Vincent is my all time favourite name, and sure bubba was a surprise and not planned and not with a person I wanted to have a baby with, but he is still my beautiful boy and of course I used my favourite name. What if I never have more children?
beckels -hope you had a nice time visiting your friend. :) the online thing is only a guide I guess but if you have concerns then definitely bring it up with your GP. no point suffering on in silence if there is a reason for it and it can be treated! :) some days I feel like I should take that test but other days I feel fine. Its kind of hard to know if its something serious or not. I think I just have emotional days, its not constant. I think it has to be over 2 weeks straight to be classed as depression from memory.
pretz -woohoo! glad the tradies are done and you can start moving upstairs. thats awesome :) i feel like I just get money aside to do something at home (like fix my leaky chimney) and then I get more bills or find something else wrong (like the powerpoint on my kitchen bench sparking when you turn it on or off. can't be healthy), or break my tail light :( grrr. so hard on a pension! wow 2 teeth coming through? I think V might be teething too cos he get really cranky at times for no obvious reason and the amount of finger eating and drooling is increasingly significantly! LOL. reckon I can feel one on his bottom gum. That's good that Noahs sunburn isn't too bad! hope it clears up soon
afm -last night we tried a bit of baby rice after his bed time bottle to help fill his stomach. he slept til 1230 :( usually he at least gets to 1 or 2am.. what the hell. sleeping even less.. I wasn't impressed. then we were back up at 430 (gave him a bottle instead of boob and got 3 more hours!)
seriously considering the switch to formula full time. my boobs are playing up again :( its not much fun!
the pool yesterday was AWESOME fun. Vinny LOVED the water!! at first he was a bit freaked out by the floating sensation I think, but then he really relaxed. I had his head resting on a noodle at one stage and he was floating without me holding him. I dunked his head under with my hand over his mouth so he didn't swallow water. and he only had a little sook. I reassured him it was all okay and he was fine. he was swimming around on his tummy and put his face in the water a few times no problems after that. so proud of my boy.
we have no plans today. might Zumba a bit more (bought it yesterday).
Good Morning.
Bek - Make sure you do the online PND every few days as then it will give you a better idea and yes, speak with your CHN or GP. Hope you are okay though.
Clover - OUCH!
AFM - THANK YOU TO ALL OF YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT AND KIND WORDS!!!:grouphug:
Saw my GP yesterday with DH. No cancer!!!!!! The Pathologist stated in his statement he was confident there wasn't any. Phew! She wants me back in 6 months for another ultrasound though. Soooooo, I asked her why was it a low thyroid count then. She had forgotten about why I had seen her in the first place. :wall: Because the bloods were done a while ago now she did another one yesterday and I guess will call me next week if she needs to see me. I told her about my low metabolism, tiredness Now I have another week of waiting....waiting.....waiting......meanwhile I am drinking so much bluming coffee just to get through my bad days. Yesterday I had another flat stick day where I could not stop all day and even had trouble falling asleep last night. I had two days like this the other day too. Just can't stop! Then I am sluggish for a few days. WeIrD!
Any ways.....off to get lunch ready for the boys and hopefully, like yesterday, manage to get all three down for a sleep at around the same time. I think....don't quote me, I think Alannahrama wakes up, has her breakfast feed, play then sleeps for an hour, then up for her morning tea feed, bigger play time and then ..fingers crossed...has a sleep after lunch. Her late arvo nap (around 4pm) is in my arms in front of the telly. Normally I would not like that but I ahve done it for two days now and it is nice to stop and sit!
Okay, have an awesome weekend girlies.
xxxxx
wow you girls have been chatty.
Beckles - thank you for you kind words, Ill have to sit down sometime over the weekend and have a good cht with DF just put everything on the table and tell him how i feel, maybe then he might understand a little bit. how is madi going now? i hope the formula and solids are helping, hope you have fun visiting your friend :)
Vix - you made me cry. thank you so so much, i no DF doesnt understand what im going through but sometimes i just get so low i just need him to pick me up. i need him to make it all better but he cant. i am the same re: self harm, i wouldnt hurt myself but i imagine my self falling or being impailed (sp?) by something, but the sick thing is i imagine dropping cooper as well (not that i ever would) and the thought makes me shudder and feel sick but they are there. did you get your results back. im  its good news and if not we're here for you
Pretz - im glad your feeling better and that Noahs sunburn wasnt no biggy. im glad you've solve the mystery of the painful va jay jay, you poor thing, i can imagine DTD must have bee agony, kudos for even giving it a go. yay that the tradies ar gone and you can start moving upstairs soon, how exciting. cant wait to see some pics. the car i got is a daihatsu applause. just a little for door cheapo, but it gets me from A to B and the chance to go out whenever i want :)
Brydz - sorry to hear VJ didnt sleep well for you last night. but im glad he enjoyed the pool, i saw the cookie monster swimmers in target, they are so cute. thanks for you kind words to. you were right, DFs family are extremely judgemental and he didnt want them judging me to he played it down a bit, but when he was actually telling them, they seemed very sympathetic. also thanks for the 21st idea, a day spa actually sounds really really good. im glad your getting the name you want for VJ and i agree if J has a boy and calls him Eli i think thats all kinds of messed up. how is zumba going? im so tempted to buy it, it looks like fun, but some friends have it and they even say they were unco to start with as well. as i said to Pretz, the car i go is a daihatsu applause, its pretty cute, old, but in good nick and we got it was a bargain so cant complain.
AFM - i think we have teethys here to, Coopers been drooling and sucking his hand like there is no tomoro and today he has had a little temp and he is soooooo dam sooky. i only just got him to stay asleep. his eyes are hanging out of his head but he must have been in pain and just wanted to cuddle. as for sleeping at night tho last night was the 5th night in a row that hes slept 8.30pm - 6.30am. sooo nice. however im not falling asleep til after 12 which is doing my head in. got up this morning and cleaned the house, its nice to have it clean and now i can relax for the rest of the weekend. im pooped, might go have a bite to eat and try and nap before cooper wakes.
love you all xoxox
Vix - we posted at the same time - im so so so glad its not cancer but it sucks you have to wait again, thinking of you. hope you get all the kiddies down at the same time and that nice that you and Alannah have some nice cuddles in th arvo, i do that with coops sometimes to :)
hahaha Coops just full cracked up laughin in his sleep
hello again girls.
so far i've gotten nowhere LOL. can't get off the damn net!!
V is still asleep, just gone 2 hours! and he's doing so well, its almost 4 hours since his bottle!! he had a bit of a fever this morning and finally settled after panadol.
He hasn't done his poop of the morning yet, so it's going to be huge when it happens! think the rice might have constipated him a bit more than usual..
he must be due to wake up soon. I'd go start zumba but I know as soon as I start...
Just spoken to my best friend on the phone. She moved to Melbourne in November and it has been weeks since I've seen her. I really miss her. Going to visit her next weekend when I get paid regardless of whether or not I can really afford it!! She is starting a 6 month child care diploma course the week after and it will be really full on 4 days placement, 1 day study and lots of homework so I probably won't see her for 6 months :(
I was going to catch the train but with a pram, baby, luggage and portacot that I'd have to take no way! I'll drive. The most direct route is the freeway and the ring road. I don't like the idea of that city driving.. Or for 20 extra minutes driving time, but 2kms shorter I can go the 'back way' into her suburb via a place called Wallan (if it sounds familiar its where I went for V's newborn portraits.. so at least I know the way to there, just have to learn that last bit..).
i think J has tried calling me a few times but I keep missing it. not purposely. just don't happen to have my phone glued to the side of my head.. wonder if he's sent an email instead..
i'm off to check.
vix YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY for no cancer :) fantastic news!!!!!
Happy 18 weeks Alannahrama! *giggles*
xxxxx
Happy 18 weeks Alannah:hooray:
Hey guys :D
Home from the wedding. Gonna take a while to get over that weekend!!
Had to wait for DH & mum to finish work... after 3pm! Dropped the older kids with mum, packed up the car & left here about 4.30/5pm. Got to IL's place at 2am!
Then wedding at 4pm... home (motel) again at 2am! Sleep at about 4... awake at 8 :( Then we took turns, hour for hour, til we got home. We're both dead tired. Poor DH had to get up at 4 for work this morning.
Summer wasn't too bad. Long as one of us sat next to her in the car. She wasn't real impressed with SIL when she stuck a bottle in her mouth  No kids allowed at the wedding, so SIL baby sat across the road at the motel. Glad we did it that way!
Won't be doing a weekend car trip again for a long time! Even just with Summer it was too hard. Woulda been alot worse with all the kids!
Happy 18 weeks Alannah :D
Happy 18 weeks Alannah! Geez it seems not long since she was 14 weeks..
clover - sounds like a very tiring weekend! how far was the car trip? i'm planning on a trip to Adelaide in a few weeks time, which is about 7 or 8 hours driving (with breaks) from here.. won't be doing it in a weekend though NO WAY. gunna stay a few days at least..
afm -Vs not sleeping at night still is driving me nuts. I've stayed at mums the past few nights now. Just feel like I need back up in case I really can't handle waking again.. Last night he drank 230mls before bed and STILL woke at 130am. then 5am. then 630, cuddled in bed, wanted boobies again at 730. got up changed his bum, he wanted MORE boobies. put him back down at 8 and I got a whole of another half hour of sleep and he was up again :(
frustrating and exhausting. mum said the nurses she works with said its his 3 month growth spurt.. how long is a damn growth spurt supposed to take? he's been doing this well over a week now :(
i thought it was gunna be a nice day here, but it looks like its going to warm up again and be hot. ick over the hot weather because I hate putting V in the car and going anywhere (Even though I have air con). so we basically get stuck at home doing nothing.
at the moment hes on the floor watching 'toy box' he loves that show!
Hi all,
Im officially back! Will pop in tmr for persies (and gee there are a lot of them, you little chatterboxes, you!!)
But just wanted to say .... WAY TO FRICKEN GO VIX - NO CANCER!!!!!!! :happyforyou: :leap::thumbsup:
happy 18 weeks Alannah and 15 weeks for Coops & Summer yesterday to :)
Clover - wow your weekend sounds like it was full on. hope you had a good time at the wedding but, and manage to get some sleep today.
Brydz - sorry to hear V isnt sleeping. i can imagine how frustrating that must be, maybe talk to a CHN, they might have some ideas for you to use to get him to sleep a little bit longer. sucks that its hot down ther today, it muggy here and coops is such a sweaty baby so hes chillin out in just a nappy today.
AFM - hello we have a roller (finally) i even got the second one on camera, just. Coops thinks hes a little clever, hes starting to hold his own bottle, and sometimes he can do it but majority of the time he just tries but keeps knocking it out of the way and then he thinks its a big game, its rather cute but now feed times are taking twice as long. pretty sure Cooper is sleeping through the night now, only he'll fall asleep at 6.30 and wake up at 6.30 or he'll fall asleep at 10 and wake up at 6.30, its weird but im definately not complaining. we bought a jolly jumper yesterday and coops thinks its the best things since sliced bread, he will play in it for hours if i let him. the only yhing is we have no doorways down stairs so its hanging in the middle of our bedroom doorway upstairs but i lay on the bed and watch him so its not to bad. well things are looking up for me. ever since i was like 12 i have always wanted to do childcare and a close friend of mine works at the child care centre on the RAAF base that DF works at, she messaged me this morning and told me that if i was studying Dianne (her boss) would give me some casual work :D so im about to ring the community college around the corner and enrol to do my cert 3 in childrens services :dance: i finally have something to look forward to and this will mean i can earn a little bit of money so i dont feel like im bludging of DF all the time and i will finish work anywhere between 12 and 5.30 so i wont miss out on bathing, feeding and cuddling Cooper to sleep :) and also mum will be here to look after coops when i need her to so im saving money by not putting him in day care :)
raffy sounds great that you have found the childcare thing. Hope you get into it and do well at it :) AWESOME of Coops to roll too :) very cute! Is he just going belly to back? or can he do both ways? Vinny only does belly to back. The other way he can get from his back to his side but usually flops down again and won't go right over.
whats the age limit on a jolly jumper? is it just when they can hold their head up ? I wanna get V one because he LOVES kicking his legs about. so I imagine he'd have a ball in one!
afm he is down for a nap so I'm going to get off here and go out and pull some dead weeds out (the lawn guy poisoned and chopped them off but the bottoms are still sticking out everywhere its annoying me.)
picked some gorgeous pink roses from my garden before. :)
