Hi girls, have been lurking for a little while and thought i'd better introduce myself!
im Skye and my little girl Isabelle was born on the 12th of september, 4 weeks early. ive also got a 3 yr old that im currently trying to TT!
i've been reading ur posts to see what ur bubs are up to milestone wise and it seems Izzy is a bit behind, we were told that even though she was only just premature that she could be a bit delayed with things. Its hard because she was born such a good weight(even bigger than some full termers in my bellybuds group!) to remember that she was early. We'll get there though!
hope ur all having a good day, will chat soon

Welcome Skybie and congrats on the birth of Isabelle! Make yourself at home!
A quick question ladies, have any of you decided what contraception you are wanting to use/ using already? I know it's different for bfeeding than formula feeding but am getting really confused about which one I should go for. I had a little bit of stress and difficulty conceiving Frazer after a 6 year stint on Implanon which lead to numerous cysts and a misdiagnosis of PCOS so am wanting to steer clear of that. APART from that I LOVED Implanon. Was perfect for me, no periods ever, and I didn't get the mood swings etc that some others experience
Am maybe leaning towards Mirena IUD?? or Copper T? Anyone had any experiences with these. I would love some feedback or opinions please. Am not good at remembering things so the pill would be last on my list.
pooley- u dnt get ur period on the needle either, dont know if thats something u want to try.
ATM im not on anything, considering the mini pill but will have to find out some more info on it to see if its really worth it.
Also i want to be pregnant again when Isabelles about 12-18mnths and i know its gonna take a hell of alot of convincing to get my DF to agree to one so soon after Izzy so might stay off all contraceptives and let nature do its thing.
its not that he doesnt want another one, just not when izzy is still little, me on the other hand, i want to be done having babies so i dont have to worry about when's a good time again and i want to get back into work to help DF out, no point going back to work then stoppingto have another baby i think!
Skybie I'm also TT my toddler. I think she's got it! She's been using the potty for over a week now with no accidents. Now we just have to progress to the toilet! Congrats on the arrival of Isabelle!
Pooley haven't decided on contraception yet and to be honest it isn't needed at the moment (poor DH!). I'm still bf so pretty sure I'm fairly safe anyway! What is lemon detox diet? Please don't tell me you have to chomp on lemons eeewwww!
I think we are over the growth spurt as Ethan has gone back to his happy self woo hoo! Anyway its a lovely day so we're heading to the park. Have a great weekend all and sending big sleepy vibes to all the bubs xoxo
Skybie- Never considered Depro is it? Maybe I should look into that one too. Jeez, does my bloody head in, too many choices.
Sangie- Ever since I got this munchkin outta me I've been randy as!!
No way considering more children until Frazer is at least 3 so am looking for something long term. I got AF 4 weeks post pardum since I wasn't breast feeding, I'm guessing that's why it returned so soon. After using Fertility friend to concieve, I can read my body much better and am pretty sure I'm ovulating/ have ovulated already!! This is officially the 3rd time I've ovulated in about 6 years!! Crazy stuff.
Lemon Detox is the one from the ads. It's a Lemon and Palm tree syrup drink that replaces all food for 10 days. Day 7, 3.6 kgs and counting...
Pooley - very jealous that your on the lemon detox.....i find it strange though that people can live on lemon juice alone! No reason you lose weight! I have been having one glass of hot lemon & water to help speed up the metabolism, but i think it has gone through my milk cause V is really red in the fanny and bum and i think it might be the acidity. Did it take you a long time to concieve F?
Sangie - I am the same as you - not needing contraception! I just wanted to heal first though. I had labial grazes and a small tear and i just want that to be good as gold before i get back on the 'ol horse. If i have a few ****tails in Tonga, he may just get lucky!
Skybie - welcome to the group - congrats on the birth of little Isabelle. Did you labour early or was she bought into the world early for medical reasons?
AFU - not much to report. Violet will not go in the pram which is making it hard to exercise. I can't listen to her scream for that long so have given up. We thought it was the brace making her uncomfortable but apparently not. I hope she learns to like it though....i didn't pay all that money for nothing! She hates the car as well. I have come to learn that i do not have a placid baby at all. She is mega clingy, hates the sling, i feel like i am trapped in the house.
We are off on our holiday in 2 weeks - starting to freak out about what to take.
Anyway...thats about it - hope everyone is doing ok....taurean how are you honey? How is Izzys weight gain going?
i had a second degree tear and jumped back on the horse 4 weeks after Iz was born hehehe, couldnt help myself, was suprised that nothing hurt at all, was expecting it to.
My water broke at 35 weeks, spent a week in hospital and she decided she wanted to come a week later, the doctors wanted her to stay in a bit long so she wasnt classed as premature but she didnt want to wait...neither did i to be honest!but we were really lucky and she was born absolutely perfect, no troubles breathing or with her attatchment at all.
Question..bit of an odd one too, Isabelle is fully breastfed and over the past few days her poo's been a little green, compaired to bright orange. I rememeber the health nurse saying when she was newborn that green poo means too much foremilk and not enough hindmilk, but i dont know if its because she's getting to much foremilk or if its because she's getting older. what colour are ur babies poo's?
Skybie - yeah, Isobel sounds a bit strange to us too as Izzy has really stuck! I love both names so much though
Sanchez - Izzy doesn't scream, she's just unsettle during the day. Well she has been for the past couple of weeks now. She has little cries during a feed sometimes and often cries not long after being put down. I got her down for an hour sleep this morning and I had to rock the bassinet 6 times in an hour to resettle her as she was crying in her sleep. I really think it is silent reflux so I can't wait to see if the medication works.
Kelly - thanks hon. I do love knowing I can vent to you girls at any time of the day. I love the support in our group. Thankfully I have lots of support around me in Perth too. My mothers group is a godsend too - the girls are lovely and it so nice to know we are all going through the same things. As for your supply, I strongly suggest going on Motillium. It's worked wonders for me. I have Motillium (double the dose the gp prescribed) and Fenugreek (herbal remedy) three times a day and I let Izzy feed as much as she wants to. I also try to express once a day too just so I have a top up (or a full feed) ready in a bottle but it also gets my boobs thinking Izzy has had another feed and more milk is produced. I expressed 170ml total the other morning and my LC said that was great. I have expressed up to 200ml though.
Sangie - wind is a right nuisance, hey! Izzy has that issue too. She farts A LOT (and my god they smell!) and burps after her feeds but she often has wind pain. It drives me mad. I give her Infacol with each feed now and it does seem to help. Izzy is only pooping roughly every 4 days so I think that causes her a bit of pain too, especially as she has a formula feed each day. Poor little things!
Kosi - thanks for the sleep and settling info. We had a similar chat at our mothers group the other week. Some of it was really interesting. I'm loving my mothers group and wouldn't miss it for the world. The girls are lovely and we have a good gasbag every time. Izzy is always so settled there too, not sure why!
AFU - we've had a reall y good day although poor Izzy has suffered a bit with the heat over here. DH got her to sleep for me this morning so I could have a nap and I managed to get her down for an hour again this morning and an hour and a half this afternoon! I'm so pleased! I also took the bassinet off our pram and put Izzy in the normal part of the pram today and she slept! She looks so tiny in it and the straps are a bit overwhelming but hey, it seems to work for her so I think we'll be selling the bassinet. At least we got 8 weeks use out of it.
Time for bed. Missy is sound asleep so that means it's bedtime for me too. Night girls!
Thanks Taurean - i went to the Dr yesterday and got the domperidone / motillium - so hoping it kicks in soon! 170ml is awesome! I am currently getting about 60ml No wonder Tadhg is hungry.
Kosi - we're about the same, just on 5kg and in between 0000 and 000 - i'm trying to get wear out of as many clothes as i can! Have just decided to buy some more newborn nappies though, even though they are getting on the small side, as they are cheaper - so i'll see how much longer we can use them - and save the rest for next bub!
Nicola - i hope your boys are coming right.. poor wee things - and poor you getting run ragged. I'm really trying to enjoy just having 1 at home - it will never be the same again ;-) We'll se ehow we go on the formula - i've decided to try and work hard on BF so we dont need formula, and see how we go.
Sanchez - we have times like that with Tadhg, where he wont sleep - and often i find its due to trapped wind keeping him awake. Could be worth a long winding session to see if it helps V? Also, if you are finding her windy or unsettled, i'd definitely think about milk intolerance - were either you or DH intolerant as kids. If you stop eating milk products and there is an improvement - you'd soon know
Sangie - these bubs and their wind! I hope they work out how to bring it up themselves sooner rather than later!
We're having a tricky day, every time i put T down to sleep he lies there awake or does little cries/groans trying to bring up wind. For some reason its not coming up when we burp him after a feed, or even when we trudge upstairs to rub his back (get a nice big burp and think - ahh!...) about 3 times before he will go to sleep - and he gets cranky because he is tired. Just went to sleep almost 40 mins after going down - phew. Ah well, he has had a couple of 45 min sleeps so he'll be ok.
Day 4 and still sleeping through from 8pm - yay.
Janine - how are you going? You've been quiet, hope the exercise plan is coming together How are you finding time?
