Ah sooner or later there was bound to be talk about poop!
Ethan's is orange/mustardy colour and he is bf but occassionally gets a formula top up at night. Is she having any formula cos that would make her poop a little green. If not then I have no idea?

Sanchez bugger about Violet hating the pram. I hope she learns to like it. Maybe try ease her into it by wheeling her around the house for a few minutes at a time? Or hang a pretty toy for her to look at? Wish i was going on holiday.

Pooley wow on your weight loss, I'm jealous! Bugger that AF arrived so soon. I'm hoping mine stays away for a long time yet. I didn't get AF for 8 months after DD was born so fingers crossed that happens again. I'm in no hurry to get the evil witch back!

Ethan has slept so much today. He only woke to feed and then straight back to sleep. It's so unlike him, I hope it doesn't mean he will be up all night now

Pooley, I am not sure what to do about contraception either. Probably won't have another, but never say never lol. The midwife gave me a script for 100 condoms, but at the current rate of use they are going to last the next 4 years lmao!

Skybie, orangey coloured poo here. I would love to TT my DS, but he doesn't seem to want to. I am seriously over toddler poo nappies.

Sangie, hope E slept well at night for you. How is your DD going with E? Is she still happy with him? My DS was going really well but this week we have reverted back to being silly/tantrums when we pay too much attention to Amelia, especially if DH picks her up. Oh well, this too shall pass...

Sanchez, hope V settles down for you soon. I am jealous of your trip away, we never go anywhere.

Taurean, Janine, Kosi and everyone else, hope everything is going o.k and you are just too busy being mum to post

Must be poo day soon, A keeps waking up and crying for a few seconds before going back to sleep. That usually happens when she has been brewing up a stinker for a few days lol.
We had a few really clingy days when I couldn't put her down, but today she has managed to sleep on the couch a few times without waking as soon as I put her there. My back is really sore from lugging her around all day.

    Hi Lovelies

Well we've had a few full on couple of weeks. I posted in the General Discussion when I was at my lowest and poured my heart out so feel free to have a read, I won't repeat it all here. I'm feeling a lot better for opening up to the BB girls though as I realised what I'm going through is quite normal and none of it is 'my fault'. It's a pretty sad read, I think PND was a knocking on my door that morning. We have a doctors appt this week so will chat to the gp about it and see if I should go on some meds. I have suffered from depression in the past and was on medication for a year so I'm not scared to go back on the meds as I know they have helped in the past. They just keep me level and lately there have been days where I really need that.

On a positive note, our breastfeeding is going well! Yerhar! I'm a bit worried that Izzy isn't getting enough milk but she's filling out and has gone a kilo over her birth weight (finally!) so she must be ok. She's still in 0000 clothes though (000 in Wondersuits) and I had to buy her some summery 0000 clothes as she had none! I never expected her to stay so little for this long! I'm not expressing that much any more, only if I want a top up of EBM on hand or if I'm engorged. I'm still giving her a top up of formula a day though, usually in the early evening when my supply is low. It's working for us so I'll continue with it for now.

Sanchez - have a read of my other post hon. Our little girls sound very similar I feel your pain. It can be very isolating and extremely tiring at times. But hey, Tonga - you lucky bugger!! I'm super jealous! Have always wanted to go there. I'm too scared to holiday with Izzy yet. Might try a weekend away closer to home first.

Gotta run, back for personals soon. Izzy is ready for a feed and I mean NOW! lol

Taurean - honey i could have written that post myself. You are right we seem to have similar babies! I have been trying to get her to sleep since 2pm and it is now 8pm......it shouldn't be like this.
I have stopped going out - makes things easier....am about to do my first online grocery shop! I need to buy new clothes so will wait till late night shopping, hopefully she will go down for the night and i can race to the shopI! I hope you are feeling better - and none of us are bad mothers, we just are doing the best we can with fussy bubs.
It is good to hear you are positive about meds if they are needed - there is such a stigma with PND and it is so easily treated.

Anyway - i am completely worn out - so am off to bed.....at least she is not too bad overnight - only wakes twice. She wakes up and looks at me and DH, knows we are there and goes back to sleep!

She has gone up to Infant nappies......we were having major blowouts! So sad....not a newborn anymore.
Am excited i finally bought a Bebe Sleeping Bag for her to sleep in - love them....hope she likes it!

Sanchez - have you considered that V may have reflux??? It's looking like that is Izzy's problem - silent reflux. I was worried my supply wasn't good again so phoned my LC to discuss things with her this morning and she assured me all was good but couldn't understand why Izzy is so unsettled. She asked me a few things about Izzy and I answered 'yes' to all of the questions so she is pretty sure Izzy has silent reflux. I will be so pleased if that is the reason for her being so unsettled. I know she's in pain a lot of the time so it would be great to have something to help her. I'll be discussing it with the gp as well on Thursday. Boy our doctors appt is going to be full on - so many things to sort out!

Art - PMSL about the condoms! That stash would last us a bloody long time too! We are yet to get 'back on the horse' and I'm in no hurry either. DH has been great about it thankfully. I'm just too tired and not really in the mood either. I've got the mini pill but am yet to start taking it. If the opportunity knocks, we have condoms ready to go. I can't imagine using them any time soon though. Gosh, how sad!

Sangie - did Ethan's good run of sleep continue?

Skybie - another Izzy! Welcome!! I'm sure you'll love our group My Izzy has slightly different poos as she has a bottle of formula each day. Izzy's were orange/mustard when she was exclusively breastfed but now they are more like a thick putty (foul!) and are sometimes mustard in colour but more often greenish/grey due to the formula. If your Izzy is breastfed only, she should really be doing mainly orange/mustard poos. It could be possible she is getting too much foremilk. If she has a quick feed on one side then offer that breast first again next. My health care nurse told me 10mins or less is too quick on one side for my Izzy. She normally does 20 minutes per breast. Check with your health care nurse.

Pooley - I did the lemon detox diet a few years ago. I didn't lose much weight at all but I did feel great! How did you go in the end?

Nicola - Indigo is doing really well! Izzy does a massive sleep at the beginning of the night - between and 8 hours - but she normally goes down at 6 or 7pm so I miss out on a bit of the precious sleep time. Wish I could get her to start that sleep later but there is no keeping her up and I've tried a dream feed around 10ish a couple of times and it just stuffed things up. She still woke at 2am each time

Hi Kelly, Kosi, BoB and PB! What's news with your rugrats?

Us - Izzy has had a really good day today. The past two nights were a bit unsettled after her big 'first' sleep (from 7pm - 2) so that was tiring. I didn't really get any more sleep after the 2am feed both nights. Managed to get little Miss down for a 3 hour nap yesterday though and DH got her down at 6am this morning so I got to catch up on some sleep. This morning was bliss as DH got up to her around 5.30 and I went back to sleep (finally!) then I woke at 7.30 to...wait for it...silence. It was so weird! I woke up on my own for a change and felt great! Izzy was sleeping, DH had snuck off to work and I was feeling refreshed for a change. I got to wash, dry AND straighten my hair. What a luxury!

Although it's been a good day, Izzy still hasn't slept much so it's any wonder she bombs out at 7pm. I read up on silent reflux after chatting with my LC this morning and Izzy has so many of the symptoms. It was all so obvious watching her today. I hope some meds will sort her out, the poor little thing. I've booked her into a chiro on Tuesday too and they are going to see if they can fix her reflux/colic - whatever it is she has!

Time for me to get ready for bed. I'm hoping Izzy will do a long stretch again so I can get a good sleep before the first feed. I'm recording my two fave shows (Packed to the Rafters and Private Practice) so I'm quite looking forward to the first feed so I can watch one of them.

    Night girls!

Hi girls, i ment to come back to this sooner, just been busy.
The mystery of the green poop was solved, DF gave her a bottle of formula while i was out shopping because she wouldnt stop crying and he didnt know what else to do, i thought it was odd she didnt want a feed for a while after i got home!! so its slowly returning to the bright orange!!

Taurean. im so used to calling her Izzy that Isabelle almost sounds strange to say!!!
i've tried the dream feed a few times aswell but she always ends up being wide awake for a few ages after it, so i stopped!

Sanchez, i hope bubs is being a little bit less challenging for you and ur getting to go out, some days i dont want to leave the house either but with 2 its a bit hard because DD1 has things she likes to go to.

Artichem, they give scripts for condoms?!

Hi to everyone else, hope ur all not completely exhausted!

AFU Izzy has had some very restless days lately and i feel like she's constantly on my boob, i love breastfeeding but im strugglinga bit mentally with the constant need to be on me, she wont take a dummy so im acting as a bottle and a dummy ATM, its very tiring, my house looks like a bombs hit it because i just cant seem to get anything done. i put her in the close carrier and get a few bits done but as soon as i take her out she starts screaming again.
DD1 is going really well with her TT, she's at kindy today for the first time in knickers so will be interesting to see if she has any accidents there.

    Hiya,
Pooley, Sky and any other of you crazy cats back in the sack - good on you! I thought i'd be back to normal sooner but with an epi which took a long time to heal we waited quite a while. I have to say it was a lot less comfortable than i expected, i guess its all a bit tender inside still - hopefully wont take long to feel normal again - that is if we can pick the right moment, last time we tried T woke up and started crying - too hard!
Sanchez - god speed to you, V hating the pram and car must be difficult.

Taurean - will be interesting to hear about the silent reflux diagnosis - i understand that is really difficult to deal with Hope you can work on some solutions asap! It can get quite draining being home alone all the time. I hope you have a good circle of friends who can pop by, and we're always here online to listen. Also, great work on the feeding! What would be your advice to get supply up quickly - or at all! Isn't it funny how Izzy still woke at the same time regardless of the dreamfeed. My health nurse recommended we don't bother trying to do a night feed with Tadhg, because it interupts their sleep cycles and can make it harder to get back into a deep sleep - and they are so hard to wake up that you never get a good feed in anyway, or end up with wind later in the night from not burping etc. We tried it last night - he fed at 6:30, went down at 8pm, and woke at 5:30! I got straight up to feed as i was worried he'd be starving after that long, but if he does it a few nights in a row i'll be working on getting him to 6am. Or.. it may just be a fluke! Will see what happens tonight.

The health nurse also said all Tadhg's "symptoms" seem to point to milk intolerance, which i had actually considered but didn't realise he was so clearly intolerant. This includes spilling curdled milk a long time after a feed, slightly rough skin on his face and eyebrows, trouble digesting / gurgling tummy, crying in his sleep from wind, lots of gas!, lots of liquidy poo (at least every feed in our case). So i'm changing his formula to S26 which is apparently the best for milk intolerance, and cutting dairy from my diet (not excessive just no milk, cheese, yogurt etc). Looking forward to the results!

She also said a 10 week old baby should take 3-8 minutes to drain a breast, so leaving him there for 20 each side - no wonder he falls asleep and comes off really hungry and upset! I was feeling drained, he was tired, and all for not enough milk. I really don't know where my logic was - that i have less milk therefore should feed him longer!? Even in the 24 hours i've cut back to 10 minutes a side I feel much better about feeding, and he is happier!
So all in all it was a great health nurse visit!

Hope you other girls are coping with the demands of feeding so often and clingy babes - must be a stage they go through huh. Lucky they are so cute!

ps. almost forgot to add - T is now 4.7kg, yay! - but still in newborn nappies at 10 weeks old, infant diapers are coming soon...
