awww cherished your family rain dance sounds just divine!! that is such a forever memory IYKWIM :loveshower:
yeah we had an awesome time at the xmas party...until the storm hit  so we all ran to the pub that was open across the road bahahahaha! coopers pale ale all 'round lol. ah well, the kids loved it and loved having pressies to open! Marta slept in the close carrier the entire time so missed all the action!
and the weather is just getting worse here :( they had snow up in the mountains. today we had to wear jackets, scarves and beanies arghhhh! meant to be 9 degrees tonight, so had to really pile on the clothes on Marta for sleep. wishing i hadnt taken off the flanelette sheets now.
poor marta is still out of sorts today. she just seems so frustrated. i do think it is the rolling thing, so am  that she figures it out soon enough...
off to the osteo tomorrow afternoon so will talk to her about it then and see if there is any stiffness or whatnot going on.
-
the weather really is insane isn't it! It's felt like the seasons have been changing for a few years now so I'm not really surprised. How funny you ended up in the pub! and yes the rain dance is a memory forever :D
Hope Marta is better after her osteo visit. DS still isn't rolling from back to front but every now and again will flip himself onto his side which is cute.
Last night was a killer sleep wise :( DS woke to feed every 2 hours so that was only about 1.5 hrs sleep at a time and this morning I am trashed. Even more so because I am pretty sure I have mastitis :crying: my left boob has been sore for a couple of days and yesterday late afternoon I started to feel flu like symptoms and all day was hot and then cold. After doing a quick google it sounds like that is what it is. There is a spot which is a bit warmer on the boob too so I'm off to the GP today. My herbal medicine man had already given me herbs for it incase I got it so that I could get on top of it asap but they didn't do anything so far.
ds is crying gotta go
-
can you try to express from that boob? give the ABA a call too! they were awesome for me when i had the mastitis (i'm not a member but you can call anyway!). if you do go on the ABs, make sure to have a probiotic!!!!!! i got really bad nipple thrush (and then Marta got mouth thrush of course) from it and it is a real PITA to get rid of...
it's a shocker mastitis, and may also be why DS was having a hard night, apparently it can make the milk taste funny. i'd offer that sore boob first as well for each feed, try to get rid of the block...
-
Thanks Cass. I did call t he ABA and the lady I spoke to was lovely! I have ended up taking he herbs last night and up until lunch time today and then I've started the antibiotics. I have probiotic in the fridge so I will get into that too. I am already feeling better after having a big sleep this afternoon and dh has looked after ds all day :)

Hi ladies!
another short post ...
I just wanted to let you all know that DD is now harness free!! :cheer: I am just so relieved!
HPL - thanks for thinking of us!
Hi Annabelle!
Hi Cassius!
Cherished - bummer about the mastitis. Have you tried a potato poulitice? It helped me when I had a blocked milk duct.
-
hi girls!
Milly! that is awesome news :leap: :leap: YAY!!! i bet that is must be amazing to be able to cuddle, bathe and dress that bubba with total freedom!
how do you do a potato poultice?
Cherished: how's the boob? lol! not many times you can say that huh lol?!
HPL: are you getting ready for chrissy??! i was thinking of you yesterday while i was massacring my wrapping...i needed your skills...
AFM: well i am shagged today. we had a xmas party that was thrown by DD1s kindy teacher who has just left for another job (devastated!). but the cool thing is that her husband is caretaking one of the uni's properties for visiting professors, so they have the most AMAZING house. it is on the yarra river in this exclusive suburb (the renos alone cost $5million :o). ANYWAY, so the yard was 2 acres so all the kids just went wild, the christmas decorations included candy cane path lights and a carousel!! so awesome! needless to say that we didnt get home to 9.30pm, and then Marta woke at 11pm and was sick :( she has a cold! noooooo! poor wee poppet. so we have been up pretty much all night, and then when i did finally have a bit of a kip at 6.30 a bloody bird fell down the chimney in our room!!!!! so i had to get up with a torch and pull apart my frikkin' chimney to get the poor thing out lol.
-
Hi Ladies,
Sorry I've been MIA bub just hasn't been herself for about a week now, we thought it was just a growth spurt but she waking ever 3-4hrs and has never done that even as a new born. We've well I've been very stressed due to work stuffing me around, just because I'm on mat leave shouldn't mean I get dumped with all the crap when I go back. Anyway turns out my milk was starting to dry up so my poor Audrey was waking n crying coz she was hungry!!! I hate myself for allowing my work to effect my daughter!! So I've decided I'm leaving and going somewhere where I will be respected and not pushed to the side becuase I chose to have children!!!!!
Mily: soooooo happy that the harness is off that's a wonderful Xmas present I think!!!
Cherished/cass: can't remember who did the painting feet/hand thing but awesome I'm doing that as a suprise present for DP!! It's a great idea!!!!
Cass: PMSL as the bird flying into the chimne!!
Lack of sleep, stress of work, first aid course tomorrow, 2x Christmas' both at mine!! Aaaarrrrrgggggghhhhhhh why why why - silly girl!!!
DP looking after bub alll day tomorrow while I do 1st aid- have been expressing frantically so he has enough!! 5 more presents to wrap, my theme Pink tree with silver and red wrapping paper green ribbon on red paper red ribbon on silver lol!! It's okay I know I have OCD :-)
hi to everyone else!! Hope we can all get some decent sleep soon!!!
-
bloody hell where is my post again from this morning :wall: I am such a sad case!!!!!!! anyhow take 2...
Cass, OMG that party sounds fantastic! like a fairytale or something :leap: how much fun!!! another OMG to the bird :o how random! and little Marta :( I do hope she is better for santa in a few days! To do a potato polutic you just grate potato and put it on the area, you can secure it by putting it inside a chix cloth and then putting gladwrap over it and taping it down or just a tea towel, depends on how much you'll need to be moving and whatever you have. You can make them with a range of things for different issues. I used to do a caster oil one on my tummy lots when I was having issues kwim.
HPL we did the finger/foot painting, I still love them. I actually need to spray over the top with the canvas sealer stuff and then wrap them, at least that will put a few more prezzies under the tree as there are only 2 at the moment.
milly that is fantastic about the harness! oh enjoy the baths my friend. I ended up taking the antibiotics as even though the dr said I'd caught it early I still think it was a bit far gone for the natural remedies. Normally I'd be all for it. I started taking the herbs my chinese herbal medicine man gave me. I took them orally and make a paste out of them to put on my boob too. I was geared up to do a cabbage poultice but ended up taking the antibiotics instead. Now that I know what mastitis feels like I will get right on top of it if I get it again.
Well I have had a great day full of woohoos! 1st I am back in the 76's and my engagement ring fits again without looking like it's squashed on my finger! Then yesterday while I was out getting my antibiotics I bought a top which I love and today I tried on my old shorts and they fit again. So with the antibiotics totally kicked in and no more pain I did my hair, painted my nails, put on my rings, new top and shorts and felt like a million $$$$$ YAY :cheer: then we had parent s group whichmust have totally wiped out ds cause today he's slept a total of 5.5 hours! not sure how he'll sleep tonight now but luckily dh will be home :)
-
:hooray: Great night! (for us anyway) DS went to sleep at 7:30 last night and slept for 3.25hrs and then slept for 3.5hrs and then slept for 2.25 hours. So happy and can't believe it considering he slept for 5.5 hours all up throughout the day yesterday when he would normally only sleep for 3 or 3.5 hours. Hasn't stopped me from being vague though... dh's alarm went fo this morning and I said why do you have that on, you're not on day shift and he said I can guarantee you I am, I've lost the plot LOL
Apparently it's going to be raining for the next 4 days so I should have done the washing yesterday! not sure what I'll do today but wouldn't mind visiting someone to get out of the hosue :)
Didi I mention that I feel like I'm getting AF back? on and off for the last couple of weeks I"ve had that dull ache going on. Does anyone else feel like that? a girl at our parents grou got hers back yesterday and with her other son got it back at 4 months too. I hope I do get it back, then my cycle can sort itself out before we ttc again.
-
Hi all,
I am just gatecrashing to ask a question. Did someone in here do calmbirthing/hypnobirthing?? cherished/cass...maybe?? Just looking down that avenue for my next one after labouring then an emergency c/s i feel like i should prepare so i can confidently try for a VBAC. Anyway any info would be great if i am remembering right & it was someone in this thread!!
Cherished - how are you hun, love the new avvy!!
Hope all you mummies & bubs are doing well xx
mmm...am thinking cass you were homebirth not calmbirth, maybe i am loosing my mind!! :)
-
:hello: Hi sparkles! I did hypnobirthing and had a wonderful birth, heres my story if you're interested although I don't think I mentioned the hypnobirthing part. https://www.bellybelly.com.au/forums...d.php?t=144388 the book I read was Hypnobirthing The Mongan Method by Marie F. Mongan I practiced a few of the different techniques in there mainly one called the rainbow relaxation which we recorded our own version of. There are several different visulisation but you can just choose the ones that fit with you best :) As for the actual birth I tried to do the breathing and for the most part I think I did it. The hypnobirthing is really just a great tool throughout your pregnancy to keep you relaxed and focused of a positive experience rather than allowing negative stories or past experiences take over kwim and it teaches you to 'breath' down your baby rather than push. I didn't do any active 'pushing at all' I felt that 'pushing' sensation but I breathed with it rather than actively pushing. dh was my support person and he was great and reminded me to get back on track with the breathing during and waves (contractions) and in between them. That reminds me, it also teaches you to reframe your thinking and your language to positive things rather than negative. For example most people have a negative feeling towards the word contraction so we use waves instead. We use sensation rather than pain and breath rather than push kwim. Good luck with it, I can't wait to ttc number 2! I think I'm getting AF back soon as it's felt like it for a couple of weeks now. If you have any more questions just ask.
-
hi sparkles! i did calmbirth as well as a homebirth lol!
the calmbirth was amazing for the labour; very simple to learn and easy to apply and accomodate to changing birth scenarios (ie from homebirth to c/s etc)...and tbh i still use it even now for when i am stressed!
hth! :)
-
Hi ladies!
cassius - to do a potato poultice you grate a potato, and pt it in a cloth (old hanky is great) and hold it over the site - bandage on over nite is good. good for infections and sprains too.
sparkles - I did a calmbirth corse - was really helpful. I didn't think I'd be able to have a natural birth, but I did :D I still pushed - I went to sleep during transition and woke up pushing. Calmbirth focuses on your breathing, relaxation, and use of language too. And DH was a fab support person. If you really want a natural VBAC then I would suggest you get a doula.
HPL - did it feel any different for you that your milk was drying up, or just that DD was crying?
cherished - like the sounds of your new look ;)
AFM - well, DD still sleeping thru most nights except if we've had a big day then she wakes for an extra feed, but she WILL NOT sleep during the day. Yesterday she was awake for 5 1/2 hours and then took another half hour to settle, and then was awake for another long spell in the afternoon. this "anti-sleep" is not fun!
She still doesn't like the bath yet, but I guess that will take a while....
enjoy christmas everyone!!!!
-
Merry Christmas Mummy buddies
SO hope you all enjoy the 1st christmas with your new babies. It's really pretty special isn't it :p We are not doing anything really just having my parents over for an early evening meal. So the rest of the day will be just the 3 of us. We didn't even buy DS anything.... Not that he will have a clue lol but I am looking forward to a nice relaxing day doing not much but watching true blood  yep the addiction can't go for one day without a hit! I've already missed 2 days so I'm having withdrawals. We are up to season 3 which DH downloaded so I'm in 2 minds about how fast we get through it as once we have finished then there isn't anymore kwim.
Milly she'll soon be loving the baths and you will too. It's one of my fav parts of the day cause DS loves it so much and his little tongue tastes the water SO CUTE! we especially love doing the water over his head thing and it's just really nice for him to be clean. Most people I know massage their baby after the bath but I do it 1st. You could try that and then she'll be more relaxed by the time she gets in the bath :)
-
Hello Lovely Ladies!
I'll join in the Christmas cheer: Merry Christmas to you all, I hope that it is a lovely day and that our new babies get lots of special cuddles and love to celebrate their first ever christmas!
Milly: it took Marta a little while to enjoy her baths too...i wouldnt stress too much, if she starts to crack it just pop her out and try another day. they get there in the end and she'll be splashing up a storm with the best of them!
AFM: all good here. we have the pressies in place, i cant wait for Leila to see it all (this is the first time she has really got into the build-up etc for christmas so it's pretty exciting for us! Marta has a few wooden rings, an amber necklace and a beautiful framed photo to put on our mantleplace along with other family pics...
-
MERRY CHRISTMAS!! I hope you all have a wonderful, relaxing day with your families... Hugs and Kisses to all the new additionals and their brothers and sisters!! I love my little family!!
Just quickly - milk is returning thank goodness, still grizzly bubba sometimes but I'm gonna keep at it until we're back to normal!! Might already have a new job, New Years Resolution - stress less!!
-
HPL: that is great news on all fronts babe! yay for milk and big yay for potential new job!
AFM: we had a lovely day yesterday. hung out at home and ate and ate and ate lol!
today is a bit sad for me though as it marks the last time that i saw my Oma alive...so have been a bit emotional about it all. thank God i have my Opa here with me for lots of cuddles...
-
Thanks Cass, we're thrilled with all the good new ATM!!! Sorry about your Oma :-( my Nanna passed on the 22nd of Dec '97 so Xmas has been a little sad since then.... She was the last grandparent too :-( .... On a happier note Audrey has Opa's and Oma's too, no one at my work new what they were lol - which I find odd, DP family is Dutch, what's your background?
DP family Xmas was great yesterday lots of vegitarian foods very very yummy!! Bubs was soooooo good and got very spolit too!!! Now to clean the house for my family Xmas tomorrow lol!! And we're in Brisbane so it's wwwwweeeeeettttttt!!!! Hope everyone had a lovely time!!!
-
HPL: we are Dutch background as well! (and my mum's name is Audrey...so the spooky similarities hahahaha!). have a lovely time in brissy. used to be my old stomping ground. ATM my mum is stranded in cairns as she was meant to be driving back to townsville tomorrow...aint gunna happen me thinks lol.
-
Hi girls :baby: how have you all recovered from christmas? We had a quiet day and really enjoyed it. DS was cute opening his whole 3 pressies (from other people) and dh and I managed to have a spa together while DS was sleeping so that was nice. Last night was one of our best nights I think and I got a 5 hour sleep yes you read correctly and I'm so happy about it! DS had a 2 hour sleep though from 4:30-6:30 so I didn't think he'd sleep that well during the night but to our amazement he had a shower with dh, then a feed and was asleep at 8:45pm then woke up 5 hours later! after that he woke up after only 1.5hrs sleep and I again thought I'd be in for a rough stretch but he fed and went back to sleep for another 2.5 hours YAY so things are looking up. Today I'm trying to stretch out his feeds to every 3 hours and so far that's worked great, with only 1 feed lol will see how the rest of the day pans out.
Cas love the new avy! You've done a fantastic job! Is Marta wearing her amber necklace yet? dh doesn't like ds wearing his to sleep  I think it's fine though, I think I'll win the argument when he's actually teething though.
HPL where do you live? I'm on the Sunny Coast and it was weeeeetttttt here too lol and our christmas was also vegetarian cause dh and I are vego :)
-
Hi girls,
Cherished: those are some good hours that bub is doing! Once they start being able to, it's only up from there! I always love it when they do it as it gives hope that you are doing the right thing by your bub...
AFM: we had a lovely xmas. Marta scored some bunnykins plates and lovely wooden rattles.
My Opa is visiting and I am loving it!
Bbl...I am using my iPod and it is slow going lol!
-
Hello hello ladies!!!
Cherished- awesome sleep pattern!! Woohoo can only get better from here!! I live on the bayside, Manly we're about 5mins from the water, no water views though, couldn't afford that ATM lol - but lovely none the less. We finally saw blue sky today yay!!!!! Xmas vego lunch was sooooooo good, my fam are country farmers so it was always meat and 3 vegs for me lol that was until I met DP - he's not vego but his mum is... Great food, plus the whole dutch background makes for interesting food :-D
Cass- loving Opa being with you? We had DPs sister spend the day with us today it was lovely
what's everyone doing for New Years??? We're heading up to my brothers tomorrow to spend a few days with them.... Really looking forward to it. I feel uneasy typing this but I think I won the worst mother of the year award today :-'( .... I was laying next to bubs reading her a book when it slipped out of my hands and hit her on the head, she screamed for such a long time I felt and still feel horrible!!!!! I think she'll have a bump and a bruise, it just broke me.... I'm crying now as I type :-)... I gotta go happy new years everyone xxoo
-
oh HPL  if it means anything, poor Marta has had a few knocks...especially with being a little sister...the other day Leila tried to pick her up off the floor, i heard a clunk and came running to find Leila looking guilty and Marta screaming. urgh, i also felt terrible as i should of been watching more closely. try not to feel too bad though, accidents happen and i am sure she loved all her loving mama cuddles when she was sad xx
AFM: well i slightly cracked it today with DH as i have not had one moment without the kids since marta was born. oh, once, when i went swimming for 25 minutes . so i told him today that i am unimpressed and that now he needs to put on his big boy undies and take the girls by himself while i go out once a week for an hour or two. he seemed to support it but watch this space: i was on fire today and told him actions speak louder than words :o man i was blunt...wonder if i am getting AF...certainly emotional enough for it lol!
-
power to you Cas! I was wondering about CM after birth and if you still go through the cycle as in SCM CCM WCM EWCM even without ovulation and then AF? Cause I just had the biggest blob of EWCM again and am so wondering if I'm ovulating! I was almost going to start a thread or check out what your CM does after birth before you get AF back. Have you got some knowledge on this?
HPL I'm sure you didn't cause any damage  I bumped ds's head on his swing today and he cried, thankfully not for too long!
Hope everyone has a nice night. dh is working and I will be well and truly in bed by midnight! Last night ds slept well again with 3 hrs, 2.5 hrs and 3.5 hour stints and I cuddled him for pretty much the whole last 3.5hrs and it was just scrumptious :p Today I've been cleaning and it feels good. I wanted to smudge the house with sage but don't have any so at least the house will feel clean if not energetically :)
-
hi girls!
Cherished: i have no idea about the CM...i was wondering the same thing as i too have had some EWCM lately and it threw me. as well as some aching on the right side (which i always get when Oing). but as yet no AF (YAY!). have to say that i do like being free from that old lady lol.
my NYs was suprisingly emotional. when the midnight fireworks went off i found myself with tears rolling down. i think the enormity of losing my Oma is really sinking in, she'll never see 2011 and her birthday is coming up this month and i feel a bit lost about it all. i guess grieving is one of those drawn out things at times...
on a more happier tone, Marta is absolutely LOVING her jolly jumper! i bought it off ebay the other day (gotta love ebay lol) and she has been bouncing around madly, giggling like crazy in her vain attempts to catch stella (our dog) as she walks past the JJ lol. i'll post it on FB in the coming days and put in a link as i reckon it's too funny :)
-
Cas  You're Oma will always be with you hon. I hadn't thought of it but this is the 1st year my grandma wasn't here for christmas too. She passed away a couple of weeks before DS was born. I guess I hadn't had christmas with her for 10 years as she lived in my home town interstate and I hadn't been there for years. I now my mum missed her and i have many lovely memories of christmas lunch with her and my great grandparents every year.
Would love to see those jolly jumper pics as they sound adorable! do you need to hang the jolly jumper from the roof?
Well today I have the most lovely news! DS only had 1 feed last night :hooray: Sooooo happy! he went to bed at 8:45 and I followed him 5 mins later. Then he woke just before 2am for a feed then back to sleep until 6 woohoooooooo can't even tell you how flipping happy I am! And he rolled from back to side then up strongly onto his tummy on Saturday when he was exactly 15 weeks old so I'm feeling pretty chuffed with the little fella today :)
But I'm totally SICK of my hair! Does anyone else feel like that? my hair dresser said that lots of her clients come in and get their hair cut off after having a baby and that if I wanted to get mine cut off she wouldn't do it lol :p she says my hair is beautiful and health and thick and I'd have to go somewhere else! BUT I want it cut, I dont' think it's healthy at all, every since I got lighter foils in it (permanent dye) it's stuffed my hair, I think it's dry and has split ends which I've never had before) and it knots up easily, which again I've never had a problem with. My hair is really long though as you've all seen in pics but I think I might get it cut to maybe an inch below my shoulders and have it all the one length at the back and only layered at the sides. Still not sure on the colour thing. I'd like it lighter but that will only keep it dry but then being shorter it'll be easier to wash and style so I dunno???
-
oh man i hear you on the hair! mine has gone all gross after Marta was born. it is long and ashamedley looks quite ratty. mine also knots up easily: i desperately want a haircut but havent found someone that i like since we moved to this place. unfortunately they see you with a baby and want to give you some 'queen mother' style haircut. totally not into that lol! i also dont want to go short as i fear it may just accentuate my large bum hahahahaha! i'm thinking just above shoulders with lots of layering, to give it some fake bounce :)
i bet DS was totally proud himself when he rolled over like that! Marta gets this look of mad glee when she does something she reckons is pretty cool lol.
that is sooo amazing with DSs sleep! i am GREEN with envy too! we have had shockers the last few nights. i am almost beside myself. well, last night i was totally beside myself as she has been up and YELLING (not crying, just testing her lungs out and laughing when she yells :o). and it goes for hours and hours. so last night she started at 11pm, woke again at 12.30, then 1 and then 2.30 then stayed awake until 4amish. come 3.30am i just popped her into her cot beside us (we were cosleeping before that) and had to *ignore* her (ie, put a pillow over my head and mildly panic at the prospect of more hours like that lol!). in the end she started yawning and i knew that she would give up soon enough...sweet bliss to hear that sigh of sleep LOL!
left the house early this morning and headed to st. kilda beach. lovely to walk around there, although the swimmers stayed firmly in the bag as it was FREEZING! i am horrified as this year the summer is just not coming NOOOOOO! i need to move back north...this is crazy!
-
Cass I reckon we should do the chop then! I have heaps of layers in the back of my hair now which is great when my hair is long as it weighs it down but if my hair is short and layered then it's just way toooooo thick and just looks boofy hence having to have it one length at the back, if anything the top layer should be ever so slightly longer than the bottom so that it holds all my hair down rather then it flicking up at the ends kwim I think I might also go lighter again BUT then I'll have to keep paying to get it done, unless my hair dresser shows me what products to use and I do it myself at home
DS is also testing out his lungs by screaming and laughing but we think it's kinda adorable (FOR NOW) as he's doing it for an hour or so in the afternoon... we wouldn't think it's that funny if it was during the night like little Marta! :o
-
yeah it's funny 'cause i'm all grumpy pants when i am lying in bed trying not to look at her, then i look and there she is with this big gummy smile and sheesh, what can you do but laugh (then i am norti and smother her in kisses lol...so not helping myself lol).
here is a pic of her in the JJ...Jolly Jumper Smiles!
-
OMG that pic is just soooo funny! Looks like she just LOVES it! I can just imagine her giggling away :loveshower: thanks for sharing!
I forgot to mention that I also think that about my butt! I'm always thinking that short hair will make me look bigger  I'm not too sure if that actually is the case though??? I think that about having color too though! I always think that when I'm smaller I will get my hair lighter. And last year when I lost weight it was the biggest confidence booster to get my hair lighter. Maybe I'll wait for the color and see how our finances turn out but still get my hair cut. I'm just finding that I am not even washing my hair much these days cause I just can't be bothered drying etc and I feel totally gross with feral hair when I only wash it once a week :(
-
Hi Ladies!
I know I don't get to posting much, but I do read all your posts!
I just wanted to let you know that .....
.... DD is teething!
Oh we had some tears, poor little poppet. Even the amber doesn't seem to be doing anything (I bought her an anklet as the necklace kept getting buried in her neck folds - she has no neck I swear!). And she can't quite hold things yet to chew a teething ring, I have to hold it for her. Well she can hold it for a little while, but drops it. In the end I gave her some bonjella, even though you aren't supposed to use it till 4 months.
EWCM - yep, here too. I have been wondering about AF, I just don't want a big surprise and have it to happen one day when I am out, no!
Hair - crap here too! HEAPS of it falling out. Partly due to my thyroid condition (levels have gone all whacked since giving birth and BF and I've had to increase my meds, but it will take a while to even out). But I am too chicken to get my hair cut short, because I too think it will make my face look fatter. Maybe I won't have to worry becasue I may end up bald soon at this rate!
yay on the rolling cherished! DD still has a bit of catching up to do there (darn harness!). At least now though she enjoys - well perhaps enjoys is too strong a word - tolerates - her bath.
I got my sewing maching back just before Christmas, and made DD a BIG Santa Sack with her intials on it which I was pretty chuffed with :D
Cass - I am sure your Oma is with you and is proud of you and your girls.
HPL - I just have to tell you that I smiled at your colour co-ordinated christmas tree and paper - ours was "crazy tree" I have all "odd" decorations, which I have collected over the years, none of them match anything. And I try and wrap every present in different paper, just to make it more colourful. :D
well, Happy new year to you all!
-
Grrrr I am soooo annoyed right now!! I wrote a MASSIVE post yesterday and it's not here!!!!!!!
Ok so the shirt version:
Cass: JJ rock!!!! bubs has one too it's freaking awesome!!!
Cherished: WooHoo on the awesome sleep!! And a huge WooHoo for bubba rolling!!!!!!
Crap crap can't remember what else I wrote to you ladies!!! The Hair don't go short!! Keep some length, when I got mine cut it was well over due but still pretty long.. I hear ya on the knot front too and what about hair loss my gosh it seems like it's falling out n I'll go bald LMAO!!!
I was goin to say that bubs rolled over too from tummy to back it was awesome so proud I had a tear.... Umm whAT else was in there - oh I can't remember damn it!! Ooo I have actually started to lose weight now yay!!!! 8kgs then I'm done!!!
Hope everyone had a great new year!!!
-
Milly you and i were typing at the same time lol - but you did remind me about stuff...
cass: my nanna passed on the 22nd Dec 97 so Xmas has always been bit sad but we try n remember the good times :-) .... We always have a picture of nanna out ona special frame each year so she's always around..
I think that's all lol hope I haven't forgotten anything...
-
Mwah thanks girls those hugs and lovely words mean alot: it's so weird without her iykwim. Still trying to get my head around it tbh.
So i take it that short hair is out for us  so funny that we all were on the same wavelength lol.
Milly: teeth! Can you see them yet? I saw buds on Marta the other day, bit then they seem to go back down. Her necklace also goes AWOL in the neck folds lol.
HPL: woo hoo on the weight! I have started swimming again in a desperate attempt to lose and tone. I don't own scales though so fitting clothes will have to be my gauge lol.

Milly Teeth OMG really? DS hasn't been grizzly enough for us to be thinking about teeth but I still like putting his necklace on.
Speaking of necklaces I've decided to make gem stone jewelery as a hobby and just ordered lots of beads on line so can't wait to get them. I don't have a problem leaving the necklace on overnight but as I've said before dh doesn't want to so I am going to make one for his ankle. BUT I think there's loads more chance of him pulling it off and therefore breaking it  I will make it with knots in between each bead so even if he breaks the clasp he can't swallow any beads but my question is do you think I should make it with a magnetic clasp so it'll be pretty easy to pull off really or with a screw on clasp? I've heard some people like a magnetic one for around the neck... I just don't know?? But I'm also going to add some other crystals for different things like helping to sleep and for relaxation etc :)
re the hair I think everyone looses loads of hair after birth. I noticed that during pregnancy I hardly lost any hair and before hand I would always have lots falling out every day when I brushed it let alone when I used to wash it. SO I figure that I've got 9 months worth of no hair falling out to catch up on which = LOADS OF HAIR LOSS!!! I'm sure it'll settle down. I'm never going 'really' short I'd always be below the shoulders at least by an inch. That is as short as I'd go. Now it's just below the bra strap so that's still be cutting off heaps :o Funny though, after I posted yesterday I washed it and gave it a treatment then dried it and straightened it and I look like I've just stepped off a photo shoot for a hair commercial  maybe my problem is just being lazy now bub is here and too stuffed to be bothered 'doing' my hair? I think I'll wait until I've lost some more weight and my energy has picked up and see if that make a difference to how I feel.
HPL well done on the weight loss! I so wish I only had 8kg to loose. Having said that when I have lost 8kg's I will start to feel pretty happy :)

hmmm i would think that if you needed to get the necklace off quickly that even with a screw one, it would come off quick if you pull it; of course it would break but if you needed to get it off so quick i wouldnt think that it would matter IYKWIM. i personally dont like the magnetic ones as i do find that if i bump them (i'm thinking bracelet though) they come apart. i LOVE love love the idea of adding the other stones to it  what a cool idea!
i have been thinking of teeth only because Marta is biting hard on anything she can find lol!
finally she slept AOK last night. only one wake-up for quick boob. phew, the last few nights have been hard with her waking heaps, so was happy for the welcome relief. and those crazy nights came off the back of a wonderfully rejuvenating night of 7pm to 5am...argh! it will happen one day and then you'll see me missing my midnight feeds (like i did with DD1 lol).

hellooooooo out there
i'm guessing everyone has a better social life than...ahh sad but true!
not much to report, just touching base...although on a slightly cool note, we have been having a few sleep throughs :o :leap: not counting my chickens though hahahaha! especially as the week before was like hourly wakeups lol.

lol I'm here, just been having a panic attack about income and returning to work or NOT... be back later DS is crying.......
-
*snap* we had that panic this morning lol! as usual the renos are going over budget and i have had to sacrifice my trip to the US :( really bummed but could see it coming. in a way i do look forward to getting back to some paid work...but no doubt that will be more likely next year...

You too hey! sux doesn't it! I am feeling heaps more positive about it now though and not only positive but really pretty happy at what we've come up with :) Hopefully dh will get the extra work and it'll be really well paid and if one of them comes together I will be able to do some of it from home to help him out. I will post more details when I know for sure what we will be doing. One things for sure I DO NOT want to go back to work let alone to my old job where my boss drove me insane :wall: and the girl who is doing my job has nothing in between her ears iykwim :shakehead: AND every time I run into a client non of them have seen the photos of DS that I took in there or even know what his name is.... It's like my old work just don't care so I'm not feeling any love at all and prey I can tell them to shuv it up their bum it but unfortunately I will need to be polite about it cause I'll continue going there as a customer lol
:leap: woooohooo on those sleeps!!!! If my eyes weren't already green they would be now! HAHAHA We have had 3 nights all up over the last week I think where DS has woken for 1 feed. He has however stirred to the point where we've had to roll him on his side and pop the dummy in to get him to settle or dh has held him back to sleep so our sleep was still interupted but at least bub is on the right track with not needing the milk. Fingers crossed it wont be much longer and he'll sleep through too. Mind you for those few good nights we had a total shocker where he woke anywhere between 1-2 hours throughout the whole night :o
He's still as cute as ever though and I'm soooooo in love with him! Oh Cass back onto our income thingo that is at the forefront of my mind we were considering even moving! We thought about dh working in the UAE and us living in Europe so the flight was shorter when he works, I know you've been everywhere so where would be a good place to base ourselves from in Europe to see everything travel wise and for flights back to the UAE? That totally sucks that you wont get to do your trip :( when were you going to leave and was it for work or holidays?
