Kate, I love your arrowroot biscuit idea, but you might want to think carefully before adding large amounts of red food colouring to the party mix .
Trill well I'm already dead jealous of your Floriade catch up. What a great idea to come up and make it a weekend! Apparently it's supposed to snow in Canberra today?!
Rainy, Poo to her! Just let it wash sweets. IF she can't say something nice she should keep her trap shut. I'm thinking she must be just like the grandma I had a run in with at the shops the other day: obviously has a small and miserable life. xxx
Supa - did you have MS bad last time... or are you just scaredy about the labour/birth thing?
Arte - wow you must have a LOVELY dressing gown . Those playdates are great. My friend (who just had her new bub BTW - little boy called Elijah - bit of a shock, she was sure she was going to have a little Tabitha) has a DD who is 3 mths older than E - it was a huge gap a few months ago but now that E's getting closer to 2 it's evening out more.
Ange - good to burst that welsh pony bubble - they're all a teensy bit nasty aren't they? Shetlands are, that's for sure ...bit like some breeds of small dogs (not Bosty tho, he's either a hounddog trapped in a miniature body - or maybe just some unidentified species of rodent LOL). Your weekend at the beach sounds divine! I've got a nighttime cough that sounds just like L's - glad she got some relief. Hopefully you won't need to use the V very often, but reassuring to know it's there when you need it, kwim?
Well the landscaping fiasco continues - it took DH FOUR goes to get the sleepers in place ! Turns out he had difficulty understand the difference between LEVEL (as in with the horizon) and parallel (as in to the path which is on a slope). There was a bit of swearing LOL. Anyway lucky for me I was busy doing an impromptu cleanout of DD1's bedroom (make way for birthday goodies!) so the day wasn't a complete waste. Removed two huge garbage bags worth - one of trash and one of charity goodies. Will give Missy E's room a clearout just before her birthday too - when it will be time to clear out the bubba toys .
Well the House of Lurg continues. Have DD1 home today in a vomitous state Pity I was all geared up for a big day of getting things done.
hi everyone
day 1 of 3 half way done with work - sooooo glad this is my last week - i am OVER IT!
Trill - would love to meet up when you are here, you just let me know. you will be able to meet the new baby too - who will be about 2 months - wow!!
MD - yuk on the lurgy - it is hanging around a bit. hope you are feeling ok. sounds like you are one productive person - i would have been sitting with my feet up while dh fought with the sleepers.
had my orientation visit to qe2 thios morning - and am feeling ok about it. last night we tried just gentle settling to sleep when he woke - he didnt live it, finaly worked out how to climb out of bed LOL!! but we didnt get into his bed once in the night which is a bonus for us. we were up til 2am mind you, but progress is progress! the nurses at qe2 seem to think we are an 'easy case' so i askled them to also help me with how to settle a new bubbainto our family - yeah to that i say!! i am a bit worried about how we will go with the new routine given we will then have major disruption soon (i hope very soon) after with the new baby, but it didnt nseem to phase them too much.
N's wheeze is a lot better... we havent used the ventolin since sat night...
Arte - lol at the dressing gown comment. i have printing of wedding pics (ie order from photograoher) on my mat leave to do list... yes we did just have our 6 yr wedding anni....
rainy - tell mil to GET A LIFE!
ok better go get some of this work done.
spk later ladies.
I had a little shetland pony when I was about our bubs age. It lived in our back yard and went inside to eat the cat biscuits. We had a three legged dog at the time and apparently the pony's main source of amusement was to bite the remaining back leg out from under it lol Very cute pics of little me riding it though.
Feeling glum today, despite passing my GTT the other week my blood sugars are now starting to go over the limits. Trying hard to remember what I ate last time, surely I didn't live for 3 months on Basmati rice? Trying to accept that I will probably never get the natural birth I wanted.
Also mum is keeping two puppies out of her litter, now she will have 10 dogs! It is just too many. I am going to ask her if she will cage some of them when we are there with W and the new bub, I just can't keep a close enough eye on W with that many dogs and a newborn too. I hope she doesn't get offended, she is very precious about her dogs.
ETA, PAP, I can't believe that you are almost on maternity leave already! Hope the sleep school is helpful for you. W is still waking up a couple of times a night, I am in his bed because I am too lazy to get up (and it is cold!) but I will have to move out of there soon.
MD, I just leave DH to do things wrong and realise for himself later, it isn't worth the fight about me 'micro-managing' even if I am right lol
art- what kind of dogs does your mum have?
not good news about the gd...
did you end up coming to a decision about what to do with w during the birth?
there's no way i want to be friends with mil on fb. i don't want her in my business at all.
md- small and miserable life is exactly right.
well we had a visit this morning from ange, lu and sassa. lu and lewis snuggled up on the couch together- so cute!!
sooo cute Rainy and Ange!!
ikwym about ils being on facebook - my FIL tried to friend me and i ignored... it is shouldnt be cross generational imo!
cally and sherie - looking fwd to our catch up.
Arte - i forget what your gd was like last time - was it diet controlled? i hope it doesnt get too bad... i hope your mum understands re the dogs, i think most people would.. tbh it is prob better for puppies not to be around toddlers too (i am thinking pull the tail tendencies!!)
Last time GD was insulin controlled, very limited diet, hungry all the time. So not looking forward to it.
W loves the puppies, he talks about them for weeks afterwards - very cute. They are border collies, so not even small dogs. DH already doesn't like him near them because he is worried W will get bowled over etc. My worst fear is that one will snap and a pack mentality will take over.
wow, new thread and i am SOOOo way behind on all the goss!
MD: i am with your DH on the sleeper madness...i have no idea when it comes to being technical. i wish i could call it *creativity* but instead, it's just plain unco-ness.
Arte: woozers. that is alot of dogs in one spot. are they allowed that many?! it would be good if she could keep most of them away when you visit and maybe just have 1 or 2 around that are gentle enough for W to be familiar with, without feeling overwhelmed IYKWIM.
Sherie: ooooh floriade would be fun! wish i could go and meet up with you all!!
Ange: the welsh pony i used to ride (trixy was her name...need i say more LOL!) also used to do the bum nip whenever i would go to get on. or she would drop her front leg down to try and have you fall in the mud LOL! it builds resolve and determination...
Rainy: could you just send the link of the photos to her? we do with my MIL. that way they can only see the album and nothing else...
Supab: did you have a doozer of pg last time? no doubt it is the worry of the 'what ifs' that is more scary than the actual thing. once you are pg, no doubt you will hit the ground running.
hhmm it appears that i should read the other thread to get fully updated...
AFM: we are fine and dandy...well actually i lie. today was a shocker with Leila. she woke up at 6am angry and unamused. and it continued all day. even at MG she was horrendous. she fell asleep this arvo on the way home after doing a MASSIVE poo. so she is currently catching the zzzzz's smelling like something died in her pants . so glamorous.
AND IT IS FREEZING TODAY. PAP, i saw that canberra wasnt even cracking the double digits today!
