yep it is SO COLD today! yuk.
app with wind chill it was 0 this morning when DH dropped N at kindy. better get my mum onto a few more hand knits i think!
clare - hope L wakes up happier...
hey everyone,
hope everyones doing well am soooo tired!! just jumped on to wish everyone well and say i posted a couple of belly shots on fb if anyones interested.. they arent great shots but u get the idea haha cant believe im 32wks!! gettin pretty nervous now!!
Rainy - you can always just block your MIL from seeing anything but the photos. Look in privacy settings, you can block her from seeing your statuses, wall posts, friends etc. Or just send her the link. She could always make the effort and take her own photos hehe...not that you'd want her that close that often.
MD - OMG I so didn't even think of that. There will be red icing for the cake and I was going to put it on the cupcakes as well so your idea rocks!! As for your landscaping, WTG!! My Dh is useless when it comes to that kind of thing so I try to step up, but the best I got this weekend was weeding and putting the potted plants that I brought 4 months ago in the places that I want them planted.
PAP - Good luck with sleep school, fingers crossed it all goes smoothly and gets sorted quickly.
Arte - I told my MIL that unless she put her 5 cats out in the cattery and moved the 3 dogs into the backyard that S wouldn't be visiting. I was more worried at that stage about her unhouse-trained animals leaving surprises everywhere and all the food and water bowls everywhere. She only has chi-hua-huas but still frikken annoying. Speak up...W's health and safety is and should always be at the forefront of her mind
MD + Cassius- had not an ounce of ms last pg. I couldn't have felt better actually. I was very thin then and am 10kgs heavier this time + feeling ill during AF and when I think of being pg and how I am going t cope + the birth I get a head spin + like I am going to vomit. I know every birth is different but wondering if I had another c-sect would I still clot this time + need the dr to dig his arm *up there* a million times trying to get it out. I hope this hasn't scared anyone, that was not my intention I am just worried it could b another one of those births again. I am telling myself surely not but I guess u never know. It would prolly b so smoothly and I am worrying for nothing yeah?
Sorry about the selfish rant, I can only talk to u guys + DH about this and u know how they see it...
hey everyone
Ashas at daycare today since it was a public holiday on monday i put her in today just so she dosnt get too thrown out.. was worried because shes only gone twice if she had a whole week without going it might throw her out a bit.. gives me a chance to catch up on the housework.. if i can ever get off my big fat bum that is!! trying to get motivated to do the kitchen coz its dhs job really but theres dishes everywhere and its a big mess.. hes been so tired lately looking after us i feel a bit guilty.. that and i really need to get to my floors while Ash isnt here!! the motivation is seriously lacking tho haha im really tired too!!
am working my way through washing all the baby clothes, just putting a nappy bucket worth of stuff in to soak for a few days and then washing it.. the stuff that i have from Asha when she was 0000 and 000 is in such good condition because she had sooo many clothes alot of it was only worn once or twice.. especially the unisex stuff lol...
hugs supa b if it makes u feel better i get very nervous and sometimes a little nautious when i think about going through labour again and my labour was pretty normal really.. just some decels and a test where they *****ed her head to test oxygen.. was told i had an hour left before intervention and i pushed her out in 26mins.. had 2nd degree tearing but everything was fine really.. i think its normal to be scared, any labour and birth takes a big toll on you physically and emotionally.. dont worry about talking to us about it thats what we're here for
hope everyones doing well have a great day!!
Sat night took livi to the hospital as she fell twice and landed on her hand and was sooki and holding her hand a lot so just wanted to be safe and get it checked they said she was all good. Xavier went to hospital yesterday for more gromets and these ones should stay in for about 3 years so hoping that works. Other than that all is ok. DH asked me if I wanted to go to america with him in october for a week as he has enough flyer points pay for my tickets so I am really considering it. the only thing is leaving the kids for that long and its so far away from them. I suppose its only a week and its free.
hello all
Supa - i know what you mean re feeling nervous - i also did at the start and when i got preg (even though we were sure we wanted to ttc) i had a little freak out about it all. and that is after i had only positive labour and birth stories! i think that over time you just relax. also remember each preg and birth is different - would it be worth having a debrief with someone to get over your fears or deal with it all? anyway, you can talk here - thats what we are here for my dear!
Leanne - i think you should go... a week isnt so long and your kids seem to be great with sleepovers with their grandparents. it will be nice to get away with your DH. glad Livi's hand was ok and that the grommets went well too. hope you are feeling ok too with the hard time you have been having.
Noni - yay for some time for you, i hope you got to relax a bit as well.
Gypsy - how are you feeling?
sorry iforgot anytying else that was written!
last day of work tomorrow - YEE HAAAAR!
eta - rainy how cute!!! did L also suck his thumb?
PAP - Yay congrats on the last day of work for tomorrow! Time to start your nesting. You must be so excited now. Yes I am feeling fine thanks, no morning sickness what so ever, just want to make it to that 12th week!
Rainy - Too cute, I remember M doing that. Cant believe it snowed at your place, must be so cold! What did L think of the snow?
PAP - woohoo I hope you enjoy your last day at work tomorrow, will they spoil you do you think?
Rainy - SNOW! I love it! I just know you've been keeping nice and toasty next to that fire...good excuse for cracking out the hot chocolate IMO. Too cute with the thumb sucking
Supa - try not to worry. Talk to your doctor and ask for their reassurance, I'm pretty sure they will say that just because it happened once doesn't mean it will happen this time, kwim? Sounds like you will be having lots of detailed conversations so you can weigh up the VBAC/CS thing as well.
Noni - yay for daycare! I felt like this was my first daycare day in ages (cos I had DD1 home moping about sick yesterday - refused to actually just get into bed and sleep mind you) and you just get so much more done don't you.
Leanne - go for it - USofA. How often will this come up - not often. Will the kids stay with your mum?
Clare did your day improve yesterday? LOL at something dying in L's pants.
Arte - do you have access to a dietician via the public health system over there? They can give you some really good tips plus they will have zillions of recipe ideas on take-home brochures. If you were hungry all the time last PG you probably weren't eating enough calories. If you see a dietician make sure you get their number so you can ph them and tweak your plan if you hungry enough to start eyeing off the border collies, kwim? Good call re the doggy caution, like you say all it takes is one of them to flip, kwim?
Well I sprung my FDC lady out at the Op Shop today. LOL Turns out she has a secret op shopping addiction too. It was nice because her DD saw me and kept asking if Missy E was there too. Nice to know they enjoy each other's company!
Read and weep - found the BEST party planning books at the library today. Went down to collect my holds and came back with a dozen books or so LOL.
I love you all. Ok so I will go. Grany will look after the kids. Now Look out walmart here I come.
Pap- I am finally startin to feel good again yipppeee. Hope you have a great last day at work tomorrow.
MD- party planing book sounds great.
Rainy- Snow you lucky girl
Noni- hope you enjoyed your mumma time today you lucky girl. Love your belly pics
DD woke up far too early this morning - stirred at 5 (got herself back to sleep), 5:20 I went in and did a quick resettle, 5:35 I lay down on the floor with a blanket and a pillow and she tossed and turned for almost an hour - did get a little bit of sleep though. Then she crashed in the car on the way to school. Ended up getting more than 30 minutes in, DH sat in the car listening to the radio, she didn't wake when he first lifted her out of the car it was only when he opened the door to the centre. Poor little bugger. Has got a bit of a cold so that must be interfering with her sleep.
They are ripping up the road right outside my window at work. Noisy and dirty and those stupid beeping trucks are driving me insane!! Luckily one of the girls has made chocolate chip cookies and so they are helping me get through!
Rainy: ahh snow! how exciting! at least there is some pay-off for the cold i reckon!
Supa: maybe you could find a good doula to support you through the pregnancy, birth and post-natal period. that is soo what i am doing this time as i had quite a traumatic birth experience (didnt hit me until days later though...).
Leanne: get on the plane girl! LOL! the kids will be fine...and you will have a BALL!! i am soooo jealous!
Cally: so in the same boat ATM. not sure what is happening with DD but we are beginning to fray at the edges. she has become really clingy, but at the same time doesnt want us to pander to her ITMS. bed time has become more contentious. she goes down fine and looks forward to it, but then spends anywhere up to an hour playing and chatting in her cot. because of the late sleep (she falls around 8pm) she then wakes really early now. we are sooo not coping LOL! 6am was the best we could achieve today. and it's weird, she is totally manic when awake too. i am beginning to freak out!
MD: no, our days have been intense with our cherub. as i mentioned to cally we are soo tired and have no idea what is going on. oh, and we had a poo-splosion in car. of course by the time we pulled up she had 'grabbed' it with her hand smeared it all over the carseat and herself and was HYSTERICAL. urgh.
AFM: well, we had sleet yesterday and it appears that it is going to happen again today. yay. nothing like slush puppy from the sky.
Leila is going bonkers.
lol cally are you using the choc chip cookies to block your ears!!??? YUM!
N also woke early this morning - i was hoping with the COLD and DARK he would start to sleep in. alas he is his daddy's son (bloody morning people!!)
Thanks for the good wishes re last day - I AM BEYOND EXCITED to finish! no party or send off here though, as all my team is in melb... but they did havea nice lunch for me when i was last there and last time they sent a gorgeous gift when N was born so maybe i'll get another one this time.. i am pretty busy doing handover and last minute things... but in a few hrs i am FREE FREE FREE! i can nest and get things ready and have some me time!
MD your library stash sounds great. i need to get to the library soon...
Leanne - glad you will go, do some shopping for all of us!! where will you be?
N is sleeping a lot better the last 2 nights. we have moved ot gentle settling methods outlined in the book the qe2 recommends (well we are a bit more softies than they say but it is ok). nomore lying in bed with him, sit on end of bed... anyway he had one settle (took about 10 mins) at 8.30pm, then another at 9.30... and then slept alone til 6am last night.. and the night before just one at 8.30and then til 6.30am. this is unheard of in our house. i wonder is it a fluke or is the harder core approach working? we also read hima book in bed then sit on end of bed while he goes to sleep (leave if he wont lie down, which results in full on yelling from him) - this is compared to readinfg a book then cuddling, singing, patting for about 40 mins... (which was a big step up 2 weeks ago from the rocking chair til in sleep oblivion). no idea if it is a change in behaviour, or if he is sick or if it is a fluke but DH is loving the extra sleep. me - well i have preg insomnia so i am not rested.. but i could be!!
eta clare - eeeeeeeeeewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww at the poo-splosion!
Pregpan - i am SO excited its your last day. wow, you are not gonna know yourself. enjoy it, lol, you won't wanna go back. You will be logging on to BB like u never have before. ha ha.
Cassius - a doula, yeah, i never thought of that. do u know how much they are and i am guessing u find a recommended one. I am getting used to the idea though, its the OUTCOME we are after, and just have to bide it out. it will go quick too coz we r busy with DD. Sleet, snow? oh wow!!!! that's cool. well, pretty freezing actually (pardon the pun! lol, couldn't help myself).
Cally - so to get choc chip cookies. i made some for DH tues and he loves them, must say, they are delicious. DD doesn't like 'em.
5am is way too early, what was she thinking? if they not breathing properly it can interfere.
Leemar - Yay u decided to go! whoooooo. U could always see it as a second honeymoon *wink wink*. hope u r feeling better.
MD - Way cool on the books, u r such a good scout. I don't have a permanent dr coz we just shifted, but i'll have to find one. i did call FMC yest to ask them what their views are. it was good to talk to the labour & delivery ward, the lady was very pleased to answer my questions, which i was glad about, i know they are busy but she took the time to talk to me. if it looks like the baby is large like T, then they will discuss cs options and vbac if that is even possible. as you told me.
Gypsy - what is UTD? i can't work it out. just finished AF and *talking* about DTD ROFL.
Noni - thanks sweets.
AFM - T has the snottiest nose, wet eyes and wiping it everywhere. she has big red hot cheeks. is this teething? What a bad mom she still dumps her at MIL's for the day. hee. well she does eat and sleep more at her house so that is a good thing... right?....
SupaB, I have been watching the reruns of McLeods, waiting for you to be famous lol. Stevie is looking reasonably pregnant now, so it can't be too far away.
PAP, that is fantastic about the sleep. I have been walking out of the room if W is being a monkey, good to know it is the right thing! I guess we will give him another couple of weeks to get used to going to bed with DH and then toughen up with no sleeping in the bed with him.
Clare, I have been meaning to say for ages that my cousin started taking those conception plus vitamins and was pregnant within a few months after 5 years of trying. Is probably a coincidence though. I did send her some pre-seed around that time and I would love to know if it helped, but it seems too personal a thing to ask lol OMG that poo sounds horrendous! As obsessed with poo as W is, he doesn't seem to think much of his own and (touch wood) has never bothered with it in his nappies.
MD, there is a public diabeties nurse that visits my town, I will see her if I need to. I think mostly I was hungry because you have to wait two hours between eating and testing and can't snack. I know it doesn't sound like long but by the time two hours rolls around I was starving. And I couldn't have much of the filling carbo part of the meal.
We are going away this weekend which I am quite excited about. BIL is competing in the rural bacholor of the year so we are going to go and watch the final. I have managed to ruin it before it started though because I wasn't going to go because it would cost too much extra (just DH was going to go) but then I changed my mind because I am sick of staying at home doing nothing because I am worried about the budget when DH just does what he likes and I sort it out later. But it turned into a huge deal and now I have 'manipulated DH to get my own way', so it is all tainted anyway. Never mind, I have been wanting to go away for a weekend for over a year and this will be the only chance before the baby comes so I am going to enjoy it anyway.
