Renee: HEYA!! been AGES mate! the maybe baby is one of those 'some love em, some hate em' things. one thing that ppl told me was to use ALOT of saliva...and wait a bit longer than they say on the packet for the result...other than that i cannot really offer much, i never used one...
Ange: hmmmm, i am also crapulent at user name ideas...is there anything from PNG that you could tie in...like coconuts and coral???
AFM: well, we had a big week it turns out...decided rather abruptely to stop giving leila a bottle before bed. she grizzled at me for a bit until i told her that it means we can read one more book or a bit more play time. so she is cool with that!
AND...as of last night...she is sleeping in her BIG GIRL bed!! yesterday she missed having a real day nap and was begging to go to bed at 4pm...she literally climed the sides of the cot to get in . so i thought stuff it, and got out the allen key and took off the cot sides and converted it to the bed...she LOVES it! slept well and is still feeling really chuffed that she has a BG bed.
Long time no hear from me. Sorry I have been MIA. We went O/S and been busy, still no internet at home, so txting on phone.
Reneenay- hi there! Hope u r well. There is a TTC thread here somewhere which helped me. I used O predictor kit for 2 mths and it worked. So 7th month it finally worked. U r not on ur own. :hugs:
It sure it interesting reading the weights and lenths of ur toddlers. T is 16kgs now and about 95cm long. She looks like a 3-4 year old. Where has my baby gone? She is 2 going on 6.
Trill- I had to laugh at A's cute bum. T's is so big she wears a size 6 puma skirt and it doesn't fall down!
MD- I hope u r goin well.
Sounds like everyone's little toddlers r doing really good.
BBL...

awww thanx SB. It took 6 months with Rory so im hoping it will happen so. Its just frustrating when I feel the months racing by, I really want a brother or sister for Rory soon.
Would love to see some photos of T! Whoa overseas!! Where did you go? Hope you had a great time xx
Rory is 15kg but he has no meat on him whatsoever, just tall and thin! LOL like Alister he has no hips or bum haha
Renee, I so hear you, we want another one as well. TTC is hard work!!
Trill - PMSL at A being a truck, especially backing up with the beeping noise. Just burst out laughing & DH wanted to know why, he thought it was funny too lol. Still laughing. Also cant believe A can still get into size 0 lol.
As for toddler weight, M is 14.5g, dont know her height but she is getting up there!! She still has plenty of chub on her, its gorgeous, I love her chubby bum & legs!
Arte - Awww poor W, I can imagine. M has had a couple of older kids approach her and start chatting away, the look of dissapointment on their faces when they get no response is so sad. All I can say is they will soon catch up to W. Wedding anniversary is not till March but thinking ahead.
Clare - Yayyyyyy on getting rid of the bedtime bottle and moving into the big girls bed.
Ange - I hope your brother keeps improving, I'm sure having his neices around will help.
What a nightmare getting M into bed tonight, inlaws back from a holiday but laden with chocolate and lollies, practically shoving them down her throat Anyone else still having this problem?!
I just read that thread H. I hope you can get it through their heads that too much isn't cool. Yeah he can still get in a 0, probably even a 00 in some shorts I reckon. Paige was the same - she wore a size 0 skirt I brought her at 16mths for the start of summer and she was still wearing it until the start of last summer when she was 4.5yo. It was just an awful lot shorter LOL. Its only now she's filling out a bit. Alister will be exactly the same. Beanpoles are on DH's side of the family though.
hey SupaB! great to see you pop in. How is TAFE going?
oh phew, so it is not only my child that is still wearing the Os! we have had 2 summers worth of clothing for DD now...
H: we had MEGA issues in italy with the ILs. i cannot offer any real advice (my attempts to stop them resulted in apples being thrown in village streets...). Leila was given chocolates, fanta, coffee ( )..you name it, she got it. chupa chups are now really hard to avoid at shops...
Hahaha oh no Clare, at least your in laws are in Italy! Italians just love spoiling children with all things naughty dont they, at least this is what I have noticed from DH's side of the family. Its nice but too much iykwim.
Trill - Wow I am buying M everything in size 2, or sometimes even size 3 to get more wear lol. A & M sound like chalk and cheese.
Renee - I know what you mean!!!!!
I dont know girls what to do with the inlaws offering M so much crap. I have asked numerous times, nicely, to just give her one chocolate instead of 5. I have tried to relax about it a bit, a few little treats are ok but they seem to abuse it. DH's mum has terrible eating habits and unfortunately pushes those habits onto M. For example a couple of wks ago we were at a family gathering and dessert was being served, MIL said she would get some for M, excellent, but came back with a slab of each cake, excessive for a 2 yr old!!!! Even DH and everyone around commented, much to MIL's embarrassment. It just makes you wonder whats going through her head?? M isnt a small girl either, she is a little chubba, which I know doesnt necessarily mean anything at this age, but with obesity running in the family I want to give her the best start iykwim. Not to mention how it affects her behaviour. While I'm at it, when M spent her time with them when we were in Bali, she came back with yellow bottom teeth. After about a week of thorough brushing from DH and I it was removed. But still, I shudder to think what she was eating while with them. Its terrible because it means I dont feel comfortable sending her for sleepovers etc, I dont want it to be like that. Sorry for the huge vent!!!
Which reminds me, I am making M her first dental appt today. Anyone else been yet?
HI everyone
MM - geez I wouldnt be happy with that (the teeth) - it is hard with the ILs... I mean hard ot get the balance b/n letting them have some freedom with their grandkids and setting boundaries/limits. I am lucky that both my ILs and mum is v health conscious so i dont need to worry about the boys being fed junk there - i am prob more naughty than them (and I am pretty sedate on the food front). Sounds like Clare has some good tactics for dealing with it though!
Wow - cant blieve that some of them are in size 0 - makes me feel better about N, i was worried as lots of size 2 things are very big around his waist... wont worry now
Supa and Renee great to see you both!
Renee - i dont know anything about Maybe Baby - hopew it happens soon for you. I found acupuncture and chinese med worked well for me...
Supa - hope all is going well. where oseas did you go?
well - the big news here is that we are moving to melbourne early next year!!!!! so i have been planning all of that.. creches, houses etc etc etc. it is still quiet with our friends and fam there so i will prob be going on about it in here LOL!
Taking N to have his 18 month vaccs tomorrow. yes the 18 month ones... bad mummy!
YAY MP!!!! this is exciting news! now we can catch up for coffee and muffins!!
MM: the apple and village scene took place on a hot summer day surrounded by glorious laden olive trees and a gentle tuscan breeze...
then it went to crap.
Leila dropped the apple she was eating, instinctively i reached to pick it up and wandered over to a (albeit 15th Century) tap to rinse it off. I then handed it back to her and looked up to see the horrified faces of my BIL and some random Nonna in her mumu...about half a second later i was met with a tirade of how disgusting it was that i gave the apple back yada yada yada. this went on unabated for, oh, say, 10 minutes. i just stood there, feeling the heat of rays sun intensify my quickening rise to fury as they 'instructed' me, the unwise Australian girl, on the ways of the world etc. Mystery Nonna stormed off, BIL didnt let up...other neighbours tuned in. I'm still standing there. DD is still eating her 'poisonous' apple (and yes, the Adam/Eve and snowwhite thing did cross my mind LOL!). Mystery Nonna returns with a bag of apples that she just picked from her (now suddenly) stinking ugly apple tree. BIL reaches over and tosses the apple away from DD...it was roughly at the moment that he reached towards her that i *kinda* lost it. The bag of apples was hurled amongst a flurry of english and italian obscenitites (wasnt my finest moment lol) and ended up over the mountain side while i took DD and stormed (still screaming obscenities) up the mountain road in front of the entire village back home...
the neighbours avoided me after that.
the BIL didnt, and ended up with peanut butter being hurled at his face a few days later.
LOL LOL LOL! I love it haha I shouldn't laugh but I wish I could do something like that. Way to go *high five*.
H - Dh's grandparents are shockers for giving Rory sweet after sweet. And they feed him frizzy drink non stop too. I think thats just their way of spoiling him but it drives me nuts, I dont have the heart to say anything though. I wish I could take a page out of Clare's book and throw the fizzy drink at them hahaha.
How was Bali??? Loved the pics, looked like you had a great time.
eta just got back from Dwayne's grandparents and they gave him TWO glasses of Cola beer...wish me luck getting him to sleep!
Congrats pregpan Your still pregpan to me hehe. Early next year, whoa thats soon. Have you got a house ready to go into?
We are in the middle of selling our house/buying another home. Our purchasers had 28 days to get finance but they couldnt do it so it was extended by 2 weeks. If they dont get finance approved our contact to purchase our new home will fall through too. So stresfull

Renee: oohh that must be stressful! we just bought a house and it was smooth sailing, and yet, my stress levels were still high...so i can only imagine. i did hear though that banks are taking ALOT longer to process approvals...but hopefully it shouldnt be too much longer :fingerscrossed:
MP, let me join your bad mummy club, Missy E had her 18 mth vacc yesterday! LOL It's only chickenpox, isn't it...never even used to be on the schedule. YAY for your move to Melb, I know how happy you will be there and even more of an inducement for me to take myself a little holiday over there!
Renee, keeping everything crossed it all goes through smoothly for you. Ugh I can't believe the ILs are handing over cola drinks!!?
I must admit we are laxer with the sweet foods than we were with DD1 - now because the big kids have some of that Missy E always wants it - I just try to control the portions and I dilute the fizzy - we usually only have lemonade just cos it has the fewest nasties in it. Biscuits are problematic, tho we usually steer clear of actual lollies. Icey poles are a biggie at the moment (heatwave) but I try to keep a stash of homemade juice & yoghurt ones and she's pretty happy to have her teeth brushed unlike DD1 who always made a fuss about it.
MM sounds like you're battling a cultural value about nurturing through food and chubba bubbas being strong and healthy...I guess all you can do is keep talking about it and maybe adopt some strategies like giving M a healthy meal/snack before she goes there so she's not just filling up on cr@p. The teeth and the behaviour are a bit of a worry, but I guess you also have to consider all the healthy stuff you're doing with her will outweigh the stuff which she's really only having sometimes, kwim?
Clare LOL at the apple bag hurling...I have a not-my-finest-moment story involving my FIL and the historic Balfours cafe which very nearly resulted in them packing their car and driving home to QLD 2 days before christmas, but your story most definitely trumps mine for colour and style .
hey everyone,
been a while lol again sorry!!
work was horrible, asha started screaming at childcare which she never did before and william got really unsettled, then i got stressed and couldnt eat or sleep and started fighting with dh coz i was really cranky all the time so i chuckd it in.. fele bad for making such a poor effort but it just wasnt right for us atm iykwim?
last night was an absolute nightmare! william was up crying alot of the night, i think he was just bothered by the heat.. i ended up giving hom panadol tho coz he just wouldnt stop crying and i rocked him to sleep in the pram and then he woke up 2 hours later anyway and by this time it was like 3am.. one very tired mumma this morning!! and its still bloody hot! this weather is driving me crazy!!
as for bad food we were really good with asha until i spose fairly recently.. we dont have too much trouble with IL's they do want to spoil her but the ppl that have her regularly know where to draw the line, well mostly lol.. our main problem here is probably take away.. dh and i eat alot of take away which we never wanted asha to be eating, but she does due to convenience and i feel really guilty about it and i always say im gonna change it but we always fall back into the same trap...
with clothes sizes, asha is 2 - 3 i dont know if we would get away with size 3 pants.. will find out soon tho coz we have to get her a few new summer skirts and shorts she seems to have alot of tops but then mostly all long pants.. William is in 00 now and quite big.. havnt had them weighed and measured in a while..
wanted to ask u guys how much of a flat spot on the head is normal? williams got quite a bad one.. dont remember ashas ever being that bad.. asha did co sleep mostly tho and didnt always sleep on her back where as william is usually happy to sleep in his bassinette.. i try and give him lots of tummy time etc too but he just rolls over now when i put him on his tummy...
hope everyones having a good day and its not too hot wherever you all are
