Lol I was just chatting to her (sms) and bub was lying cradle position so not head down. I think she went into labour on her own though. DH didn't make it but she had loads of support. Kate said Hayley is feeding awesome and sleeping heaps. I can't wait to meet Kate, Sarah and little bub. Photos are all booked in so keep an eye on my FB lol.
Wow Clare your plumbing issues don't sound good at all. When will it be fixed? Lets hope you don't go into labour or else the neighbours hot water system might get a work out filling the birth pool lol.

Arte how did your talk with DH go? I have a few more babies in me I reckon. I always wanted 4, DH wants 3. My dad is an identical twin so maybe pg number 3 will be babies 3 and 4 lol.
L is sick AGIAN, though at least not to badly this time. The poor kid just can't get a break this winter.

Ginger, sorry no tips here. I'll admit complete and unrelenting failure on the TT front here, I'm utterly demoralised by our complete failure on this front. Funnily enough she does a great job of going to the toilet at the FDC lady's house but she has central heating so maybe the dunny seat isn't as cold as it is at home LOL.
PMSL at the toilet seat MD, maybe you need one of those old school fluffy toilet seat thingos.
we have failed so far on TT too MD. i am also deflated over it all and wondering what to do. he doesnt even really do it at creche - the nig step is that he holds now for a while so less accidents but no actual potty/tiolet action
well i've got a sticker chart up........doesn't seem to have any stickers on it yet though ;)
Ginger - try it with chocolate, that seemed to get it going at our place. Stickers just can't cut it those first few times! K was saving all her poos until the nappy went on, she just seemed to get it one day, not sure how or why.
MD - no not clucky, but not ready to say 'That's it'. Same as the highchair and the playgym are all packed away, but I'm not ready to sell them/give them away.
Cass - woah, that does sound like a disaster! What a mess, hope it gets sorted out soon.

Cally, our playgym & highchair etc spent a very long time in the shed but gee I was glad we kept them, it saves fluffing around when the time does come, plus it's always handy to have them to pull out when you have little visitors. I'm keeping a tub of baby toys for the same reason. Oh ok, plus I'm too sentimental to be able to give them *all* away LOL.
Well I had a little victory today with my mummy-confidence after I dragged Missy E all the way into the city for a couple of appts involving lots of waiting in waiting rooms and then sitting nicely & being quiet when I was seen (just physio etc)...she was so well behaved it turned into a nice outing when we stopped for lunch & a play on the way home. I get so physically tired when she acts up that I avoid taking her along to most of these things, so it was a real boost to have a success. Mind you she had a shocker of a tanty this morning regarding putting her slippers on :wall: and her dressing gown being the wrong colour :wall: so it wasn't all daisies and fields of green :rofl:
Lol MD I am with you, I think it is a party. The other mums think cause it just us hanging out and no games or other guests that is isnt :(

Cally I don't think getting rid of your baby stuff even when you know your done would be easy.
G so any progress since your last post? Is the star chart just a TT one? Ours includes, packing away the toys, good behaviour and eating dinner.
I am very proud of L today. Apparently he had an awesome day at CC and they asked that I reward him (as they had run our of stars) when I got home, zero tantrums when we came home and ate all his dinner. We also realised tonight that he can wink, only with his left eye but he is quite good at it. We jumped into bed to read his favourite book which not only does he know most of the words too but he reads them with enthusiasm and changes in his tone of voice like I do, it was sooooo cute.

Oz - We borrowed Meg and Mog from the library last weekend and K just loves it. She tells me not to talk on certain pages and reads it out. She usually gets two stories before bed, but all this week we have read M&M twice each night. She also gets a mini book once she is in bed, the fave is Jemima Puddleduck and she just recites the whole thing.
MD - glad you had a good day with Miss E. K has been an angel lately and it just make a difference to life in general!! The occasional meltdown (ie just wanting yogurt this morning so I started to eat her oatmeal, then she decided it was hers....)
We just came back from the library with more books from the same author. i will have to get Meg and Mog.
Not a great morning though, with little sleep thanks to the wind this is a tired grumpy house today. L has just had the mother of all tantrums, I haven't seen anything like it. Surprisingly I kept calm though and just let him get it all out.
Okay, so contractions ramped up at 2am on Tuesday morning and I walked and breathed through them until heading to the hospy at 8.30am. Rang Rory and booked him a flight for 9.30am. Had an internal which showed good signs with my cervix but she couldn't feel bubs head. Had a scan which showed Hayley as being transverse ...(which is lying sideways cradled in the pelvis, def not head down). If my waters broke at that point, the cord could birth first which is very dangerous. They would have to wheel me to theatre with a midwifes hand stuck up my vag to stop the head from pressing on the cord. Anyhoo...they rang theatre to see when we could get slotted in and they said now.
As I was only 2cm dilated and bubs was in the wrong position it was decided that c/s was the best and safest option. This all happened so quickly that Rory was in the air (50min flight) from the time they made the decision to when she was born. So the first msg he got when he got off the plane was a picture of Hayley taken in theatre.
Mum was my lucky support person and she was so thrilled and proud to be in there with me. Aynsley (my sister) got to be my midwife so it was a really great experience. I ended up with the shakes pretty badly so didn't too many cuddles to begin with cos I was afraid i'd drop her. She came into recovery with me and had a great feed before we got wheeled back up to our room and she met her daddy. Hayley has been feeding really well and sleeping awesome. All this is typed with one hand so its not a perfect recount but gives the basic overview lol.
Kate it is so great to hear from you and that you are both doing wonderfully! She turned then I'm guessing?
Kate: oh wow! cheeky monkey wanting to sit comfy in there lol! she's just beautiful!
Cally: that is what L is like with the Maisy 'first experiences' books. she can request to read each one 2-3 times in a row...makes for *fun* storytime lol.
Oz: yeah, sometimes just sitting back with a cup of tea while they throw themselves around is the only way to 'deal' with it lol! i figure there are just some moments when the meltdown needs to happen...let's hope he's done for a bit though :rofl:
AFM: all good here. appears that it prolly wasnt gastro...yay! felt a bit off this morning, but am able to eat and drink.
Leila is at kindy, so took the opportunity to clean her room from top to bottom. really want to sort her clothes out, but am pretty flaked out now. also vacuumed the skirtings this morning :o

Cass, so glad you got your dunny fixed! Sounds like massive (and expensive) dramas with the plumbing. Our toilet blocked up last year and everything was spewing out beside the house and it took days to get a plumber to come - I was too embarrassed to go near the disaster with him so I just pointed lol. The poor plumber must have thought we lived entirely on corn!

W was a brat today! We were at home bored and he kept being really rough and breaking things - he tore a book which he has never done, and I heard him saying "I'm sliding down a pole" and looked over - the 'pole' was the curtains! Bring on summer!
Kate, so glad everything is going smoothly, remember to rest up, you get no prizes for leaping out of bed too early. That would've been amazing having your sis there as the midwife, so special!
Arte I'm PMSL about your toilet disaster & the pointing & the corn. Toooooo funny, although not at all at the time. We had a sewerage disaster a few weeks ago when the main (street) sewer was blocked so we got umpteen hundred litres of the neighbourhoods poo water discharging out of our inspection point only a couple of metres from the back door. hmmm very not funny at the time!
MP, re the TT, I think we are just going to have to bite teh bullet and go over to training pants not pull ups. Have you tried doing this...hopefully the discomfort of a non-absorbent pant is incentive to use the toilet instead.
Hey everyone, DH reckons I'll be stunting Missy e's emotional growth if I insist on sticking to the tricycle (and not a 2-wheeler with training wheels) for the next year. What do you think? So maybe I'm jurassic but we triked for a long time with DD1 and she's not stunted at all?

Cally who would've thought Meg and Mog would be such a hit at this age? We've got a corker from the library at the moment called My dog, my cat, my mum and me (or similar) where they all get fat and then have babies. E loves it. I find it hard to get suitable books at the library, they all seem to be aimed more at the primary school agers, too much text & complexity. I think they're all mined out because of all the preschooler story sessions the library runs each week.
E is a huge fan of the meg and mog books too - she's borrowed all the ones the school library has. I remember them from when I was a kid and I can't believe they are still going strong either.
With the TT for those of you that are having trouble, what I did with L, and to a lesser extent A, was what I found out the other day is called the 3 day toilet training method (google it). basically the gist is that you ply them with loads of water and then take them to the toilet at set times. I usually go 20 minutes. Every single time he sits on that toilet he will wee without fail. Also I recognise the signs that he needs to poo - like farting LOL, which is a dead giveaway that he is getting ready to do a poo. So when he's been farting for a while, I will take him to the loo and tell him to try to do a poo and it may take 2 or 3 trips till they are ready to do one, but most times he will do a poo the first time I take him. Now I know that might seem like you are just teaching them to wee/poo on command, and to an extent it is, but they also pic up the signs of needing to go. Now I can ask him 'do you need to wee/poo?" and he thinks about it and says yes or no, so he is learning to stop and think about what is going on so while initially I had to take him to the loo all the time, half the time now he is telling me when he needs to go.
sherie: i am soo going to be listening for farts now lol! DD is 100% on wees and is able to take herself now, but the poo is still a bit *precious* for her. not sure if she is recognising it all TBH.
arte: ohh i really felt for our plumbers. apparently - DH was telling me (i was like you: point and shoot) - they were about 3 mtrs down in a narrow trench and sliced the pipe that collapsed...and all this blocked up water and *bits* gushed out all over them :sick: and because it was so narrow there was no way they could move away lol!
i am with you on the summer thang. i have taught DD to sing "go away winter, bring back summer" to the tune of the peter and paul rhyme lol!
MD: we had our neighbours poo visit us in our house lol! i was like 'that aint my toilet paper' bahahahaha!

I can't stand Dr Seuss! I remember vividly hating the stupid nonsense rhyme when I was a kid and I find them just as terrible now! And they are sooo long - I have lost interest by about page 10 and yet it just keeps going and going! Luckily W has shown no interest in the couple that we have because I really don't want to be reading those suckers all the time. We will just stick with Hairy Maclary.

MD, W still has his tricycle but he can't even ride that yet. He can't peddle and wants me to push him so it doesn't get much action. He moved the peddles a bit on his own the other day and then told me "now I can have a small motorbike" lol. He doesn't seem to have any interest in riding it, maybe because he has never really been around anyone riding a bike?
Today I tried on some scent that someone gave me that I found in the cupboard, only for W to say later "mum, why do you smell funny? You smell like a possum". Always the ego booster lol
Miss A is in bed for the night and has slept for 3 whole hours, no resettling! That hasn't happened since she was about 3 months old! Last night she got up for a party from 1-3am. I am struggling a bit with the study because I can't keep my eyes open when I am trying to read.
Arte - not a big fan of Dr Seuss here either, we never read it when we were kids. DH loves it though so he reads them to K. Hope your night continued on the good streak!

we wont be moving to a proper bike for a while yet - i think he rides 3 wheelers at kindy and we have a trike that he likes here - but it doesnt get as much use as it should - my fault not his!!! we do push hima bit though so i dont think he will need a big bike for a while. we are getting a tramp for his bday this yr and i think he will LOVE that now... i reckon J will love it too,he is a bit more daring LOL!
we have made some progress on the TT this weekend, we were more full on with it and had success today, a wee this mornig then a wee and poo this eve... dry in b/n though he def did a wee in his nappy at sleep time.. but i am pretty happy with that. we went to a play centre and shopping in th emorning and had friends over in the arvo so thats good going. he didnt tell me he had to go but stayed on when he did - so i think its progress! we bought loads of great undies today so i think thats an incentive (along with freddos and star chart). hope we get somewhere with it. that said he now is wondering when he can start 3yo kinder as i told him he has to use potty/'tpoilet for that... lol
hmm dr seuss - i am not a fan but i did buy 1 to see - he doent love it so i dont read it much! heis v into all the books by the gruffalo author now and they are gorgeous books so i am happy w that!

TT has gone completely backwards here. i have no idea what's going on, but this morning L stood up on the coffee table and ****ed everywhere! i was completely floored. i have no idea what to do. i told him that he's going back to wearing nappies full-time now cos he can't be trusted in undies.
we have a sticker chart, freddos, cool undies that he loves yet he chooses to be a feral that wees wherever he likes. *note to self* must tell dh to stop peeing in front garden and off deck, not setting good example.
G, if it were me, I'd put him back into nappies too. It's one thing to just have an accident, but it's a completely different thing to do that.
We have a heap of Dr Seuss books here. The kids love the rhymes. I know they go on for ages, but I still think they are very cleverly written. But the kids love any type of book which is good.
The funnest thing happened yesterday. We had a baptism to go to and we sat right up the back so the kids wouldn't bother anyone and when they brought the collection plate past it was already quite full of money. We gave the kids $1 each to put in and A put his money in and took out $5!!! It was hilarious. We know the kid who was taking the plate around and he starting laughing himself and nearly dropped the plate LOL. He is such a larrikin.

Ginger, about a week ago I found W in his wardrobe doing a wee and there was poo everywhere. I went completely off my trolley - yelled, forced a nappy on him, yelled some more. Poor kid has never been growled at so much in his life. Not really my finest moment but I was soooo shocked that he would do something that disgusting.
I think when it comes to things like that, you can't just be "Oh, that's OK, it was just an accident" or some other similar comment because things like that are deliberate and they should get in trouble for it! Sometimes I think they don't 'get it' till they are yelled at kwim? Not saying that yelling is always a good thing, but far out! You can't be expected to react to something like that calmly, especially when they don't normally do that and should know better.
I agree Trill, there has to be a line somewhere. You can't always be accepting and positive 'I'm sure you will try harder next time' - he damn well knew it was filthy and chose to do it anyway. I sure wasn't letting him away with a "please don't do that".
thanks for your help ladies. Yes i did go fairly crazy at him, so he knows it was unacceptable. i just don't get why he was doing so well, doing all his #1s in the toilet, and then why he would do this. i think i'm going to put him in a nappy full-time for the next 2 weeks and then reassess.

MD - saw your FB status, what the childcare problem?
What a week we've had! DH started to feel dizzy on Sunday night, still felt funny in the morning. Apparently he had a 24 hour virus (not a heart attack, high blood pressure or the other things that come up when you google ongoing dizziness). Then yesterday I had to go to training 2 hours away, got a phone call in the afternoon that K had conjunctiviits and needed to be picked up. DH could manage that, but it meant he left work far earlier than planned and last night was Year 11 information night. So we basically kissed at the front door and he was off back to work when I got home. And the housecleaner has decided to go back to what she was doing before and K also has a bull ant bite on her leg and it's all fat. Tomorrow we have to squeeze dentist's visit's in the afternoon, I have to have an early start on Friday. Meanwhile having to pop over to childcare twice a day to put drops in. Things just seem to be a bit crazy at the moment, hopefully it calms down next week.

Leila is finally beating the cold. it has taken WEEKS. couldnt believe it. hopefully this will translate into full nights of sleep (she doesnt wake up but kinda cries and needs to be tucked in itms). 'cause she is feral without a full kip under her belt.

Hi Girls! i've FINALLY got back online, oh boy, its been simply AGES. i won't even start to explain. BUT... i did have my DD2 on 22 July, went into NICU, 39wks, elective c/section (loved it) and the doctors told us after she was born that she has down syndrome. we r living with inlaws at the mo, til i get on my feet, they are great to us. DD2 is such an active baby and seems the condition is mild, however has a heart condition and drs say she will require surgery when she's 3-6 mths. ANYWAY, she is beautiful and DD1 loves her to bits. we ended up staying in hospital for 10 days whilst i was able to exclusively b/feed, which is really want i wanted. its been a massive 4 wks, but we are going strong!

Supablondie, Congratulations on your new baby girl! What is her name? Glad the C-section went well and you have BF sorted. How is your DD1 (sorry, I can't remember her name for the life of me!) going with being a big sister? Must have been a bit of a shock to get a DS diagnosis, but it sounds like you have taken it in your stride.
Clare, must have been a relief that baby didn't come on Monday - do they have the 37week minimum cut-off for home births there? Good luck getting a decent sleep out of L tonight. I remember the days of a low lying bub - when you crouch down and it feels like everything is going to fall out of your fanny lol
