Hope everyone had a great Christmas morning. W was so ready for a bike - he learned to ride it in about 5 minutes! Then a bit of coaching to teach him to start himself after the "I can't start it" yelling got too much lol A has been chasing him up and down the driveway all morning.
Arte that is great he can ride it all by himself. I bet the look on your DH's face was priceless when he saw it.
Cass and MD, I'd love to see a pic of the handy work you've done
As for me - massive few days. Mum had to have one of her big toes amputated on Thursday (gangrene) so my brother is staying with me. We went and saw her yesterday and she's going well. We did her Christmas shopping for her and I got presents for the kids for her and a new phone for my brother that he wanted but thought he wouldn't get because Mum was in hospital. I think he thought he wouldn't get anything for Christmas kwim? But I told him to go and browse his fave music shop instead of hanging out with me and I got his phone for him from Mum and we got him some new clothes. So he was very happy and surprised this morning when he realised he had presents too. Poor kid, he's been through a lot this year. The kids had an early start - Alister was up at 5.30!!!!! I took him to the loo and told him to go back to bed, but I don't know if he went back to sleep or not. They were all up at 6.30 as usual though but we didn't open presents till 7 when my brother was awake. So Alister sat in front of the tree busting his bum to open his presents. I'm so glad we did what we planned and just had the santa sacks - my other brother got them a present each as well as the one from Mum, so they still had plenty of stuff and were just as excited as they would have been if there was a stack of presents kwim? My brother gets the prize for best present though - he gave Alister a hotwheels colour changer car thing that came with a water spray bottle to spray the cars and change their colours and he thinks it is awesome LOL. He has a huge fascination for spray bottles atm and is always pinching mine.
We're off to the IL's soon for lunch (prawn ****tail starters, and roast pork and chicken for main - YUM!) and then just back here for a lazy afternoon. We will go and visit Mum in hospital tomorrow. She will be in there till Wednesday at least.
So I hope you all have a wonderful day and enjoy the laughter, smiles and noise!
Trill, W got the same Hotwheels thing from IL's - loves it! It is a play with outside toy though because he can't resist squirting the water everywhere lol. I am glad your brother had a good Xmas after everything this year. Must be really hard for him without his dad.
Wishing my dear friends a very merry christmas. I hope you all have a joy filled day. You can all have a glass or two for me ok?
Arte- Glad the bikes were a hit! Is W riding without training wheels?! Go him!
Trill- Your poor mum, i hope they put on a good spread for her today. Sounds like a nice morning at your place.
It's a bit of a funny christmas here. The nationals celebrate but not really with gifts, so our present giving is kind of secret. It's a little strange, but we're having a big roast lunch with all the expats so that will be nice. The girls were sooooo excited this morning, i loved it more than them i think watching their faces as they opened their presents. I also got exceptionally spoilt with a pair of diamond ear rings. DH must have the guilts for years of crap or no presents.
JM, still training wheels, I was just impressed because he has never peddled before and picked it up so quickly. We went for a ride around 6-7 blocks and he managed the whole way by himself.
Got W to bed an hour early today to avoid the massive meltdown that was on its way lol
Well, both girls are asleep...and have been for a couple of hours i guess the excitement was a bit much lol!
the cubby was a hit, as was the lip gloss...which is officially forehead gloss
marta has been enjoying the jolly jumper i got her and squeals and cackles of delight are filling the dining room now when she is in it; especially when the dog runs past and bounces her
hope everyone has eaten to their hearts content and enjoyed the day with laughter and love
